Slideshow with origami transitions - photo orientation changed

I started playing around with the slideshow, and was happy with the origami transitions until I realized that for a few of my photos, it had rotated the images 90 degrees. They consistently showed up in the wrong orientation as the slideshow cycled through all my images.
Is there a way to specify which is the desired orientation for display in the slideshow for a photo?
And I wasn't messing with the angle of the iPad at all, so it wasn't changing the screen display orientation...
Thanks!

Updating the information regarding photo orientation with AppleTV screen saver.
Clear instructions: Click on photo in iPhoto, then go to File, choose 'Reveal in Finder', select 'Original File'. A window opens up where the original photo file is held. Open the photo in Preview. Rotate photo as needed. Close and save. You are done. Restart your AppleTV and turn your photos on and off to share in iTunes. Ta Da, it all works and it's very easy.
Hope this is helpful.

  • Photo orientation changes

Every time I take a photo with my I phone it changes orientation when I e-mail it to my computer to post on facebook.  Any suggestions?

    Clark,
I think this may have to do with your operating system. What operating system is on your computer?
There are a range of fixes that I'm aware of which range from manually rotating every photo in Paint or a photo editor to rotating them on Facebook. If you are using Windows this link should help you: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4180 .

  • Slideshow with music in photo stream

I am struggling to get a slideshow with a music track into photo stream to view through my apple tv, any ideas please

You cannot add slideshows to photo stream.
Why do you simply not view the slideshow through the computers >photos section on the Apple TV.
I am also not sure why you find it difficult adding 300 photos to photo stream, you would simply select them all together and apply the command to add to photo stream.

  • "Persistent" audio in slideshow with Manual transitions

    What I want:
    Add music to a slideshow, which will loop as the slideshow plays;
    AND
    Slide duration = Manual
    WITH
    Dissolve transition.
    Is this possible?
When I add audio to a slideshow, the "Manual" option under the "Slide duration" dropdown grays out. I can arrow through the slideshow, but the transitions disappear and the audio skips around.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Scott
And welcome to apple discussions. As soon as you add an audio file to a manually advanced slideshow w/in iDvd'09, guess what happens?
It automatically becomes a fit to audio slideshow.
Can't do this within iDvd via the traditional approach of making a slideshow within iDvd only (sorry). I'm assuming you already know how to make a slideshow advance manually with dissolve as the transition.
Here's what I suggest if iDvd'09 is the only app at your disposal currently.
Workaround: Go ahead and make the manual slideshow normally (no audio). Now add any music files you wish to the dvd rom section of the dvd. If you plan to use the laptop as the presentation hardware connected to an LCD projector to TV out; then launch iTunes also from the music files contained within the dvd rom section and then go back to iDvd slideshow feature and play your manual slideshow as you wish while music loops in the background. In other words, you'll have to use iTunes and iDvd simultaneously to meet your objective as stated above.
If you'd like I can test this feature later w/in DVDSP.

Might take me a while to post the results though. Roxio Toast might also be worth looking into for slideshows.

  • Slideshows with manual transitions?

    Hi,
Is there a way in PSE6 or 7 to build a slide show that doesn't
use a time-based transition but a manual one?
I'd like the user to decide when to switch to the next picture
by pressing the space bar, an arrow or PgUp/PgDn, etc...
Not imposing a 4 or 6 second transition time...
    Thanks for any help.

  • Full screen slideshow with 2 photos

    Hi,
I would like to know how to create a full sceen slideshow with two clikable photo inside, like this website : http://www.eturaweddings.com
    Thanks for your help
    David

    Hi David
This would be a bit tricky as you have to use a fullscreen widget , accordion and tooltip or any other composition inside accordion or you can use different pages to render similar effect.
    So for example
    - Insert fullscreen widget
    - Insert Accordion with page width ( Use same image which is used for fullscreen )
    - Insert a tooltip where the trigger would be half size of target container and setup the action on mouse click ( you have adjust the trigger and target in layers panel )
Sorry but that would be the workaround , I know a bit lengthy one.
Or you can create separate pages where you can use fullscreen widget for different pages using same images.
Additionally you can try to use slideshows in Muse exchange library :

  • Slideshow stops after 139 photos.

When trying to play a slideshow using a photo album that has 350 photos it freezes on slide 139 every time regardless of duration of each photo, music or no music.
Just upgraded to ios 8.2. Not sure if related to upgrade, but have previously been able to make longer slideshows with hundreds of photos. Any suggestions on how to solve?

Yes, the disk image plays correctly using the Apple DVD-player.
I am familiar with the fact that the slower you burn, the better. Therefore I burned the image to one DVD with Apple's DVD-burner at the slowest possible speed of 1x, and another copy using Toast Titanium's best possible writing method.
The oddest thing is that both DVD-disks stop after 7 minutes on the Yamaha-set, but play at a DVD-player integrated in a 'cheap' small tv! There is however a hesitation in the slideshow: it stops for a couple of seconds, but it continues after that! So the no-name DVD-player plays along where the Yamaha-player comes up with a blank screen!
Besides that, the no-name DVD-payer had its trouble with the transitions between pictures, I took them all out.
It seems to me that the vob-files are not 'connected' right, it must have something to do with the burning.

