Slideshow captions do NOT show

I added a grid of photos and captions to a Photo page. Next I clicked the Slideshow button in the Photos inspector and chose the following settings:
1. Enable slideshow
2. Transitions: Dissolve
3. Appearance: Show captions
When I click Play Slideshow on the published site, the photos appear as expected, the dissolve works, but the captions do NOT show.
Troubleshooting suggestions much appreciated.

Can I show captions using this theme?
No.  Not all themes are able to display captions.

  • What would cause images with captions to not show up?

Still struggling with this issue. Images with captions are not showing up on the iPad preview.
    Please help!
    Thx!

    Hi Andrew,
I have been struggling with this for days. I am working on it with Apple. We re-installed the software, I re-installed OSLion, I re-started in safe mode, looked at startup items, cache, etc.
Now I am about to create a partition and test again to determine if the issue is with another software program on my system.
BTW, I noticed this starting AFTER I upgraded to 1.1, but maybe that is a coincidence. Do you know if it started for you after the update? ALSO, check your help screen in IBA. Does it look the attached? This started happening at the same time as the caption/image issue.
Please stay in touch as you the first person other than myself (that I know about), who is having this issue.
I look forward to hearing if you have the Heklp issue.
    THANKS!
    Belinda

  • Spry Image Slideshow with Filmstrip not showing online

I just put up an image slideshow. It works locally, but online the spinning wheel spins all the time. The viewport does not show any image. The filmstrip does show the thumbnails, and the navigation works. My guess is that the images I used for the viewport (a href) are too large? Their size is generally 700x580 and mostly above 90KB - are they too big??
    Here's the link: http://webdesign.mpcc.edu/KenShobe/DaphneM/WebII/lane_photography/submenu/flora.html
    I greatly appreciate your help!

Well, the images were not too big - resolution wise. What I did was I checked my remote server files and made sure that it was identical to my local files for my website. And I found out that Dreamweaver did not upload the images (the ones that go into the a href tag) into my remote server, though I "put the entire site." SO I had to upload them. And then when I checked it worked.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • Spry Widget SlideShow Basic (IE8 not showing all images)

    Hi everyone:
I've read through the past posts, trying to find the solution so I wouldn't have to bother everyone if the solution to my problem was already here.  I couldn't find it, although I did find similar posts about this problem but no out and out solution.
    My problem:
I have added the Spry Image Slideshow-Basic into an .html page.  The widget works well in Firefox, Chrome, Safari and IE7!!  It does not work properly in IE8 as IE8 skips every second images...the even numbers.  It does not work on my local computer and it also doesn't work on the server.  I have uploaded all the files to the server and it still doesn't work properly.
I cannot seem to find the solution and I am reaching out to the great Adobe supporters for help.
You can see the test web page here:
    http://www.fernweb.com/test/
There are six images in this group but it only shows numbers 1, 3 and 5.
Could someone please have a look and give me direction as to where the problem is?
    Thanks so much everyone.
    Daryl

The problem is with the Spry.Widget.ImageSlideShow.PanAndZoomPlugin
If you leave that out, then all is well
A dirty fix is to add the following to the HEAD section of your document
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" />

  • Slideshow on Wallpaper not showing photos right side up

I have 2,100 photos in IPhoto. I set up my Snow Leopard to show a slideshow as my Wallpaper. I went through my photos on IPhoto and used the Rotate function to make sure all my photos were right side up. However, when my Wallpaper is showing as the slideshow, some of the photos are still coming through not right side up. Any comments/help? New to Apple 2 months by the way!

Having the same problem, anybody have an idea of how to fix?

  • HT4613 Is it normal that closed captions do not show in the trailers and other promos, even if they are present in the movie?  I don't want to pay to rent a movie that supposedly has CC if it doesn't show up on the samples.

I want to rent some iTunes movies with closed captions, but in order to confirm that the CCs work, tried watching the trailers first.  I have CCs enabled on the iPod touch, but no captions showed up on the trailers or promos.  Is this normal?  Can I be sure that if a movie is marked with CCs, that they will be there if I rent it?  Thanks.

