Slideshow share

Hi
I have Macbook Pro 15", early 2011, 10.9.4 Mavericks OSX and I am using iphoto 9.5.1 as the default image processor. when I create a slideshow, after I finish and when I am about to share by saving it in my laptop as video, I have to choose the export format of the file  (standard or HD) but it won't be processed  only after re download iphoto again (see attached image), I already contacted apple community and they suggested that I have to re download iphoto.
so I hope you can aid me in this issue as I don't think its just me who undergo this incident and its not proper solution to keep redownloading every time
Thanks

so in that case I should delete it and reinstall iPhoto again. or is there a way to reset iphoto without reinstalling.
Some of the content of the system caches is necessary for playing videos, besides for other things. And it will only be recreated by reinstalling iPhoto, and at least one file,  that previously has been giving issues when playing videos, only when the system is reinstalled.  That is why I suspected you may have been running cleaning apps.
Reinstall iPhoto, and if you experience other issues the system, to be on the safe side.
Caches are created to sped up your Mac. Many apps rely on the content being available. When you remove the content to save disk space, you are slowing down the mac, because the cached files will need to be recreated each time you run the app.

  • Slideshow share to iDVD doesn't open in iDVD but instead Quicktime

According to the help link. When I share a slideshow to iDVD, it is supposed to open an iDVD project of the same name. It doesn't, instead I have a QT movie with that name.
Also the slide show (20 minutes with audio) yep its really long (Softball season highlights) when burned to DVD plays fine in the $30 DVD player but hangs in the $400 player. Regardless if I burn from Disk Image, drag the QT movie into a iMovie HD project and then burn. I am using Verbatim dvd-r.

    dajhsn:
Try opening iDVD first and have it waiting for the import. Also what speed are you burning at? What speed are the disk capable of? Select the slowest available. The slower the burn, the more likely it's to be compatible with more players.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • IPhoto (Mac) slideshow share

With iPhoto for ios I can create beautiful project and slideshow, and I am abe to share it via icloud with my friends. So can I share my iPhoto slideshow projects made on Mac via iCloud too?

You can export them from iPhoto - that makes a movie of them - and then share that via a Photostream.

  • Unable to share slideshows in iPhoto, share option all greyed out except for email and iCloud

    iPhoto version 9.6
    OS X Yosemite 10.10.1
Completed a slideshow share 11/28 via iPhoto to Facebook
Created a new slideshow to upload to fb msg users however all fields in Share were greyed out except for email.
While working with Apple support and waiting on them I went into iCloud preferences and unchecked a share with selected users and found then that under share iCloud now appears along with email however all other options for sharing are still greyed out.
Please help as support is saying that is the way iPhoto now works
    Thank You, Theresa

Export the slideshow and that makes a movie of it.
    Upload that to Facebook.

  • How to make a slideshow dvd with numerous song clips

I am trying to make a slideshow dvd with different photo fades and different song bits per photo group seemlessly. I know it can be done with iphoto and itunes, but I cant get it done. Any suggestions?

    Hello,
I'm puzzled by the suggested procedures.
First, I personally prefer to use iPhoto to compose my slideshow: iPhoto simplifies the workflow of creating the slideshow and managing the transitions between each images (Ken Burns effects); iMovie always creates the same default KB effect, while iPhoto randomizes it and still allows for manual adjustments. I don't add music to the iPhoto slideshows.
Then, I export to iDVD each slideshow (Share / Send iDVD) to only get from my Movies folder (~/Movies/) the generated clip (MPEG4 720x540). iPhoto only proposes to "export" in 640x480, which is bad because too far from DV format.
Then, after I collect all my .mov files, and I trashed each DVD projects created in the process, I import to iMovie all the .mov files. iMovie "converts" each clip to 768x576 DV.
I'm able now to use iMovie to add the soundtrack. When done, I add my chapters and export the iMovie project again to iDVD. Of course, this time I complete the DVD project and burn a disc.
The method I've exposed here helps me a lot because I use each application at what it's best. But, it's all not straightforward.
--> And I don't understand WHY iPhoto does NOT export to iDVD directly in 768x576 DV format.
    Can someone help/correct here ?
    Thanks,
    Thierry

  • For Aperture Users

I have been a long time Aperture User. I also own my own copy (glad I did) of Photoshop CS6.
Aperture will function for a good long while, love the program, but don't mind switching now that the writing is on the wall.
I wasn't aware of all the "cloud" changes/focus of Adobe. This is new to me. I took the plunge two days ago with the $9.95 option. Wasn't happy with $120/year to borrow a program, but figured there must be some reason this works.
Now that I've used LR for a day, played with it, I better understand it. I've watched it from a distance grow over the years. Attended photoshop conferences and heard about it, figured I might buy it some day.
    That day has come.
I've already got my refund coming. Here's why Adobe.
#1 - as an Aperture User, I don't understand your terminology. When I read what would happen if I decided to quit paying you money, I had no point of reference to understand exactly what that meant. Figured it didn't matter.
#2 - loaded up the program, imported pics, started learning. Started having fun. Suddenly it hit me: I lose the key functionality I need if I quit paying Adobe money. I realized what that word "develop" meant.
#3 - once I realized that I would basically have a program that doesn't do much of anything, correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't figure out what it would do other than slideshow, share with Facebook, etc (other programs do that much for free)...what would Lightroom do if I quit paying Adobe money?
#4 - Now that I realize what is happening, I can't keep going forward, it would be irrational. Unless I'm misunderstanding something. Clarify please. I'm willing to pay for software, always have. My wallet hurt buying the full version of CS6.
#5 - Here's the crux of what I don't think Adobe is taking into consideration with the pay forever or lose functionality model:
            - I was diagnosed with cancer in 2008. Beat it.
            - I was diagnosed with cancer again a few months ago, stem cell transplant, chemo, going to beat it.
            - LIFE PRESENTS CHANGES AND PROBLEMS. I realize you guys are rich and expect us all to just pay forever, but there are twists and turns that come in life. I am scaling down to save money while temporarily on disability. Lets say I have to stay on disability (which I won't, I work and will work unless I die) and am presented with a difficult life circumstance, I've paid $120 or more for a program I can't do anything with.
Does this sound even logical? Why not offer to those who desire, the ability to purchase Lightroom upright. Just buy it. I'm willing to pay. I suddenly see this pay forever or else model as a rip off. If life takes a cruel turn, and trust me as a 49 year old hard working man who has paid his dues, life can get unfair at times. What are you going to do for a loyal customer Adobe? Just disable my program and not care?
Think about it. Just think about it. Maybe after a person pays a normal fair price, they could fully own the right to normal functionality, no more updates, and not be penalized for not paying forever. I don't need all the syncing and other nice features. Those are great and progressive, but what about just a photo management program that allows for RAW processing/editing?
I don't understand the advantage of a pay forever model, with the exception to how it pads Adobe's wallet. Otherwise, as an end user, I'm screwed by another large corporation. At least Apple let me have my program and said they will keep it running for a while.

