Slideshow from elements rotates some of pics in premier

I create a slideshow in photoshop elements and send to premier.  but some of the pics are now rotated in the slide show.  how do I fix them. This is my first attempt and I am very frustrated.

Yes, that can be preplexing. The issue is with display vs actual pixel locations. It is the same in Adobe Bridge (which lacks some of the features, that Organizer has), where the display info is written to the metadata, but until the pixels are actually re-arranged, when one opens the image in, say PrE/PrPro, or InDesign, the Images show the pixels, and their order. It is not until one actually Rotates the Images, re-arranging the pixels, and then Saving, that the desired orientation is obtained.

  • Slideshow in Elements 13 won't import to Premier Elements to burn DVD

I created a slideshow in Elements 13 and tried to create a DVD of it.  When it went to import to Premier Elements, I got an error message that the file couldn't be imported because I lacked the required codec .  I am working on an iMac 14, OS X 10.9.5.  How do I find/download the "missing" codec (I purchased this bundle specifically in order to do this!!)?

OK I think the problem is probably related to the platform swap and you may need your account re-set. Only Adobe staff can do that.  You need to contact Adobe directly using the link below. Use the dropdown menu for boxes (1) & (2) to scroll down the list and choose:
    1. Adobe Photoshop Elements
    2. Adobe ID, and signing-in
    3. Click on the blue button: Still need help? Contact us – then click the area marked chat 24/7, then click “start chat ”
It’s usually possible to start a live chat, if an Adobe agent is free, and often to get the problem fixed right away. Have your serial number and previous case number available. The agent can directly troubleshoot your system if you agree to activate the Adobe Connect add-on.

  • Elements 13 will not open slideshows from Elements 11

Upgraded to Photoshop/Premiere Elements 13 and when I try to open slide shows created in Elements 11 and edit them I get a message "Please select some media."
Slideshows still open and work in Elements 11.
    Thanks

No, the slideshow is completely different in PSE 13. It won't open any former slideshow projects made with the old Slide Show Editor.

  • Slideshow in Elements 9: Shows some pictures as "broken"

    Hi
When I run a slideshow from Elements 9, the "View/Edit/Organisein Full screen" option, quite a few of the pictures appear "broken" and a "broken" type icon appears.  It seems to get worse after that. I'm showing an album of 90 pictures, mixture of JPEG, PSD, RAW files.  At first I though the app only supported JPEG but when I stop at the broken file, locate it, and start the slideshow from there, it dissplays fine.
Is this a known bug or limitation?  Any fix or workaround?
I have PSE9 and 9.0.3.0 patch installed.  Running on a i7 Dell PC with 4GB RAM (so in  theory plenty horsepower)
    Any advice appreciated
    thanks

Have you looked at Delete and Close Gap as well as Delete for what you describe?
Nonetheless, adding or moving clips to an existing Timeline content without disturbing the existing Timeline content can be challenging and complex under certain scenarios.
Typical solutions include making these moves with a keyboard modified held down (Windows Alt or Ctr). I am strictly an Elements Windows user, so we will need to find the Mac counterparts for the Windows keyboard modifier techniques.
Also, if one move triggers a multi-chain disaster, then you should consider grouping block of clips so that they do not move while you are busy with your Timeline maneuvers. Check out the Clip Menu options for Group and Ungroup.
Some times in the "Mac condition", you need to use fn in addition to the command to achieve some of these Windows counterparts.
The following video tutorial on arranging clips and keyboard modifiers is being posted for informational non promotional reasons.
Premiere Elements: Arranging clips on the Timeline using modifier keys | lynda.com - YouTube
It is demo'd with Premiere Elements 8, but the principles are the same for later versions of the program.
Here is one variation of the issue on Windows.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE: Delete and Close Gap Failures
You should not have to delete audio to prevent it from being split by an addition to an existing Timeline. The keyboard modifiers should help you resolve this type of issue.
    Please review and consider.
    Thanks.

  • When I transfer a slide show from elements to Premier Elements, many slides are rotated.

