Slideshow Limitations - Options?

Hey All!
I'm a bit frustrated with the slideshow limitations in Muse. The tooltip widget has decent options, but doesn't have the ability to utilize 100% width.
Master Slider - Responsive jQuery and WordPress Image Slider
Are there any widgets available similar to the plugin above?
Any ideas would be great!

You can try this :

  • IPhoto/iDVD Slideshow Software Options?

I have been unhappy with the resultant quality of slideshows that I have created in iPhoto and exported ('shared') with iDVD. The iPhoto quality is outstanding but I find significant quality degradation in iDVD in terms of clarity and smoothness of Ken Burns effect motion. This poor quality carries-over to the iDVD burned DVD-R.
Does anyone have recommendations for alternate slideshow software options that produce clear, crisp and smooth motion slideshow DVDs?

Have you asked over in the iDVD forum also? Any DVD authoring program will not be as sharp as what you see in iPhoto or on your computer because all media is reduced to 720 x 540 pixels. The same goes for videos. Smaller videos are scaled up and that's where you can lose image quality.
The two links below are to Apple KB documents on preparing stills and videos for iDVD.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/7.0/en/6732.html
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/7.0/en/6675.html
Photo to Movie has received good reports in this forum. When using the KB effect you need to use the largest image available. Not so much with just still photos. As far as videos with motion you did use the Professional Quality setting, right?
In finishing up the iDVD project are you saving it as a disk image first? Then you can check the encoding by playing it with DVD Player before burning. Burn to disc with Disk Utility at the slowest speed available to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatium, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • Where is the "Limited" Option on Workgroup Manager for User Administration Capabilities

Hi, on Lion Server wen we create an OD User, in Privileges window, we had the Administration capabilities: "Limited" Option, but on Mountain Lion there´s only Full and None Options.
There´s another way tio limit the acces to users?

I think you have just gotten the updated layout that Google started rolling out last month: http://insidesearch.blogspot.com.au/2012/11/spiffing-up-your-search-results-page.html
People have been publishing methods for reverting the layout, which mostly involve replacing some of Google style rules with new (old) ones. For example (I haven't tried it myself):

  • Slideshow Export options and AppleTV

Slideshow options seem a nice way to create a quick video of still/video clips (eg for an AppleTV), but unless I'm missing something Export options seem rather limited.
There isn't enough control over encoding parameters.
My first attempt exporting a mix of photos and video clips (30fps source) using the AppleTV setting failed to sync to AppleTV.
Inspecting the file, resolution was 720p but the reported fps was 28fps. That is too high for AppleTV which officially only handles 24fps at 720p but will usually cope with 25fps. Bitrate was also fairly high, nearly 5Mbps the quoted AppleTV limit for h264.
Now I'm not wild about changing fps for video conversion anyway, but I would like to compare the 720p output vs the '540p' option we often opt for to maintain fps with 30fps source material.
Custom dropdown gives very little in the way of options I can see, and codecs are limited to h264/MPEG4 - people might in some circumstances want to export at full quality to add to projects in other apps with greater editing control.
Any idea if you can export with more customisation of parameters?

Aperture 3.0.3 has an option for iPod size through HD 1080p
    As has iPhoto 09
as well as a Custom Export feature, which allows you to choose the Codec
It allows you to choose between 2: Mpeg 4 and h.264. iPhoto can export to anything that QuickTime will support: including - and by no means limited it to - Apple Intermediate, HDV, DV, uncompressed and so on. There are 50 or so codecs I can choose from with iPhoto.
    Uploaded with Skitch!
    /Frame Rate/Width/Height
    As can iPhoto.
As I said, this is odd. You would expect Aperture to have the more options.

  • Bridge CS4 slideshow limitation

I am trying to do a flash slideshow in Bridge CS4 in Windows. I viewed the tutorial, it seemed simple enough. However, whenever I try to do it, there is a limit of only ten files. Even if I drag fifteen or twenty files into the slideshow window Bridge only accepts 10. Anybody else had that problem?

Don't have CS4, but in CS3 there is a limitation to display 10 images in preview window, but don't follow how that applies to a slideshow. Perhaps CS4 is different, but why not just do a sideshow by clicking on that option, no dragging necessary?

  • IDVD slideshow limitations?

I'm trying to make a slideshow of a wedding I shot with approximately 1800 photo's. When I try exporting from iPhoto IDVD hangs after a long time of spinning colorwheel.
I just tried opening iDVD first and then selecting the library in iPhoto that contains all the photo's. It seems like it will work but the time bar shows it stopping at 59:55 with only 400 or so pictures with a few short video clips.
Is there a time limit in iDVD that will only allow you to make a 1 hour movie?
Does anybody have suggestions on another technique, or different software to accomplish what I'm trying to do?

What's your objective? 1800 slides plus videos? If so, this far exceeds the capacity of iDvd (always check project info / status to see how much of the dvd you are currently using). I don't recommend using iDvd for slideshows in excess of 99 images per slideshow. Don't use it for anything over 120 mins. (2 hours max) of QT playback per single layer Dvd-R. If you stay within 99 images per slideshow you will be fine.
If this limitation simply won't work for you then consider other options (ie, Roxio Toast 10 Pro which now includes Fotomagico if I'm not mistaken). But even though Toast has a fit to dvd option, I'm guessing this still won't fit all these images plus videos on a SL Dvd-R. Dual Layer ..... maybe. But then again, who would want to sit through 1,800 wedding photos plus videos? Not me! (at least not all at one time).

  • Slideshow Labeling Options in iPhoto vs. iDVD?

