Slideshow Won't Repeat in Win7

I have discovered a bug, maybe it's just me, but I don't think so.  I have 3 different systems, Win Xp-Pro, Vista, and Win7.  On XP-Pro and Vista, the "repeat" function works just fine, multiple pictures just loop over and over.  HOWEVER, in Win 7, the repeat function does NOT work.  Is anyone else experiencing this within Win7?

I have been experiencing problems with the repeat function on LR3 beta x64 and Win 7 RC1 x64. I haven't tried it on XP or vista.

  • IPhoto slideshow won't repeat

I was quite pleased with myself for being able to pull together this great slideshow on iphoto.  However, even though I have the box checked for repeat, I can't get the slideshow to repeat.  I have music attached to go with the slide show and the songs stop as soon as the slide show completes.  In Settings, I have it so each slide plays for 5 seconds.  If I change it to "play slides as long as the music plays", each slide stops for a good 20 seconds (not what I want).
I count just over 100 slides.  Is this the problem?

    Is this the problem?
Probably.  Try adding an audio track(s) of approximately 8 minutes and see if it will repeat.
Then you can try shortening the audio track you've selected in iTune's Info/Options preference pane:
and see if that play you selected tracks and allow repeat at about 5 seconds per slide.

  • My Macbook Pro 2014 ran out of battery while mid-slideshow. Now the slideshow won't skip through photos and I can't figure out why? Macbook Pro 2014 13-inch Intel i5 8GB RAM 128GB flash, iPhoto library is on external HDD

    Macbook Pro 2014
    13-inch
    Intel i5
    8GB RAM
    128GB flash SSD,
    Integrated Graphics
iPhoto library is on external HDD
I was in a slideshow, with around 1,911 photos in it. About halfway through, my Macbook ran out of battery. Now when I restarted and charged the Macbook and reopened iPhoto, the slideshow won't advance through photos, and I can't figure out any reason why it would do this.
I thought it may be corrupted, so I deleted and reinstalled iPhoto library, iPhoto itself, and disconnected and reconnected my external HDD.
This didn't work, the photos still won't advance.
I don't know any reason why this would be happening, and there is ample space on my internal drive.
I'm happy to provide more information if needed!
    Many Thanks,
    James

Make a few tests, James, to narrow down the problem and find out, if the slideshow is corrupted, your iPhoto Library, or settings in your account.
To test, if only your slideshow has a problem, create a new slideshow, just for testing. Just use "File > New Slideshow" and add a few photos. Does this slideshow play correctly?
If the test slideshow does not play either, create a new iPhoto Library. Use the File menu in iPhoto: File > Switch to library > Create New. Import a few photos and create a slideshow.  Does it play?
If even a new library does not solve the problem, test in a different user account (see this document:  Isolating an issue by using another user account - Apple Support):
This process involves creating a new user account, logging in to it, and testing for the issue.
Create a new standard or admin user account in Users & Groups preferences.
Use these instructions for OS X Mavericks.
See these instructions for OS X Mountain Lion.
See this video, or these instructions for OS X Lion.
Optional: If you have any specific files you wish to test with, copy (don't move) those items to the /Users/Shared folder in the Finder.
Log out of your current user account by choosing Log Out from the Apple () menu.
Log in with the new account you created.
Attempt to reproduce the issue you were seeing in your regular user account.
After you have completed testing, log out of the test account by choosing Log Out from the Apple () menu.
Log in as your regular account.
After you have completed all testing with the test user account, you may want to delete it. You can delete an account in the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences.
Note: Prior to deleting a test account, make sure you are completely done with it. If you have files in the Guest User you wish to keep, you should copy them to the /Users/Shared folder .
If you should find, that slideshows only play in a new user account, post back.

You really shouldn't be using the phone during an update...my thought is that your cables are the root issue. It is possible that because it was in the middle of the imparts and something went wrong it has been "bricked". I'd search the threads for restoring from recovery mode and you might have some luck.

  • Slideshow won't work

I'm using Slideshow Pro for my website, and on my test site that I've created for my client, the slideshow works great.  When I uploaded the files to his website, the slideshow won't show up properly.  Any help would be great.
The slideshow that works is here:
    http://www.iliketocolour.com/riverdale/frameset.html
The slideshow that doesn't work but needs to be fixed is here:
    http://www.riverdalerecorders.com/
I have a feeling it's the way I embedded the swf file.
    Thanks in advance!

Check to be sure that you have placed the javascript file where it is identified to be in the code:
    <script src="../Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
I have confirmed that there is not such file located at...
    http://www.riverdalerecorders.com/Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js
Note: those "../" double dots leading the relative path always throw me off, thinking I have to back up one level, just because of the sight of them.  They oughta be avoided if they aren't needed.

  • Keys won't repeat

Downloaded Lion the other day and when I press and hold a key down, it won't repeat. I went into system preferences to 'change key' repeat to fast and 'delay until repeat' to short, but that didn't fix it. And my friend was having the same issue.
So basically, if I want to consecutively repeat a letter, I have to keep pressing it, releasing it, pressing it, etc. Anyone else having the same problem? Any fix to this?

    In this thread
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3190706
    got a fix in terminal.

  • Certain keys won't repeat.... really irritating.

It's not a direct inconvenience, mostly just irritating that it's giving me trouble as I only bought it 3 weeks ago. Certain letter keys won't repeat if I hold them down, and I don't know why. Any ideas on how to correct this?

How do you do a "terminal command"?
Launch the program named "Terminal" (through Launchpad or from the Applications > Utilities folder) and type the command in the window that appears.
Be careful what you do there!

