Slideshow in Fireworks 8

Is there a way to create a slide show in Fireworks 8? If so,
can someone point me in the direction of a tutorial or something?

That command was removed from Fireworks CS6, and listed among the deprecated features in this Adobe blog post:

Change slideshow size in Fireworks

hi every body
i have created an slideshow with Fireworks, and i have 2
questions:
1: how can i change the dimention of slide show box? it is
too small for me.
2: when i click on a photo it will be opened in another
window but it is still small, how can i change the dimention of the
photos.( i should mention that the photos i use are big, 2000x1800
px but Fireworks ridimention them authomatically!!!!
i tryed to go to Export Option to chang Weith anf heith but
it is not activated so i can't change it!!!!

You need to select the Album for the Export options to be
editable. Once you modify those settings the box will be big
enough.

Import Fireworks slideshow to Dreamweaver page

Hi,
I created a photo gallery (slideshow) in Fireworks CS4 and everything is working smoothly. Now I want to add this slideshow to my Dreamweaver page BUT I am new to this and I don't know how to include it.
I noticed that depending on the type of fireworks player it creates different files (html, swf). I used the FW slideshow template: Player - Black (Flash Plug In not required) and it created an index.html file.
How can I add the index.html page to my website template? I want for it to show after my navigation bar etc.. I don't want it in a seperate file but include it to my PhotoGallery.html page.
I also tried different players and I can't get for it to load. SWF files do not play when i check it in LiveView.
If someone can help me with this I would appreciate it. I have been struggling for a day now and I can't get it to work with any type of player.

I'm new to the Adobe world and I'm liking it! There are so many features in the software that I just want to make sure that I learn the proper way to incorporate the 'objects'.
In the mean time what I have done is created an iframe.

This is working for now but I'm sure there is a better way!!

How to add fireworks slideshow to dreamweaver cs4?

I have created a slideshow in fireworks and saved it to my root directory and linked it to a div within a webpage on www.yssinc.net. The gallery appears but without any of the images. Help! I have seen other posts with this problem but have not seen a solution.

So a plain html page, not a child page of the template?
From your original post you say that you get a 'template error message'.
Are you trying to insert it into an editable region declared in the master template? You can't try and place code into a child page, if it hasn't been prepared to take any code unless it's into a defined editable area.
If it's a navbar of some sort, it should go into the master template page, so that it can be shared across all the pages created form the template.
If I'm way off base - sorry :-)
You may want to upload the pages you are having problems with a provide a link... better to see the code in action if at all possible.

Have you reviewed the Fireworks help files on the subject?
In a nutshell:
Export the slideshow to a specific folder (your site's
local root
folder or a sub folder within it.
From there, you can access the generated html page(s) from
within
Dreamweaver.
If this is not the issue, you will need to be more specific
on the
problems you are experiencing.

Fireworks slideshow: not able to see images thumbnails preview

Dear all,
I have successfully created 3 slides show with caption text and everything, out of the blue the slideshow in fireworks does not work the same way. I create my new album, then select the image and there is no preview on the lower right hand corner, it tells me that the file is not found (please see attached jpg image with a dash circle around it) and I cannot write anything to describe my images because I am not able to see the thumbnail, please help, thanks in advance

How can i trim/remove the outter background and the frame surrounding my slideshow, to import to dreamweaver?

i created a .swf slideshow in fireworks and imported it to dreamweaver, but the image has a rather large colored background and there is a frame around the slideshow itself. Is there a way to only display the photos? am i using the correct application. i am using cs4 web premium.

Aperture allows for trimming the audio of any clip that you drop as background music onto the film strip. The clip appears as a green bar, and you can drag it to the place where you want the music to begin, also you can shorten/trim it by dragging the handles at the ends of the audio region.
For example:
If that does not suffice, you can use iTunes to trim the music. For any song in iTunes you can set the start and end time in the "options" pane of the Information panel. Then create a new, shorter version of the song, using the menu
Advanced -> create ... version.

