Slideshow: Images very small on certain computers

Hi all
I'm having a problem with slideshows created in (or updated to) iWeb '08. When viewed on some computers, the slideshow images are really small, just a tiny little bit bigger than the thumbnails on the page. On other machines, however, my slideshows play fine.
Slideshow not OK (small images) on:
PowerBook G4, 800MHz, 15'' screen (1152x768), 1GB RAM, Mac OS 10.4.10, Safari 2.0.4 or Firefox 2.0.0.6
iBook G3, 700MHz, 12'' screen (1024x768), 640MB RAM, Mac OS 10.4.8, Safari 2.0.4
Slideshow OK (big images) on:
PowerMac G5 Dual 1.8GHz, 23'' Cinema Display (1920x1200), 1.5GB RAM, Mac OS 10.4.10, Safari 2.0.4 or Firefox 2.0.0.6
PowerMac G4 Dual 1.25GHz, Sony 23'' screen (1920x1200), 2GB RAM, Mac OS 10.4.10, Safari 2.0.4
Maybe it's depending on the screen size? Since that's the main difference between these 4 systems (but it doesn't seem to depend on the browser!). Anyone care to check on other machines with different screen sizes?
Tina

I'm so disappointed in the new iweb. it takes forever to upload pictures from iphoto. i made a new iweb page and it's awful. there's mostly black space on the screen. why would they do that? the slide show displays tiny copies of my pictures almost thumbprint size. and the reflections are almost the same size as the photos. looks ********. vertical pictures are even smaller! why did they fix something that wasn't broken. now it is. if it looks this awful on my mac, what will it look to my friends on other computers? didn't anyone test this stuff? i want my old iweb back!!

  • Slideshow view very small on MacBook Air

    Hi gang,
Our blog has a variety of photo pages. When viewed on a MacBook Air, the popup slideshow window fills the available screen space, but the pics are very small and surrounded by a large amount of black space. Also, the slideshow controls are left justified relative to the pics, not centered underneath as you would expect. On other computers the pages display correctly.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers!

  • Since downloading the 2013 Keynote upgrade, the slide image size on handouts with 3 slides per page option is very small. Is there a way to make the slide size larger while still keeping 3 slides per page   lines?

With the new Keynote upgrade (version 6.1), the slide image size on handouts is very small, which makes it difficult to read slide content when compiling lecture notes for students. Is there a way to make the slide size larger while still keeping to a format of 3 slides per page with lines?

A number of posts have reported the same issue, two workarounds:
    1
check the paper handling options or equivalent in your print dialogue box and set to scale to fit

in the Keynote option, in the dropdown menu in the Print section, select Individual Slides
then choose Layout, and set the number of pages, when printed you will have multiple pages on a single sheet.

  • When I send image attachments through Mail they are received as very small and squashed. How can I change this?

I have a problem sending image attachements (e.g., jpeg, png files etc) with the Mail utility from my MacBook Pro.  When people receive my email the attached image shows up not as an attached file that can be saved or downloaded, but as just a very small, squashed up version of the image imbedded in the email message itself.
I usually add these attachments by simply dragging and dropping the desired file into the window of the email text. Is this the wrong way to do it?
    thanks
    Jerry

Is this the wrong way to do it?
The safest way to send images is to create a compressed file and send that.
Click the image you want to send, go to File in the menu bar and select Compress... You end up with a file with a .zip at the end. Attach that to your email. Then trash the .zip file.
The person at the other end only has to double click the .zip attachment.
You can compress are single image or a folder of them.

  • I am unable to print only the first few lines of an e-mail. Also, it will then print in a very small type and will also include extraneous information on the screen that are not part of the e-mail. Is there anything I can do about this annoying problem?

I can only print the first few lines of an e-mail, even when it is on "Full View" on my screen. Moreover, it prints with very small print that is hard to read and also contains additional material on the screen that is not part of the e-mail.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== Since the first day I started using Firefox

I talked to Adobe Support tonight and found this issue to be a known problem with some of the Adobe Cloud products when using older hardware, in this case the C782.
So, we found a workaround. Unfortunately the work around isn’t efficient and adds more steps to their normal printing routine
Open InDesign and create, modify delete the card
    Select FileàExport
A window will appear. Pick the location you wish to save the file
Once the File is saved another window will appear
    “EXPORT Adobe PDF”
An Export to Adobe PDF window will appear. Accept all defaults. MAKE CERTAIN “VIEW PDF
    After EXPORTING” is CHECKED
    Select Export
Once EXPORT is complete the file will open automatically in Adobe Acrobat
Most likely the screen will be very large
Select the + - sign at the top of the page to adjust the page size to view the image
    Select FileàPrint
    The Print window will appear
Select the printer from the drop down
    # of COPIES is just below Printer
    Select OK
I hope this helps anyone who is having similar issues
    Thanks

