Slideshow won't play on a PC

Shouldn't this work?
I just used iWeb to publish a series of pictures to my mobileme website. Everything appears to work fine EXCEPT - the "Play Slideshow" for PC users brings up this message:
+Looking for something on MobileMe?+
+We can't find the page you requested. Please make sure the URL is spelled and capitalized correctly, and try again.+
The slideshow functions fine on my Mac, but not on either of two PCs I've tried. Help!

Here it is, BTW, if you want to see what I'm talking about.

  • Chapters within slideshow won't play its contents continuously

    I'm a first-time user of iDVD:
So I imported two iPhoto albums into an iDvd project. Each iPhoto album consisted of a mix of photos and short QT movies taken from my digital camera. Each project has less than 99 photos/movies combined. I wanted it to run continuously within each slideshow. It looked great in the preview. I burned a DVD and now, it only plays one photo or movie at a time. I have to sit there and click FAST FORWARD on the remote to make it advance to the next photo. What did I do wrong? Why won't the chapters within the slideshow play continuously?
    Thanks.

I would also like to pass on this additional piece of advice. While in iDVD, save your project as a disk image. Go to File>Save as disk image. This will create a file that can be viewed using your computer's DVD player. This will show you how your project will look when played on a standard DVD player. Viewing your project first as a disk image will help you find and correct any errors before burning and possibly wasting a disk. Then when you are happy with the way things look, you can use Disk Utility to burn the disk image to DVD. Another advantage is that the encoding has been done in the creation of the disk image, so burning additional copies takes less time that burning each disk using iDVD.

  • Iphoto slideshow won't play music

when I create a slideshow in iphoto, the music I selected will not play. The slideshow functions normally otherwise. Is this a problem with Mavericks?

What music are you selecting? From iTunes?
In iTunes go File -> Library -> Organise Library -> Reorganise Library.
    Then quit and restart iPhoto.
Credit to user keysandfood who figured that one out.

  • Slideshow won't play video(QuickTime file), works fine in Keynote('08), how to fix?

Shows up in the slideshow but video does not start, even though after the time the video would play, the slideshow continues, and even plays the next video OK.  The Keynote works perfectly, the problem is only witht the recorded Slideshow, so I can't export a working version.  Ideas?

  • Slideshow won't play on iweb and make page disappear

Hello. I have been jacking with this program for a month now with some success and some failure. Today I was revisited by something I thought I resolved: My webpage disappeared from my album page that contains all the links to my pages. It is gone from both my computer version and of course the published version. It shows in the sidebar in iweb, but not on the page?
    http://web.me.com/tedcarlos/FamilyTrips_and_visits/Family_Trips_and_visits/Family_Trips_andvisits.html
I had deleted this missing page before and stated over and it seem to work, but after my last edit, it was gone again.
I have been trying to publish an iphoto slideshow that I had exported as a movie for weeks. My mac people can see it, my PC family members cannot! I' tried to make it small for the web, changed the filename to mp4 from mpv4, but PC people still could not see it. So I tried to put the slideshow movie in as a huge .mpeg and it disappeared. ( I had made an avi file but it looked horrible so used the equally as large but better ,mpeg)
I am getting the idea that it can only be done with imovie! Is than an authoritative step by step on iphoto 08,quicktime pro, and Iweb so I can put all these things together?

You can't burn a video dvd using just PSE. Adobe wants you to use Premiere Elements to create the final video disc. If you have PRE, use that. If not, just output the slideshow as a WMV file and use whatever burning software you have, even Windows DVD maker, to create the actual video disc.
The only kind of video disc PSE can make is the hateful VCD format, which is always terrible in quality and not well supported anymore. It was a good idea back when DVD burners were very expensive, but it's archaic now.

  • Burned movie clips jittery; slideshows won't play

I made an iDVD 08 project with 13 movies and two slideshows. The movies (all .avi) are all under five minutes and there are about 80 pictures in one slideshow, 30 in the other. Both slideshows are imported from iPhoto 08.
Some of the movies stop and start, some quit the DVD altogether. The slideshows do not run at all - they quit the dvd.
Where do I start with problem solving? Is it the media, the file format (.avi) or something else?
One more thing - I made the entire project with 'Magic iDVD'.

Start out with these basic remedies. Quit iDVD and delete your iDVD preferences. To do this, go to your username> library> preferences> com.apple.idvd.plist. Delete this file. Then reopen iDVD; it will create a new preference file with all of the default settings.
If that doesn't help, do a verify and repair of permissions using Disk Utility.

  • Slideshow Music tracks won't play

I've tried various iTunes tracks and the perinstalled Aperture themes like Ken Burns, holioday mobile and cuts from the Sample music folder. The tracks won't play in the slide show proper or in the music pane. And it dsoesn't matter if the tracks are added as the main or secondary tracks.
Ive rebuilt and repaired the library, deleted the Aperture plist file from ~Library>Appleication Support>Aperture and removed the presets folder. I've also done a Disk Utility permissions rebuild, Aperture permissions rebuild, Aperture Database rebuild, etc.
What I discovered last night is that Aperture will crash whenever I select Aperture>Presets>Slideshow. Selecting the other presets is fine and the appropriate dialogs will present themselves. When the Slideshow preset is selected, a minature ghost image of the dialog appears for about 2 seconds and then the app crashes.
Here's the first part of the crash log. Any help will be gratly appreciated because I'm trying to put together a slide show for my niece's wedding!!

