Slideshow stops after ca. 20 slides

I'm new to CS4 Master Collection and using Encore for slideshows. I created a slideshow in six segments and the DVD builds okay with audio, menu and some after effects intro. However, when I play the slideshow back, I get about 19 or 20 slides to advance before the show stops. If I fast forward the DVD player and then immediately hit play, the show begins again after missing typically one slide then progresses smoothly for approximately 20 more slides before stopping again. The slides are all 720x480 jpegs. The same problem occurs in each of the segments. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, the disk image plays correctly using the Apple DVD-player.
I am familiar with the fact that the slower you burn, the better. Therefore I burned the image to one DVD with Apple's DVD-burner at the slowest possible speed of 1x, and another copy using Toast Titanium's best possible writing method.
The oddest thing is that both DVD-disks stop after 7 minutes on the Yamaha-set, but play at a DVD-player integrated in a 'cheap' small tv! There is however a hesitation in the slideshow: it stops for a couple of seconds, but it continues after that! So the no-name DVD-player plays along where the Yamaha-player comes up with a blank screen!
Besides that, the no-name DVD-payer had its trouble with the transitions between pictures, I took them all out.
It seems to me that the vob-files are not 'connected' right, it must have something to do with the burning.

  • Slideshow stops after 139 photos.

When trying to play a slideshow using a photo album that has 350 photos it freezes on slide 139 every time regardless of duration of each photo, music or no music.
Just upgraded to ios 8.2. Not sure if related to upgrade, but have previously been able to make longer slideshows with hundreds of photos. Any suggestions on how to solve?

  • Adobe Captivate 5 - Quiz stopping after leaving question slide to go backwards

I'm trying to force Captivate to do something I think it wasn't designed to do - Force the user to get 100% on a quiz. I've set the attempts to 'infinite' and customized the retry messages with little bits of information for the user. Currently, they can try the question as many times as they want until they get it correct but they cannot leave the slide even though there is a 'back' button available! I need them to be able to leave the question slide after attempting to answer the question, sort back through the information slides to learn the information, and return to the question slide to answer it correctly. The quiz stops entirely if you go backwards, then attempt to get back to the question slides.
Forcing them to retake the entire quiz is not an option as this will likely frustrate the user, especially as one of our presentations includes 100 questions. Even setting the failure levels to 3 is not good because eventually, someone will miss the question entirely and have to retake the quiz.
Any suggestions? Can this be done?
I have a short demo with all my settings if anyone wants to see it.

    Hello,
Yep, you are bumping onto the limitations of the current default Quizzes. If you allow multiple attempts on Question level, the user will not be able to leave the slide without exhausting those attemps or having a correct answer. If you allow multiple attempts on Quiz level, the Retake button will delete all answers and the user has to redo the whole quiz.
The only way I found was by creating my own question slides. I even succeeded in making Quiz Retake function only for incorrect answers. This is however a lot of work and when I read the amount of questions you are providing...

  • Slideshow Stops

My slideshow stops after a few slides and returns to iPhoto view. Any hints on what to do? Thanks

    CB
If you can't run a slide show with iPhoto 4, then iPhoto 6 is not going to solve your problem.
iPhoto may give up on a slideshow if it can't keep up with the demand to load the photo files on time.
You are using OSX 10.4. How much RAM do you have? Do you keep a lot of applications open when trying to run the slideshow? How much free space do you have on your hard drive? The OS needs free space to use temporarily for caching and virtual memory. 10 to 15% free space is a rule of thumb.

  • Fix for AppleTV photo slide show music stopping after abut 20 minutes?

Fix for AppleTV photo slide show music stopping after abut 20 minutes?

Just ran another series of tests ... I am now convinced that AppleTV's slideshow/screensaver is broken.
Too often it will 'get stuck' on one photo for minutes then show no photo and finally move on; in fact it is doing it right now.
I don't ever remember seeing this occur before the last upgrade.

  • LR2 Export jpeg slideshow stops before all slides exported

I have tried twice to export a slideshow of 300 slides. The first attempt stopped after 29 slides, the second stopped after 61 slides. No error messages appeared.
I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit, 4 GB memory and 179 GB free on my HDD.
How can I get LR2 to complete the export? Is this a bug?