My daughter is also frustrated about not being able to do multiple exclamation marks and things like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I'm not on Lion yet, obviously - I can still hold for repeat).
I'm running Mountain Lion, and I can still repeat exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (without that setting). On the other hand, I can't repeat the letter "e" (Eeeeeeeee!!!!!) because it has variants.

  • Slideshow won't start and / or slide order is wrong

I have multiple slideshows that I created in iPhoto'09. After I "upgraded" to iPhoto'11- some of my slideshows won't open. When I click on them I get the rainbow pinwheel of doom and need to force quit out of iPhoto. Other slideshows the slide order is completely wrong. I even went in and deleted my photos and replaced them and even then a few days later and they are all mixed up again.
I tried rebuilding my library already and that did not seem to work. I am even unable to delete my slideshows-as when I select the slideshow I get the pinwheel of doom again.
Arrghhhh- Have to say very disappointed in Apple on this one- overall iPhoto'11 has been completely unstable- this feels like something Microsoft would pull off.

  • Saved Slideshow won't open in iDVD 6

In iPhoto 6 I made a saved slideshow of 83 of my photos. I then also made another saved slideshow of the exact same photos but clicking that I wanted to repeat the slideshow. I then clicked on each slideshow individually and clicked "send to iDVD". After both slideshows were sent to iDVD and completely "digested" I clicked on the second and sent to Advanced and clicked "loop". I burned the DVD. When viewing on the television it opens the first slideshow, plays it once and goes back to the main theme window like it should. When I click on the second slideshow it won't open at all. It clicks on it like it is going to open but never does. What am I doing wrong? I've burned it several times and the looped slideshow will never open.

    Hi Deborah,
I would go back to iphoto and then export your slideshow as a quicktime file.
Put that file into iDVD by dragging it in and then try burning again.
Alternately you can go to the Advanced menu in iDVD and choose "Delete Encoded Assets" and try again - but I don't think that would apply in this case.
The fact that it does not play at all on the resulting DVD makes me think something is wrong with the original slideshow, or with the copy that made it into iDVD.
    Hope that helps!

  • Slideshow Transitions When Repeating Loop

    Hello,
I've created a slideshow using many photos that I want to repeat/loop indefinitely. I've fixed the transition at the end so it doesn't fade to black, however, when the last slide ends, it doesn't transition to the first slide as I wanted.
All of the transitions are dissolves except for the cut transition from the last slide to the first slide. Any ideas how on how to make every transition a dissolve....even when repeating?
    Thanks so much....

    Anyone?

  • Slideshow won't export

Why won’t my slideshow export? It doesn’t even show up on the finder list. In fact, even all of the older slideshows are grayed out. I don’t get it. I tried installing a new plug-in because my videos on Facebook weren’t running either. That fixed Facebook. It did not fix this. I have: OS X Yosemite, ver. 10.10.2, iPhoto 9.6.

Folks with problems exporting slideshows have fixed that with a reinstall of the app:
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
    2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4928
One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

  • Slideshow won't open on burned DVD

I've completed a DVD with photos that I have taken. I have 8 slideshows with one being a slideshow with all photos compiled. Everything works fine in iDVD. I burn the DVD which takes over 2 hours to do. When I play it on the tv all the slideshows work except the long one with all the photos. I click on it and push play and it won't open. It will only restart the song that I have playing for the face page. I've tried going back and deleting that particular slideshow and reinstalling it from iPhoto but have the same problem.

All of the plus and minus symbols on the media would give a clue.
If you burned as a "data" DVD then you would have used the Finder (not iDVD).
iDVD converts the file to MPEG-2 format which will play on set top devices if the proper media is used.
DVD-R is the most supported media.

  • Chapters within slideshow won't play its contents continuously

    I'm a first-time user of iDVD:
So I imported two iPhoto albums into an iDvd project. Each iPhoto album consisted of a mix of photos and short QT movies taken from my digital camera. Each project has less than 99 photos/movies combined. I wanted it to run continuously within each slideshow. It looked great in the preview. I burned a DVD and now, it only plays one photo or movie at a time. I have to sit there and click FAST FORWARD on the remote to make it advance to the next photo. What did I do wrong? Why won't the chapters within the slideshow play continuously?
    Thanks.

I would also like to pass on this additional piece of advice. While in iDVD, save your project as a disk image. Go to File>Save as disk image. This will create a file that can be viewed using your computer's DVD player. This will show you how your project will look when played on a standard DVD player. Viewing your project first as a disk image will help you find and correct any errors before burning and possibly wasting a disk. Then when you are happy with the way things look, you can use Disk Utility to burn the disk image to DVD. Another advantage is that the encoding has been done in the creation of the disk image, so burning additional copies takes less time that burning each disk using iDVD.

  • Composition widget slideshow won't auto resume on mobile

I have a composition widget which is working as a slideshow. Works absolutely fine on desktop but the scaled down mobile version won't auto resume once you touch a slide.
I have tried changing resume after times but it makes no difference. It also makes no difference if show target is set to click or rollover.
If anyone can offer any suggestions, it's the first time I've encountered this issue!

yes thank you, that does solve the problem.  I'm guessing this is an issue with muse, its a pity you can't still have swipe and auto-resume, maybe Adobe could comment on this?
    Thanks again

  • Slideshow won't stop

I started an instant slideshow on my wife's MacBook and I can't stop it. It won't respond to the ESC key. Is there anything I can do other than powering down?

Yes. Try typing CommandOptionEscape to bring up the Force Quit window. If it lets you select iPhoto and the Force Quit button.