    Hi Karen
Unfortunately you will likely end up implementing either a totally manual system (meaning you just add a line at the top of your topic with your breadcrumb trail as you wish to display it, then link as needed) or you will have to resort to some third party solution that isn't part of RoboHelp's features.
You might also take a moment and suggest to the RoboHelp development team that we need some flexibility with this aspect. (Link is in my sig)
    Cheers... Rick

  • Captions do not show up on photos in journal

When I add a caption to a photo, when I then try to view pictures individually, the captions aren't there

Is "My Photo Stream" turned on in "Photos & Camera" settings in the Settings app?

  • Why is Closed Captioning (CC) not showing in rented movies on ATV3?

I have rented several movies in SD and HD from the German iTunes Store through my Apple TV. All of them were advertised to have CC in English. Watching the movie, I can switch between the German and English audio tracks. But the is no option to turn on the CC subtitles. By the way, I do have switched on both subtitles and CC in the general ATV settings.
    Have I missed anything?
Has iTunes mis-labled the movies and they don't come with CC?

    Hi daisyintampa,
Well, normally movies from the iTunes Store don't include such feature. Despite that, sometimes you'll find a few movies with CC and/or Subtitles...
Definitely all this rules are imposed by the Studios and not by Apple! However, you may want to leave feedback for Apple, by using [this link|http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html].
    Hope this helps!

  • Failure Caption not showing in playback

The Failure Caption is not showing for me when I record a
demo/simulation manually. I selected the Failure Caption check box
for the click box options and entered caption text, but when you
click outside of the click box area nothing displays when
publsihed. It shows if I use the auto recording option but I don't
like the way it displays the images in sequence for the application
I'm recording against so I end up needing to take manual captures
which presents the feedback problem again.

Try moving the click box to the top layer of the slide. That
usually works for me for some odd reason.

  • Click Box does not show failure caption

In one of the slides, I have 4 pictures. I put click box over
each of the pictures, one of them I set success caption, the other
3 failure caption. When I click the success box, success caption
shows, but when i click the other box, the failure caption could
    not show.
    Can someone help me?
    Thanks

    Hi EstherH
I don't believe you can make it work that way. Here is how
Success/Failure captions work with Click Boxes. Any click on the
box itself will cause the Success Caption to dsplay (If it has been
enabled). Any click OUTSIDE the Click Box area will cause the
Failure Caption to display. (Again, if it has been enabled).
I'm thinking you can get what you want by thinking backwards
a bit. For each of the three incorrect Click Box areas, configure
    the
Success Caption to resemble what you want the Failure to
read. You may also wish to change the caption style so it's
different. If you did this, a click on the other Click Box would
trigger it's Success Caption to display, but it would effectively
present a Failure to the user.
    Make sense? Hope so... Rick

  • Captions are not shown in HTML

    Dear experts,
In the web design captions are shown. However when I publish my designed pages to a map some of the captions do not show up when I open the HTML.
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Andre

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Are these captions under photos on a photo page or the grid layout of an album page? Those are found in the rss.xml files for the page(s) involved.

  • Captivate 5 quiz review not showing correct answers when loaded to LMS

Hello All. I would really appreciate some help please. Despite the quiz review working correctly when published, i.e. both 'your answer' and 'the correct answer' captions appear in the review, on loading to LMS the review caption does not show the 'the correct answer is' , but instead 'you did not answer this question completely'.
Any ideas why this should be the case? I've attached screen shots of my quiz preferences for completenes.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Janey

Do the same modules evidence this behaviour when published and played outside the LMS, e.g. from a web server or on your hard drive?
If not, it's possible that some setting in the LMS is over-riding what happens at playback.  You could try checking the box under LMS Customisation for Never Send Resume Data and see if that seems to make any difference.  If the LMS is maintaining a record of some previous attempt at the same module then turning off Resume Data might show that up.

