Slideshow running backwards

slideshow running backwards

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
are you running the slideshow from an album or the iPhoto slideshow mode?
what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

    iPhoto album slideshow runs backwards. Anyone any suggestions?

    Use a regular slideshow created by "File > New Slideshow".  These will play manually sorted. The instant slideshows cannot be played in a manual sort order.

  • Internet Connect clock runs backwards

    Occassionally the clock that says how long you've been connected to the PPOE will run backwards on computers connected wirelessly to the airport network until I restart the computer that the airport is physically connected to.
    Aside from that, almost everyday, I need to restart my modem to get the network running again.  I have a DSL connection going into a Westell modem from Verizon.
    Curious is anyone has run into the backwards clock thing.  It doesn't seem to effect the connection.  Never had it reach 0.  Who knows what disaster might unfold if it did.

    The Internet Connect clock (or timer, if you like) on both of my Macs is now running backward after updating my Airport Extreme base station software - since Apple was saying it was time to update.
    I have tried resetting my machines to no avail.  I thought about going thru the Airport utility to see what I could do there, but I need to make sure I have all my set-up parameters and options written down first .. just in case.
    I would really like to find out how to fix this, but I haven't seen much posted around the net.

  • Code running backwards in commitProperties() ???

    Very strange problem here. Following
    this
    example, I try to implement an UIComponent which shall hold a
    simple graph. For some bizarre (or not) reason, the code in my
    overridden commitProperties function is executed backwards?!
    When creating the component in an mxml file, the alerts are
    being shown in the following order:
    afterloops -> lastouter -> lastinner ->
    firstinner-> firstouter -> beforeloops -> aftersuper ->
    beforesuper
    What don't I understand here?
    /*** Implement the commitProperties() method. ***/
    override protected function commitProperties():void {
    Alert.show("beforesuper");
    super.commitProperties();
    Alert.show("aftersuper");
    var it:Iterator = new ArrayIterator( _data ); // iterates
    through data array
    var pit:Iterator = new ArrayIterator( _props ); // iterates
    through properties.
    var pts:Array = new Array(); // holds the points of one
    dataset
    var props:Array = new Array(); // holds the properties of
    one dataset
    var tmp:Array = new Array();
    Alert.show("beforeloops");
    while ( it.hasNext() ) { // iterate through datasets
    Alert.show("first outer");
    pts = it.next();
    var dit:Iterator = new ArrayIterator( pts ); // iterator for
    points
    if (pit.hasNext()) { // if only one prop is submitted this
    is valid for all datasets
    props = pit.next();
    this.graphics.lineStyle( 1, 0xff3333 ); // TODO use
    properties here
    this.moveToArray(scalePt(dit.next(),props)); // move to
    starting point, TODO scale
    while (dit.hasNext()) {
    Alert.show("first inner");
    tmp = dit.next();
    this.lineToArray(scalePt(tmp,props)); // TODO scale
    Alert.show("last inner");
    dit.reset();
    Alert.show("last outer");
    it.reset();
    Alert.show("afterloops");
    invalidateDisplayList();

    1. Use code tags
    2. Use good names and the Java naming convention
    I'd say that getGraphics() is probably where the problem is.
    In my experience (on Win) everytime the paint(...) method is called, it's always a new instance of a Graphics object. Thus, in your run() method, whatever you do the Graphics objected obtained by getGraphics() won't matter.
    You can have a global affine transform, and modify the transform. Then in the paint method, you can apply the transform to the original shape. If you change the original shape many times, (especially with integer coordinates), then eventually your shape morphs. You can also create a new basic stroke, but set the stroke in the paint method as well.

  • Iphoto slideshows running in Appletv

    I use iphoto slide shows on my apple tv as you have more control over the burns effects etc. I have a problem where after setting the slide show timing to fit the music track (fit slide show to music) whilst this runs fine within the apple mac , is completely ignored on the appleTV and the music finishes (and repeates) before the slide show ends. any ideas

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. That may be an AppleTV issue. Ask over in the AppleTV forum as there will be more users there that use both AppleTV and iPhoto than here. You can search this forum for "AppleTV" and see what you find in the way to topics. I don't remember many. But then don't count very heavily on my memory.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
    Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • IPhoto 8 Slideshow runs too fast when I export

    I painstakingly created a slideshow for a friend to use during her wedding rehearsal next weekend. It was created so specific photos come up during lyrical points in each song. Worked phone in iPhoto but when I exported to Quicktime so she could have the CD to use it runs differently and now the pictures are not in sync with the lyrics. Can anyone help me?

