Slideshow, how to make clip the same length as audio file?

Hi
I've got several PowerPoint presentations and need to make an MP4 video file for each of them. I know how to export the slides as still images, and I also have the audio files broken up into individual mp3 files that match each slide.
I'm trying to figure out the most efficient way of getting the slides and audio files synced in Premiere Elements.
Yesterday I imported all of the png images and mp3 audio files into my project. But I had to individually add each image, followed by the mp3, and then in the timeline manually stretch the image to make it last the same length of time as the audio file. It was rather tedious and I have a lot of presentations with many slides to work with. I'm sure there must be some better way to make all of this happen, right?
Can anyone help me out here?
1. Is there a way to make the image clip match the time of the audio clip?
2. Is there a way to import all of the audio and image files at once (given they have the same names) and have PE automatically associate the image clip with the audio file?

1. You can place the audio file in the Audio 1 track of the timeline first (Timeline, not sceneline)
2. Next drop the image to where the audio file starts. Now press "\" key
3. Drag the end of the clip to exactly where the audio ends. Whe you are near the end of the audio with the drag it should simply stick to it.
4. Group the audio and image file together (Right click and select group after selecting both these together)
5. Select the clip and do a right click and use the Fade-In and out option. You can fade in the video and let the audio simply continue. This makes it look and sound good.
6. Place the next audio file and go on doing the same till all of them are done. The grouping step is not needed but when you keep working with PRE, you might just thank me for it!
I tried all these steps just as I was typing this post, so I can tell you for sure that PrE10 works as if it is designed JUST for this use case. So hoping you get to complete the project on time and with good quality!

How to make hyperlinks the same colour

I'm pretty new to indesign and i'm slowly picking it up. In my excitement of getting my work done I started hyperlinking some links in my content. Only problem is that the colour is not consistent for the hyperlinks as I had to do them one by one and thus the colours are slighty off. Is there a way I can select all hyperlinks and make them the same colour?

Go to the Swatches panel and in the menu click on "Add Unnamed Colours" (unless you already have them in your swatches menu). Then rationalise those swatches by deleting them and replacing them with the one you want. From now on use that swatch to make your hyperlink. Better yet use a style for it.

How do I add the same metadata to numerous files

I do voice over work and need to add metadata to hundreds and hundreds of audio files. Some of the data is the same for ALL of the files. Is there a way to autofill any of the meta data? They all have the same artist, same genre, recording date, composer, technician, and copyright info.

Vista - how do you make iTunes the default player for audio files?

Having started using iTunes on a new Vista PC, I've found that it defaults back to Windows Media as the default audio file player every time the machine is rebooted.
But worse than that, I cannot find any option to make iTunes the default player for MP3 files - under the Vista settings, the ONLY option offered is Windows Media: there is not even a box to tick for iTunes.
Have others found this? Is there any way around this?
(I thought that Microsoft was legally precluded from making these kind of enforced settings now???)

Although I now seem to have successfully made iTunes the default player for audio files, iTunes has started putting up this message:
"The iTunes Music Library file cannot be saved. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."
A quick scan of the forum shows this problem has come up quite a few times, but I'm far from clear if there is a definitive answer/solution. I am the administrator for the computer. It sounds worrying that the Library file is not being saved - should I be worried?

Layout Builder & Runtime Layout differences. How to make them the same ?

When I design my layout, I run the form (with generic look and feel) and the layouts arent the same.
There is more space between lines on prompts, and where I have several rectangles intersecting at edges, they are in slightly different positions on the runtime, making things look very messy.
Presumably these layout builder is meant to show you the layout you will get at runtime ?
Seems a bit of a pain if you have to run the form, then making a few adjustments, rerun it to see if things are in the right place etc.
Any ideas what I can do about it anyone ?

I beleive My explanation about the case is not clear,
I want to migrate a .fmb file developed in Forms4.5 (Character Mode) to the Latest version say Forms 9i(GUI).
As I opened the file in the Forms9i environment some automatic validation and migration took place.
In the Layout editor the Items appeared displaced as the effect of conversion from Character mode file to BitMap file. So I manually Increased the Width of each Text Item to a single Space. (Note: Iam not using the ifcmp90.exe syntax as I didnot go upto the compilation level as of now).
I increased the width of the text items to one space to adjust the bevel effects of the web deployed forms.
I moved the objects to exactly position before the prompts
and as frames are not available in the character mode they have used straight line objects to seperate the items in the layout. These Lines I resized to adjust the form to accomodate the increased width items.
But I moved these lines a bit apart from the items and increased the vertical space between the items in the header section . These two changes alone is not taking place.
If this your understanding, kindly let me know how to send the sample to Oracle Support

MapIDs - How to make them the same as the Filename.htm?

