Slideshow in HomePage

Hello folks
I have a (to me) beautiful slide show in iPhoto, with music by Jesse Cook. What could be better? However, when I published my HomePage, clicking on "slide show" only allows me to view an enlargement of each photo, no links between them, no Jesse Cook.
Is it possible to get the slide show to work on the www?

You have to export the photos and music you want to use from iPhoto to a QuickTime Movie. This is an option in the export menu. Then upload the QuickTime movie file to your iDisk. This will be a movie, not a slide show. It will show the photos much smaller.
What you did was publish the photos to Homepage as a page. Just photos. It has no connection to the iPhoto slide show with music.

Hero slideshow on homepage is un-pinned, yet doesn't move vertically w other content when scrolling

I've created a hero slideshow on the homepage. It is "unpinned", however it doesn't move vertically with the rest of the content when scrolling up/down. It stays in its same spot and the other page content scrolls correctly.

Sadly, it is showing as unpinned in my file and I re-published the file and the carousel is still stuck. I've attached a screen capture showing the webpage (left, scrolled) and the muse file (right).
I'm sure this is something I'm doing wrong, do you have any other ideas?

If you don't work for Adobe and are just a Good Samaritan/Angel, do you know of any manuals/reference books that might help me? I've worked in psd, ai, indd for many years. But attempting the web side of design is killing me, and I'm likely to lose my client if I can't get his site together soon. Thanks again!

Slideshow issues - "homepage" style

I've been having the generic "There were problems publishing to .Mac" and I've yet to find a solution that works for me. In the process of troubleshooting though, it seems like all of my slideshows are now "homepage" style slideshows instead of the black/reflection/iphoto style of slideshow.
Any ideas how this could have happened or how I can fix it?

Right, if you publish "to folder" then that's what
you get. Only publishing directly from iWeb to .Mac
gives you the "enhanced" slideshow
AHHHH. That makes sense. Well then, since I can't publish to .Mac at the moment, I guess I'm out of luck until they fix whatever issue people seem to be having.

Small camera movie in slideshow

How do I successfully include a short movie in a slideshow? The manual says I can do it, but have had no luck.
I have tried (from iPhoto) sending an Album and/or a Slideshow with 2 small movies embedded. Yet, in iDVD there is no sign of the movies in the exported album/slideshow. So then I think maybe that I can import the movies via iDVD>iPhoto. However, they they are nowhere to be found, even though they are in iPhoto.
I have tried and tried, and it's driving me crazy. Any help would be appreciated.

First, in iPhoto, export your slideshow as a QuickTime movie. Go to File>Export. Then open iDVD, and drag the icon for this movie into the window. Use this link to check out Old Toad’s diagram for how to add movies to an iDVD slideshow:

How to "go back" in Bc

Hello,
I am new business catalyst and web design in general, so bare with me if I don't understand everything you are asking.
I was wondering if Business Catalyst had a history box where I could resort my site back to the way I had it. I was looking around through the pages of my site (trying to change page name "blog" to "projects"), and when I refreshed the page on my site my homepage slideshow, and homepage "text boxes" were gone. I didn't touch any code at all! they just, disappeared. I listed the link to the site below.

Hi Taylor,
You have on pages and templates the archive and rollback options but only in some parts of the platform. If you change javascript files or images, unless you keep local backups of those - they are now premaritally changed and can not be undone.

Nothing fancy for Court

I have to burn several short clip to submit to the Court for review. The clips run from 30 seconds to five minutes. I can't edit the clips and my lawyer doesn't want anything added if possible (title, chapters). Can this be done in iMovie 08?

You can do it in iMovie. You could also just drag the video clips directly into an iDVD project. You can make a simple nonthemed iDVD project and put the clips into the well for slideshows.

How do you get the files to play continuously?

How do you get the files to play continuously? I created multiple slide shows in IPHOTO. I added them to IDVD and I cannot get them to play one right after another. Instead it goes to the main menu after each slide show.

Did you add them all at the same time into the slideshow area?
First, click on the + sign on iDVD's main menu, then select 'Add slideshow' and put all of them into the drop area. Now they will play continuously.
Here is a visual image from Old Toad that shows multiple videos in the slideshow drop so they will play one after the other, but it is the same for your slideshows:

Examples of iMovie projects...where?

Is there a website that has examples of projects done with iMovie? I'm always on the lookout for ideas that I can include with my corny home movies. I'm not interested in seeing stuff on youtube.com...I'm more looking for examples of stuff people might put together for keepsake reasons like vacations, holidays, special outings etc.

Can an Adobe Bridge web gallery slideshow file be inserted in Dreamweaver as part of the homepage?