  • Slideshow with video

I've created a slideshow with video and photos. In plays back fine within Aperture. When I connect a projector (mini display port to vga at 1024x768), the photos play fine but the video skips. It plays fine if I esport the slide show and then play it with the monitor. Video is 1920.
Since I'm doing this at a wedding and time is short, I'm trying not to export the slideshow.
Can I make this work without exporting?

Are you at the wedding now? I guess you going to taking shots and video and trying to put something together that you can show while at the wedding? You must like pressure
How are you showing the video through the projector? USing the secondary viewer settings in Aperture or just mirroring your laptops screen via the OS?
Whichever one your using try the other. To be honest this may be a tough thing to troubleshoot you may have to just do the export. Think of something to entertain them with while the Aperture exports.

  • I want to do a slides how with a few photos , but it chooses all of my photos

i want to do a slideshow with 10-12 photos. I've followed instruction in user guide, tap on photo, go to the rectangle with the arrow on top, choose slide show. But it is playing all my photos, most of which I don't want bosses to see. LOL. How do I reset slideshow to my chosen photos?I

    Hello NikkiGS,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand you want to play a slideshow of just select photos from your Photos app.  Simply create an album of just the photos you want to display, and present your slideshow.
    Organize your photos and videos
Create a new album. Tap Albums, tap , enter a name, then tap Save. Select photos and videos to add to the album, then tap Done.

  • I have a new MacBook Pro with iPhoto installed.  I edit photos, mainly photo orientation via rotating, but when I go back to run a slideshow the changes weren't saved and the photo is back to vertical...please help...thanks

I have a new MacBook Pro with Iphoto installed when purchased.  When editing a photo, primarily orientation changes, the slideshow initially displays the photos in proper orientation.  However, after leaving Iphoto and shutting down the computer, and then going back to run a slideshow the photo displays back to its' original orientation, that is, the edit-change was not saved.  Please help...the program information says all edit-changes are automatically save and therefore there is no save command, but my changes are not being saved...thank you for any suggestions...HM

what version of iPhoto and of the OS?

  • IPhoto09 v 8.1.2 Problem- Double clicking on thumbnail results in glimpse of photo and changes to ! with black background.  No photo, no slideshow.

    iPhoto09 v 8.1.2
Double clicking on thumbnail results in glimpse of photo before changing to  !  with a black background.
    No photo, no slideshow.
(Preferences set to magnify with double click)

That indicates that the iPhoto database has lost the connection to the high resolution photo - if you have not made any changes to the library (like cleaning uyp, deleting using thrid party software or form the all images list) then rebuilding will probably resolve it - Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your iPhoto database

  • Changing photo orientation

The photo orientation on the CHAPTERS THEME main page is vertical. How do I change it to horizontal?
    thank you

Unlike the books, calendars do not change the orientation of a frame depending on the orientation of the photo dropped into it.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Photo orientation with AppleTV

    Hello all
I have been having some problems with photo orientation in AppleTV screen saver and in viewing the iPhoto library on AppleTV. I did all the usual things, restarted the Apple TV, restarted computer, etc. What was really strange was the photos I had changed rotation in iPhoto were all good. It was AppleTV which wasn't seeing them as 'corrected' images. What AppleTV was doing, was seeing the original photos, rather than the edited versions (the correctly oriented photos).
What I had to do was go to the original source of the photo. So I had to click on the photo, then go to File, see original file. The original file was still in the incorrect position. Once I opened this in preview and corrected it, it seemed to work. Will keep you posted. What is also interesting to note is that AppleTV was having problems with the original picture files of photos taken with a camera, rather than with the iPhone. There seems to be a bug here about how the AppleTV sees original and corrected files when the photos are taken with a digital camera.
Keen to know what others have found.
    Happy AppleTV travels everyone.

  • IMovie still photo slideshow with theme - how?

(Sorry this question should've been posted in the iMovie HD 6 forum, so I have re-posted it there, but I don't know how to delete this post here, sorry for the double post. If you do have an answer for this question, please feel free to answer here, thanks!)
Hi I'm new to Mac, and I'm trying to make a photo slideshow with iMovie 6 HD. I wanted to use a theme for the opening, bumper, credit, etc.
From my understanding, I put the photos in the drop zone, put in the titles, and apply and drop the theme into the timeline. Then I drop the photos into the timeline as desire to continue the slideshow. However, problem arise as the animated theme ends, it doesn't connect with the photos that follow. For example, if I put 6 photos in the opening and as the opening animation ends, it zooms into photo #6 and it ends right there. I assume then I should drop photo #6 right after the opening theme, is that right? Problem is that the zoom level doesn't match and there will be a very obvious jump from the opening to the next photo! The same also happen to the beginning and ending of bumpers, and such.
Am I missing something? How do you make the transition smooth? Could somebody point me to some tutorials, threads, or provide some advice on how to create a photo slideshow with themes?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I need an answer pretty quickly; maybe I can rephrase the question and make it simpler...
How do you match the beginning/ending of a theme animation to match the photo before/after it, so that it doesn't look like it jumped?
    Thanks.