  • Slideshow image resizing when adding new images

I am creating a series of slideshows on multiple pages. I created one slide show using the "basic" slideshow and resized it to the dimensions and settings I wanted. I have many pictures all of different proportion, therefore, I selected the "fill frame proportionally" so they would all fit the dimension I set. I wanted to use this first slideshow as a template for all of the rest. I added images to this first slideshow with no problems. All of my different sized images scaled or cropped to fit within the dimension I set. The problem comes in when I do two things: 1) When I add other images of different dimensions to this same slideshow gallery, they come smaller that the intended dimensions I set previous. I check the setting and it is still on "fill frame proportionally" similar to the first batch of pictures. 2) The second issue is when copy this slideshow as a template to other pages. When I try to replace or add to the slideshow gallery, the images come in cropped or smaller rather than filling the frame. Again, the settings are still the same from my very first slideshow that worked just as i intended.
I could resize all the images to all the same dimensions using another program like photoshop, but that is another step that is very tedious and it would seem that it should be something built into Muse.
Is there a way around this?. Am I doing something wrong? Or is this just one of those glitches that happens with Muse? I appreciate any help that I can get.
    Thanks!

Hi, I got it to work like this:
Using background colours in Photoshop so that all sizes are the same in pixels. Then manually adjusting thumbnails by double-clicking on them so that a red square appears.
    Cheers,

    Hi there Elsemiekagain,
I had to fiddle around with my slide show to get it to work. That is, it worked at first, then went funky, and I had to fiddle. So much fiddling that I can't possibly know what actually made it start to work again.
And to some degree, this is the way that I find Muse to be in general. That it requires finessing to get it to work as expected. This adds a good deal of time to every development project, though I am getting better at this with practice and experience.
Most of it is not even things that could be easily put in words as instructions, as many are nanced. But in fairness, this version of Muse is a complete code re-write this year. So we do need to cut Adobe some slack, and give the team time to iron things out.

  • How to find inflection point in graph when dx is very small

    Hello,
I'm trying to sort through position data from a feedback pot to calculate linearity of movement as part of a testing procedure. An image of the data is attached. I want to delete all data in the 'flat' part, in order to do a linear fit and R^2 of the sloped line.
This is made trickier by the fact that the number of samples, the start and end points, and slope of the line can all vary considerably. Therefore I need some way to find the 'knee' in the graph and remove all subsequent samples from the data.
The most obvious method I tried was to use a derivative to find the inflection point, but since I have so many data points, the dx is very small
(~0.05) when using the built-in labview derivatives. This means that I can't distinguish the inflection point from any other change in the values due to noise or change in velocity. I made my own derivative function, which was a newton quotient that looked at (xi+N)-(xi-N) instead of (xi+1) - (xi-1), but this still did not give good results. My next idea is to just look at the difference of every N points, and arbitrarily decide a threshold to indicate when it has levelled off. Any other ideas would be really helpful though.
    Thanks,

Lets see if I can answer without having to write a book.
Fisrt I'd run the data through a zero-phase shift low pass filter. Then look at the 2nd derivative to find the knee. Using a zero-pahse shift fileter I was able to detect when a value was jumping up when it started to jump rather than after. THis thread may be interesting.

  • E55 Incoming MMS Images Too Small

I have a E55 bought as sim free but on O2 - a brilliant phone.  All my incoming MMS message images are very small thumbnail size, too small to be of use.  It's not a settings issue with the sender.  I have researched this problem all over the internet and it's not clear if it's a phone set up problem (I've checked out all settings which seem ok) or if O2 network cannot recognise the phone (they don't sell it) so send images small as their default.  I've had this problem previously on other sim free phones on O2.
Surely there must be a solution as it appears to be very common? O2 customer support cannot help, as you might expect.  Anyone any idea?
On a separate note, is there any good S60 software around to tweak the phone under the surface, like there is for windows mobile phones? Is it possible to edit system configuration files and, if so, how and where are they?
    Thanks

have you checked your mms settings and looked at image size
    go to menu/messages /options/settings/multimedia/image size
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

i have just used air display with macbook pro. i have disconnected now from apple tv. but my laptop screen is still very small like its connected to the tv. this means all the tabs and writing is very small. like the display down the bottom where al the applications are, is n the middle of the page and not spread down the bottom. this is seriously annoying! all the writing is every small and the tabs are small and its hard to read.  the air display link has disappeared from my computer. but the laptop screen is still very small. i want to know how do i get rid of this and return my macbook screen to its normal size. thank you

    Hello chrispyw,
If your content is still being displayed incorrectly, I would check the resolution setting for the built in display with this article:
OS X Yosemite: Adjust your display’s resolution
If it keeps happening whenever you use AirPlay then I would use this section of the following article to reset the display system:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.Reset the resolution
Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
    Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
    Restart your computer.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Why are my images so small in Acrobat?

