You created a slideshow in Photoshop Elements and brought it into Premiere Elements, right?
What do you mean it will not stay rendered? When you press the Enter key, the slideshow will render. But, of course, if you change the slideshow, you will need to re-render it.

Problems importing Hi8 to a PC for editing / archiving

Hey Video Experts,
I'm trying to import Hi8 video from my cam-corder through a PCI-E TV Tuner card (s-video) installed in my PC.
In PElements, I'm importing the video by "getting media," using the "Webcam or WDM device" option.    The video does import, but very poor quality, excessive artifacts, packet loss, start/stop, little or now audio... something is obviously wrong.
From several other forums I've seen, it may be that the TV Tuner card is sufficient to digitize the video - this was the intent of including the card in my PC.
So, my questions are:
     1.   Is there a way to use the TV Tuner card and achieve satisfactory results?
     2. Or, do I need some other way to do the conversion from analog to digital.
Footnote.... I purchased Pinnacle Studio several years ago. Using the same set up (PC with TV Tuner card), I got very good results with this. However, the SW went out of date and upgrades were not supported and the SW would no longer load and fuction in it's original state.   This set-up seemed to work before; maybe not with this SW....

It's better not to ask the same question in different discussions. It makes it hard for us to see the whole discussion in a single thread as you might get different answers in the different threads.

Connect your camera through a FireWire connection. You can then use PRE9 to control and capture directly. If your camera doesn't have FireWire then using an Analog --> Digital bridge is your best option.

The solution I use is Camera --> Canopus ADVC-300 --> WinDV. This creates the DV-AVI Type 2 video file that can be directly used in PRE with no further conversions needed.

How to Import DVD content to FCP for editing

My clients always bring us DVDs (both PAL and NTSC formats) for us to insert certain segments into the FCP project.
Questions:
1. We can import the PAL VOB file into FCP PAL project, but the images seems to be broken up in thick horizontal lines. It seems to be related to the interlace but we cannot fix it in FCP, not matter using deinterlace, switch field, de-flicker.
2. No audio can be import in this way.
We cannot digitally import those DVD files into FCP and we can only bring the DVD into FCP using component signals and analog audio through a DVD player.
Any suggestion on how to import the DVD digitally into FCP, both audio and video?

(rem: those DVDs are most created by other post facilities, they are not encrypted movie DVDs, so this problem is not related to encryption or region codes.)

Did you search the forum for DVD ripping? This is a very common problem and discussed all the time
You have to rip the DVDs to a format that FCP understands like, for instance, DV video
You can use software like DVxDVD a decent commercial product or MPEG Streamclip which is free but requires Apple MPEG Playback Component to make it work

Double clicking for editing JCheckBox in JTable under java 1.6?

I have a JTable with JCheckboxes in a column (and associated renderer and editor). All worked good with/until java 1.5.
Now with java 1.6 I have to click two times on the checkbox in order to change the selection...
Anyone has experimented a similar problem??

I have spent some hours over this strange problem finding no way to solve it and no workaround.
Could this be a bug introduced with java 1.6?
Note that the behaviour is more strange as what I hade described in my last post:
- mouse click on a cell with a checkbox: checkbox CHANGE state
- mouse click on other celll with checkbox: NO EFFECT
- click on other celll: checkbox CHANGE state
- click on other celll: NO EFFECT
- click on other celll: checkbox CHANGE state
- click on other celll: NO EFFECT

Hi. My camera is a Canon 600D. And yes my videos are stored in the Aperture library and they are not referenced. Even then I tried to select all the videos in Aperture and clicked 'consolidate masters' and there was a messge that said all 'none of the files are referenced',... so they didn't need consolidating.
I also tried preferences> export> external video editor > choose > iMovie. And then right click on the video to edit with imovie. Even then the video didn't show up in iMovie. It seems like the only option for me is to import the videos directly to iMovie which means there will be two versions of the same file stored in my computer eating up space.

I'm having a similar problem, but only with jpg's. I have PS CS6, CC, and CC 2014. Other image file formats function normally with regard to the "open with" list. PS CC 2014 appears on the list. But with jpg's only PS CC appears on the "open with" list and 2014 can't be added by the browsing for it.
The curious thing is that if I have any of the three versions of Photoshop open, click on Photoshop CC in the "open with" list, the image opens in whatever version is already open on my computer. This is true of all image formats. No matter which version I pick from the "open with" list it opens in the currently running program. I use only the latest version so keeping it open all the time is an easy work around. I won't uninstall any of the earlier versions lest more file association quirks result. it would be nice to have this matter fixed.

Ya is my destination folder I put all my picture in this folder. and then I right click on it --> and then go to get info after that --> this dialogbox window apear and I change all the permission to read and write. when I open light room and import the destination folder Ya. I still meet the same problem " Some import operation were not performed. Could not move a file to the request location." do you have any solution beside of this please let me know.

Which converter / card to import VHS for editing?

I'm trying to import my VHS tapes for editing in iMovie. From what I know, I can either get a TV card with RCA inputs or an external analog to digital converter. Which one of these is the best way to go, why, and any suggestions on which one? Thanks in advance!

The best way would be to use a professional VHS deck run through a full frame time base corrector (TBC) before the signal gets converted from analog to DV.
A less expensive alternative is to use something like a Canopus ADVC-300 converter. It has a line based TBC integrated into the analog digital conversion device.
Hook up your VHS player to the device then firewire from the device to the computer. iMovie should see the signal and you'll be good to go.
The Canopus also comes with software that allows you to adjust chroma, hue, saturation, timing etc which is VERY useful. It saves a lot of cleanup work once you've digitzed the material.

I have a wpf application which has wpftable having columns as name, type, created date, modified date and an image. (On click on this image, edit and delete button will be displayed for each row).
I am trying to do edit and delete operations for a row by giving input as the name as name is unique. I need coded ui test method to traverse through this wpftable identify the row with the name provided, click on the image and select edit or delete
options.

Please anyone provided me code for this in c# for coded ui test. Because for the wpfimage properties added in my respository are very less. Hence facing this issue.

Below is the method I have used. As I have already described the input for my method is the WpfTable, the name for which I need to perform edit or delete options and columnindex (this is used because I need to click on the image. And I have such similar
tables across the application and want to reuse the method. The rowindex changes based on the input name but the columnindex would be same).

I will use this method, which clicks on the row for which I need to perform edit or delete operations. Then I click on Edit or delete button.

The date information is taken from the camera which writes it to the file. This needs to be set to the correct date and time in the camera itself.
The order the images are shown in the Library mode is set by clicking on the sort button in the tool bar, which if not showing can be activated from view, tool bar. There are different sort orders that can be applied including sorting by file name. You can also sort by dragging the images to the order you wish them to appear in by selecting user order.