  • Captivate 7- The Closed Captioning does not display on the screen

I am using Captivate 7 and I am concerned about the issue that the Closed Captioning, which is placed on the flash page and is supposed to display the introduction of our product with the caption, does not show up on the screen. It is confusing that the text of Closed Captioning shows normally on some of the computers in our company but fails to display on the others, no matter on IE 8 or 10. Due to the company policy and the product nature I won’t be able to make a snapshot. We have spent some time on this problem but failed to fix it. I am desperately looking forward to some solutions here. Thanks for any suggestion.
         The environment:
         Windows 7 Sp1
         Captivate 7
         IE 8 and IE 10
    Regards,
    Bill

Try clearing out your project cache (Preferences > General > Clear Cache) then republish using the option to Force Republish All Slides.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, you may be seeing the early stages of project file corruption.  Check the suggestions in this post about troubleshooting issues where you may need to copy all slides to a new blank project shell to try and strip out corruption:

  • I am trying to put a caption on a photo. Why does the caption not show in the photo?

In iPhoto, I would like to insert a CAPTION in the photo. When i enter my caption, it shows on the screen on top, but does not show in my slide show pictures.
    Can you help?

Adding a caption will add metadata tags to the photo, but not write the text as a graphics annotation overlay to the picture. The slideshow themes do not include the metadata tags. If you want to present the photos with captions, swipe them nanually and not as a slideshow.
You would need to find a different app to add graphic overlays to the photos for text written onto the photo.

  • Closed Captioning not showing up at specified In / Out points

    Hi all,
I recently upgraded to a trial of 7.2.1 (I'm a *long* time CS user) and am having an issue with closed captioning that's got me pulling my hair out. Upon importing a .scc file and inspecting it in the captions tab, I have all the captions I'm expecting at the proper timecodes (for example if I look up the start of a line in the program window the start timecode matches the "In" timecode listed in the Captions tab).
However upon playing the timeline and turning on Closed Caption display - the captions are not displaying (nor disappearing) at the in/out timecodes listed in the caption tab. They're showing up (roughly) seven seconds later at the beginning of the program, and over 11 seconds late by the end of the program.
Does anyone have the foggiest idea how to resolve this? I guess it's possible it's just a player issue and the issue will correct itself on output, but that's not really comforting. I could do what I need on this job by renewing my license for some other software, but Premiere would be a more versitile use of my limited software upgrade budget - but only if it can actually do the job properly.

    Hi Mark and monstremoi,
With all the fiddling I've been doing in raw captioning files the fact that I didn't just try increasing the hight of the track is completely rediculous. Lo and behold, there are the handles! Once I could actually see the captions in the track I noticed something interesting - that the .scc and .xml files are being interpreted quite differently.
If I take the same caption source file and output one xml and one scc and lay them on top of each other, this is what it looks like:
The XML is starting immediately at timecode 0, even though the first start time should be 4:06 (weirdly the scc is actually starting at the right time code in this test, something it's refused to do previously).
If I manually set the offset of the first caption by forwarding the xml caption track to 4:06 we get this:
*This* XML track seems to play out synchronous with the program albeit with some odd formatting (it doesn't appear to be reading any of the font positioning information from the timed text file, it's just playing everything top frame, justified left.
Already though up above you can see though that although the SCC stars at the right timecode, it's starting to drift out of sync less than 30 seconds in - which doesn't make any sense when both have been output from the same 29.97 timebase source.
Monstremoi - to answer you questions, no I've not done any captioning work in premiere pro previously. I actually didn't even know it was a feature until I read about the improvements in CC. Most of our captioning files come from Annotation Edit (zeitanker.com). If they're not prepared in AnnotationEdit / AnnotationTranscriber, we usually do some conversion work through it before outputting (usually to set offsets or whatever if we're adding presentation cards or something).
Happy to send you files to pull apart - although I'd rather not post them as a forum d/l link. Do you have an e-mail I can send them to?