Thank you. I checked the bug fix list for that release but couldn't see this one.
I tried the standard previews, but today's attempt exported only the first 7 files, followed by a file called "USA2008_3-007.jpeg.swp", then stopped.
I've decided to give up on this as we had no success with what we wanted to do. The slides were intended for import into Premiere Elements to produce a slideshow for use on a PAL TV, so I exported the slides at 720 x 576 (which my research tells me is the correct resolution for PAL TV) but when the resulting slideshow was played on TV the captions at the bottom of the slides were cut off. So, I will simply export the pictures from the Library module and use those.
    Thanks for the responses anyway!

  • My ipad stops after a few seconds, says slide to power off/cancel.  What is the problem?

What could be wrong with my ipad?  it stops after a few seconds with "slide to power off" noted.

Settings are OK, but the internal power supply is on the verge of failure. Soon, you will not be able to turn the Time Capsule on at all after it turns off.
Take the Time Capsule to an Apple Store....if you have one near you....to discuss your options.
    Otherwise, contact Apple Support.

  • Slideshow: How can I stop on the last slide?

How can I get my slideshow to stop on the last slide? I set the slide to stop as the end action, but it goes to a black screen.
Anyone know how I can do this?

Slideshows slides are timed by default.
If you want the last slide to freeze, set it to Manual Advance in Slide properties. Then it will hold the last slide until the user hits the Next/Previous buttons (if they figure that out on their own, that is...you might want to post an instruction of some kind on the slide).

  • When I burn podcast to CD it stops after 12-13 minutes of 50 minute show

I have been doing this for years to listen in the car on long trips with no problem.  Lately, the recording stops after 12-13 minutes and I have no idea why or how to fix it.  Help!

I am using photoshop Elements 10 under the create tab...slide show.
Used it on my desktop several times. Deactivated it and installed on new lap top about 5 months ago.  Had not used it other than for photo editing until today.
I can also not login in thru the program. It simply spins and I finally had to force close the program

  • After burning a slide show, I get a skip in audio

After burning a slide show, II get a skip in the audio about every 5 min. of run time.  I imported the pictures from i photo and the music from an itunes play list. When I play the entire thing in preview it runs fine with no problems, but after burning to a dvd, I get a skip every 5 min.  I burned to hp DVD-R (16x) and Memorex DVD-R (16x).  Still the skip.  I have burned to Best preformance, High Quality and Professional Quality.  I have even slowed the burn time to 4x.  Still the skip.  I noticed the bar at the bottom of the screen always reads 5 min. for the audio duration and when it goes back to 0 is when it skips.   The run time when I put the cursor on the audio well reads the correct 3min:35sec.

SlideShow function in iDVD - is limited to 99 photos per show.
Creating the SlideShow in iMovie HD6 or FinalCut - doesn't limit this but offers 100% control over process (audio and transitions)
Using iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 - will degrade picture quality as they only deliver every second line over to iDVD.
I never use "Share to iDVD" in any iMovie version.
    • iMovie up to HD6 - Just close it and import movie project from within iDVD
    • iMovie'08 to 11 - "Share to Media Browser" and as Large (not HD) will give as good quality as they can do

  • Music for slideshow stops in Organizer 11  and 12

Is anyone else having this problem.? It just recently started.  I am using Windows 8.1 and Windows 7.  Music starts, then stops after a few seconds.  Happens with the music that comes with the program as well as imported music.  Music plays in Organizer, just not with the slideshow option.

Why are you posting this question in an iWeb forum?  Does it have anything to do with iWeb?
Why not go and post it in the iPhoto forum and you might get more help there.

  • Audio stops after about 5 minutes

After rendering/encoding, the sound on my finished DVD stops after approximately 5 minutes. It is fine on iMovie, and also is there in iDVD when using preview.
In contrast to other posts in this forum, there are no slide shows on my DVD, and all sound comes from the camcorder together with the video.
I am using "Create Disc Image", and I have tried both playing back with DVD player from that very disc image, and actually burning it on a DVD and playing it back from there.
I have also thrown out the whole iDVD project and started from scratch by creating a new project from iMovie.
Since my DVD is just about 60 min, I have also tried both "quality" and "performance" encoding - same result.
The audio stops in the middle of a 4-min clip as defined in iMovie.
    I am using iDVD 5.0.1.
This process (importing from camcorder, editing in iMovie, building menus etc. in iDVD, creating disc image, burning) is something I have done for several DVDs previously without problems (but maybe with iDVD 5.0)

