Slide Text works on computer, not on iPad

I have several lines of text and numbers in a text box on my slides. They look great on my computer, but the formats incorrectly on the iPad, from which it will be projected. How can I fix this so the text doesn't wrap around to the next line? Do I need to create a PDF file?

My guess is the text is using a font which isn't available on the iPad.  If that's the case, the easiest solution is to switch to one of the iPad-compatible fonts:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4637
You could also make the text box a little wider, which might keep the text from wrapping even if the font changes a little when brought over to the iPad

  • Web content works on ACViewer not on iPad

    Hi,
I'm working on an iPad testing the posibilities of the DPS. Now trying my luck on the web content (using local HTML files) I got everything fine on ID CS6 built in Content viewer but after pushing everything on my iPad I get just a white backgrounf in the frame I created.
Any idea what I do wrong?
    Thanks
    Dietmar

the website I'm playing around with is www.media2dive.de. (I'm only using one language).
As I said, the »article« both pages (V and H) are working fine in the ID-preview put not on my iPads (1 and/or 3)
And now I just realized that both Viewers (on the old and the new iPad) are not receiving my Folio updates anymore.
I deleted the viewer and uploaded a new one. I still have old versions of my folios on both iPads put nothing I did since yesterday afternoon.
This is going to be difficult if I want to offer my work for money

  • DVDSP burn works on computer NOT desk top player

    I'm using DVDSP 2.0
When I burn a disk it works on my computer but not on a relatively new desk top player. Is this a media problem? I've had some probs before with media but have been using Maxell DVD-R that has worked in previous projects. Any media suggestions?
Or any other suggestions for that matter.
Would an external burner and Toast give me a more consistent burn?
    Thanks

  • Ipod works on computer, not disconnected.

iTunes was not allowing me to add songs to my dearest ipod, "Charlie". Later my computer wouldn't recognize Charlie at all. I tried restarting my computer, I tried a different firewire, and I tried rebooting my ipod. When I went to ipod software, it said there was an ipod attached, but not mounted on the desktop. I chose to restore factory settings. When I disconnected my ipod the memory was erased and the software was working fine. I reattached it and added some songs. And then, when I disconnected it, it went straight to the apple logo and then the folder icon with an exclamation point.
My computer is still recognizing the ipod and allowing me to add and play songs from it while attached. However when disconnected all i get is the folder.
Any suggestions before I send my ipod for service? Does anyone think it's silly to pay $250 for an expired warranty ipod to be serviced/ replaced when you can basically buy a new one for that price?
    Help!

"Any suggestions before I send my ipod for service? Does anyone think it's silly to pay $250 for an expired warranty ipod to be serviced/ replaced when you can basically buy a new one for that price?"
Before you send it away, have you tried a repair of the iPod hard drive via the first aid tab using disk utility? Then a restore using the iPod updater.
Yes, that is silly to pay that price when there are 3rd party repair options that are cheaper.
The fact that it works ok on the computer may suggest a bad battery, which if so, will be considerable cheaper to fix.