Sorry, I should have given more details but I've posted variants of this question in many places already, moving to a different forum when advised to by others because it really does seem to be a multi-application problem.
I was sent the slideshow as part of an .rcproject file. They had tried to create a DVD but had been unsuccessful, so just sent me the project from which I could view the slideshow complete with soundtrack.
To find out how it should have been done I asked here about the easiest method in iLife to create a DVD from a slideshow and was told iDVD, but when I added the movie files back in as an intro the slideshow soundtrack disappeared and I couldn't find out where to or how to get it back.

  • My Macbook Pro 2014 ran out of battery while mid-slideshow. Now the slideshow won't skip through photos and I can't figure out why? Macbook Pro 2014 13-inch Intel i5 8GB RAM 128GB flash, iPhoto library is on external HDD

    Macbook Pro 2014
    13-inch
    Intel i5
    8GB RAM
    128GB flash SSD,
    Integrated Graphics
iPhoto library is on external HDD
I was in a slideshow, with around 1,911 photos in it. About halfway through, my Macbook ran out of battery. Now when I restarted and charged the Macbook and reopened iPhoto, the slideshow won't advance through photos, and I can't figure out any reason why it would do this.
I thought it may be corrupted, so I deleted and reinstalled iPhoto library, iPhoto itself, and disconnected and reconnected my external HDD.
This didn't work, the photos still won't advance.
I don't know any reason why this would be happening, and there is ample space on my internal drive.
I'm happy to provide more information if needed!
    Many Thanks,
    James

Make a few tests, James, to narrow down the problem and find out, if the slideshow is corrupted, your iPhoto Library, or settings in your account.
To test, if only your slideshow has a problem, create a new slideshow, just for testing. Just use "File > New Slideshow" and add a few photos. Does this slideshow play correctly?
If the test slideshow does not play either, create a new iPhoto Library. Use the File menu in iPhoto: File > Switch to library > Create New. Import a few photos and create a slideshow.  Does it play?
If even a new library does not solve the problem, test in a different user account (see this document:  Isolating an issue by using another user account - Apple Support):
This process involves creating a new user account, logging in to it, and testing for the issue.
Create a new standard or admin user account in Users & Groups preferences.
Use these instructions for OS X Mavericks.
See these instructions for OS X Mountain Lion.
See this video, or these instructions for OS X Lion.
Optional: If you have any specific files you wish to test with, copy (don't move) those items to the /Users/Shared folder in the Finder.
Log out of your current user account by choosing Log Out from the Apple () menu.
Log in with the new account you created.
Attempt to reproduce the issue you were seeing in your regular user account.
After you have completed testing, log out of the test account by choosing Log Out from the Apple () menu.
Log in as your regular account.
After you have completed all testing with the test user account, you may want to delete it. You can delete an account in the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences.
Note: Prior to deleting a test account, make sure you are completely done with it. If you have files in the Guest User you wish to keep, you should copy them to the /Users/Shared folder .
If you should find, that slideshows only play in a new user account, post back.

  • Videos won't play in powerpoint when connected to projector

I've tried to find a solution for my problem online but haven't come across anyone with the same issue. I often work with powerpoint presentations with many videos in it. The videos play just fine on my laptop and also when hooked up to an external monitor, which I use when at work, both in slideshow mode and when previewing my animations. However, when I hook up my mac onto a projector the videos won't play - not on my laptop screen nor on the projected screen. I've tried rearranging the displays by draggin the menu bar to either display and also switched from mirror screens to presenter's view within powerpoint but nothing helped solve the issue. The only solution I found is to play the presentation on my windows partition - which is not really what I'm planning to do for long term...
I'm using Powerpoint 2011 for mac and this problem has occurred using multiple projectors.
Any help on how to solve this issue is highly appreciated!

I had the same problem today in front of an audience with 300 people (MacbookPro OSX 10.10, Thunderbolt-VGA adapter, PPT 14.4.6).
Here what I figured out so far:
    1. It happens when you have PPT open and connect to beamer afterwards
    2. You can resolve it (in my case) by quitting PPT and launching it WHEN connected to beamer
    3. Yet, make sure Mac does not go into sleep mode or you get a lock-screen in the waiting time. if you do so, you get back to square 1. quit PPT again 2. restart it.
    4. Also.... in one case I had to hit the volume control once to get the sound back even though movie was playing
So in short: Connect to beamer first, then launch PPT
I know it is only a symptom fix but it worked for me

  • Is there a setting that prevents the slideshow from not playing ?

    Hi All,
Im experiencing problems in Lr4 with the slideshow module not function properly.  It will open and prepare a preview of images and then default or return to the original screen when finished preparing the previews.
i.e. it won't play !!!  It just flashes black once and returns to the first image in the slideshow as if its waiting for me to start play.
Has any one encountered this before ?
Looking for recommendations and remedies to fix this problem if possible.

  • Videos in iphoto played before but now won't play

I tried to create a slideshow and fooled around with some videos in it. Now they won't play. Help!

By fooled around with some videos do you mean you just added some videos to an iPhoto slideshow? Did you try exporting the slideshow or just play it?  Is your profile correct for the system and iPhoto versions?
What happens when you double click on a video to play it?
