Slider in phone contacts missing

My wife's iPhone is missing the slider on the right side of the screen in her phone contacts section. ANy idea on how to fix this? I've activated both with the same version of iTunes and did the latest phone updates.

I'm not positive, but I believe I read that it may have to do with the number of contacts that are in the contact list. If it just a few, that slider doesn't show up. Do you have the latest version of iPhone software installed?

I can't see my phone contacts, all I see is email address when I push the phone icon. how do I fix this?

    Step 1
Open iTunes on your computer by double-clicking the iTunes icon on your desktop.
    Step 2
Plug your iPhone into your computer using the USB cable that it came with.
    Step 3
Right-click on "iPhone" on the left hand side of the iTunes window under the "Devices" column.
    Step 4
Select "Restore From Backup" and choose the backup version to which you want to restore the iPhone from the list in the drop down menu.
    Step 5
Wait for the restore to complete and eject the iPhone from iTunes. Click the "Eject" icon located beside the device and unplug it from your computer. Scroll to your contacts in the iPhone to locate the previously deleted contacts.

  • I just upgraded my iPhone4 iOs and lost ALL Phone Contacts! How can I get them back?

HELP! I've been using my iPhone consistently for ALL phone numbers, since I have serious memory problems due to fibromyalgia. I upgraded my phone last night finally, having moved my photos out of it I had the space to download and install the upgrade.
I got a nasty shock this morning when I tried to make a routine call and found ALL of my phone contacts missing. They don't seem to be either in the cloud or in the phone. What happened? It said it was storing them in the cloud but they're all gone! How can I get them back?
IF this normally happens, why should I ever upgrade? Seriously! I didn't think to copy all of it out manually before upgrading, I'd upgraded once before without any problems. Addresses and other details gone too. I've got four numbers in "Favorites" but no context for them beyond location by state. I don't even know who they are - can't recognize just the numbers.

Thanks, but I checked iCloud and it has none of them.
If it backed up to my laptop, that died and I just got the new computer. The one that's crashed won't even boot, so there's no way to even tell if it was syncing the contacts along with all the phone photos. Literally happened at the same time - it was because I had the new computer that I was finally able to pull the photos off the phone and make room for the upgrade. It had refused to upgrade for lack of space for some time.
I had thought it was set to sync to iCloud but it vanished from BOTH my phone and the cloud. That's why I'm so angry about it.

  • Itune version 5.1.1, many contacts in the phone are missing,

I justed updated my iphone4 with the latest itune version 5.1.1.
Now, I found many of the contacts in my phone are missing...
Most of the remaining contacts only reflect the number, name does not appear.
    How to solve this?

Since there are not C++ class libraries provided for data acquisition (DAQ) yet, you must use one of the previously available methods for programming DAQ in Visual C++. There are two optional Application Programmer Interfaces (APIs) available in Visual C++: the DAQ C API, and the ActiveX DAQ controls. The DAQ C API is normally the best choice for data acquisition in Visual C++ since it uses C data types and is programmed in a standard C style. The ActiveX controls use data types that are not native to C++ like Variants and Safearrays and they are programmed through an ActiveX style of programming. The Tools for Visual C++ do provide tools that make both of these APIs easier to use through the provided data type classes.
Install NI-DAQ help for C++ to see examples for the DAQ C
API, and install ComponentWorks' help for C++ to see the ActiveX DAQ Controls. There are examples of both on the web in the NI Developer Zone.
Note: As of version 3.0 of ComponentWorks, this software is part of a package called Measurement Studio which also includes LabWindows/CVI and Tools for Visual C++. For this version you should use the Tools for Visual C++ and calls to DAQ functions that are in your DAQ User Manual

  • Missing phone contacts

i have just bought an i phone 4, in the shop the assistant transferred my Blackberry phone contacts from the sim  to my i phone smaller sim card.
these telephone contacts are in my i phone somewhere, but i can't use them as every time i go to contacts the whole list of email contacts i have in outlook comes up and no phone numbers.
can anyone suggest anything or tell me something i'm not doing correctly?

The iPhone does not store contacts on the SIM card in any way. Contacts are saved in the Contact application and are designed to be synced to a supported application on your computer. Information about the supported applications is found in the User Guide.
You mention Outlook containing email addresses, it should also contain phone numbers as that is how they are designed to be stored, and Outlook is one of the supported applications I mentioned earlier. If the only part of your contacts saved from your Blackberry to your SIM were email, then therein lies the problem. You can, however, try and see if the shop you mentioned transferred your contacts to the mico SIM and select transferring contacts from the SIM to the iPhone. That is done in settings. Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar and select Import contacts from SIM. It all depends on how the transfer was done.