I'm fairly new to Robohelp, hoping the experts can take it easy on me!
We're in the process of converting our old WinHelp projects to Microsoft HTML Help projects. We previously had 10 separate .HLP files for our project, we're hoping to condence all of those into a single CHM file.
In our previous projects, our MapIDs were as follows from the .HH file:

#define HELP_Add_Column    6181
#define HELP_Add_Control_Unit    6537
#define HELP_Add_Copy    17043
etc.
After converting our projects from WinHelp->MS HTML Help, each one of these topics created a new HTM file, ie: "Help_Add_Cables.htm", fine, no problem. But when I bring up the "Edit Map IDs" dialog, its now showing me the Topic ID ("How to Add Cables"), and not the HELP_XXX_XXX name that is used throughout our product. As a result, we would have to go through our source code and update approximately 1000 Map IDs - yuck!
Is there a way to force this dialog to use the Filename, and not the Topic Name to generate the .h file? Is there some fancy editing I can do in Ultraedit instead of using Robohelp to get the result I want?
I notice there is an alias file as well, that appears to correspond between the Topic Name, and the .HTM Filename.
We were previously using Robohelp 5.xx, and recently upgraded to 8.0.1.204.
Anyhelp you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I created a small RH script that quickly assigns TopicId's and mapnumbers to your topics, based on the filename. Hope it helps.
First, the script adds a map file called 'RHScriptMapFile'. No checks whether it exists or not.
Then, creates a TopicId for each topic based on the file name. It just strips the '.htm' from the filename and replaces spaces in the name with underscores. A sequential mapid is added. The script is nothing fancy, but I hope it shows how you can quickly create a script that will save you from changing a thousand id's by hand.

I use Firefox at work and home. I have different screens on thee two computers. I can't figure out how to make them the same even though all settings match.

At home the address bar etc is grey but my settings are for rose. At work using the colour settings the address bar is rose. I have a different setup with icons on the two screens. At home I have the refresh icon between the search bar and address bar, at work I can't find the refresh icon. I have tried customizing and all I still can't the same screens. Both computers are running Windows XP. I believe I am running the same version of Firefox in both computers.

Many product manufacturers put their product's broucher in pdf form online. I've tried the screen shot capture method for saved pdf files but when the file won't even open online, how do I get to even capture a screen shot in the first place? Is the problem in Safari 6? Many thanks in advance.

So, you're instincts were correct - it is Safari.....
I use Firefox as my browser (I'm not a big fan of Safari or on Windows, of Explorer). When I clicked on your brochure in Firefox, it comes up with a little window asking me what I want to do with the file - and with the "Open With" Preview" button checked.
When I do the same with Safari, it opens a new Safari window, displaying it online, but not downloading it.
So, don't know if you want to download Firefox, but did want to let you know that's why it was working differently for me!

How do I find the tempo of a imported audio file (stereo track song)
in Logic Pro 7.

my way is the old way.
move your file to the end of the song. (make sure SPL is at the beginning of the region)
open sample window.
open tempo list.
set new tempo and slide the tempo until you see the bar display at the top change position and the down beat of the audio file is underneath the next full bar.
hope this makes sense.
you might need to find the next down beat by listening to and then cutting the region at the down beat. that way when you open the saple editor it will be able to see where the down beat is.

How do I find the tempo of imported audio files?

I import music tracks from iTunes to record voice/guitar and want to be accurate in the tempo..

GarageBand does not show you the tempo of imported sound files. You have to count it out yourself. If you do not have a utility that will help you count, like Transscribe or Melodyne, cut a section of 8 (or 16) measures out of your recording and then change the tempo of your project, until this section fits exactly 8 or 16 measures in the timeline. This will give you rough idea of the average tempo, but usually your imported audio will have tempo changes, so I'd recommend to fine-tune the tempo locally using the tempo automation curve of the "Master" track.

Recently changed my ISP and changed my Apple ID and password on my computer to work with new provider. However my Ipad is stuck with the old ID and I can't find anything about how to change it. Any ideas of what to do or where to look?

MY THUMBNAILS APPEAR DIFFERENT IN BROWERS. HOW DO I MAKE IT THE SAME?

My thumbnails for my portfolio page are links to the actual designs. They are placed in a table and the table is divided up into columns and rows for the thumbnails.
The problem is when I view the thumbnails on different browsers for example Opera and Safari it looks different. In Safari it looks the same as I designed it in Dreamweaver but in Opera it spaces the thumnails out. All I want is to have a border around each thumbnail that is equal on the top, left and sides but cant figure it out and to make it the same regardless of browers..I HAVE ATTACHED A SCREENSHOT OF HOW THE THUMBNAILS PREVIEW IN THE DIFFERENT BROWSERS. I have tested other sites in both browsers and they get it right. What am I doing wrong?
Is there a step I am missing when I insert thumbnails and adding links to a thumbnails. I have taken all the borders off of the links. Is that right?

Bemdesign is right. Web design is nothing like print design. There is no reason to lose sleep over this slight rendering difference. But you could style your images with CSS borders & padding.
This CSS code will add 15px of uniform padding & 2px borders to ALL images on the page.
img {padding: 15px; border: 2px solid silver}
Or, if you wish to style thumbnails only, try this in your CSS:
.thumbs {padding: 15px; border: 2px solid silver}
And add the thumbs class to your HTML image code like so:
