Slides move too fast - lose my audio recording

I have narrated along, slide-by-slide, with my presentation. However, when I play it the slides move along too quickly, and by the end of it the slides have gone past where my narration is.
How can I artificially add a second or two gap between the slides? I recorded each narration at a time, instead of all in one shot, if that helps.
Thank you very much for any help,
Robin

I've posted a more detailed answer to your other related question, but here's a simple solution to what I think you are asking here.
If each narration is a separate recording, associated with each of the images, then simply add it to the slide as an individual audio track and assign it to Build-in at the same time as the image. Then, all you have to do is wait for the narration to finish before changing to the next image. This can be done manually by Clicks, or automatically in the Builds "More Options" window.
If you want your finished presentation to play "automatically" you then can record a SILENT SOUNDTRACK (i.e. with the audio input device turned-off) while advancing the Builds and Transitions manually. Once completed, the slideshow should run "in sync" as a stand-alone presentation just as you recorded it.
Be aware, however, that if you try to run the slideshow as a Hyperlink from another presentation, or export it to another format, all bets are off! With the current version of Keynote, Recorded slideshows simply do not work except as stand-alone presentations in their native format.
Good luck.

  • Flash movies too fast with flash 10?

I have a website with some flash movies. they run at 30 FPS.
i recently installed a new version of flash and now my movies run
too fast. not too much fatser but enough to make a difference to my
audience. is this a feature of flash 10? what can i do to make sure
my viewers dont also have this problem??

Do you hear anything? Check your audio output. If it is set to hdmi, there's nothing to slow down the video and it plays too fast. Set the audio output to speakers and...voila!
This happened to me today. I had plugged in an external mic that used an A/D dongle (usb output) and it switched my audio output from speakers to hdmi somehow.  I could download flash movies as .webv and play them at regular speed with VLC, with no sound. I use Linux Mint 17, but I saw other forum posts where this happened on Windows and Ubuntu.

  • How can I play the current slide only when there is an audio recording?

    Hi,
I have a 10 slide presentation where I am recording audio one slide at a time. If I have the current slide selected and click play, Keynote plays from the beginning of the presentation.
Is there a way to have Keynote playback only the slide selected when audio is recorded?
    Thanks,
    humbucker

    humbucker237 wrote:
Thanks! That really helped. Why does the audio recording cause so many issues when it's done using Keynote?
    humbucker,
I don't really have an answer for that. It usually boils down to complications when all combinations of possible uses are considered. One scenario may seem a no-brainer taken by itself, but not when other options are in play.
I was responding to your specific question about Quicktime recording. You could also use Garage Band, Audacity and the like, of course. Quicktime is just so much easier than any other option that I'm aware of for making short, simple, recordings.

  • Have 11.1.4 scrolling moves too fast

When I search music by way of songs or artists and try to scroll down or up either way  - the indicator just flies well past any song or artist that I am looking for. I have to use my mouse and click one at a time to find what I am looking for.

One question is how come you have so many managed beans - is it because you used the "automatic binding" to create a managed bean for every page? If that is the case it is likely that you have many beans that you don't actually use in your application.
Have you tried to see if using multiple JSF config files solves the issue:
    http://one-size-doesnt-fit-all.blogspot.com/2007/01/using-multiple-faces-configxml-files-in.html
As Timo said - using ADF taskflows and correctly partitioning your application can also be a solution.

  • Video playing too fast

Don't know if anyone else has this problem but for some reason I was and I seemed to find a weird work around. I had an AVI, divx codec, ac3 audio that the video was playing WAY too fast but the audio was fine. Well, seems that Quicktime is getting the frame rate screwed up and when I opened it, if I immediately to to "Movie Properties" to look at the frame rate it will play fine. If I try to play it and then look at the properties it won't play right. Almost as if it has to find out what the frame rate is at the beginning. Very weird but a bit of a work around for now. Hopefully this will be fixed. It was using Perian to play it.

I have experienced a similar quirk, with several different videos, including .m4v clips that I have downloaded or created myself. The problem doesn't occur when previewing the movies in the Finder, nor when playing them in iTunes. However, if I open the files with QuickTime, the video plays faster than normal, but the soundtrack plays at the original rate! I tried your solution of opening the Movie's Properties first, and it does seem to work. Of course, this is only a workaround for now. Obviously, something needs to be tweeked in Leopard or Quicktime —most likely both— to eliminate the quirk entirely. I am very surprised by this problem because one would think that Apple's own software products would be more compatible than third-party programs! Yow...!