  • 16:9 Widescreen only works on computer not in DVD player

OK this is weird, I created a DVD using one of the new widescreen themes. It works fine on the computer and shows in a widescreen format, but when I stick it in a DVD player it shows as 4:3 and I've tried it in several players that all work with other widescreen DVDs.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi Saundhaus!
Several thoughts. It's a known, and reported, bug in some of iDVD's theme sub-menus. The following, (which takes longer to write than actually do, so don't panic!) refers to PAL, but substitute NTSC where it says PAL and you can't go wrong!
HOW TO MAINTAIN 16:9 ASPECT FROM IMPORT TO BURN
This is the way I do it. There is no compulsion on you to do it my way, but this works (for me). I started this method before iMovie and iDVD were upgraded to 6.0.3, and because not all elements of the various iDVD themes (particularly the pre-iDVD 6 ones) are consistent in keeping to 16:9 throughout the process.
The widescreen preview works just fine when you check your finished project within iDVD. The problem only happens when you either burn a project or save it to an image.
A bug in iDVD 6, particularly when working with PAL, and which has been reported to Apple, is that the sub-menus in many of the themes (the chapter settings) default to 4:3 aspect, NTSC and mpeg 1, instead of the desired 16:9 in mpeg 2 in PAL. This may be partly a leftover from iDVD 5 or even a newer ‘feature’ of iDVD 6. Either way, it is annoying when it happens, and we must hope Apple cure it in iDVD 7. In the meantime here is my failsafe workaround, which sounds a lot more complicated when reading about it, that it is in practise.
Living in the UK, I use PAL (25 fps). Wherever you see a reference to PAL (25 fps) in the following you may substitute NTSC (30 fps) in the various settings mentioned (if you don’t live in Europe), the basic idea is the same. I still use this method, and take these steps, regardless of whether it is always necessary. Worst case scenario: it would have worked anyway. Best case scenario: it works perfectly where it otherwise wouldn’t!
The object of the exercise is therefore to ‘fix’ all constituent parts of the project (video, titles, theme, effects, even audio!) in the desired 16:9 aspect to avoid producing a DVD where the movie is in 16:9 and the menu is in 4:3 or where other irritating surprises lurk in your project, which you only discover after burning a coaster!
First go to http://www.mydvdedit.com/index.php?lang=english and download myDVDedit. This is shareware although the download is free. Send the guy a few dollars/euros, he deserves it. While you are there, read all about it. Now install it in your Applications Folder. You will need it later.
You have finished your iMovie project with music, transitions and so on, and saved it to you Movies Folder. Before you started the project you naturally set it to DV Widescreen.
Open iDVD. Give the project a name, and save it as Widescreen if it didn’t default to the same aspect as your iMovie project. Now import the iMovie project into iDVD, choose a theme (any theme you like, even if it prefers to stay at 4:3) and save the project. Do what you would normally do to the theme and its drop zones. Save the project.
Now save as Disk Image on your desktop. Leave it there for the moment when it has finished/appeared.
Open your Movies Folder. Create a new folder. Name it PROJECTNAME – TS FILES (where ‘projectname’ is the name of your project!). Close the folder. You can of course call it anything you like, but this aids identification.
Now double-click the disk image on your desktop. It contains two folders: AUDIO_TS (which is empty, but please pretend that it isn’t) and VIDEO_TS. Drag and drop these to the folder you created in your Movies Folder. (This takes a moment).
Click on the AUDIO_TS folder and go to Get Info in the file menu. Right down the bottom is where you have to change the permissions. Under ‘Ownership & Permissions’ change this from Read Only to Read & Write. Click the small triangle next to Details, scroll down and click on ‘Apply to enclosed items’. You will be asked for your root password. Close the get info window, and now click on the VIDEO_TS folder and do the same. Close the Projectname-TS Files folder. You have now allowed yourself to change the properties of the contents of those folders, which leads us to the next all-important step.
Open myDVDedit. Go to File and open the projectname TS Files folder. By all means stare at it shock and awe, but don’t bother finding out what it can do, except for the following:
Top left you fill see a list of files. Lower centre you have a large window. On the vertical menu to the left of that, click IFO.
In the window at the top left, ignore ‘First Play’ (if there was anything to correct in that, myDVDedit will have done so and told you).
Click on VMG Menu en (English). Now the whole thing springs to life.
Set Coding Mode to MPEG-2 (if it isn’t already)
Set Standard to PAL (or NTSC if that is what you want)
Set Aspect to 16:9 (not any of the other options)
    Now save the file.
Click on VTS Menu 1 en (English) and repeat as above.
Click on VTS Menu 2 and repeat as above.
You have now permanently ‘fixed’ the entire contents of the TS folder (the disk image) in 16:9 aspect. Close myDVDedit – you won’t need it again until the next project!
If you have Toast 7 Titanium, open it. ‘Select DVD-Video from VIDEO_TS’. Choose Select from the main Toast window and select your projectname-TS Files folder. You are now ready to burn! You can set the burn speed (2x recommended) before the burn commences. Allow Toast to verify the burn before you eject the DVD-R disk.
If you don’t have Toast 7, then I assume you can burn the projectname-TS Files folder (disk image) via Disk Utility. I say ‘assume’ only because I have never tried it that way.
Either way, you now have a DVD which will play as 16:9 widescreen on any TV set, even the old ones where you can’t ask it to letter-box.