    Hi all,
Are there any enhancements to putting onscreen labels for slideshows (i.e., visible during playback)? All I've been able to find is the ability to "show title" in iPhoto (no font choice, extreme corner of screen) and a bottom-of-screen option in iDVD, which is marginally better, but the panning/zooming and other capabilities of iPhoto don't appear to exist when building a slideshow in iDVD. Any options/upgrades/enhancements out there to improve my slideshow labels? Am I missing something?
    Thanks!!

    KimsDad:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. iDVD can give you what you want except for the Ken Burns effect. It offers only one transition per slideshow also. It will let you put titles and sub-titles on selected slides and assure that the entire slide will be in the TV Safe area. IMO, the image quality is better by building the slideshow in iDVD over that from iPhoto or iMovie.
With a 3rd party editor like Photoshop Elements 4 you can add any text of any size and font in any location to the photos and then use iPhoto's slideshow option. You can set up iPhoto to use the 3rd party editor as part of iPhoto and make it nearly seamless. There is a caveat to this and that is you have to make sure the new file is saved as a jpg and not as a Photoshop Elements file. Other than that there little you can't do with it. Here's an example of some of it's advance editing capabilities.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • WRT610N FTP Administration: Limited Options

I'm wondering if there's a way go get more options for FTP administration, or if there's someone I can contact for feature requests.  Basically, while an FTP server is quite a useful feature, the administration options are very limited, especially for security.
It would be nice if home directories can be set for individual users, and be able to set directory permissions rather than just relying on permissions based solely on group permissions.  More important than anything else, is the ability to monitor the FTP site.  I set up a syslog viewer on my local machine, but its limited to only the connections being made and broken, not allowing to view directory access.
    Any input will be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Iphoto 9.5.1 no codec (mov) slideshow exporting option

    Hi All,
When exporting slideshow to .mov, I can't find exporting options. However, I can choose resolution BUT NOT codec/framerate!
It was implemented on previous versions, but not here on 9.5.X
As I see, Iphoto always exports h.264 at 30fps.
Trying to export .mov on PRORES at 25fps.... no options??
    any ideas?
    Many thanks!

These options were removed at v9.5
    Alternatives to iPhoto's slideshow include:
iMovie is on every Mac sold.
    Others, in order of price:
    PhotoPresenter  $29
    PhotoToMovie  $49.95
    PulpMotion  $129
FotoMagico $29 (Home version) ($149 Pro version, which includes PhotoPresenter)
    Final Cut Pro X $299
It's difficult to compare these apps. They have differences in capability - some are driven off templates. some aren't. Some have a wider variety of transitions. Others will have excellent audio controls. It's worth checking them out to see what meets your needs. However, there is no doubt that Final Cut Pro X is the most capable app of them all. You get what you pay for.

  • Output Module Not Working - Limited Options

After upgrading to After Effects CC I am facing problems when using output modules in the render queue.
I can use one of my Output Module presets as a starting point but when I try to change the settings, it only shows a limited number of options. For example, If I choose a H.264 preset and try to adjust the settings, it changes to show me the options for an AVI and the dropdown list only shows a limited range of options. (see below image)
This is annoying, I can't even change the data rate or audio options of a preset.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Thanks
    Aidan

Rendering h.264 from the output module will work like it did before. The problem with using the Output module is that h.264 movies will just not look very good when compared to movies rendered with the Adobe Media Encoder with the same data rate. Sure you can jack up the data rate and get better looking movies, but all GOP compressed (mpeg) formats require multi pass processing to reduce motion and color artifacts at data rates suitable for distribution. That is why you are better off rendering highly compressed video using the Adobe Media Encoder.
The only time you don't want to render a composition directly in the AME is when you are using GPU accelerated Ray-traced rendering for things like extruded text. In that case you should use the Render Cue to render to a lossless or nearly lossless production codec so AE will take advantage of the GPU, but here again, there is a catch. You must have a compatible NVIDIA graphics card to effectively use this new feature.
Personally I have never understood the desire to use the Output Module for h.264. It's slower and produces less quality than the AME.

  • Slideshow export options

    Dear Adobe Lightroom folk,
I find the Slideshow module is very useful to allow me to watermark my images, add a file or ref number to each page & Brand my work.
As I am now creating DVD slideshows by utilising other adobe products,
I would really love to have an option to export in an uncompressed file format such as TIFF which will improve my final DVD image quality immensly.
This must be possible as I can export to tiff in other modules.
But I want the fuctionality of my first statement to work too.
So what do you say Adobe folk?
Keep up the good work & I'd love to see this feature please.
    Thanks
    Daryl

Is it possible to export a slide show in pdf having both a watermark such as © and also your own identity plate such as " name photography".
Anyone know if it is possible?
if not please put it in one of the upgrade, i mean having only © watermark is not enough you need also to put your identity plate in the slide show

  • Limited Options in Audio Adjustment Window - No Ducking???

Okay.... So I just want to do some simple ducking. I click on my audio clip, I click on Adjust Audio and a window opens, but it's not the same window that I see in the video tutorials. All I get is the audio level adjustment and the option to normalize. No ducking, no fade in, no fade out.
I attempted the moving of the com.apple.imovie7.plist file to my desktop, but nothing changes.
What gives? Is there something I have to do to enable this feature?

I gave that a shot as well. When clicking the audio icon on the video clip I get the same limited window. Only has volume control and normalize and remove normalization.
Any other ideas? This is confounding me!

  • Limited options for VGA display

When I connect my new intel MBP to a monitor it does not give me the resolution options to fill the screen fully. On my older G4 Mini Mac, and an earlier model intel MBP (running 10.4) I was able to set the resolution to 1440 by 900 and it would give me a full screen on the laptop and the TV.
On this MBP I can only set it up to 1280 by 960 at 60 hz, which creates bars on the side of the laptop screen and cuts off the edges of the screen on the computer.
