Slideshow Action -- Auto start
I've used the slideshow action In GoLive once before, but in conjunction with a mouse click and it worked fine. However, I now want to have a slideshow on the home page of a website and have the slideshow begin automatically when the page is opened. The "slideshow auto" action seems to require either a mouse or keystroke event as a trigger. How can I get the slideshow to begin automatically upon page opening. I'm assuming it can be done easily, I just can't seem to figure it out . . . I'm utilizing a Mac/2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM running MacOS 10.4.11 and GoLive CS2 . . .

Best way to set up slideshow on main page with auto start & fading??
I would like to build a main page that has 3/4 of the page a photo slideshow. I want the photos to fade in and out and for it to auto start. I saw a website like this but it kept my computer humming along the whole time. http://www.paragoncustom.com/ What would be the best way to do this so that it does not do that?? Also since this will be the opening page to website, it needs to be able be seen on most everyones computers.

How can I auto start a slideshow?
Is there a way to auto start a photo slideshow? I'd like to skip the index screen and go directly to the slideshow.
iweb1 slideshow can be directly linked, so if you have iweb1; you may like to try that.
now to the bad news, iweb2 slideshow can be directly linked, only if users' browser allow pop-up windows. however, most people DO block pop-up windows.
here is example - please disable your browser's pop-up windows for it to work:

that because iweb2 slideshow requires two open windows: photo page window and slideshow page window. slideshow gets the photo from photo page, while photo page is opened. slideshow will stop working when photo page is closed.
in my example, there is one added line of javascript in the photo page ,js file to start slideshow (five seconds after the photo page loaded):

Enable the Auto play feature through Slide show options. Not sure what you exactly mean by "on the same picture"!

Bill ~ If you create a QuickTime movie slideshow, in iWeb's Inspector > QuickTime tab, you can set the Autoplay option. Here's an example of a fast loading, looping embedded QT slideshow (not mine):

iPhoto > select photos > File > Export... > QuickTime tab ...set width and height, etc.
Then iWeb > Media button > Movies tab ...drag in your movie created above by iPhoto.

Note: The above generates a QT slideshow of small file size and thus appears quickly in a web browser. -
Does edge 2014 have an auto start feature that works on the iPad? I have it working perfectly on the desktop and laptop. I do not want to show video controls either.

Unfortunately, the longer answer is "no". iOS and most Android devices require video playback to be initiated by a user event such as touch, click, swipe, etc., and not the autoplay (nor preload) attribute.
While there is a workaround shown in the above link, it still requires a user action to play the "dummy" video element before a different video src can be attached to the element, and there's no way to preload any video on iOS, so there likely will be animation synchronization issues as well. Circumventing the built-in limitations of these devices can also have unexpected consequences for the viewer on a cellular network (possibly incurring data charges without their knowledge - that's general reason given why these devices don't support autoplay of video and audio elements).
If the mobile platform is important to you, the better way is to design your site in such a way that a user event is required to initiate video playback, or provide controls to the video element so the user can choose to initiate playback.

bobI don't believe that feature is supported in Lightroom's default Flash galleries. You could have a look at SlideShow Pro Lr Plug-in, which is altogether much more powerful and flexible tool for making web galleries and slideshows.

most probably this is caused by the shebang (#!/bin/bash)
the default location of bash on RHEL (OEL/CentOS) is /bin/bash, which means that the shebang looks correct.
can you make the shebang:
#!/bin/bash -xso shelltracing is put on and execute script again?
this will make clear if it is the shebang in your script, or in another script. -

Girish SharmaI see you start this service at sequence "99". This is good, but there are other 99-level startup scripts as well. These are processed in alphabetical order. Do this:
$ ls /etc/rd5d.d/S99*
So, "dbora" will run even before rc.local and that may not be a good thing.
Also, checking:
$ ls /etc/rc5.d/K* | head -n15
will show you the order in which services are shut down, again in alphabetical order.
These steps may help:
# /sbin/chkconfig dbora off
# /sbin/service dbora stop
# cd /etc/init.d/
# /sbin/chkconfig --del dbora
# mv dbora xxx-dbora
# vi xxx-dbora
# /sbin/chkconfig --add xxx-dbora
# /sbin/chkconfig xxx-dbora on
# /sbin/service xxx-dbora start
What we are doing is:
1) Remove existing dbora service
2) Rename the service to something that shows last in an ls(1) command
3) Edit the xxx-dbora script to change the chkconfig info from "99 10" to "99 01"
4) Installed the service.
Now, the start-up is done as the very last action and shutdown as the very first.
Does this make any difference? -
CRS on Redhat 5 auto-start problem

