Sliding Problems

So I've had my iPod touch since Christmas '09 & recently it's been giving me tiny problems like freezing up, not responding, getting really hot, audio not working. Each time if I hard reset it or let it turn off and cool, it's been fine.
Today the slide wouldn't work. I tried to hard reset it and it wouldn't slide but I could tap the "Cancel" button. I couldn't put in my password either because the buttons wouldn't respond correctly.
Well, I just updated it and restored it to its original settings via iTunes an the slide thing is working again.
My question is - should I take it into an Apple Store near me and have them check it out anyway? I know it's working but I feel like SOMETHING is wrong with it.

Your first hunch was correct. Please take it to the Apple Store as it is still under the limited one year warranty. Apple should be able to either repair it or replace it.
I know you could probably RESTORE this thing and it will work again for a while with no guarantees that it will slip again.

Has anyones 'Slide to Unlock' slider, stopped sliding?

I know it's a screen image but my slider no longer slides and the phone is getting increasingly difficlut to unlock. I now run my finger over the slider (which doesn't move) then push the 'home' button and it unlocks this way abot 75% of the time. Anyone else?
iPhone Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I had a friend who's iPhone was doing the exact same thing. It got so bad that when the phone rang, sliding their finger did nothing until the call went to voice mail. All I did was turn it off (hold down the button on the upper right side until you get the screen command that tells you to slide), then turn it back on. It appeared to work similar to how restarting a computer would work. Not only did it fix the sliding problem, but they noticed the entire interface was faster as well.
Just guessing, but it seems like there was some process running that was taking up all the CPU and restarting it cleared it out.

C6 - 00 Isn't a Mobile its really a worst nokia so...

I lost the number of times that I hav made emails to nokia. With problems issues and with many bugs list that have occured in my C6-00 RM-612 20.0.042 with this last firmware. i would like to know when the last firmware will go out. the bug in NOKIA C6-00 wich r still present in nokia latest update v 20.0.042 are
0.Frequently lose the wifi connectivity.
1.when we open the photos or web is opend it says "memory full please close some items" and wen the phone is restarted t works

2.the phone sometimes hangs itself.
3.when application is clicked it take some time to open, ie: its very slow.
3.camera freezez and does not respond for sometime and video too..
4.photos take time to load in photos folder.
5.the sensor is not working exactly sometimes. the display goes blank if the phone is rotated.
6.the browser hangs wen full screen viewing is done while browsing. The bars below the browser “Options and Exit” will disappear.
7.the volume of music is not good it is very lowand .the ring of the phone is not loud enough and headset volume is very very low.
8.in ovi when the download is clicked it doesnt download it stops at 0%. after restarting the ovi it works fine.
9.why is nokia providing trial version softwares like adobe(no full screen support),quick office.
10.when the phone is slided the dispkay will goes blank and it take time to light the keypad. (the sliding problem is
   still not solved in latest version).
11.the keygaurd code works slow, wen unlocked.
12.the swipe is slow.
13.though screen is very sluggish.
Nokia please improve the performance of this phone. the nokia c6-00 users are very dissapointed by this phone.

Even at the first, with my new C6,I started going through batteries like crazy. When I called Nokia to buy new ones I was told they didn't MAKE THEM ANYMORE!!!! Talk about a red flag. Nokia won't even support it's own product? Their suggestion was to buy the Hong Kong **bleep**, which I've had to do. Some of it does not even fit in the phone even though the list says , "OEM Nokia".
Here's my new problem, now that I'm stocked up on **bleep** batteries. when I charged my phone I would get the message - through a Nokia Ovi widget - that my charge was good for 5 days 12 hours - depending on usage. The widget breaks it down - music, web, talk, etc. Well, two days ago I can't get any more than 14 hours!. I've tried a different charger, new batteries - nothing has worked.
Has anyone had this issue and how did you fix it? I don't bother writing to Nokia support now. They never answer me, I decided it's because I own a C6 and they don't really have that phone anymore...

Edit JS on spry sliding panels widget to fix auto panel height problem

Hi guys,
Ive been trying for a while to make the sliding panels widget
show each panel in its own height instead of the longest panel's height in the container.
I tried reading all the js file to play with it and find a solution but the truth is i dont know how to do what i want.
I do, however, have a list of things that i believe if implemented should work,
could you help me do these fixes on the js? ( any one you know how to or think will work )
1. edit so that: Panels dont have any height ( or panel content display none ) if it isnt current panel. If current panel is "id:1" the assume class 1 style properties. As soon as it looses focus/"currentpanel" class it looses its class 1 properties. And the new current panel ("id:2") assumes its own class 2 properties. And so on.
2. edit so that: PanelContainer ( the one that holds all the panels ) displays none BUT the current panel. So all panels could be display none unless they assume the "currentpanel" class and so they change to display. Maybe this way the container assumes only the height of the displayed panel and looses it once its no longer displayed assuming the next displayed one.
3. edit so that: Panel container checks for current panel's height and assumes that height instantly ( there is still a panel inside the container that would be longer than the current panel, maybe with overflow hidden this isnt a problem )
4. Using SpryDOMUtils.js I am currently playing with the code pasted below,
the idea came from Gramp's Spry Sliding Panels Group Navigation Buttons cookbook
He addresses a different problem, but since it has to do with identifying the current panel and doing something when the panel is x number, i thought there could be a height property set for each panel when each is the current one, atleast something can be done with this, my problem is i dont know how to set that something. Safari 4 problems - HTMLDataSet/Sliding Panels