Why do my slides rotate 90 degrees when I transfer the slide show from Elements (9) to Premier Elements (12)

    BERLARKER
Thanks for the follow up with additional information.
Elements Organizer 12 Premiere Elements 12 Editor
Bottom line: I suspect that you have stressed out the system with too many photos oversized for the project settings. But let us explore the situation to confirm or refute that first impression.
    Details:
If you have a 44 minute slideshow and photos each with 5 second duration, then my guess-estimate would be that your slideshow has about 528 photo with pixel dimension of 3264 x 2448 (4:3) or 2448 x 3264 (3:4).
First concern, too many photos with pixel dimensions oversized for the project....you may have to resize your photos not to exceed 1000 x 750 4:3.
When you output this slideshow from the Elements Organizer 12 Slideshow Editor, you cannot use both "Edit with Premiere Elements Editor" and "Save As a File MOV (wmv):".
For now I will assume that you are using "Edit with Premiere Elements Editor".
Unless you are setting the Premiere Elements 12 Editor project preset manually, you are ending up with the wrong project preset
The Premiere Elements 12 Editor project preset is probably its default NTSC AVCHD Full HD1080i30 (a 16:9 project preset) instead of NTSC DV Standard (a 4:3 project preset). .
If all my assumptions are correct, then
    1. In the Elements Organizer 12, create your slideshow with your 528 photos each with pixel dimensions not to exceed 1000 x 750 (could go higher if you can do so without jeopardizing the workflow...but, no matter how high the resolution, the end product will reflect the resolution of the export format, 720 x 480).
You are going to output the slideshow using Edit with Premiere Elements Editor.
    2. Before you hit the Edit with Premiere Elements Editor choice in Elements Organizer 12 Output, open Premiere Elements 12 Editor Expert workspace, and set the project preset manually to NTSC DV Standard.
    File Menu/New/Project and Change Settings
In Change Settings, change the project preset to NTSC DV Standard
    OK out of that area.
In the new project dialog that appears, make sure that you have a check mark next to "Force Selected Project Settings on this Project".
    OK out of that area.
    Minimize Premiere Elements Editor.
    3. Open the Elements Organizer 12 again, and hit Edit with Premiere Elements Editor.
Premiere Elements 12 Editor will open...you will see a folder for slideshow assets and a video file for your slideshow in Project Assets...on the
Timeline you should see your slideshow in the video format. If you want to do further significant edits of the Timeline content which is now in
a whole video format, right click that Timeline content and select Break Apart Elements Organizer Slideshow.
Please review and consider. Perhaps do some mini test runs to define your situation further.
We will be watching for your results. If any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • Transferring completed slideshow from older Elements software

I own Elements 5.0, and for the first time created a 38 minute slideshow. I have found I like the software and am thinking of upgrading because I learned that my slideshow is captive within 5.0 and I am unable to make a dvd of it. I have downloaded a free trial of the Elements 11.0 & Premier Elements 11.0 to see if it is worth paying for an upgrade. I would like to burn my slideshow to a dvd to prove to myself that the upgrade is worth the price and that in fact I can share the creations I make. I don't want to make this slideshow all over again in the new software - it took literally days to make. I understand that it will have some watermark until I purchase the newer software, I just want to make sure I can transfer my slideshow between Elements versions first before buying.
This is what happens: I can't seem to transfer the slideshow from 5.0 to 11.0 premier. How do I do this? In the 5.0 organizer I go to the file menu and chose 'open creation'. I choose the creation and hit 'ok'. The slideshow editor opens with my 38" slideshow there. The 'output' button does not have a choice of Elements Premier. I have tried 'saving as a fil' (choice of movie file, .wmv, or pdf file). I have saved a pdf file of the slideshow to my desktop but there is no sound and the fading and special effects between slides is lost. I have tried saving the movie file to my desktop but the resulting movie file is empty and just black when clicked on. When I choose 'burn to a disc' the software just abruptly closes. If I choose the Edit button in the slideshow editor the software also abruptly closes. Clicking the Edit button in the Organizer does not close the program, but most of the choices are grayed out and if I choose the 'go to full edit' choice, I get a message 'unable to connect to the editor application'. Plus in the Organizer my slideshow is not visible, so it seems I have to be using the slideshow editor and not the organizer to move the slideshow file.
I have also opened the Premier Elements 11.0 and tried to import the file from 5.0, but it doesn't seem like Premier sees it or I don't know how to tell it what to look for. I have all the softwares saved as icons on my desktop - probably from my writing you can tell I am not very computer savvy.
I am stumped. Shouldn't there be a way to move a slideshow from 5.0 to 11.0 without having to do it all over again? There would be no way to create that long a slideshow exactly the same way. I am tearing my hair out over this - can anyone help? Thank you very much!

