Slideshow in Windows XP

I've noticed that when a slideshow is displayed on a Windows XP computer that the individual photos don't scale up like they do when viewing the slideshow in Safari on a Mac. It doesn't seem to matter what Windows browser I try - Safari, Chrome, IE or Firefox. Is this a known issue or is there something I can do to fix it?

The simplest way to make a slideshow without adobe photo elements is simply to put collections of photos into folders and sync them to the tv. tv will allow you to add transitions and add a soundtrack from any music you also have synced. In the current version of tv the ending of the slideshow is a little abrupt but I'm sure it will improve in future versions.
I can't think why QT won't convert your QT (slideshow) movies, perhaps you can tell us a little about the movie. Open in QT, open the movie info window and post back the info you find there.

  • Creating Apple TV photo slideshow in Windows/Converting .mov to Apple TV

I have a newly purchased 160 GB Apple TV and am having some difficulty creating a slideshow. Ideally, Apple would offer iPhoto for Windows or I would own a Mac, but neither is currently true.
So, what is the best/easiest/cheapest way to create an iPhoto-esque slideshow in Windows XP? (transitions and audio track)
In my initial attempts to accomplish this task, I have created a slideshow using QuickTime. I opened a music file in QuickTime, then opened an Image Sequence in QuickTime, then copied the image sequence and Added and Scaled to the audio track. Finally, I saved this "slideshow" as a QuickTime movie (.mov). This isn't ideal, because there are no transitions and if the photos aren't all landscape it's troublesome. Nonetheless, I tried to open this QuickTime Movie then use the Export to Apple TV conversion process. Unfortunately, QuickTime basically just freezes when I try this. The progress bar never moves from 0%. Any advice here?
    Thanks.

  • Ow do I keep the slideshow settings window from popping up?

every time I start a slideshow in iPhoto 7.1.1, the slideshow settings window keeps on popping up, even if I save the display and music settings.
This is useless and annoying. Where do I change the settings such that I am not asked about the slideshow settings every time anew?
    thanks for any help!

If your using an album and playing a slideshow with the play button at the bottom of the page hold down the Option key and hit the play button. That will bypass the setting window if you have saved the settings. Those settings will be linked to that album so if you remove the photos and put new ones in the same settings will still be valid.
    Barry:
If the slideshow button is not in the toolbar at the bottom go to the View->Show in Toolbar menu and select Slideshow.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • PE 9 Slideshow editor window is locked half off screen

In Photoshop Elements 9 I was editing a slideshow in Organizer on a  dual monitor setup.  In the slideshow editor window,  I clicked the full  screen option, and  the window moved to a position on the right of the  screen, half off the screen (see attached pic).  I can't use it in that  position, nor move the window back, nor resize it.
I've restored all the defaults I can think of, restarted the program,  rebooted the computer, but still when I open slideshow editor, the  editor window is locked in that unusable position.
How do I move the window, reset the default position, or erase whatever file tells PE9 to place the window there?

    Partial solution
I got PE9 working by deactivating the second monitor and then reopening  PE9 on one monitor.  Then when I edit the slideshow, the edit window  opens on the primary monitor, and continues to do after I reactivate the  second monitor, so I can do the editing.
The problem now is that the edit window fills the entire screen, and  there doesn't appear to be a way to get it back to its original size,  ie, I can't shrink the window.  Any ideas?

  • How do I save then play a slideshow to windows media player?

I have a slideshow created in iphoto that I would like to play on a PC in Windows Media Player. I tried to save it in Quicktime, but it wouldn't play on my PC at work. Any suggestions?

If you have Quicktime Pro you can open the movie in Quicktime Player 7 and export it to a wmv format that will play in the Windows Media Player.
You might be able to convert it with Quicktime Player 7 without the pro option.  You'll have to test it and see.  There are other conversion applications that will do the trick.  Go to MacUpDate.com and search for :convert movie".

  • Slideshows in Windows Vista like in iPhoto?

I've been creating slideshows in iPhoto for about 5 years +, so I've used different versions. My question is this ~ I have a family member whose asked me to help them learn to make slideshows with transitions, music, text, etc. The catch is she has a Window's system, running Vista.
Is anyone familiar with doing some similiar work in Vista and which programs I might start with?
    Thanks.

    Maina':
Go to VersionTracker.com, click on the Windows tab at the top and do a search for "slideshow". That will bring up a number of slideshow applications that run on the darkside that she might use. Or, convince her to get a Mac.

  • IPhoto slideshows for Windows ?

    Hi,
I was not sure which forum to post this in so am posting here too.
I have created a slideshow that will be played following a funeral service of a family member. I created it in iPhoto but found out that it is going to have to be played on a Windows computer.
The person with this windows laptop has a playlist of songs that this family member's wife chose and will be playing it as the slide show loops around.
What is the easiest way for me to export this slide show to a DVD that can be played on the Windows computer ?
I am hesitant to use iDVD because I really don't want to get into the whole iDVD theme stuff. I just want a straight slideshow that is easy for them to set up and play.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
    Thank you !

    This could work:
    1. Create an album with all the pictures in the order you want them to show.
    2. Click the play album, and configure the slideshow settings, make sure that no music is set to play, and click the "Save" button.
    3. Exit that window, and with your album selected, click File > Export and click on the Quicktime tab.
You can configure a few settings there, and that should give you a quicktime movie they can just fire up and play.

  • Slideshows and Windows Media Player

I'm using Windows Media Player to go through a manually controlled slide show. Are there any keyboard shortcuts to advance and reverse?