  • Spry accordion open on mouseover with extra content if too fast

So I already did this and got the spry to open with a hover,
Go to line 213 (or thereabouts) to find
    Spry.Widget.Accordion.prototype.onPanelTabClick = function(e, panel)
    and change that to
    Spry.Widget.Accordion.prototype.onPanelTabMouseOver = function(e, panel)
but if you move too fast up and down the menu it opens the other contents and leaves it there see webpage:  move your mouse fast up and down the menu to see.  How do I make sure it is completely closed.  I noticed this does happen to on a Click if you switch too fast between tabs.

    Thanks for any help!
    Jacey

so is there really no way to fix it? My client already has that, and it's not practical, we want to be able to see all the options for the sub-menus open when we are in one of the tabs.
Let me know if there is really no way around it.  I'm actually pretty sure that the background for the next tab is stuck behind the content.  Take a look at this site and see how they have a delay in there accordion.

    HI!
I have a problem with .mov files. They play and the sound is ok, but video plays too fast and i ahead of audio. I'm sure the video is too fast, because i can see when someone is talking that it's way too fast. I've tried reinstalling quictime, installing older versions, reinstalling direct x and graphics drivers. I even tried quictime alternative. Nothing helps. This happens to files that i have on my disc. And it only happens on my computer, on my brothers it plays just fine, so the files are ok.

  • Audio is playing back too fast

In previewing, the audio plays fine for about 15 secs and
then starts playing back very fast (aka chipmunk sounding). Sounds
like sample rates got out of sync.
    Suggestions?

Let's see if we can figure out the cause ... that might help
    us with the "cure".
    1) How are you listening to it - locally as in F4 preview?
Single-slide preview? From a remote location (web)? Locally after
    publishing?
    2) How many slides are covered during that 15 seconds of
    "good" audio?
    3) Same slides every time, or does it play well for only 15
seconds no matter which slide you start on?
    4) How was the audio put
into the movie? Created by "narrative" during the recording
process? Imported from a 3rd party audio recorder - if so, what
format was it in when imported, WAV or MP3? Inserted manually
during editing, on a slide-by-slide basis?
    5) What IS the sample rate and other "stats" for the audio
file(s)? *You can check this from the dialog at "Audio >
    Advanced Audio" . . .
    6) Is it Alvin? Theodore? Which chipmunk? And in fact, did a
    chipmunk actually DO the audio??
Thanks for your added info - and your sense of humor . . .
Oh yes, and by the way, "Welcome" to the Captivate User

    1. Close Video creator if it is already opened
    2. In Windows > Programs > look for "Troubleshoot Adobe Presenter Video Creator"
    3. Launch the same and record the exact same steps
    4. Stop recording > Ensure that the issue has been reproduced.
    5. Close the application.
    6. While closing, it will prompt you to send us an email with collected log reports.
Kindly send the logs. We will go through it and get back to you.
It will also be great if you can send us the presentation in which the issue is reproducible.

  • Audio playback too fast

I have an ipad2 and I'm having problems with the audio. The playback of audio files saved on the ipad is too fast. The same files playback perfectly on my pc. This is not the case for audio streams playing directly over internet radio - no problems there.
Any suggestions of what can be done?

Try quitting the iPod app. First go to the home screen. You cannot quit an app if you are in the app itself that you want to quit.
Quit the app by double tapping the home button to bring up the multitasking/recents tray at the bottom, hold down on any of the app icons in the tray until all the icons wiggle, then tap the minus sign in the corner to quit the offending app or apps. Restart the iPad and try again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button at the top of the iPad until the red slider appears, then slide to the right to power off the iPad. Turn the iPad on again by pressing the sleep button until the Apple logo appears. Once the iPad has fully rebooted, find your app, and tap the icon to relaunch.

  • Audio recording in late with the vidéo (with the slides capture)

    Hello,
My projects are in demonstration mode without legends and with an audio recording for all the during of the project ( 5 minutes with more than 100 slides)
    First :
Why we can't configure the number of screen capture per seconds?
We can configure the number of frames per second for the creation of the swf but for the creation of the project we can't configure anything !
So, we could say is not a problem, the automatic mode will do for the best but it's not the case... more and more the time goes and more and more there is a shift between the audio recording and the actions...the vidéo going faster compare to the audio recording... and we can't configure the number of slides capture per seconds, I think there is no solutions...
Why buy a software that doesn't work because we can't configure it in details?
    Cordially,

Have your rebooted/restarted your iPad? you do that by pressing the Home and power/sleep button at the same time until the slider to power off the iPad appears. Slide the slider and when screen activity stops depress the two buttons again until the Apple logo appears. When the iPad completes rebooting try again to see if that solved your problem.