Actually, it might not have been, but after trying so many things – I am not sure how it actually worked. Somehow I save the slideshow to the organizer, where my pictures were, and then from there I was able to use the edit tab once I selected the slideshow – and chose ‘output as wmv file’ which then let me save it into my videos folder on the hard drive. From there I could burn it to a dvd. Prior to that I was trying to work out of the slide show editor itself because the actual slideshow was only located there and that is where when I clicked on the edit button the program shut down, and the output button had no premier elements choice. To move it to the organizer I think in the slide show editor I went under ‘file’ and chose ‘save as’ and saved it to the organizer. Once I did that I followed what I wrote above. Beforehand I was trying only to make a copy out of the editor and not the organizer. So this was something new I just tried.
Editor/organizer – so complicated between the 2 for a first time user trying to push out a high school team’s slideshow for their party – having done nothing of the sort before and finding this old 5.0 elements software on a shelf here at home which I had bought years ago and never used.
So also – what I had read about needing elements premier to burn to a dvd must not be true, since I ended up doing this all through 5.0 – unless having the trial version of 11.0 elements and premier downloaded onto my computer allowed it to happen somehow.
**Do you know if there is a lot that has changed between 5.0 and 11.0 which would make it worth paying $120 to upgrade to 11.0 + premier?, since now I have figured out how to create a dvd out of 5.0 without having premier (unless it is the presence of the trial on my computer that is allowing me to do this, which will go away and then I will be stuck again...)
    Thank you again,
    Laurie

  • My computer has some serious problems, my iphoto only shows thumb size pics when I try to open them, i tried to rebuild my files from folders that had the pics in them. originally all the photos has a large delta with a question mark. also I can't back up

my computer has some serious problems, my iphoto only shows  only shows thumb size pics when I try to open them, i tried to rebuild my files from folders that had the pics in them. originally all the photos had a large delta with a question mark. also I can't back up the library file because its not there. I went to time machune and tried to find the file but I can't find it or I am looking in the wrong place. I also lost my Idvd file, only have broken chain showing.

    Details please
What version of iPhoto and of the OS?
i tried to rebuild my files from folders that had the pics in them.
Exactly what did you do and how did you do it? this ay be the cause of your issue but without details we can n=ony guess
my iphoto only shows  only shows thumb size pics when I try to open them,
where do you see htis? In the iPhoto window? what does "try to pen them" exactly mean?
originally all the photos had a large delta with a question mark.
Ok - this usually has a simple solution - do you still have a copy of the library that has this problem?
also I can't back up the library file because its not there.
This makes no sense at all - all of your previous statements indicate that you do have an iPhoto library but have some problems with it
By default your iPHoto library is located in your Pictures folder and is named iPhtoo library - if tha tis not the case the you have moved or renamed it and only you know what you did until you tell us the details
I went to time machune and tried to find the file but I can't find it or I am looking in the wrong place.
Again unless you actually share what and how you are doing thing but continue to simply state abstract problems it is no possible to assist you - details on using Time Machine are here  --  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US   --     and   --    http://pondini.org/TM/FAQ.html   ---
I also lost my Idvd file, only have broken chain showing.
This would be better addressed in the iDVD forum - but again unlesss yu share detailed information no one can assist

  • How do I get music from itunes into my slideshow in elements 10

What is the procedure to get music from itunes into a slideshow in elements 10?

If your music is in iTunes own format, you'll need to convert it first. Elements works best with .wav files. Here is the Apple article on making conversions:

  • Create interactive element (slideshow) from file?

Hi,i'm using InDesign CS6 with DPS. Is there a way to create a slideshow from an file (XML for example)? My objective is to create all pages needed and attaching all images in the slideshow from a database. Thanks in advance.

Sortof. You can use the Data Merge feature in InDesign to build out a set of pages based on XML content and images. That makes it easy to automate the creation of a whole bunch of pages with an image on it. You can't, however, use it to automate making multi-state object slideshows.
I wrote a blog entry a long time ago about how to use this feature to make a PDF to submit to Blurb with images from Lightroom. You may find it useful: http://www.danecreek.com/blog/2010/02/14/creating-blurb-pdfs-using-lightroom-and-indesign. html.