Thanks for your help! You helped solve the issue, albeit indirectly...
At this point, I want to share my experience, in the hope that it might be helpful to others:
After finding that chapter markers had nothing to do with the problem, I found that indeed my camcorder was set to the dreaded 12 bit. Oh dear! The original DV tape is long gone. (At first I did not expect this to be a problem, since I had made several DVDs successfully with the existing settings, but then there are all these horror stories in discussions about what 12 bit can do to you.)
So to rescue my movie, I found advice to "share" my iMovie back to a fresh DV tape, and then re-import it with the 16 bit setting.
This lead to the next issue: After a number of minutes of re-exporting to DV tape, the video received by the camcorder would freeze, while the audio continued. This happened at several different points in several differerent attempts.
So next I visited iMovie discussions, where I found advice to clean up my Mac. I used Mac Sweeper, and now indeed my Mac runs faster and smoother for many apps. I also downgraded my QuickTime version. But another attempt of exporting from iMovie to DV tape also failed, but now it failed at exactly the same point where the audio stopped in my DVD!!! (Even though on the export-to-DV-tape it was not the audio but the video that froze.)
Next I found that when playing that problematic scene in iMovie, the iMovie program would also freeze at that very point, making it necessary to "force quit" out.
In the end the solution was to chop out the problematic bit in that scene. Now everything works fine, including the iDVD step.

  • Why does my slideshow stop on my live site, but works fine in test?

I have an auto-play slideshow of 7 images that stops after 4 on our live
website. If you click the arrow to advance, the next three images never
    load.
    http://www.baidesign.com/our-process.html
However, when I test it—preview page and business catalyst— it plays through
to 7, then replays (what I want)
    http://baitestsite.businesscatalyst.com/our-process.html
I have tried rebuilding it, but that didn't help. Can't think of anything.
The whole site is full of slideshows. Other than the horizontal transition,
this one is not much different. I have checked the file names of the images
    and updated the assets.
Please help! We would like to announce the new website to our clients.

    Hello
If the slideshow is working fine in Business Catalyst and not on another (external) host, the issue may be with the upload not being completely successful, or the host itself. Please make sure it's not an upload issue, by reuploading the site again with "all files" selected in the upload option. If that doesn't resolve the issue, then have your host "reset the FTP permissions" for you and then reupload the site to see if that fixes the issue.
    Cheers

  • Playback in Preview window stops after about 1 second

    Hi,
When I hit the spacebar to view the clip in the preview window, the playback stops after about one second each time. It goes smoothly, then after one second, it stops. I can however drag the slider across the time line and there seems to be no problems.
I'm sure I have a powerful enough computer, so I don't think it's something to do with ram (I have 6 gig ram, Vista, triple core processor, good graphics card... brand new computer bought yesterday)
    I'd appreciate help with this.
    Thanks!

I'm not sure what you mean... I am importing from a DV tape which was recorded onto by a MiniDV Camera. When I plug in the camera to my fire wire, Windows gives me the options of AVI and WMV format (I am not sure which one to go with by the way, but WMV format seems clearer and 5 times smaller too.. why is that?)
    Any ideas?
    Thanks again
EDIT: Also, I borrowed some video files on the net and premiere does the exact same thing- stopping after one second :/

  • Flash videos stop after about a second of playback ?

ANY flash videos that are played inside Internet explorer OR
firfox stop after about a second of playback, I can drag the slider
to the middle of the video and it will play for another second then
stop. Can anybody HELP. PS I also have NO sound in any FLASH stuff
since installing flash player 9. ALL other video's (WMP,MOV,RM)
    play OK WITH sound

    Hi ATR
Thanks for the advice and ideas.
I think that the vertical white line basically just shows where the mouse pointer last was relative to the time line, and if you move it from the editing window to the viewing window, it retains its last known position on the time line.
None the less - I implemented your suggestion.
Even if I move the clip further down the timeline, the playback stops about 1-4 secons after I hit play. Even if I move the clip 60 seconds back from the starting line, playback stops while the the playback position is running through the empy space prior to reaching the new starting time of the clip.
If I move the blue cursor that shows the current playing point to anywhere else in the clip, it plays for about 1-4 second and then freezes as before.
Clearly the playback freezes regardless of where it is in the content stream.
I have also discovered a new unexpected feature... The problem seems to be intermittent - if I open a few other clips, and play them, and return to the previous clip, it may run for some time and then freeze. After it has then frozen once, it freezes consistently after 1-4 seconds.
It is also worth noting that it freezes in quick mode too, regardless of timelines.
So there you have it - an intermittent issue.
I have bad to use iMovie in the meantime, which works without issues.
It is beginning to look like a bug in the application...
    Thanks again for your suggestions.
