Slideshow on Elements 8

I cannot get Slideshow to operate on Elements 8. I select three photos as a trial and as soon as I click on Create and then Slideshow
, Elements closes down completely. has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas? Thank you.

This symptom at the very beginning of the Create Slideshow process is often caused by a software conflict on your system between the PSE slideshow software and some other software. It might be a conflict between PSE and some other video editing software.
At http://www.adobe.com/support/photoshopelements/
you will see a list of troubleshooting technical documents for PSE 8 and you can choose the document relevant to your version of the Windows operating system.
Other possible actions:
-- post here a list of what video editing and DVD/CD burning software is installed on that computer
Maybe someone can identify a likely cause of what software could cause the conflict.

Slideshow in Elements 9: Shows some pictures as "broken"

When I run a slideshow from Elements 9, the "View/Edit/Organisein Full screen" option, quite a few of the pictures appear "broken" and a "broken" type icon appears. It seems to get worse after that. I'm showing an album of 90 pictures, mixture of JPEG, PSD, RAW files. At first I though the app only supported JPEG but when I stop at the broken file, locate it, and start the slideshow from there, it dissplays fine.
Is this a known bug or limitation? Any fix or workaround?
I have PSE9 and 9.0.3.0 patch installed. Running on a i7 Dell PC with 4GB RAM (so in theory plenty horsepower)
Any advice appreciated

Please ensure that Thumnails are properly gereated for all the files in your catalog. This happens usually when bigger size thumbnail is not readily available to show.

Slideshow in Elements 13 won't import to Premier Elements to burn DVD

I created a slideshow in Elements 13 and tried to create a DVD of it. When it went to import to Premier Elements, I got an error message that the file couldn't be imported because I lacked the required codec . I am working on an iMac 14, OS X 10.9.5. How do I find/download the "missing" codec (I purchased this bundle specifically in order to do this!!)?

OK I think the problem is probably related to the platform swap and you may need your account re-set. Only Adobe staff can do that. You need to contact Adobe directly using the link below. Use the dropdown menu for boxes (1) & (2) to scroll down the list and choose:

Have you looked at Delete and Close Gap as well as Delete for what you describe?
Nonetheless, adding or moving clips to an existing Timeline content without disturbing the existing Timeline content can be challenging and complex under certain scenarios.
Typical solutions include making these moves with a keyboard modified held down (Windows Alt or Ctr). I am strictly an Elements Windows user, so we will need to find the Mac counterparts for the Windows keyboard modifier techniques.
Also, if one move triggers a multi-chain disaster, then you should consider grouping block of clips so that they do not move while you are busy with your Timeline maneuvers. Check out the Clip Menu options for Group and Ungroup.
Some times in the "Mac condition", you need to use fn in addition to the command to achieve some of these Windows counterparts.

It is demo'd with Premiere Elements 8, but the principles are the same for later versions of the program.

You should not have to delete audio to prevent it from being split by an addition to an existing Timeline. The keyboard modifiers should help you resolve this type of issue.

I downloaded a mp3 track. Tried to add it to audeo in a slideshow of Elements. Told your system doesn't have tshes required compresser/decompresser (codec) installed. How do I install that? Reply to [email protected] . Norm

If you want to process those files in the software that you have already you will need to use DNG converter 8.3 or newer to create digital negative copies of your raw files. If you upgraded your Lightroom to Lightroom 5.3 or newer you would be able to open the original raw files. I am not familiar enough with Photoshop Elements to tell you for sure what version you need. But it has to be compatible with Camera Raw 8.3 or newer in order to open the files from your camera.

Slideshow in Elements 6

I apologize if this sounds like a really dumb question.
I am working on trying to make a pdf slideshow in photoshop elements 6 ( on a IMAC)
After I have created the file and saved it as a pdf I close it and then try to reopen the file but it only opens in preview. Shouldn't I be able to view the slideshow in photoshop without having to have Acrobat, am I missing something?

Elements is not a pdf viewer. If you want to see your slideshow as it will appear, you have to use a pdf-viewing program like Preview or Adobe Reader.
There is no option to edit the pdf slideshow in PSE, if that's what you want to do. You look at in preview or whatever, and if you don't like something, you make a new slideshow.

