Slideshow background auto-fill's with other images?
Hi all,
I am making a slideshow in iDVD, and some of the images have background of other images... It seems to auto-fill and it looks terrible! It's sometimes on the sides and other times at the bottom, like in my example. I thought perhaps it would burn without it, but no such luck. I am using iDVD 6 also....
Any guidance would be much appreciated <3 (*see photo attached)

The URL prompts are coming from your Bookmarks, Cache and History files. If MacRumors appears in one or more of those files, it ought to appear in the prompts.

In no particular order...
You're basically asking for what Mac OS X Server provides. With the server version and a suite of tools including Server Admin, you can configure and manage the capabilities of the server, including the web server, DNS and all of the other available services.
Snow Leopard Server is a US$499 purchase, or can be acquired as part of the Mac Mini Server or Xserve packages.
The Apache web server present within Mac OS X client starts within via the sharing control panel, and various folks have posted directions for [manually starting php within the client package|http://labs.hoffmanlabs.com/node/1462]. The Mac OS X client packaging is "detuned" from what the server version provides.
A Mac Mini Server is more than capable of running dozens of web sites; the typical bottleneck will be the remote network bandwidth needed to serve the sites. The Xserve box is more than you'll need here.
All of the nice GUI stuff aside, you'll (still) want to learn the bash command shell, both for certain advanced configuration tasks and for troubleshooting and maintaining the server, and likely also for establishing your local archival strategy. -
I am new to Apple/MacBook this year, so far I am just plain frustrated. My harddrive keeps filling up with "other" files and I dete them and they always come back from using apple mail. I have used tech support and filters but it still happens over and over. Any help here? I would SO appreciate it!
Boot in safe mode by shutting down, then restarting and holding down the shift key, keeping it down until you see the Apple logo on the display. Safe mode is slow to boot and run.
While in safe mode, use a tool such as the one linked below to explore your volume and find out what's taking up a lot of space:

Don't launch any other applications. After completing this test, and deleting some files, reboot as usual (not in safe mode.) -
How to: Create a master form that auto-fills data into other pdf forms?
I hope someone can please help me. I have about 15 PDF forms that all require similar data entry (name, address etc). Can I create a master form that we fill in once per client, and then auto-fill in the matching data on the 15 forms?
I am not looking for an online solution as the information is highly sensitive.
I have already created a form in Acrobat X Pro with the 'master data', and created the (15) forms with identically named fields. How I link the forms now to the master, I cannot figure out (after much searching).
I have read similar questions on the same topic but have not found any answers. I hope this time someone can please help.

I've also thought about combining the forms, once we know which ones the particular client will need. I have to see how it works in practice for my colleagues who will be using them.

How can i fill letters with an image
I am extremely new to mac software, I loved publisher on ms. I want to do bold lettering for wall displays but I want to fill the letters with images of what the heading is about. For example, when I did the vikings, I wrote each individual letter out very big and filled the letter with an image relating to the vikings, I am assuming this is possible on the mac, but I can't figure it out. Please help. I need my labelling done before I get back after the summer break!
If you installed Windows on your MBP (Bootcamp or Parallels) you could use the same software. Otherwise you will have to search of a Mac compatible version or some other alternative.

Aperture replaces images with other images that have the same image number
Help! Aperture has started replacing images in recent projects with older images from elsewhere on my hard drive that have the same image number. Obviously I need a better numbering system, but can someone help me figure out why this is happening? I store master files on an external drive and the "replacement" files seem to be coming from identically named images on my local HD or in iPhoto.
I started renaming all of my images when I import them. I'm using referenced images to an external drive, although I still have a bunch of older images stored in the Aperture library under my old numbering system (which was basically whatever image number the camera generated)....need to move them all to the external drive but haven't had time.
So here's the latest problem: Today, Aperture started replacing images in albums (referenced images with unique file names under my new system) with old images even though the file names weren't even remotely close. It also replaced the images with the preview for the old image (230 pixels wide). "Show master" showed me the preview for the old image, not the correct image.
I tried forcing an update to the preview, but it had no effect. The real masters are intact on the external drive, but this is really scaring me. It happens out of the blue, right in front of me...I watch as my images appear to be replaced with random old images in Aperture. It appears to have nothing to do with file names, as I'm now using totally unique file names. -

Problem:if there is a small change in the picture it is showing false ,but the image is ok only the contract ,clarity ,inclination is the problem... i need your help in controlling that image......like controlling the colors and telling if the color , shade, projection of the image of the image is in between this range show it as ok....
i started with cluster taking the out put of the BMP file, but i am not able to do....can u help me on this.