Creating slideshow in CS4. help!

Hello.
im trying to make a flash slideshow using Fireworks CS4. the only problem is that when i try to choose an export path i choose a path and it doesnt select it in the box.. the export path just shows as empty/blank and because of this i cannot creat the slideshow. Any reasons why it wont properly show the export path that i choose? please help!

Slideshow file: how to work within Dreamweaver?

I have tried to create a slideshow in Fireworks. I have also done the same automated slideshow/gallery creation in Bridge. Neither of them are working when I try to use them in conjunction with the rest of the site, which is done in Dreamweaver. I've checked all of my links, the site is set up locally (root folder on my hard drive) and I've tried several different things. But when I test it, the slideshow doesn't work...the imported graphics links (logo, for example) are missing.
Can it be an issue with the file either Fireworks or Bridge creates for the slideshow is "index.html" which obviously is the name of the home page?
I can't even add a masthead or logo on top and a graphic button link on the bottom to return to the page that would send users back to the main page.
Extremely frustrated at this point. Help please! -Julie

I found a possible way to make it work: added an iFrame within a div tag, with the slideshow I created out of Bridge CS5. However after successfully testing it locally, I uploaded all the files to my hosting company but I'm still trying to figure out why the iFrame content is blank when I visit the link to the gallery pages online.

Hi, at present I have created a slideshow in fireworks cs3. i
was wondering is it posible to import the slideshow to my
dreaweaver home page. I was looking to have a slideshow with images
changing every so often to appear centered on my homepage, with no

Once you've setup your slideshow in iPhoto and it plays as you want it, use the Share->Send to IDVD menu option to send it as a QT movie file to iDVD. It will open iDVD and add the movie to the main menu. Then all you need to do is pick your theme and complete the iDVD project. When complete, use the File->Save as Disk Image menu option so that the project is encoded and saved. This way you can preview it with DVD Player before committing to disk. When ready to burn use Disk Utility to burn the disk image.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Just close the new iDVD project without saving, go to your Movies folder and find the newly created movie. Open your old project and drag that movie into the menu. As Smtr pointed out it'll be the best quality QT movie from iPhoto that you can get.

Hello everyone, I have what would seem like a simple
question? I created a slideshow in Fireworks, posted it to my
server but now the images will not show up. I know that the player
needs to look for them in the correct folder however I can not get

Integration of a Fireworks CS4 Generated Slideshow Into Dreamweaver CS4

I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. I am no dreamweaver expert so I came to you guys for help.
I'm making a layout in photoshop that is going to be exported to dreamweaver. The thing is I want a flash slideshow to be integrated into the layout. But in a way that its is partially covered with a Layer.

I want it to be in the top right corner. I think I can make the flash slideshow no prob, but how to get it there I have no idea.
I thought maybe I could add a layer in Fireworks for the section covering the slideshow (I dont know if thats possible) and then leave the space in photoshop blank. Then I could maybe import the slideshow to dreamweaver. Can I do that? and how? or is there a simpler way?
(BTW I am slicing the Photoshop layout to export)

Hello again Pziecina, just wanted to say a very quick thank you. I think I can get the slideshow to work if I remake parts of my site, but I have 5 assignments on the go and thats not really feasible right now, but what really interested me was the links you posted yesterday regarding CSS. As mentioned I have 5 live assignments and have been spending my mornings/afternoons/evenings whittling them down, and when I posted here yesterday I was a little worn out, and my focus was not what it could, or should be. But late last night I took an hours break and had a proper look at the CSS tutorials you posted, and would like to say a very big THANKYOU, although its a bit off topic, I was a little apprehensive of CSS, but one hour into the first tutorial and Im hooked, thats not to say Im anywhere near proficient, but really enjoyed myself following the tutorial, (even though it was at the expense of assignment time ), so, very glad I came here with my slideshow problem, and thanks again