I am using Acrobat Professional 7 and am trying to make a PDF of some ten .jpg images including their file names. Some images appear correct while other images appear to be real small on the page while they are the right size on the thumbnail while others yet are both very small on the page and on the thumbnail. I first thought it had to do with the original resolution of the images but found later that even if all images are 96 dpi some ore fine and others are small. I tried to change settings but no joy. If anyone has a suggestion I would be grateful.
    willem_b

Yes that is how i created the PDF from multiple files. But I probably was not clear. The images are all about the same size, about 1400x1000 pixels at 96 dpi. And so my problem is that they do not appear as the same size in the PDF, some are file, others are very small.

  • HT3226 My iphone 4s fell down on the floor and a very very small bit on the edge of my iphone were broken. Can I insert a new iphone body panel with replace the old one

My iphone 4s fell down on the floor and a very very small bit on the edge of my iphone were broken. Can I insert a new iphone body panel with replace the old one.. ???

I think I had it on the iCloud, I just changed computers and had part of my old computer backed up, where are the default iTunes info saved like the pictures and I know my contacts were backed up cuz I kept getting updated stuff that I wasn't sure about, but it was contacts where some belonged to my wife's contacts....but anyway, if the cloud backed up contacts, it should have grabbed pictures too? Like I asked before, if they were backed up to the computer, is there a default iTunes folder they are saved to? I had a crap load of pictures on there that I usually could really access if I was connected to wi-fi. I turned off my data stuff as I only have 4GB and between me and my 2 kids, we seemed to use up a lot of it. My son would play music from Pandora during work, and use up all our data til I limited him to only 3GB, my daughter and I barely used 1GB. Anyway, thanks to everybody that is answering. I thought I might have done good finding the dang sim card, but pointless I guess.
Ralph - F.Y.I. I would be happy to back up the iPhone if I could turn it on LOL......I am pretty positive I did, but what about Text messages? ANY of those saved too or not? Sorry guys, I don't know a **** of a lot about cell phones, but I do know about memory cards, but not sim cards that act like memory cards or look like them anyway. What is the purpose of a sim card if I may ask a stupid question since they don't hold any data from my phone stuff. I just hope my stuff comes back on the new replacement phone once I get it up and running. Again, thanks to everybody for the edumucation.

  • CS3 Bridge: Preview image too small

    Hi,
    Here's what I'm using:
    Photoshop CS3: 10.0.1
    Bridge: 2.1.1.9
    ACR: 4.6.0.30
No matter what mode I coose (lightbox, horizontal/vertical filmstrip ...), the preview image occupies a very small part of the preview pane and I find no way to resize it. The thumnail pane and the thumbnail images themselves are resizable all right.
I tried purging the cache and that didn't help.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Prabal.

    Hi,
I wanted to report another experiment that possibly points out where the problem is.
    Case 1:
I placed the preview and content panes one above the other. Like so (preview pane at the top):
Then I started pulling the horizontal separator between the two panes to shrink the size of the lower pane and this caused the preview image to starting to get bigger to fit the preview pane real estate space. Look at the image below (and note that the bigger image is not rendered correctly) and note that at the time of taking the screenshot, I did not yet release the horizontal separator:
Finally, just as I released the horizontal separator bar, the image in the preview pane got resized to its initial small size:
    Any clue?
    Thanks,
    Prabal.

  • IPhoto some of my photos have gotten very small.  I don't know how this happened and I can't get them back to normal size.  Any ideas?

I have a large iPhoto library, personal.  Some of my older photos have downsized to be very small.  I am unable to get them back to normal size.  I do not know how or when this happened and don't know if I did something to cause it.  I have upgraded computers several times.  Currently have a 2011 model 27" iMac with 10.7.4.  Any help would be appreciated.

Some of my older photos have downsized to be very small.
Can you explain what you mean by this? Dimension? File size?

  • Why my image comes smaller?

Very often when I press cmd touch in Photoshop CS6 my image comes smaller until to be a little point on my screen?
An other thing, but this time with InDesign when an object selected and I touch the arrow keys to move the object, often it is my document that moves up or down!
Is anyone can tell me how to fix that?