  • Airport not working anymore, computer not recognizing base station

It first began with my internet connection cutting in and out.
I thought it was my ISP server, had them out for service and everything, and my signals are fine, even though I had a solid green light on my airport.
Now my airport blinks amber, even when connected to the modem.
I've unplugged both modem and airport for a significant amount of time. I've reset both manually. I've checked my network settings, tried reconfiguring the base station, and now my computer can't connect to the base station at all.
Did my base station go bad? Is there one simple thing I've neglected to try?
Please help. Connecting via cable is going to cost me a fortune in massage therapy bills.
    Many thanks,
    db

OK, I even went out and bought a new base station and it still won't work.
What the **** is going on?

  • Apple tv only works on computer not on tv

I can only get my remote to control my i tunes library on my compter not on the tv.  the tv does not seem to be recognized even though i am getting the apple tv screen saver on it.
i am also getting the message setting date and time without it setting.
the network is working fine otherwise
my air parrot also cannot find the apple tv device
    help,

Your Apple TV may have become paired with another remote. Hold the remote close to and pointed at the Apple TV, hold down the menu and Rewind buttons together for 6 seconds or until you see a broken chain icon on screen.
Once you get the remote working, check to see if the Apple TV is connecting to the Internet properly.

no, i want count workgroup computers in my company
You can get the number of machines managed by ConfigMgr that are in workgroups. However that might not be all clients in different workgroups since there is no guarantee that all machines are managed by ConfigMgr (have a client).

Hi there. I have the ipad 3, and just last night had to reboot and do the upgrade, now my texting and facetime on it is not working...it states that when I click to activate it, and put in my user id(email) and passcode....that" could not sign in...please chekc network connection and try again".....well my Wifi connection is fine, and i can text and facetime fine from my iphone..just not the ipad now.....any ideas why it will not take my user id and passcode?...the passcode works fine on my iphone.

    Hello cohenj80,
Thank you for the details about the FaceTime and iMessage activation issue you are experiencing on your iPad 3.  I recommend following the steps in this article when you are not able to sign into FaceTime or iMessage on your iPad:

  • Timing of text box will not appear.  My text boxes stop working on slide 5 and they will not work for the remainder of the slide show.

Timing of text box not working.  I get the first few slides to work and then on slide 5 my text boxes will not appear.  And they do not appear for the rest of the slide show.   Help anyone.

Text caption is timed to appear at 2 seconds, but you have a click box at 0sec. Its duration is very short, which means that I cannot see if there is a pause. I suspect this click box is pausing at the end of its timeline, which is at 0.3secs and the Text caption at 2 seconds will not appear before the user has clicked on that click box. The timeline is the core of Captivate, learn at least how to read it.
Tiny Timeline Tidbits - Captivate blog
If you want the green text caption 'Click on...' to appear right at the beginning of the slide, you have to check its Timing accordion: set it to start at 0 secs instead of 2 secs and extend its duration to the 'rest of the slide'.
I don't know what is in the Group. That group and the HIghlight box will disappear at 3 seconds. Or maybe the action that is triggered by the Clickbox is different from 'Continue'?

Hello i have a problem with onfocus function on ipad. I am trying to bring my cursor on a text box on a button click. It works fine with safari web browser but not on ipad. Need a solution.

I don't think that a software update from Apple will solve the issues that you are having. You have a rogue installation. After you posted I have just done the following:
Disk Utility can verify  my partitioned Volume (including my boot disk) AND REPAIR the non-boot disks on the same Volume without a glitch. It repairs the non-boot disks containing data smoothly.
I have used Mail to send some mails from some Yahoo and Hotmail accounts to my Thunderbird client containing GMail accounts - absolutely normal.
I have iLife '09 but my iMovie '09 and iPhoto '09 open in a jiffy and I see no issues here. I have 6GB RAM (Maximum) on an early 2008 Macbook Pro with a 750GB hard drive partitioned with 120GB reserved for the Boot Drive.
I am sorry that I cannot help further but I am sure there must be a way to reinstall the software without having to revert to restoring your ML backup. I have two clones and if you have such I would attempt to do that through that rather than through Time Machine - that is of course if you have a cloned drive.
    Good luck!
