Slideshow comes up and moves through the pics but no pics are displayed...only a black screen

Did you check the error console or web console for errors after a hard reload (Ctrl+F5)?
Current Firefox versions have a lot of web developer tools build-in.

Server Admin refuses to connect, servermgrd runs but no ports are open

Server Admin refuses to connect to server when run locally or remotely. Upon investigating, servermgrd seems to run but when I run network utilities and port scan the server, neither port 311 or 687 are open. All other services appear to be running fine. No firewall is running. Server Monitor also has the same problems but WorkGroup Manager seems to work fine.
About 3 weeks ago, I had the problem and after trying many things, I did a clean install but the problem has reappeared after a few days/weeks.
At some point, servermgrd was crashing with a message about NSURL.... (lost and forgot the exact message).
-Tried to remove all the files in /private/var/servermgrd/
This solved the crashes but it now runs without opening the ports. After starting, it doesn't run away and consume any CPU.
Could not locate in system.log, console.log and servermgr.log any error messages indicatind something is wrong with servermgrd.
The log does show that server names are coherent.
Apr 18 23:06:31 server-1 servermgrd: servermgr_dns: hostname and DNS entries for this server are synchronized
- Tried rebooting.
- Tried running servermgrd with various flags, including alternate port but nothing happen. In fact the alternate ports do noot seem to get open. Even passing faulty options, it runs without complaining !
- Tried to reinstall the admin tools
- Tried to remove keychain paswords entries
- Tried Disk Utilities repair permissions.
Searching the posts, found somebody talkingabout servermgr_ctl
I'm starting to suspect some hardware failure (RAM).
Any suggestion how to test the ram.
Running out of idea.
Desperate for solution.

OS X Server 10.4.9
Server Admin version Version 10.4.7 (157.8)
Xserve Dual G4 with 2 GB ram. Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Ok, I ran memtest 4.2 and discovered the ram was failing, In replacing the dimm, they started working again so it may have been a mis-seated dimm module or some oxidation on the contact. My file system was already corrupt despite it being a fresh install. Then I checked and notice that the file com.apple.servermgrd.plist in Library preferences was gone. Either I stuppidly deleted it trying to fix the problem or it was hosed by the memory/file system corruption. Anyway, I copied it from another server and Both Server Admin and Server Monitor are now working.
SOLVED.
PS: in view of this event, once I'm satisfied the memory issues is solved, I'll do again a clean install. Who know what else was corrupted.

OID is up & running but "ldap" process are not running

Oracle Internet Directory is up & running but LDAP processes ( Not Running ---- Process oidmon
Not Running ---- Process oidldapd
Not Running ---- Process oidrepld
Not Running ---- Process odisrv) are not running.
I am trying to configure SSO for reverse proxy server and ran the command ssocfg.sh https proxyServerName proxyServerPort
and when i am trying to go for next step that is ldapmodify -D cn=orcladmin -w welcome1 -v -f setdasurl.ldif
it is showing up cannot connect to LDAP server. and also when i am trying to acess SSO admin Server the redirection url is showing up with 404 page not found error.

Do 'oidctl status' and check if the 'oidldapd' is up and running. If not, start 'oidmon' by executing the command 'oidmon start'.
To start 'oidldapd', use 'oidctl' command.
Eg: oidctl connect=<sid_name> server=oidldapd instance=<instance_num> start
Sometimes, when you start 'oidmon', the 'oidldapd' process is also started. So, its a good idea to do 'oidctl status' after 'oidmon start'

Your only way is if you have the version that was compatible on your computer such as in the recycle bin/trash or in a computer file backup. In that case delete the current version that is in your iTunes App library and replace it with the older version. Then sync.

ok i actually got a id set up and allegedly home sharing is on but the thing is the ipod when syncing keeps saying it can only use one itunes library do i want to erase my songs? i do not want to erase my songs. my itunes library i originally used is on my other computer which has no more disk space to add music to and this computer the xp also has not enough disk space to put both libraries on .. AP: daily concurrent request runs but some invoices are never validated

We have a process running every night (APPRVL module: Invoice Validation) to pick up invoice batches and this process should try to validate the invoices within each batch (we do not use approvals or workflow within AP). The APPRVL process always completes without error. Therefore every invoice within each batch should either have a status of 'validated' or 'requires re-validation'. I keep finding invoices within the batch with a status of 'never validated'. These invoices tend to have 'value' mismatch between the distribution total and the invoice total. I would therefore assume the APPRVL process to place a distribution variance hold on the invoice, but as i say the invoice remains at the status 'never validated' I have checked the log files for the APPRVL process : the logs contain details relating to each invoice picked up within the batch and whether APPRVL has validated successfully or not.
I have searched through metalink and cannot find any reason why the invoices may be missed. These invoices can be manually validated, although they will require re-validation because of the distribution variance hold placed on it. however it proves that there is no data missing from the invoice
Does anyone have any ideas as to why the invoices may be missed.

this is not normal ..however it is possible ... Can you check the configuration for the profile option "Allow Adjustments to Paid Invoice" set for your payables responsibility .. if this is set to YES, then your system allows modifications to the Invoices even after they are accounted and paid ...
I guess that should be causing the issue ...
For performing a test case in your Test/Supt environment, make sure the above profile option is enabled and create an Invoice, validate it and make payment to it ... now again query back the invoice and insert a new line and distribution ... this would make the invoice change to NEEDS REVALIDATION status i.e. match_status_flag = T .. and also placing LINE variance / DIST variance hold ...