Editing a slideshow in Elements 10

Hi,
I am using Adobe Elements 10 (recently purchased) and want to edit slides insitu in a slideshow. According to the help information it is possible to 'rotate', 'auto smart fix', 'auto red eye fix' and also click a 'More Editing' box to edit the slides in more detail. These editing facilities in the Properties section in the bottom right hand corner of the screen are greyed out and are not operative. I have followed the instructions to edit but these functions remain inoperative..
Can anyone tell me how to get the full editing functions in a slideshow to work?

I'm replying to my own question - above! I have since discovered that the editing properties wont work with photos added from a folder but will work with photos added from the Elements Organizer!

Elements 13 will not open slideshows from Elements 11

Upgraded to Photoshop/Premiere Elements 13 and when I try to open slide shows created in Elements 11 and edit them I get a message "Please select some media."

No, the slideshow is completely different in PSE 13. It won't open any former slideshow projects made with the old Slide Show Editor.

Why does a slideshow in Elements 13 display photos not in the selected album? How do I prevent this.

Using a Mac 10.9.5 os and Elements 13. I have a catalog of photos from a trip, divided into albums by day. When I select one for a slideshow, at least one photo from a different album appears. It is not in the group of photos selected. Sometimes it is shown 2-4 times in the show. Other photos appear once. When I show titles, the correct title will show, but the errant photo appears. Example: Title is Monumental Rock, but photo of of Palouse Falls. I can't figure a way to remove these incorrect photos from the slideshow. It happens with any day selected for the slideshow and random photos included.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Slideshow and Elements 11

Hello
I have a 20-minute clip which looks reasonable. I then have a related 20 still images which I would like to include maybe after the movie, but I don't really want to simply add them one after another. I was thinking more of a slideshow (not sure which software to do that in, though).
Is it possible to build a slideshow and then somehow incorporate it into Elements 11, or would I need to consider the movie and slideshow as two separate entities and just burn one after another seaparely onto a DVD?

The main menu of the DVD template typically consists of a main menu and scene menu.
The main menu is characterized by a Play All (Movie) button to do just that and a Scene Selection button for the viewer to navigate directly to a particular scene in the movie that you have targeted by placing a scene marker at the beginning of Timeline image. But, many of the DVD Template main menu pages have a 3rd button. Sometimes it is called Main Menu, sometimes Bonus. It is that Bonus feature that we are going to take advantage of for your purposes. Check out menus such as Fun and Aquarium to see what I mean by Bonus button.
There are several variations on what you want to do:
The first does not use a stop marker to isolate the stills from the movie playback, the second one does...
1. Major movie at Timeline level...scene markers for the movie scenes that will be displayed in the Scene Selection Page of the DVD-VIDEO. At the end of the major movie, immediately place your stills. At the beginning of the first still place a main menu marker. Outcome...
a. From Main Menu, you can hit Play All to play straight throught from start of movie to last still on the Timeline.
b. From Main Menu, you can hit Scene Selection, can pick and choose what scene you want to see. But remember, if you have say 10 scene markers and click on 5th, the playback will be from 5th scene to the last still on the Timeline.
c. From Main Menu, you can hit Bonus and go directly to the stills where they will play back from the first to the last still and then return to the main menu.
2. Major movie at Timeline level..scene markers for the scenes that will be displayed in the Scene Selection Page of the DVD-VIDEO. At the end of the major movie, place a stop marker. Leave a few frames gap. Then place your stills. At the beginning of the first still place a main menu marker. Outcome...
a. From Main Menu, when you hit Play All, it will play from the start to the end of just the movie and then return to the main menu.
b. From the Main Menu, when you hit Scene Selection, can pick and choose what scene you want to see in the movie. Now if there are 10 movie scene markers and you click on 5th, the playback will be from 5th scene to the end of the movie, not to the end of the stills.
c. From Main Menu, you can hit Bonus and go directly to the stills where they will play back from the first to the last still and then return to the main menu.
If you are incorporating some aspects of the Elements Organizer into this work, please let me know and I will incorporate the appropriate integration details. A major perk in the Elements Organizer Slideshow Editor slideshow is that you can create a slideshow there, output it in a non wmv video format (.psess), and, once it gets to Premiere Elements, you can use Break Apart Elements Organizer Slideshow in order to do further work on the slideshow.

How do I join together separate Elements 12 slideshows into a single intergrated slideshow??

Not sure hat you mean. If you've copied image A and paste it into image B it comes in on it's own layer.
Flatten image is the last option on the Layer menu, and the last option if you right-click in the Layers panel.
