Slideshow Chain Play

iPhoto Slideshow is one of most favorite functions and I have created more than 200 slideshow. And sometimes I want to play several slideshow consecutively as a background video.
Is there any way to play the slideshow consecutively apart from exporting them to movie files and play them with movie player software?

I created an album in iPhoto and every time I click on slideshow it plays the pictures backwards from the order in the album. How do I change that?

When running a slideshow from an album it will not run properly if the photos are sorted manually.  Sort them by any of the other options, title, date, rating, etc. and it will play correctly.

If you must sort them manually create the slideshow in the slideshow mode in iPhoto, not from an album.

  • Flash web gallery - style.xml start with slideshow in play?

When creating a web gallery with Lightroom, using a default flash template, a style.xml sheet is created. Does anyone know the line of code in that style.xml that sets the gallery to load with the slideshow in play mode?
    thanks,
    Donnie

    Please excuse the bump...
Anyone with a LR flash gallery that starts with slideshow in play mode?
Can it even be set to do this?
The only code in the style.xml that looks like it might be realted is line 12 <playOptions playMode="pause"/>, changing that to "play" does nothing.
    Thanks,

  • Linking slideshows to play sequentially in iDVD?

I'm trying to get all of my slideshows to play one after the other in a "play all" mode similar to playing all chapters of a movie at once. I'n not looking to loop just one slideshow.
Does anyone know how to link each slide show to the other so that once one is done, the next one will automatically start? Is this possible in iDVD? I have seen this feature in other software applications.

You can do it with DVD Studio Pro because it gives you all kinds of linking options, but that's an expensive solution.
iDVD has a lot of simplifying assumptions built-in - especially on linking.
You could put all your slides in one iPhoto movie and then add chapter marks to jump to different parts of the slideshow.

  • Slideshow only plays first song in 3 song playlist

I created a playlist in iTunes for my slideshow. But the iPhoto slideshow only plays the first song in the list over and over again, even if I selected a playlist of three songs when I clicked on the Music button.
    Using iPhoto 08 v7.1.5

Have you tried creating the playlist in iPhoto?
Find the second and third tracks via the Finder and check their ownership and permissions.
Another test you can run is to create a new, test library, import the same number of photos as you have in your slideshow and see if you can create a slideshow and play the 3 tracks fully. If you can then the issue lies in your primary library.

  • Burn a slideshow to play in a dvd

Can I burn a slideshow to play in a dvd player?

Yes. Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar.  For iPhoto 9.4.3 and earlier select Size = Medium or Large. For iPhoto 9.5 and later selct 480p.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com.  Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.

  • Multi-Slideshow DVD - Play All Slideshows on Menu

Burned a DVD with 6 slideshows (6 menu buttons). When selecting any menu button, only that specific slideshow plays and then returns to the menu. How can I configure so that all slideshows automatically play in succession when a menu button is selected? Example: If Button 1 is selected, slideshows 1 - 6 will play and then return to the menu after slideshow 6. All suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated.

it's iDvd's big brother and part of Final Cut Studio 2 (it's a bit more expensive than iDvd or Toast as well as having a longer learning curve). Essentially it's Apple's top end DVD authoring software.
I have an older standalone version (DVDSP3) which works well on a G4 733 Digital Audio Power Mac. And in the past, that's the way apple sold the Pro Apps (individually).
Today things are a bit different.
Apple has since chosen to bundle the pro apps into a suite of apps called Final Cut Studio 2. It contains apple's Final Cut Pro 6, Compressor, DVDSP 4, Motion 3, Color, etc. (not sure if apple still includes a QT Pro Key or not. If not then it's about $30 extra and can be activated via QT Pro Registration process).