    This is a know issue with iPhoto, precision audio syncing. You're best bet would be to useiMovie HD 6 to build the slideshow. With it you can have multiple audio tracks where you can add the audio, crop, fade in and out and match precisely to the photos. From there you can export to iDVD or Quicktime.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. • Slideshow running amuck: Fine on computer, lightening fast on players

    It's may day for technological boo-boos I guess...meant to post this here but ended up getting it on the Motion board, so apologies.
    Have a weirdness I can't puzzle my way out of. A couple of years ago I made a DVD for my partner that was comprised of video clips and slide shows...no problems. This week he wanted a 16 minute DVD that was a pared down version and for some reason kept running into the oddest thing. The slideshows, which were to last 4 seconds per slide w/a motion dissolve transition, looked fine when I played the final product on my computer. But when I played it on a DVD player, the slides and transitions were at near warp speed.
    Even odder still, the complete slideshow would last the proscribed length, but it would be comprised of the highly speeded up images, and black 'slug' making up the rest of the time.
    When I extracted the slideshow tracks via Cinematize in various formats (Quicktime, m2v, etc), they would behave in the same manner when imported back into DVDSP or played in Quicktime (ie: run at light speed).
    The images were a combination of jpegs and psds, and as I said, they worked fine a few years ago in the previous version of DVDSP.
    Any ideas?

    That's what I did first thing (I was hoping to be able to 'cut and paste' the individual slide show tracks to one long one...and when that didn't work figured I would build the DVD, then extract the tracks via Cinematize and stitch them together in another DVDSP project).
    It behaved the same regardless of whether the slide show was converted to a track or whether it was built sans conversion.
    I finally had to do the whole thing in Final Cut Pro, export it via Compressor and build it in DVDSP.

  • Can I make iDVD slideshow go backwards?

    In my first test DVD, I created a quick slideshow and opted for manual advance. I used the rotating cube transition. No music.
    In iDVD in preview mode, I can make the slides either advance or return to the previous slide, depending on whether I press the --> arrow or the <-- arrow on the on-screen controller.
    The finished DVD will not, however, allow me to go backwards on any of the DVD players in the house (including my Macs using DVD Player). Pressing the back arrow simply takes me back to the transition into the current slide, with the result that it continues to show the current slide.
    Is there any way to do what I'm trying to do?
    My only thought is to opt for no transition, but I'd prefer to keep that.

    Yes. Just go to Map View once you launch iDvd and simply drag and drop the QT movie presentation / slideshow to the first / top box and then select the loop function within iDvd. This will allow the dvd to play in Kiosk mode. For example:
    click here
    click on the "i" shown in blue above, dialog box appears, and place a check mark in the upper box.
    Hope this helps but if not just come on back.

  • IPhoto slideshow using mini-dvi to video adapter

    When using the mini-dvi to video adapter to connect to my widescreen tv (via composite), to show iPhoto slideshows, the transistions between slides dont apear and there are no ken burns effects. The slideshow runs fine on my MacBook display (ie when not conected to the tv), and the is no other distortion or flickering (as reported in other threads), this seems odd to me or is it just a limitation of analogue output.
    2Ghz MacBook, White   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    It means that the issue resides in your existing Library.
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Href links in slideshow not working

    hi,
    I have created a non-flash slideshow with WOW Slider which I find to be a very good program and is jquery based.
    the actual slideshow runs fine on iPad, my PC - and Android devices,
    but:
    the six slides have links embedded to other websites, that I have set up to run in a new window, and work fine on PC & Andoid
    but on the iPad the outbound links do not work - yet an href link will work on the iPad if called from a static image.