No messages are dowloading for one account, but two others are working. Server settings are fine, messages are dowloading on another computer OK, but not mine.

My thunderbird has stopped downloading messages in one of my accounts, the other two accounts, from different providers, are working fine.
We have two PC's downloading messages from the same account, and it has worked fine like this for years. The other PC is still receiving the messages. I've checked my webmail, and can log in fine there, the settings in my account have not been changed in Thunderbird, and are the same as the other PC.
I looked in the error console in Thunderbird, this is what message I get :

Error: An error occurred during a connection to pop3.vianet.ca:110.
Cannot communicate securely with peer: no common encryption algorithm(s).

What's ridiculous? You erased the apps. They're not part of the OS. So, reinstall them for wherever their original source was.

Several years ago there was a batch of Time Capsules that used a particular type of faulty component. (This problem wasn't limited to Time Capsules, but affected other vendor's equipment as well.) That is no longer a problem. It's hard to extrapolate from a sample of two, but over time I've bought two Time Capsules, one three years ago and the other nearly two years ago, and they're both still working fine.

Database connects but no tables are shown

I have connected to the database on my remote server in dreamweaver 8 and it says its connected successfully, but when I open the tree or try to make a recordset no tables are show and when I try it in advanced this error appears:
"Error calling GetTables:
MySQL Error#: 1064

maillist being my database name
I'm not very good at dynamics yet so don't really understand the SQL syntax

But, from your response, it doesn't sound like you've actually deleted the connection scripts - it's a specific command in DW. You've installed the patch so that's good, you can verify the installation under the About menu and look for the version number. Bit then here's exactly what you need to do just to cover all bases
1. First delete the database connection from the Databases tab which is alongside the Bindings tab and the Server Behaviors tab. You'll highlight the connection, click the minus sign, and confirm. This will delete the connections folder and then file within.
2. From the Commands menu, find Connection Scripts > Delete Connection Scripts.(I'm guessing from memory, if it isn't the Commands menu, try the Site menu) 3. Exit and restart DW 4. Define the database connection again, use the same info as before, server, DB name, etc. Make sure you name the connection name as before as any files you have that use the connection will be looking for it under that name. Test the connection to make sure it can once again establish the connection.
That should work. I've had to do this several times before and not just in DW 8. Sometimes you don't have to go through all the steps exactly, but then again sometimes you have to repeat them once or twice.

I think I may have had an initial problem with Maps not even showing the mapping inside the app itself. But, I did a power down and powering back up again, and it worked again.
And then, after you do that, the primary question I would want answered first, is if the map shows up inside the "Maps" app itself. If it does, that's a good sign ... :-) ... from that point forward, if the Maps app shows the maps inside it, is to check each individual app after that for its own mapping function and see if all the apps that use "Maps" from the app show up the maps or don't show up the maps. If you get a mix ... in other words, some apps are showing the maps and others are not, then I would start looking at each individual app and seeing if there is a particular problem with that one app. In that event, contacting the developer may help.
Sometimes, deleting an app and then reloading it again, has cleared up some glitches from within that particular app, and I've seen that as a solution from some developers about their own apps.
Those are the things that I would do.

Ichat will open but no buddies are shown

i have had a mac laptop since june and have been using ichat every single day successfully, today i logged on and it showed my offline buddies but would not show my online buddies. i xed out and restarted ichat numerous times and then it finally disconnected me due to an aim server issue and me ( summer1256) logging in to many times. i then tried my aim account on a pc and it worked fine showing all of my buddies. what do i do! help!

Alert monitor for long running background jobs

I have to configure an alert moniter for long running background jobs which are running more than 20000 secs using rule based. I have created a rule based MTE and assigend MTE class CCMS_GET_MTE_BY_CLASS to virtual node but i dont find a node to specify the time.
could any one guide me how can i do this.

I think the missing bit is where to set the maximum runtime. The runtime is set in the collection method and not the MTE class.
process: rz20 --> SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors --> All Contexts on local application server --> background --> long-running jobs. Click on 'Jobs over Runtime Limits' then properties, click the methods tab then double click 'CCMS_LONGRUNNING_JOB_COLLECT', in the parameters tab you can then set the maximum runtime.
If you need to monitor specific jobs, follow the process (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/1d/ab3207b610e3408fff44d6b1de15e6/content.htm) to create the rule based monitor, then follow this process to set the runtime.

GUI and ABM for multiple runs

I am trying to launch a GUI to my agent-based model (Repast with Eclipse) so that being able to run the model for many times. I am going to produce input parameters based on different distributions for different runs from GUI. Usually we should use batch file for different runs. However, I want to use GUI for this reason because I have GUI that can take care for one run but not for many runs. Could you help me with your idea in this respect?

From your other post (Thread) I optimistically assume that you know about threads.
So what problem do you have creating threads in a loop?
