Slideshow will only export one song

If I add more than one song to a slideshow created in iphoto, when the slideshow is exported to idvd to put the show on disc it only exports one song...
When you play the slideshow back in iphoto it plays both songs...Any way round this?

Hi kernowman,
Here are the work-arounds:
Only one song exporting with Slideshows
Right now, this seems to be a know problem/bug. There have been some work-arounds. Don't know if the problem is with iPhoto, Quicktime or a combo of both.
-From Bob Worthington: re-ripping the cuts I wanted as background music for the DVD as a single cut in iTunes. I then made a playlist containing the one extended cut of music.
-Old Toad: share to Quicktime from iPhoto and then import the resulting movie into iMovie you can extract and delete the audio from the video and add the two songs to the video and save.
Quicktime Pro-open the movie and bring up the Movie Properties menu window. In the top window select the audio track and delete it.
If you want more than one song you'll have to join them together with iMovie or some other application. Then open that joined file with QT Player. Then do a select all and copy. Now go to the QT window of the movie and select the Edit->Add to Movie menu option. You don't want to scale it because it will change the play speed of the audio unless it's time is exactly the same as the movie.
You could go the other way, open the movie, select all and copy, and then past with scaling to the audio. That will change the speed of the movie and transitions to fit the audio track. In this case the resulting video file will have the name of the audio track file that you started with.
You may have to play with it a bit to get exactly what you want. Be sure to work with copies of all the media files for the project.
-Peter Burtwistle: I opened the Qt movie that iPhoto makes when you export to iDVD and removed the sound track.
Then made a new soundtrack by opening all three songs in QT, then cutting and pasting them together.
Finally use QT Pro's 'Add to Movie" option to add the soundtrack to the original movie.
This worked well and was fast to do too.
-Joe Lombardo: I ended up having to extend the songs by 20 seconds so I brought them all into GarageBand and made some edits. Then I exported them all to iTunes as a single track and used that for the slideshow
From scotty321 at MacOSXHints.com: If you have Roxio Toast Titanium installed on your machine, you can join unprotected tracks yourself by simulating a disc burn. Simply take these steps:
Go to the Audio tab in Toast.
Drag your audio files from iTunes into Toast.
Reshuffle them in the proper order within Toast.
Go up to File: Save As Disc Image. Save your disc image somewhere on your Desktop.
Choose Utilities: Mount Disc Image. The CD will mount on your desktop, and iTunes will think that you just inserted a CD.
Within iTunes, select the tracks that you want to join and then use Advanced: Join CD Tracks.
Go through the import process, and you've got a joined track! Simply rename the track to whatever you want to call it, and you're good to go.
From Lori...
Burn the playlist in iTunes.
Make sure you have itunes Prefs just open the Cd and not automatically play or import the songs.
Insert the burned CD and iTunes will open.
Within iTunes, select the tracks that you want to join and then use Advanced: Join CD Tracks.
Go to Advanced>convert selection to AAC.
When done, make a new playlist named after the slideshow.
Put the new combined track into the playlist.
In iPhoto, select this playlist for your slideshow.

after i have downloaded an album from iCloud to my new macbook pro. Itunes will only play one song at a time. If i hit the fast forward or back button will not do anything. I have to use the mouse to hit the next tidal in the album then hit play for it to play the next song. Or put it in the UP NEXT.

First, make sure these items have checkmarks next to their names in iTunes. Continuous playback only works on checked items. Itunes will play all checked items in a list whether or not they're from the same album.
If you see that nothing in your library is checked and you want to check everything, hold down Ctrl while checking an item. This checks everything.
Next, fixing the "1 of 1" problem is easily. Select all the tracks that make up the book/album. Let's say there are 15. Press Ctrl-I. Doublecheck that the album box is filled in with the name of the book, and if not, type it there. Enter "15" in the box for the total number of tracks. Click OK. Now all the items should be "1 of 15," "2 of 15," and so on.

  • Since update iTunes will only play one song at a time.

I know there is probably a simple solution but I can't find it. iTunes will only play one song and then it's done. It won't continuously play from my libray. I have over 5000. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I just can't find the solution. I even click on the next button and it stops.

Make sure all songs have a checkmark in front of them.

  • Ipod Shuffle will only play one song

Brand new shuffle 4th Gen. Will only play one song over and over. even when i press next it starts the same song again.
I have got more then one song, tried restoring, i feel like ive tried everything... any ideas ?

So you are taping the album cover of the song that is currently playing from the Now Playing screen correct? Not the album cover in the list of albums or songs or anywhere else.
And you are positive you are only tapping it 1 time.  The screen can be pretty sensitive so just be aware that it only takes a light tap.