Hi,
I've been building a fairly basic photo gallery site and was having no problems with the site until I downloaded and installed Safari 4. For some reason the detailRegions are not loading properly in Safari 4. I have thumbnails in the sliding panels that load fine but the larger versions of the photos no longer appear in Safari below the sliding panels and on the right sidebar the paypal buttons no longer appear either. IE and FF seem to be working fine still. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm very new to this so please bear with me if I have any glaring mistakes. THANKS!!!

It doesn't work correctly in Firefox either,
If you check out generated code, you will see that the data ins't selected correctly, or that maybe your HTML is correctly.
For example.. type this in the url bar of your browser; javascript:alert(ds1.getData()[0]['HiRes_Id']); and you will see it alerts <span></span>.
So i would suggest to recheck your rowSelectors and validate your page for HTML errors.

Sliding n lcd problems on nokia n80...

i have a nokia n80..
after using it a few months..
the screen going blurred after i sliding up the phone...
ive sent the phone a month a go n the technician said the lcd screen broke down n repaired it...
but yesterday, the same problems came out again n there is something bad with the key pad (navigation keys) when i slided the phone..
what caused the problem with my phone actually? is the sliding strip or other?

I think it is more then likely the ribbon cable that connects the two halves.
You can get it replaced at your local Nokia Care Centre. I think they should have replaced that instead of the display the first time.

Sliding Flash Interface - Using Links from an XML file Problem

Hi All,
Working on a new site for the company i've recently started
working for... fairly new to flash but wanted to try this sliding
interface for the graphic banner at the top of the page...

I am pulling in a 'heading' 'text' and 'image' into the

What is the exact error you get (what db version also), could you post a simplified version of the SQL which fails also? I have splitter based maps that successfully read from file via the XMLType(bfilename....) style code and insert into multiple targets, I did this on 11g though.

Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Sliding Window Table Partitioning Problems with RANGE RIGHT, SPLIT, MERGE using Multiple File Groups

There is misleading information in two system views (sys.data_spaces & sys.destination_data_spaces) about the physical location of data after a partitioning MERGE and before an INDEX REBUILD operation on a partitioned table. In SQL Server 2012 SP1 CU6,
the script below (SQLCMD mode, set DataDrive & LogDrive variables for the runtime environment) will create a test database with file groups and files to support a partitioned table. The partition function and scheme spread the test data across
4 files groups, an empty partition, file group and file are maintained at the start and end of the range. A problem occurs after the SWITCH and MERGE RANGE operations, the views sys.data_spaces & sys.destination_data_spaces show the logical, not the physical,
location of data.

The data in the File and File Group to be dropped (File Group 2) has already been switched out; File Group 3 contains the data so no index rebuild is needed to move data and complete the MERGE.
RANGE RIGHT would not be a problem in a ‘Sliding Window’ if the same file group is used for all partitions, when they are created and dropped it introduces a dependency on full index rebuilds. Larger tables are typically partitioned and a full index rebuild
might be an expensive operation. I’m not sure how a RANGE RIGHT partitioning strategy could be implemented, with an ascending partitioning key, using multiple file groups without having to move data. Using a single file group (multiple files) for all partitions
within a table would avoid physically moving data between file groups; no index rebuild would be necessary to complete a MERGE and system views would accurately reflect the physical location of data.
If a RANGE RIGHT partition function is used, the data is physically in the wrong file group after the MERGE assuming a typical ascending partitioning key, and the 'Data Spaces' system views might be misleading. Thanks to Manuj and Chris for a lot of help
investigating this.
NOTE 10/03/2014 - The solution
The solution is so easy it's embarrassing, I was using the wrong boundary points for the MERGE (both RANGE LEFT & RANGE RIGHT) to get rid of historic data.

Problem with Accordion Widget INSIDE Sliding Panel Widget

Hello,
perhaps I should not do this, but I nested an Accordion
Widget inside a Sliding Panels Widget:
- There are eight Panels.
- Each one contains a complete Accordion.
The sliding works fine, and so does the Accordion animation,
but the text inside the Accordion Panel Tabs won't move along, when
a tab is activated. I need to hover the mouse over the accordion to
make the panel texts appear again.
Of course, when I un-nest the widgets and move the Accordion
widget out of the Sliding Panel widget, everything is fine.
My question is:
- am I demanding "too much" by nesting the widgets?
- or should this basically work, and the problem arises from
rivalling scripts?