First of all, you're not talking to Adobe here, most of us are not Adobe employees and the few that are can't change the marketing policies.
Secondly, as David__B has explained, you can still buy Lightroom, own it forever, no monthly fees.
Thirdly, if your only view of Lightroom is an editor, then yes, if you stop paying the subscription, you can no longer edit your photos (but you do not lose the edits you made to photos before you stopped paying). If you think of Lightroom as a digital asset management program, you can still use it as that (even if you stop paying the subscription); you can also export your photos or distribute them via Print, Web, Slideshow or Publish methods, so the work you have done in the past is not lost in any way.
    Does this sound even logical?
    No, your facts are wrong.

  • Transitions Get Worse

I create photo slideshows in iMovie 11, then burn them to disc for playback on a DVD player. However, I have encountered an annoying problem in this process. After exporting the slideshow (Share: Export Movie), the resulting .mov or .m4v file exhibits bad cross-dissolve transitions between photos, always starting at the 18 minute mark.
18 minutes into every slideshow, no matter what the export size, the cross-dissolve transitions between photos begin to loose their “smoothness”. They temporarily “stick” (showing both photos at same time), then the image loses resolution, before finally jumping to the next photo. I don’t see this problem with other types of transitions in the slideshow. And the issue doesn’t occur within iMovie - it only shows up in the resulting .mov or .m4v files.
I’m doing all work within iMovie, importing from iPhoto and iTunes, and the slideshows contain around 500 photos, lasting 30-40 minutes. Could this be a problem with iMovie? If so, might the issue be resolved if I upgrade to Final Cut Express?

  • I created a slideshow in aperture. How I can share it?

  • How to share a slideshow?

Whats the Apple way to share a slideshow using Photos app? I can export it to a file as well as importing it to iTunes.
But how can I share to others? Is it necessary to import it back to Photos (and using lots of unnecessary space in iCloud) to share via iCloud or do I need to upload to a video platform or is there an Apple way to do? With iPhoto on iPhone there were a way with journals, but no more.

Upload it to a sharing site like YouTube or Vimeo and email a link - these will allow the recipient to view the material online. That will avoid the codec issues, and the person can still download the video file if they wish.
Upload it to sharing services like Dropbox or YouSendIt and email a link. This will require that they download the material to their machines to view.

  • How can I create a DVD and/or share (email, etc.) a slideshow I created with iPhoto?

    How can I create and/or share a slideshow I made with iPhoto?...Thanks!

I am sure there is a way however I don't use iPhoto, you may want to repost on the iPhoto forums which is where the iPhoto gurus hang out.

  • How can i share a slideshow that i made with 8 people can i email it to them. it contains 2 200 pictures

How can i share a slideshow containing @ 200 pictures and music with 8 friends? can i email it to them?

Export it to the Desktop using the File -> Export commad. This makes a movie of it and you can then share that.
I would caution you that as movie files are very large you might be best uploading to a sharing site or service like Dropbox and sending them a link

I don't think that the inbox is an off line folder from which an attachment can be viewed off line, right?
No, incorrect. The inbox is an *off line* folder, just as it is on a computer. Once you download the email from the server, it is in your iPod/computer and you can access it when you like.

  • Why is the "Send to iDVD" command missing from the share menu in iPhoto 9.4.3 when trying to send a slideshow to iDVD?

How come the "Send to iDVD" command is missing from the share menu? In iPhoto I used to be able to send my slideshows to iDVD simply my clicking on the slideshow, selecting the "Share" menu at the top and going to "Send to iDVD". Now in iPhoto 9.4.3 that option is missing.
Further i am also using iDVD 7.1.2 and running OSX version 10.8.3.
    Thanks!

Export the slideshow via the Export button at the bottom of the slideshow window with Size = Medium or Large.
Open iDVD, choose a theme and drag the exported movie file to the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • How do I save a slideshow (iphoto 09) and share it for use in a dvd

I created a slideshow in iphoto 09 and want to save it and then share it with another person who will be adding it to a dvd with movies. I originally created the slideshow and then sent it to idvd and then saved it as an .img file but the file could not be imported so I was looking for an option of simply saving my slideshow and sharing it but I can't find a way to do so.
    Thanks

Actually you should have selected the 640 x 480 size or 720 x 540 size as iDVD will reduce what ever you choose to the 640 x 480 size as that's the default DVD size.
Also try using the Share ➙ DVD menu option which does all of the work for you and import the resulting QT movie file of the slideshow into the iDVD menu.
Once you have the iDVD project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