That's consistent with all the tickboxes to the left of the tracks (in Song view) being unchecked.
Go into Song view and Ctrl-click one of the empty boxes to do a "global recheck".
If you can't see the tickboxes, head into your General preferences tab and select "Show list tickboxes" as per the following screenshot (it's for an earlier version of iTunes, but the boxes are in roughly the same place in the recent versions 11.x):

Are the boxes beside each song checked? iTunes will only play the songs that are checked. To check all the songs press control + click in any box. To check only some songs, you can highlight them and then right click and choose check selection.

  • Itunes will only play one song at a time, not continuously through library

I recently had to reload all of my song files onto an external hard drive...and now only one song will play at a time from my itunes library, instead of it continuously playing through the entire library. why is this happening? Its driving me nuts.
      Windows XP

Are there check marks beside all the songs in the library/playlist? Unchecked songs have to be clicked on individually to play them, checked songs will play one after the other. Hold down the Command key (⌘) and click on the check box beside any song in a list and the check marks will be toggled on or off: iTunes for Mac - Keyboard Shortcuts
By the way you have posted in Using iTunes for Windows but I'm presuming from your profile that you are using iTunes for Mac. In Windows If you hold down the CRTL key and click beside any song in your list then all the check boxes can be toggled on or off: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows

  • Itouch will only play one song!

My itouch has recently decided to play only one song, it will not move automatically onto the next song and will not shuffle. if i manually move onto the next track it will play but then continues to play that same song without moving on. I have restored it to 'factory settings' but this has not solved the problem. Please help!

Tap the "Now Playing" screen to show the additional song controls. Tap the repeat control until it turns white. Each tap cycles from repeat all to repeat one to repeat off.

  • ITunes will only play one song at a time, I can't select an album or artist and have it keep playing the next song.

I just can't figure out how to keep itunes going.  It plays one song at a time and will not go on to the next.  Do I need to change a setting or something?

At a guess you've somehow managed to uncheck the entire library. Select the Songs view, the CTRL+click an empty checkbox. All boxes should become checked. If you don't see the checkboxes use Edit > Preferences to enable them.

  • My ipod nano 6th generation will only play one song

Whenever I hit the next button it will go to a new screen as if it will play the next song, then quickly flash through all 37 of the songs, and eventually end back up at the first song. I have tried restoring and it is updated. Don't know what else to do. It is extremely frustrating.

    Hey s.mccarter2010,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you have tried a lot of things and the iPod still will not turn on. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
    iPod won't turn on
If you have tried the solutions above and iPod still won't turn on, check the following:
Make sure iPod is the only device in your FireWire or USB chain. Disconnect everything but the mouse, keyboard, and your iPod, then see if it will turn on.
Make sure you are using the FireWire or USB cable that came with your iPod, and that the cable is in good condition.
Try connecting iPod to the built-in port of a different computer to see if that works. Note: If using a portable computer, make sure it is plugged in to a power source and that the lid or display is open. If the lid is closed the computer may go into either standby, sleep, or hibernation mode and iPod will not charge properly.
If you still can't turn iPod on after performing these steps, it may need to be repaired. You can arrange for repair at the iPod Service Website.

  • Play list on Blackberry 9300 will only play one song at a time since update to Desktop version 6

Since upgrading to version 6, my backberry 9300 won't play any more than one song at a time (unless you manually forward it to the next song), even when using a playlist.
I have tried every combination of shuffle/repeat and still no luck.  Vodafone technical people cannot help either!
Please advise how I can get my  blackberry curve 9300 to play the whole list OR an entire album without me having to advance every single song?

    Hi
The obvious conclusion to reach is that this is a result of the upgrade to OS 6 and that to get back the facility you've lost would be achieved by going back to the old OS.
I do not have access to OS 6 so I cannot be specific, but it may be worth trying a different media app before any other action.

  • ITunes will only play one song at a time!

Can anyone help me? I've just swapped all my iTunes data to a new laptop and everything seems to be running fine, only when I click on a song in my library, it only plays that one then stops. How do I make it play the lot?
    Thanks in advance

Have the tracks become unchecked? iTunes will skip unchecked tracks, so if they're all unchecked, iTunes will play one and then stop. If this is indeed the case, re-checkmark the tracks - control-click on any checkbox will select or unselect them all - and you should then have continuous playback.
    Hope this helps.

  • My iTunes will only play one song and then stops.

In a playlist, my iTunes will play only one track and then it stops. Won't move to the next song, won't work in shuffle mode, just plays once and that's it! Any ideas? This just started a few days ago, maybe with a recent iTunes update? I'm in 11.0.3 (and of course, my AppleCare has just expired).

    Hello kitkatmac
I would check to make sure that the songs in your playlist are check in the checkbox section. If they are not the songs will play and then stop once it is done playing like you have described.