  • Can I delete all the contacts from Facebook in my phone contact list.. !!!

I am a new i phone ower...  had Droid for over 4 years..   Currently... I miss my Droid!!...  iphone seems to control me.. and I hate that
    I have to use itunes..
Now it tells me (iphone 5).. I can not delete those off my phone contacts from Facebook.  I don't want all those on there I rarely speak with
    or contact..
PLEASE tell me how to control my phone..
    Peggy

Thanks..  did that...   When I try to download facebook to my iphone
it asked for my id, pwd.. etc.
    You're welcome.
Not sure how your FaceBook contacts were available or are available with the Contacts app on your iPhone if you have not already downloaded and installed the FaceBook app from the iTunes App Store.
This is when you try to download the FaceBook app from the iTunes App Store on your iPhone, or when accessing the FaceBook app on your iPhone that has already been downloaded and installed?
    1.  Voicemail.. I tap the person who left message.. in the voicmail.. (I think I am in the right screen/program)... I see the little button at the bottom moving as if a recording is on.. but NO volume.. nothing!!
When selecting Voicemail from within the Phone app and selecting a voicemail to listen to the voicemail, have you selected Speaker at the top right to listen to the voicemail through the iPhone's speaker? If not, you need to place the iPhone to your ear to listen to the voicemail.
    2.  How can I delete pictures off the "photos" .. camera roll and all that downloaded from Facebook, etc. and my latptop. I DO NOT want???
    Select the Photos App.
Seelct Camera Roll from Albums in the Photos App.
Select Edit at the top right to select a single photo to delete or multiple photos to delete followed by selecting the Red Delete button at the bottom right, or with a photo selected from within the Camera Roll viewing the selected photo full screen, there is a Trash Can icon at the bottom right. After selecting the Trash Can icon at the bottom right, a big red Delete Photo button is provided along with a Cancel button.
Seems like these iphones do more than the owner wants.. NO control  and I understand no customer service .. made me sicke no "owner's manual etc.  to refer to as a hard copy.  .. sorry  I am much older than the average iphone owner, so I like to have hard copies... cause I don't trust my laptop to keep all the info, etc.
    What?
You must be joking. I'm no spring chicken and have never needed to check the iPhone user guide.
There is plenty of control; Apple includes a mobile version of the iPhone User Guide with a Safari bookmark, or you can download the iPhone User Guide as a PDF file from here
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
Apple offers free telephone support for the first 90 days after the purchase date and free support at an Apple Retail Store.

  • TS1702 i have erased my all phone contact list and then the message comes that it will be deleted with in an hour. but now my phone is not starting and only the apple logo appears on the screen. what should i do now..!

i have erased my all phone contact list and then the message comes that it will be deleted with in an hour. but now my phone is not starting and only the apple logo appears on the screen. what should i do now..!

That number is for an apple server in the UK that is used for iMessage activation.  A hidden SMS is snet to that number when you turn iMessage on and is used to verify your phone number.  I suggest you turn iMessage off.  In settings/phone turn on dial assist.  Check with your carrier to see if you can send an international SMS as you end that possibility to activate iMessage.  Rest your phone (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).) then turn iMessage back on.

  • My phone is miss please check the imei for me thanks

my phone is miss please check the ime for me thanks.

    Apple does not track phones.
Contact law enforcement if you believe the device has been stolen.
If it is merely lost, start looking for it.
If the "Find My iPhone" feature had been enabled prior to to losing the device, it would be trackable via www.icloud.com

  • Contacts missing from iphone

I have had this problem before, and was able to solve it before, but this time have tried everything listed in previous forums and nothing is working. Not only are people's names, addresses and phone numbers missing in my contacts, but in my "telephone book" as well. Does anyone have any suggestions, and can clearly point me in the right direction on solving this problem.
    Thank you in advance.

I did set all my email contacts to be on the phone, and checked the iCloud. Re-synced the phone with itunes on my macbook. I have turned the phone off and left it turned off for 10 minutes and then turned it back on.
The contacts I am seeking are still missing.
One in particular I know had no email address associated with it.
I'm about ready to quit my iphone.