The horizontal top menu will activate the sliding panels, but
as of now only the leftmost menu item contains an Accordion (I know
the CSS does not look nice yet).

Sliding Panels Problem: Content panels with different width?

I'm trying to create the exact same behaviour as this Argentinian Photographer have done:

and searched the forum but couldn't find an answer.
I'm almost there. The problem is that I have 6 test photos that are of the same height (and the same height as the slidingpanel view port) but different in width. If I set the class .SlidingPanelsContent to the same width as the largest picture(i.e. panel) then it creates a white space until the next pic starts. And If I set the width to the same as the smallest picture then it crops the other ones.

In the css file before the .SlidingPanelsContent class Adobe states that they in their default implementation has set the width to the same as the view port to ensure that only one panel at a time can be viewed within the view port. But I want the opposite.
How do I solve this?

It seems to me that if you have all different width images, you will want to remove the width from the content pane. That should allow the images to butt up next to each other without either extra white space (for smaller images) or cropping (of larger images). Saenz's photos are in divs with a class of .panelfoto that has the definition of float: left; width: auto;
I have not played around a lot with sliding panels, but it seems reasonable to me that that would work.

You know, if you really want something very close to what the example site looks like, look into his code and imitate it.
It does not appear that every move of the pane goes the same distance, and I'm not sure what controls that, but I see some of his images moving part-way, exposing part of the next, and so forth, instead of a complete image change each time. Using different width photos will do that partly, of course.

I am having problem with my notifications bar and control centre bar. It doesn't work with sliding my fingers on the screen and when I restart the phone it works properly but again after few days the problem persist? My phone is an iphone6 8.1.3

First, try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data by resetting.

3 problems With: Accelometer, Safari, And Home Screen Sliding, Update??

Hey Guys, i just got a 16GB iPhone today, and i noticed that sliding from one home screen to the other is like 1/8 slower than other iphones i tried, its a small fraction, but i want to enjoy my iphone to the fullest.
The second problem is concerning the accelometer, sometimes it takes about 10 seconds for it to change landscapes, and when it actually works right, its moves not in the same smooth way ive tried on other iphones too.
The final problem is concerning safari browser, whenever i have 3 pages or more, sometimes it closes by its own, and there's that accelometer problem again, screen changes differently every time.
I absloutly love it, no doubt about that, but i really want to enjoy it to the fullest, without any problems, so what do you think guys, should i update to 1.1.4, or is it all in my head??

Thanks for the info Kevin, next time I reset I will clear the cache too and see if it works better for me than just the reset.
Also to the OP. Like Kevin said, the iphone must be nearly totally vertical for the accelerometer to register the change quickly. I was just testing and if I was holding the phone on a slant towards being horizontal and then rotate into landscape it takes several seconds to rotate. If I hold it vertical and then rotate its nearly instant. If you lay down on a table and then rotate it doesn't move at all.
I'm not sure why your settings screen would be lagging. Make sure your finger movements are smooth I suppose. And also safari will lag in doing anything while it is actively loading data from the net.
Edit - with further investigation it looks like it needs to be no more than at a 45 degree angel from vertical position for the accelerometer to pick up the change in orientation.

Sliding volume bar problem

Hello, My ipod has a software problem. Many days ago, while I was listening music, I tried to control volume with the sliding bar in the ipod screen, and I notice that the volume bar worked randomly, like an elastic. I move the volume point and this returns to the initial point or another point but randomly. And the volume level the same way works randomly regardless the position of the volume point on the bar.
The only way to control the volume are the side buttons. I restored the ipod with itunes and the sliding volume bar worked again but later the problem appears again. At that time I restored the Iphone by pressing the off button and the central button at the same time, newly the volume bar works but many days later the problem appears again.
¿Maybe any game or something installed is generating this problem?

You stated that you RESTORED your iPod Touch however from the procedure that you described it appears that you are actually RESETTING the iPod Touch. The RESTORE process requires you to connect a iTunes computer and then it involves removing all your installed data on the iPod and restoration of factory settings. You then synch with iTunes and put your data back on the iPod Touch.
You also stated that RESETTING helps for some time and then the issue develops again. Yes, it could be a roque app that can be the cause. You can try two things:
1. Remove a few apps after you RESET the next time. If it Happens again then install those back and remove the set of apps and RESET. Continue this until you have pinpointed the app. OR
2. You can try the [*RESTORE Process*|http://www.apple.com/support/ipodtouch/assistant/ipodtouch/#section_5] and see if that takes care of things.
You also said that the volume buttons work correctly. If none of the above takes care of things then we may have to assume that the touch screen may be going out.

Spry Sliding Panel Problem - Repost

Hi hope you can help.
My Spry Sliding panel is appearing over my floats in IE, fine
in Firefox.