  • Can not login to Revel from Elements 12.

My pictures are not uploading to Revel Premium.  The option to "Sign IN to Adobe Revel" on File menu from Elements 12 is greyed out...so it appears we can not login.  Any ideas?

I do not know how to paste a screen print to this message.  I pasted it to a Word doc but can't find a way to attach it to this message The inability to sign into revel to sync my account is just one problem I am having, not sure if that is why my pics won't go to my revel account or not. (By the way, I am not using an iPad app, I am using my Macbook Pro to sign into Revel via internet.) I was signed in a couple of weeks ago just fine and the pics still would not sync to Revel. (I read on a forum to disconnect then to shut the program down and then restart and sign in to get it to work.  Ever since then it has not worked.) Before  I upgraded to a paid subscription, pics would upload until I met my free # of uploaded photos. Since I upgraded to a paid account, no more will move to Revel.  I have created mobile folders in Elements and Revel will show the 4 folders I have created but they are grey boxes with titles, but no pics inside.  The only pics that are on my Revel site are the few I was able to load when it was a free site.  No more.
I REALLY need help and have spent countless hours reading every forum, blog post, and problem solving site.  Last week I chatted with adobe customer service who had me look at every setting and I apparently have every setting the way it should be to work correctly (except that now I can not sign back into Revel from Edit > Preferences > Adobe Revel -- "Sign in to Adobe Revel" option is greyed out.)  They told me that I could call the help line and I would not be charged for the call because I have purchased the software.  (A lie.) I called the phone number he suggested and they told me it would be a $29.95 charge for receiving any help with this matter.  I told him I am not paying another $30 after I have spent $100 on the Elements software and another $60 on Revel and can't even get it to work.  He suggested I chat with someone from Revel department.  He walked me through to get me to the right place to chat. The new person on chat was unable to help because he was in "customer service dept." and did not have ability to help with technical problems.  He said I could post my problem in the forums but since I had posted another problem 7 days before that was never answered I was reluctant. So I ask, what am I to do??  I can not get the software to work. I spent around 3 hours that afternoon trying to get help.  I spent at least 5-6 hours before that trying to fix it myself by reading all the helps and "work around" solutions on the adobe site.  I have since then been trying to find a way to save my pics to an external drive because my husband noticed that when on my Elements program under Help>Updates that a error message pops up that says "Adobe Photoshop Elements 12-Your application install seems to be damaged, Please reinstall the application."  Unfortunately I am scared to death about losing all my hours of editing pics, organizing photos into folders  that I have already done because the program will not allow me to "back-up my photos" on an external drive when choosing that option.  I'm currently saving each folder to the desktop and then manually saving individually to an external drive because that is not working either.  I am not sure any of this is necessary but I feel I must be prepared if I have to call and spend the ridiculous $30 to get help to finally use the software I purchased a month ago, and they tell me I must uninstall and reinstall the program.  By the way, an Adobe Technician installed it for me "remotely" when it would not install the paid version after using the trial version , so if it was done incorrectly It is not my fault.  I just need some help and am beyond frustrated.  If I had not already sunk so many hours into editing and organizing, I would demand a refund and find another software program that actually works that also has a physical person I can talk to if I have a problem.  I mean--any company should at least supply help for a short period of time to make sure it is working after installed. I am so short on time to work on this and just really need help to get this working.

  • Adding audio to slideshows using Elements 11 and itunes.

Upgraded to Elements 11 from Elements 9
    Running Windows 7
I am doing a slideshow and would like to add audio from my itunes library.  When I click to add audio and browse my itunes library, nothing shows after I click on the album. In an older version, I would change the file to a WAV file and it would insert fine.  The new itunes does not let me do that anymore onlyl to an AAC file (not sure what that is ) when I try that they say it is protected and can't change it.  How can I add audio files to my slide show using itunes?
    Thanks