Recently I tried to install Oracle 10gR2 on Redhat 5. I did research and took all the necessary actions to install it on Redhat. Everything went well, according to the documents and at the end of the installation, all the resources were up and running. However, after the install, only the VIP was up and ONS and GSD was in unknown format. When I stop the nodeapps and start it again, everything stars working. It seems that the problem is something to do with boot process. I tried to put some delay ( for OCR mount ) but still no luck. This is the result from crsd.log from node1 when node2 is down.. :

KamyCRS on RHEL 5.5 auto-start problem

Recently I install RAC Oracle 10gR2 on Red hat RHEL 5.5. “Two node cluster, iscsi storage, ocfs2 mounted files & ASM ”
I did research and took all the necessary actions to install it on Red hat. Everything went well, according to the documents and at the end of the installation, all the resources were up and running. However, after the install, only the VIP was up and ONS and GSD ,ASM and the other services was in unknown state. When I stop the CRS & start it –all again, everything stars working. Please friends I need to fix this problem because the cluster services and the client workstation are stopping when the servicers is relocated to node 1 after the server reboot because the CRS did not worked still on node and manual starting is taking time.

Stop Napster Auto Starting when I connect my
I wonder if anyone has any tips about this one...
When I first connected my ZMP I accidentially chose "always start Napster to syncronise" from the auto start list.
Normally I choose "don't do anything" but I chose Napster by accident this time.
Anyway - normal autostart removal techniques dont work with the ZMP...
Anyone any ideas how to stop this auto starting?

dj_TWhen connecting your MicroPhoto, the "MTP icon" will appear in your taskbar briefly. Double-click that icon to bring back the "MTP Media Player" autostart box; you can then change the option. I suggest you choose "Take no action" and keep the "do this every time" option on; that means it won't autostart any application.
You can also download the TweakUI application for WinXP from Microsoft and use it to change your player's autostart options. -
HT4539 Is there any way to auto-start the Apple mail app?
Our company offers a 7/24 service where a user can leave a voice mail in our system and our mail server will send an urgent mail message to the iPhone of the employee on duty so it can be handled in a timely manner. The problem we are having is that if someone turns off their phone and starts it again (or if the user opens the running apps window and shuts down the mail app), the users are not getting those urgent emails.
While I understand having an auto-starting app would be undesirable, since every developer might start activating that feature, does Apple iOS6 have any way to tell the mail app to restart on iPhone boot? We have a few people using other smartphones with a competing O/S that sounds similar to "asteroid" ;-) and the mail appears to be always operational, even if you shut down the app.And be sure to set up Notifications for mail so the phone will beep, buzz, flash, whatever when a message comes in.
One issue though (discussed elsewhere): the phone will only Notify once. If you didn't hear or see it, there won't be any further warning (unlike, say, Blackberry's flashing LED). You're gonna have to grab the phone and at least bring up the lock screen to see if there are any notifications queued up. -

Then I changed the default shell for oracle user to csh and viola..... it works.

How to switch off auto start of replication sp's.

I was checking my sqlserver's master database and found some body has swithched on auto start
of the following sps.
sp_MScleanupmergepublisher
sp_MSrepl_startup
May be some one was exprerimenting with replication.
pls tel me how can i switch them off?
i was hesitating to use this command
"sp_procoption 'spname', 'startup','off'"
, because i thought some on might have configured some thing else also for replication
or there might be some other way to swithch of these replication sp.

Please know that it’s powered by a windows service called Touch keyboard and handwriting
pane. Stopping this service will be in result of disabling the on-screen keyboard.
Let’s try to disable the service related to the touch keyboard:
1. Press Win+R, type “services.msc“, and press Enter to bring up Services window.
2. Scroll down a bit until locate the service called Touch keyboard …
3. Double click it, first to stop it if it’s running, and then change the Startup type to either Manual or Disable to prevent it from auto-starting next time when computer starts.