  • Syncing both "Contacts" contacts and "Phone" contacts to iCloud

I have an iPhone 4, and when tryig to upload my contacts from my phone to iCloud I noticed some were missing. I went through my phone and found some of my contacts are in the "Contacts" app, and others are in the "Phone" app. How do I get all of these together and onto iCloud, or at least all into one app on my iPhone?
When I attempt to sync my phone contacts to iCloud it only transfers the contacts from the "Phone" app, leaving all the contacts in the "Contacts" app behind.
    Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if this will work or not, but you could try something like this:
Put your phone in airplane mode so it does not connect to the internet (and to iCloud)
Restore your iTunes backup as before.
When completed, go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts to Off.  If prompted, choose Delete from My iPhone.
If you have only a few contacts on icloud.com, you can just copy them down to re-enter later.  If you have many contacts on icloud.com, download them as a vCard file to your desktop as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4910, under "Contacts...iCloud.com Contacts".
    Delete all contacts on icloud.com.
Turn off airplane mode to allow your phone to connect to icloud.
Go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to On and choose Merge when prompted.  Your recovered contacts should now be in iCloud.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section) and confirm that it is set to your iCloud account.  If you don't have this setting you can skip this step.
If you downloaded contacts from icloud.com as a vCard in step 4, email this file to yourself, open the email on your phone and tap the attachement to import these back to your phone and to iCloud.
If iTunes does not allow you to restore the backup while the phone is in airplane mode just leave airplane mode off and restore nomally.  When the restore process begins to restore your apps on the phone, perform step 3, then wait until the restore process finishes to complete the remaining steps.

  • Address Book Contacts Missing with Exchange

I have seen this posted previously, but there has been little discussion.
My exchange setup in SL seems to work perfectly in iCal and Mail, but I am missing about 100 contacts out of the 200 or so contacts that should be there. I do not see anything common between these contacts that would make them go missing, except that most (maybe all of them) come from the same group. There are only a few contacts that synced over from this group, but most are missing. I have yet to determine if any contacts from my other groups are missing.
I have this same exchange account set up on a Windows machine and on my iPhone and everything syncs fine between those devices.
    Thanks.
A quick update. I have determined that there are contacts missing from all of my groups.

I am having the same problem. I updated to SL and about 1/3 of my contacts are missing. I still have them on my phone and am trying to figure out if there is a way to dowload them to my computer.

  • How to delete "group" from phone contact info?

I used my Mom's computer to update my iPhone. Unfortunately, it added all her address book phone contacts to my phone book. I deleted all her contacts, but it won't let me delete her "groups" from the group list--even though the groups are "empty." Any way to delete her groups from my iPhone?

I wouldn't have been condescending had you included that you no longer have your own computer with your original post or with your reply to my post and thanked me for replying and trying to help. Those that answer questions and offer suggestions here volunteer their time to do so. Not only did you not thank me for trying to help - someone should have manners when being helped regardless if the helper is being paid to do so but even more so when the helper volunteers their time, you didn't even read what I provided very carefully. Bad enough not having any manners when asking for help, but you should at least read what is provided somewhat carefully.
That being said, I'm not wanting to make you feel stupid. I appreciate at least minimal manners and a thanks on your part. Please don't answer if you are going to be completely mannerless with someone who is volunteering their time to help you.
Now I have a new issue...is there any way to recover my missing/deleted contact information?
Since you synced your contacts with your Mom's Address Book, your iPhone contacts should be available in your Mom's Address Book and your Mom's contacts and Address Book Groups should be available on your iPhone.
    Is this not the case?
Were your iPhone contacts replaced/deleted with your Mom's Address Book contacts?

  • Backing up cell phone contacts

I want to use iSync to back up my cell phone contacts in a specific Address Book group.
I don't want to transmit any information from the computer to the phone. I just want to pull data from the phone to the computer.
I tried using iSync to sync my Motorola v710 with an Address Book group called "v710 contacts." When I was done, (1) no contacts appeared in the Address Book group; (2) the two people I call most frequently were somehow deleted from my phone; and (3) certain other people who I never call suddenly had a redundant listing on my phone.
Anyone know the right way to do this? Thanks.

There is no 'right' way to do what you want with iSync: it simply does not have this capability.
iSync is designed so that, within the limitations of an applied filter—such as the Address Book group identifier—both sets of data are equal or identical when the event ends. It has no provision to overwrite the contents of a Mac OS X application like the Address Book with the contents of your mobile handset.
You will simply have to look for another OS X application to transfer selected mobile handset contacts unidirectionally to a data file on your computer.

  • Lost all phone contacts.

I lost all my I phone contacts, I used to have my the contacts on my iphone synchronized with outlook but my computer went wrong and it does not turn on, I could still access my hard drive on a different computer. Is there a way to recover the outlook contacts from the hard drive, is there a file that I could copy from the outlook folder to get my contacts?

No, but you could import your contacts into Outlook on another computer. Or find the backup of the iPhone on your hard drive and move it to another computer, then connect the iPhone and choose Restore Backup by right clicking on the iPhone name in iTunes.See this for location of the backup: http://osxdaily.com/2009/09/11/iphone-backup-location/