  • Corruption in slideshow using IDVD

    I have a problem I have been trying to resolve for quite some time, without success.
    If I produce a slideshow in Iphoto, import to IDVD, add a nice theme header, burn the show, everything goes normal except for the end product. I end up with small glitches or corruption, guess you could say pixelation of some sort in some of my photo's in the slideshow. The corruption consists normally of small bands of pixelation about 1/4 inch high and three inches long, however, they can be shorter and longer.
    I am using a G4-450mhz AGP machine, upgraded with a 1.5 ghz giga designs processor, new 8x superdrive (Apple firmware), installed full 1 gig of Ram, still using ATI Rage video card. I have tested the machine with the old cpu but still get the corruption, so that isn't it.
    One tip to this problem is that I can take out all the music and the slideshow runs great, no corruption but add back the music and I get it back. Using Mp3's for Audio and I have tried reducing them to very low bit which seems to help but doesn't completely get rid of the corruption.
    Have used all types of DVD names and all do the same. Currently using Imation and Verbatim. Using Ilife 05.
    Anyone have any ideas?

    Believe it or not, I found some DVD-R 1x and 2x Media at CompUSA. I bought the 2x Media because in the past I have had great results with their Media but I haven't seen the 1x or 2x in a while.
    Unfortunately, I tried an IDVD burn and it still had the same ol glitches/pixelation in various parts of the slideshow. So, then I used Toast to burn a disk image at 1x I had no glitches, whatsoever.
    So, what is the problem with IDVD?
    Toast made a great successful burn for me and it plays well on PC or Mac, however, how do you get it to play on a DVD Player for a TV? I get the begining theme but when I try to click to enter the slideshow, I black screen.
    I hate to say, but my PC makes slideshows like a pro with very little effort. I don't understand the big problem here with burn speeds or IDVD having so many problems.
    Anyone have anymore good ideas? Getting pretty close to solving this I hope.

  • The slideshow feature in iPhoto: Can we record or create a file of it?

    one month into my first Mac and I keep get blowing away by its features. Today I started using the iPhoto and imported all my pictures from my pc into it.
    WOW
    from a dry, dumb, still pictures, using the iPhoto's slideshow tool, I can now have a slideshow so professional that it makes me look like a hot shot director... what with the music and all that as the slideshow runs.
    BUT
    Can I convert the slideshow into a video file or something so I can upload it on my blog?
    PLEASE PLEASE SAY IT IS POSSIBLE AND easy to do this...
    (sorry for the caps... am too excited by seeing the slideshow effects in iPhoto)

    That's very simple...Under "file" choose Export. Choose the resolution/screen size, hit ok. Save to your desktop or somewhere else, then hit export button. A Quicktime movie will be produced and you're set and ready to put this moviejust about anywhere. Good luck.

  • Open picture files and display in fullscreen slideshow?

    I'm hoping for some help as I'm very new to LabView and quite lost....
    I have a directory with many picture files (too many to put them all in
    a powerpoint slideshow) and i want to open them one by one and display
    them full screen with no border around them (not in a picture box, but
    as displayed in a powerpoint slideshow).
    I'm trying to use activeX to call the default "Preview" application for
    windows, (which is able to run a slideshow when opened manually from
    the directory).  In the LabView VI, when the slideshow runs, it
    takes over the full screen, as it should, however, the images are not
    shown.  The screen says "no preview available".  I've messed
    around with it a lot and just can't get it to work.
    Any other application or any other way of displaying the images full
    screen would be acceptable, if you know of any.  I've also tried
    the adobe acrobat browser 7.0, which has a full screen option, but i
    can't seem to get that one to work either.  Attached is a copy of
    my code.
    Any help or advice would be much appreciated.  Thanx.

    The easiest would be to set the window not to have toolbars, scrollbars, etc. and to fill the entire screen and to scale all objects with the windows (these can be found in 2 pages of the File>>VI Properties dialog). If you resize your FP so your picture indicators fills it before doing this then any resizing of the window will resize the indicator as well. You can then use the Zoom property to enlarge the picture. To calculate how much to zoom you can divide the size of the picture by the Application>>Display>>Primary Workspace property.
    Another option would be to use property nodes to change the Draw Area Size of the picture to fill the screen and to resize the picture itself using something similar to the method demonstrated here.