How to fill up image exactly with other image
I have two pictures of a pigeon. The background image is the ideal posture of a pigeon. The foreground image was taken by me and is not the ideal posture of a pigeon. I want to transform the foreground image so that the foreground image matches the background image exactly. What are common techniques or best practices in Photoshop to do this? I have tried to do this with CTRL + T with warp modus, but i don't know how to use this without disfigure the other parts of the pigeon. I have tried puppet warp as well, but i don't know how to use this in this case.
Thanks!Well there's also Liquify under Filters which allows you to warp pixels using brushes. But I would probably stick to Free Transform Warp and/or Puppet Warp for this. It's a bit of a tricky task this and will require some work and the end result is up to your material quality, picture resolution and patience. I know, not much help, but a suggestion to begin with would be to scale the pigeon images so they match each other as closely as possible and then get busy pushing your pixels around.
BTW search YouTube on some tips on how to use Free Transform Warp and Puppet Warp. It's always easies getting visual help from a video than trying to explain this with words... -
Similar to many others storage mystically filling up everyday with nothing new being put on. Only solution is to testers ipad then get totally free storage until later that day or next day. Hoping for a software fix.

Auto-fill iPhone with Party Shuffle?
I have a 160GB+ music library on my computer.
I would LOVE it if there was some way to tell iTunes, every time I plug in my phone to sync it, for it to fill the phone with random music selections (i.e. Party Shuffle). Or maybe fill x MB or x GB worth of the phone with random music selections. Is there some way to do this via AppleScript?
I love Party Shuffle at home -- it is the jewel of iTunes for me -- because I've discovered so much music unexpectedly through it -- and I'd love to have it on my phone too.You're welcome.

There is no on command for this. Under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences, choose Selected Playlists and any Playlists that you have available should be available in the window below, including any Smart Playlists. Select the Smart Playlist you created followed by a sync.
2) How do I tell iTunes to refresh that playlist and choose a fresh 100 songs, on command?
I don't believe there is any on command for this either, but there are all sorts of options with multiple combinations available for each Smart Playlist, and you can create multiple Smart Playlists. -
Is there a way to auto fill cells with the exact number in mind?
I am trying to avoid this:
Column "A" is used as a "MATCH(" point for an "INDEX(" formula in another spreadsheet, and although cell A329 says 73.14, which is what the other sheet can identify to populate the particular row five columns over, its really
73.1399999999... thus, not giving me the correct reference and not populating properly.
Is there a solution?
I have about 1,500 rows to go through, I know I can do this manually, one at a time, but I'm pressed for time.

Copy the helper column and paste Values over column A.

My guess is that your operating system got updated to Mavericks and that you are running an old version of Lightroom:

Auto fill subject with an Email link in CS4 Bridge flash web gallery
Is there a way to autofill the subject line of the email link in the CS4 Bridge flab web galleries? I can do it if I use the html gallery, but I prefer the look of the flash galleries.
If I open the "group.xml" file I see code for me email link, exp.: <contactEmail>maillto:[email protected]</contactEmail>
I tried adding the "?subject=My Subject" like I would on an html file but that didn't work. I was hoping for some suggestions.

I have drawn a curved box and wish to fill it with and image. I'm having trouble with this as the image is a rectangle and the box has curved edges. Is there any way which you can fill the box with the image. It will not matter if edges of the image are cut out.

Highlight a layer in the layers palette, then press CTRL+J (windows) or Command+J (Mac) if you want a duplicate.
Otherwise, highlight the layer, press CTRL+A (windows) or Command+A(Mac) , then CTRL+C (windows) or Command+C (Mac) and then you can paste it where you want. -

If you haven't restarted your computer for a while, do so. Sometimes cache files get mangled and begin expanding rapidly. A few weeks ago my iMac went from more than 500GB free to less than 20GB free in a short period of time. I knew that wasn't possible but also knew that I'd not shutdown or rebooted in over a month. After the reboot the disk was back to its normal usage and I've not seen a repeat.
If that doesn't do it, check out macupdate.com for programs such as DaisyDisk and Omni DiskSweeper to examine your drive contents. Media files (movies, digital photos, and songs) are the mostly likely culprits for taking up space.