Hello. I am designing the homepage of my first website in Adobe Dreamweaver CS6. And I would like for the page to include a slideshow that automatically plays as soon as a visitor opens the webpage. I am interested in using Adobe Bridge to create the slideshow using the feature "web gallery." The tutorials that I've seen describe how to create the web gallery slideshow, then show how it appears when uploaded to the web as an html file through FTP to a server. It appears as a separate page. And I notice that the web gallery file is an index file. I would appreciate knowing how to include the html file as part of the homepage. Will simply renaming the file from being "index.html" to something like "my_first_slideshow.html" make possible including it in the site structure? Or will doing so cause it and the files attached to it to be inaccessable when viewed in a browser? If it can be included in the site, is an <iframe> needed to be in the code for the slideshow to fit into? Thank you.

Where to begin? slideshow? album? homepage?

I'm just learning how to use .mac, and I have about 10 pictures that I would like to share with friends - and rather than just e-mailing them, i'd like to put something together.
I thought about doing a slideshow, which would be my first choice, but if I upload that, can that be streamed by anyone without them having a mac - nobody I will be sending this to uses a Mac - they just have to have quicktime right? do they need iDisk? if I understand correctly, they don't need it if I have uploaded it to my personal page.
next, if I want to show them without a slideshow - do I just upload them to my homepage - or do I make an "album" and upload that?

Hi Michael,
The slideshow is a lot more involved. You can't do that (upload to .mac) from within iPhoto.
For the images in an Album all you have to do is highlight the images you want to share, then hit the Homepage icon and follow the instructions to choose a theme, caption the photos, name the Album, etc.
If you put those images in an Album first and then choose the Album for the homepage...if in the future you want to add more images to that album and upload those to the same photo album you will be given a choice as what you want to do with that album.

Don't worry. If something was up, OnyX would have given you proper warnings and recommendations. On your next render, can you set the render logging to Extra per Frame Info? Also, if you don't mind, untwirl the render info and see, which parts it is processing. Either the life info reveals long file read and write times or the render log may reveal odd variations in teh per-frame render times. A common problem for instance with multi-processing are the first few frames being rendered very fast, but then a longer gap occuring inbetween because the program chokes on writing too many files at once. Similar patterns sometimes appear with network setups or - ultimately relevant for you - with RAIDs that use large cache drives. In the latter case often reducing or turning off the harddrive's internal cahe using the vendor's configuration tool can improve things...

ICab - HomePage Photo Albums/Slideshows

I've been trying iCab recently and have encountered a problem with HomePage albums and slideshows. (No problems in WaMCom and IE.)
iCab support replies have been helpful but produced no solutions.
Clicking on a HomePage photo album thumbnail opens the slideshow window but no picture loads, the activity wheel just spins. The browser then 'half stalls': windows can be closed and menus are available but no page can be loaded via link or URL. This happens using all identities.
However if I click on 'Start Slideshow' that works OK with identity set to iCab, Firefox or Safari. But as Opera or IE the slide show starts, but with no picture, just a tiny frame where the pic should be.
Broadband, no firewall. iCab memory set to 75000.
Any thoughts, please?

The slideshow works with iCab 3 (OS X and Classic), and iCab 2.9 (using Classic).
Clicking thumbnails works with iCab3 (OS X) and iCab 2.9 in Classic, BUT clicking thumbnails doesn't work with iCab 3 using Classic. (I'm not booting into OS 9 to check this out;-) This was with iCab using the default preferences.
I'll double-check this in the morning with the non-public iCab ß423. If it still doesn't work, I'll email Alex. It's probably JavaScript related, but I believe the InScript engine has been updated since the last public beta, so I'll have to check that out first.

How do I import a swf slideshow into my macromedia Flash MX homepage?

I have a macromedia flash mx homepage that I have been
working on. I made a custom slideshow through this company anvsoft
that they say that you can put the slideshow into the macromedia
flash. I can not get anyone to help me do this there though.....
Is there anyone here that can help me import a swf file

Homepage resolution vs. iweb resolution +slideshow complaints

Why is homepage so much better w/ resolution and iweb so crappy?
Why isn't anybody complaining about this?
I want homepage resolution + the homepage slideshow on iWeb, which is way
cooler with the faux steel, without the dumb shadows.

Granted that iPhoto 6 has done away with the direct link to HomePage, but it still includes the Export option, which you can use to re-size your images, upload them directly to your iDisk, maintain the photo order from your iPhoto album and then use as the source for your HomePage photo album. OK, it's two steps rather than one, but it's not a bad deal to my mind if you want to stick with HomePage.
Mind you, the description of your experience while arranging your photos in HomePage is as good an argument as you'll find for using iWeb instead in the first place. The fundamental difference, of course, is between using a web-based solution and using dedicated software on your own machine. There's no contest when it comes to speed and ease of use.