    CTRL+F (Next/Forward)
    CTRL+B (Previous/Back)
There's a whole list of them under "keyboard shortcuts" in the WMP help file. However, there are two of them, and one is more complete (and more difficult to find), so I just stuck 'em right here for you:
    Player controls keyboard shortcuts
The following table lists the keyboard shortcuts for the playback controls. These keyboard shortcuts may also be available when Windows Media Player is in skin mode, if they are supported by the skin.
To do this Use this keyboard shortcut
Play or pause a file CTRL+P
    Stop playback CTRL+S
    Mute volume F8
    Increase volume F10
    Decrease volume F9
    Play previous item CTRL+B
    Play next item CTRL+F
    Rewind CTRL+SHIFT+B
    Fast-forward CTRL+SHIFT+F
Play faster than normal speed (time compression) CTRL+SHIFT+G
    Play at normal speed CTRL+SHIFT+N
Play slower than normal speed (time expansion) CTRL+SHIFT+S
    Note
Rewind and fast-forward are not available for all files.

  • Quicktime slideshow to windows media?

I have a slide show that is a .mov file. I need to give it to someone who has a PC. How do I burn a DVD to a windows file

Windows OS users can open and view your .mov file with the free QuickTime Player.
To convert to WMP formats requires QuickTime Pro and one of the upgrades from http://flip4mac.com

  • Converting iphoto slideshow (mac) to PSE organizer slideshow (windows 7)

Is there a way to convert a slideshow created with iphoto on a mac to an adobe elements organizer slideshow on windows (vers 7) platform?
Copying pictures is easy but I want to preserve the photo order.
    Thanks!

Nope, sorry. You can import the photos and put them into a PSE album, but you'll have to create the slideshow all over from scratch.

  • I am trying to use songs I purchased from iTunes in my video using Windows Movie Maker.   Can anyone tell me how to do that?

I am trying to use songs I purchased from iTunes, from my library if you will, in my video (slideshow) using Windows Movie Maker.
Does anyone know if that is possible to do?   If so, would you please tell me how to do that?

    Hello, a1p2r3.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
There are a couple options available to you to transfer purchased media to your computer.  Below, I have included a couple articles that outline this process.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848
Please note that this feature works only for items that were purchased on the iTunes Store. Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your iPod to the iTunes library.

  • Windows movie maker dose not seem to work with itunes music.

Windows movie maker dose not seem to work with itunes music anymore. Hear is what happend in a nut shell.
For reasons I can not explain I had to reinstall all my software on my Vista HP notbook. But I only had one why of saving my data music, photos. I had to use my flash drive to save everything as my DVD recoder would not work right at the time.
So I save everything I needed and then did the deed then when that was all done and everything was working right again. I put all my photos and music back to my computer. All my music or aleast most of my music is from itunes some music is from CD I do not have anymore.
My question is when I go to put music with my movie or slideshow with Windows movie maker. A box pops up and tells me that this song dose not have the right codec but it also tell me did I download the right codec. I have know idea what its talking about. Movie Maker worked fine with itunse music before the reinstall. I am thinking I did not save the music right though the music plays great on itunes but just will not import right to my movie project. I am at a lose for words can someone please help me shed some well needed light on this all the help I can get would be a God send thank you.

  • Why does iPhoto 9.5.1 not export slideshows?

Why does iPhoto 9.5.1 stall when I try to export a slideshow, using OS 10.9.3? All steps have been completed, and the preview works fine, but the system hangs up at the "Exporting Slideshow" progress window. The bar never fills. Nada!

Does this only happen for one particular slideshow? Test by creating another, short slideshow using different photos. Can you export this test slideshow? If yes, then probably one of your photos cannot be processed. Duplicate your slideshow and try to find the problematic photo by removing photos from the slideshow and trying again.
If you cannot export any slide at all, create a new iPhoto library for testing. Use iPhoto's "File" menu to create a new library: File > Switch to library > Other/New. Import a few photos and try to export a Slideshow.  If exporting from a new library works, try to repair or rebuild your regular iPhoto library.
You rebuild the library by launching either  iPhoto while holding down the key combination⌥⌘  (option-command)  and double-clicking  the iPhoto icon. Keep holding down the keys, until you are seeing the Library First Aid panel.  Select to "Repair"  the database.
If that does not suffice, try "Rebuild".
Back up your library before rebuilding.

  • Converting quick time into windows movie maker

I wanted to create a basic slideshow in windows movie maker that includes video clips too. I've done this before. However, I have a video clip that was taken on my digital camera and downloaded into the computer. It is a quick time file. I am not able to import this into windows movie maker. Is there a way I can convert this? Or export it out onto my video camera thru firewire? I don't want to spend money on Quick Time Pro 7.

iDVD is the app, that comes "free" with any Mac, to author, encode and burn videoDVDs....
I'm pretty sure, your digicam came with some software, which allows the download to a Windows machine... read the manual.....
or, you ask in some Movie Maker forum?
such .mov files would be imported flawless on a Mac, but Windows?... very little support here...

  • How can I auto start a slideshow?

Is there a way to auto start a photo slideshow? I'd like to skip the index screen and go directly to the slideshow.

iweb1 slideshow can be directly linked, so if you have iweb1; you may like to try that.
now to the bad news, iweb2 slideshow can be directly linked, only if users' browser allow pop-up windows. however, most people DO block pop-up windows.
here is example - please disable your browser's pop-up windows for it to work:
    http://hdl.50webs.com/Direct_SS/Photos.html
that because iweb2 slideshow requires two open windows: photo page window and slideshow page window. slideshow gets the photo from photo page, while photo page is opened. slideshow will stop working when photo page is closed.
in my example, there is one added line of javascript in the photo page ,js file to start slideshow (five seconds after the photo page loaded):
    setTimeout('widget1.playSlideshow()', 5000);