  • Photos slideshow pause/play button not displaying in 3.0

I've been running 3.0 on my first generation Touch for several months. Throughout, I've noticed that the Photos slideshow lower-center pause/play button no longer displays once I've paused a slideshow. While the left/right arrows show and I am able to advance photos one at a time, I am unable to re-engage the slideshow.
In software versions 1 and 2, one could freely pause and play a running slideshow. Now, when I pause the slideshow, I'm forced to bail out of the slideshow and start a new one.
A longtime Touch owner, I'm not certain if my problem is a 3.0 software glitch or things have changed. Has anyone else encountered the issue?

    Hi,

I hope Apple will fix this and some other Bugs in their 3.0.1 Update which will hopefully appears in a few days.

  • Exporting an iphoto slideshow to play in the iphone

Hello - any ideas how i can get a iphoto slideshow exported to play on an iphone.
If you export an iMovie - under the share option there is an export movie option, and then you can choose the iphone format?
    Many thanks

Do you have Quicktime Pro? If you do you can add the movie to the audio track, scaling it to match the track's length, and export for iPhone.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • How do I get a Slideshow to play on someone's TV?

I have created a Slideshow that I will be bringing to a highly-attended birthday party. I will not have an opportunity in advance to test my work on their DVD and plasma TV. What is the best way to ensure that it will work properly (i.e. exporting format, type of DVD, etc.)?
    Thanks!

When you get ready to burn the DVD use the File->Save as Disk Image to create a disk image of the project DVD first. Then your can play it with Quicktime Player to make sure the encoding was OK and there are no errors, i.e I've found many typos in some of mine that I had to go back and correct. Then you can burn the disk image with Disk Utility. And burn at the slowest speed possible as that will produce the cleanest burn and help assure compatibility with most of the DVD players out there.
    Do you Twango?

  • Burning a disc of slideshow for play on PC, is it possible?

I have tried repeatedly, have gone to 2 different Apple stores for one to one support and been told it is possible to burn a slideshow onto a disc for play on a pc. But my computewr cannot play it. I have a Vista opperating  system, I updated Quick time Player???? I want to give the disc as a gift.

If you export an iPhoto slideshow out of iPhoto as a quicktime movie file via the Export button, burn it to a disc in the Finder it should play on a Windows machine that has Quicktime installed.  It could be that Vista isn't compatible with QT.
I do know how you can burn a video DVD of that slideshow so that it will play on any computer that can play video DVDs or on any set top DVD player. If you think you might want to go that route let me know.  It will involve purchasing a video DVD authoring application.

  • Slideshow not playing as a PDF

In the last version of Lightroom, I could export a pdf slideshow and it would actually play when the PDF was opened. No music but it did play. Now I do not know if it is a PDF issue or a Lightroom issues, but my slideshows have to be arrowed through, they do not play on there own.
    Any suggestions?

I'm experiencing the same issue. Plays fine in lightroom 3, but no

  • Need to create a slideshow that plays on DVD...

I need to create a slideshow with about 100 images with music background. I need this to be on a DVD that can be played in any dvd player. iDvd is crap because of the backgrounds and stuff. Not sure how or if iMovie will work for this. I know I can create one in iPhoto, but I dont know how to get it to play on a DVD.
Anyone got any thoughts on this?

    Hi Pattimac,
I have purchased Titanium Toast 6, (with Jam, and have an external DVD burner. I was able to burn just the pictures but not the music. I would really like to know how--in easy to understand words--to make this work.
If you are referring to Toast 6 Titanium, you probably want to ask the question at Roxio user forum: http://boards.support.roxio.com/roxio/board?board.id=0000020 . If you want to know how to export iPhoto slideshow to iDVD, here is how: Exporting a slideshow to iDVD.

  • Making a slideshow that plays on a DVD?

Can a slideshow be designed in iPhoto that can be burned to a DVD that can be played in a standard home DVD player connected to a TV?
    Thanks.

    Sure,
Make your slideshow in iPhoto. When you're happy with it, choose Share->Send to iDVD. Your slideshow will be exported and a new iDVD project will open with your slideshow in it. You can change the theme if you want and then click burn.
iPhoto cannot burn a DVD-Video of your slideshow by itself. It needs iDVD for that.