Once, iTunes did not have a way to get their music into programs, like PrE, at least not directly.
Back then, the workflow was to go to iTunes, create a Playlist for the necessary iTunes music, then burn THAT to an Audio CD. Once done, one would take that CD into a program, like the free Audacity, to rip the CDA format, then Save_As WAV, choosing PMC/WAV @ 48KHz 16-bit. Those WAV files were then Imported into PrE.
At some point in time, they relaxed things a bit, and many had no issues with a direct Import from iTunes.
Now sure what they are doing now, but many like using music from other sources, rather than iTunes.
Neale has linked to a conversion application, however I have never used it. OTOH, if Neale recommends it, then it should work just fine.
Also, according to Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/supported-file-formats-premiere-elements.html, AAC is a supported Audio Format.
As I seldom use any music from other sources, beyond SmartSound, I have not stayed current on how iTunes works.
    Good luck,

  • Converting from Elements 7 to Elements 13

I imported the catalog file project from Elements 7 to Elements 13 from portable drive.  Picture files with modifications were restored but not my slideshow project file. What is the best way to restore the original slideshow project from Elements 7?

I think you need to look at whatever sources you can find. You have seen some posts here. You might also take a look at my site where there is some information about RoboHelp 8.
Then you need to consider whether anything you have read outweighs your reasons for upgrading.

How can I export a slideshow from iPhoto to iMovie 09.  I try, but it only exports 211 out of the 311 photos I have in the slideshow I made on iPhoto.

how do i change the format to the right one?
Before you can decide what to do, you have to know what you are starting with. Sony MPEG-1 files would be converted one way while DivX or WMV files would likely be handled in another. Extraneous tracks can be removed directly with QT Pro but if you don't have QT Pro then there may or may not be other work around possibilities depending on the specific audio and video compression formats in use. The best place to start would normally be to double-clic the source file in iPhoto to open it in the QT Player. When it opens in the QT Player, check the "Inspector" window to see what it says on the "Format:" lines. This will tell you the type of audio and video content you are dealing with here. Then come and tell us so we can offer some specific conversion solutions.

  • Converted to Lightroom from Elements 5

I installed the trial version from a link found in a message on this forum and imported from Elements 5. Luckily, I only had something less than 3000 images loaded into Elements and hadn't done serious tagging on most of them. I decided to use this trial version of Lightroom because I only decided yesterday to switch from Elements to Lightroom and ordered the shipped version so, being impatient, I would have to go with the trial version tomorrow anyway.
How did the import go? Well, not perfectly. It went well until the end when Lightroom crashed just after it finished importing. I wasn't even touching the computer when it did that. However, when I brought it up it looked OK.
For some reason it decided to have some of my keyword tags nested and some not. In other words, the same tag would appear nested under something and not nested. I had no idea how to merge tags (surely this is something one would want to do?) so I think I ended up losing some tagging, but I can live with that. Some other tags had lost their hierarchical structure but at least weren't duplicated.
Folders also had lost their structure but that looks to be just an issue of dragging and dropping to fix it. They aren't physical folders in Lightroom.
My most serious issue for me is the capture date. Elements supported not knowing the day and/or month. They are coming in here differently. July 1952 is June 30, 1952. I had previously checked and Exifer does display just what I entered in Elements: if only the year, then only the year, if the month and year, then the month and year. This is not coming over in Lightroom.
I have thousands of slides we are scanning and I almost never know the exact day any slide was taken. I'm lucky to know the month. I was overjoyed that the capability existed in Elements to specify what you do know and not have to make up more that you don't know. I don't know how that is actually stored in the exif info, but like I said, Exifer did understand it.
Any suggestions about what to do? Elements can't simply have used the last day of the month before or the last day of the year before because surely you could specify those dates explicitly.
I'm going to have to get used to working with Lightroom. I was able to do things pretty quickly in Elements. Lightroom has a lot of stuff displayed on both sides and I have to figure out how to move around quickly. In paricular, the metadata area doesn't stay put to type in location, for example. The use more metadata fields and not just tags is one of the major reasons I am switching to Lightroom. I have lots of tags as well. I guess recent keywords are going to be very important.
So now I have to go read the help, which so far doesn't seem very helpful.
I had played around with Beta 4 so I know something about Lightroom.

Can't be physical folders because they came in structured incorrectly compared to my disk. OK, they are physical folders in the sense that they contain what the corresponding physical folder contains but they do not need to have the same structure as your physical folder system.
I was able to drag a couple of folders into the same relationship as my physical structure and it didn't do anything to my actual file system. Hum. I'm going to have to play around with this. The help is not very good.
Version sets did not survive together in any way. Stacks seem to be stacked. I had more version sets, though. I guess I stack them.
