Slight change in display color?

Hi there,
I just wanted to know if anyone else sees this, but is there a slight change in color?
I mean, the Google Chrome icon looks a little bit different, and the Google Sketch Up icon, used to be pure red, now it looks cherry.

Thanks for the help but sadly it did not work. It appears to be the 2007 version (  )  I checked the first link and it is not a Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server.  The second link helped me find my mailbox name but it is the same as Ive been using since the start, and its all numbers so its not a case sensitive issue.  I havent contacted the IT dept and I really would like to avoid doing that actually.  I know of others that are still able to get the email but they are on other phones, not BBs.  Let me know if you can think of any other potential fixes.
Thanks!
Also this is what the login screen looks like.  Seems to be 2007 to me.

  • Abrupt change of display-color after sleep

    I POSTED THIS IN THE iMAC DISPLAY-SECTION OF DISCUSSIONS BUT NOBODY REPLIED:
    After I wake up my iMac 27, after it was in sleep-mode
    for some hours, colors look different for less then a second (warmer),
    then it changes to something more cold/bluish. The change is exactly like
    a manual change of the calibration/monitor-profile via settings.
    There is NO blackscreen between the change of the colors,
    like I said: exactly like a monitor-profile-switch.
    I didn't change/add a different profile than the standard yet.
    Is my monitor faulty and/or what's happening with it?
    PS: I can't tell if the "less then a second visible"-profile is superior,
    but i'd like to test it, if possible I installed all the latest updates.
    But amongst them there wasn't that firmware update. Maybe
    cause I CTO'ed the iMac a few weeks ago.

    Haven't experienced this on my i5 iMac, but my monitor is hardware calibrated with a custom profile (first thing I did when I switched it on). I use the ColorMonki device.
    I would recommend you hardware calibrate your monitor and see if the issue re-occurs. If it does contact Apple Tech Support for further advice

  • I can't change the display language on my HP Color LaserJet CP1518ni

    I have a HP Color LaserJet CP1518ni printer that I inherited from an employee who is no longer at the company. The display screen on the printer is not showing in English, it's in some language I do not recognize (and neither does anyone else). I want to change the display language to English but the manual only shows you how to do that on the display, which I cannot read because it's not in English, hence my dilemma. Does anyone know of a way to change the display language through the computer?
    Thanks

    InventoryLady,
    Yes that is what I did.  I do not know the language that it is currently set at, so the recommendations were from using the front panel menu. The OK button is the OK button on the front panel, that would not be in another language, it is the button in between the left and right arrow- See image below #6:
    Once you have hit the OK button, you can complete the steps in my earlier recommendation. Again because I do not know which language it is currently set at, I am guiding you the best I can. As for selecting the English language, I suggest using Google Translate to find out which language it is currently set at and see what their word for English is.
    If you have any more questions, please let me know.

  • 10.9.3 update display color change

    Hello all,
    Is it only me or have more people noticed a change in the display color (or color profile) since the latest 10.9.3 update?
    I updated a moment ago while working on some graphic designs. After restart I could clearly see the change as I used a very light (237 235 221) background color and it looks certainly different now. I checked the color profiles and I still use the Adobe RGB (1998) as I did before the update.
    Light conditions in the room are the same, my eyes are stil the same, no huge amounts of coffee since the upgrade either.
    I can live with this but would like to know if something begins to happen with my computer or wether it is a more common problem, then I can rest asure a fix will arrive soon ;-)
    All the best!

  • Display color changes when I start some applications.

    Hello.
    Today I reinstalled OSX 10.8.1.
    All applications are up2date.
    But some applications like iPhoto have a strange behavior. When I start them, the display color changes. It looks like it has a blue fog.
    As soon as I close the application it's back to normal. Only happens for a few applications.

    Any idea what the problem might be?
    Thanks
    Dan

    I had the same problem early on in Mountain Lion - whenever an application kicked in that used the discrete GPU, the screen would get a bluish tint. I 'resolved' the situation by using Cody Krieger's gfxCardStatus and kept the mode on Integrated Only. This, of course, slowed down some applications but, by and large, I was able to live with it. Then one day - just out of the 'blue' - I decided to switch back to Dynamic Switching: and, lo and behold, by blue tint was gone when the discrete GPU kicked in.
    I only know how to temporarily fix the problem - you're one of about a dozen people that have reported it both here and in the Adobe Photoshop users forum. Try the gfxCardStatus 'fix' and then see if the problem doesn't rectify itself after a bit. It wasn't the 10.8.1 update that fixed my problem - it was just a week or so of running on integrated only.
    Let me know if this doesn't work for you...

  • Display color changes when Photoshop opens

    Hi there,
    Since recently, whenever I open Photoshop CS6 (13.0.1) or Illustrator CS6 (16.1.0), the display color changes, i.e. as if the display color profile termporarily changes to a different one. Even if I switch to another app, the color change will remain until I quite Photoshop or Illustrator. Using Mac OS 10.8.2.
    Does anyone anyone have an idea how to prevent this from happening?
    Thanks!

    The color shift happens when the computer changes the graphics card (from Intel HD to Nvidia or AMD). It's a problem of Mac OS X 10.8.x. I found a simple solution that worked (at least for me):
    Turn off automatic graphics switching in System Preferences > Energy Saver
    Reboot your computer
    Turn automatic graphics switching on again (or leave it off, as you like ...)
    It seems that the mac has to start up with the discreet graphics card turned on (Nvidia or AMD).

  • Display colors change after start up

    Hi, I recently tried to open a Power Point file which was too heavy and I got so desperate that I hit the keyboards as if they were a piano... Final result is that now everytime I start up the computer the display colors are all a mess, like if the "negative" part of the picture shows up instead of the true colors. I know the display is ok, for when the computer is started, the initial screen colors show up well.
    I would not like having to reload the operating system to fix the problem.
    Any suggestions?

    Open the Universal Access pane of System Preferences, click on the Seeing tab, turn off the White on Black option, move the Contrast slider all the way to the left, and deactivate the remaining options except for the one which controls access to assistive devices.

  • Im the photographer... the display color change when i upgrade to SL..

    I m a photographer, after i upgraded to SL, all my black and white photo are yellowish. The black are not total black and the white are not total white like in os x 10.5.x. Are any others photographer upgrade their os and face this problem too?

    Check that the correct profile is selected for your display (in Sys. Prefs. -> Display -> Color)
    After installing SL mine was not set to the correct profile. I fixed it, and it has remained set to the correct one since.

  • Display color problem - asking for a color solution

    So I have this serious problem with my Macbook Pro.
    Some months ago I suddenly saw green colors in black area's and pink line colors in white areas.
    Text on white background was extremely frustrating to read, since it was surrounded with small pink lines and flickering.
    Note this was only near max white and max black areas of the screen.
    I found out that it was due to a hardware failure, since slightly bending the laptop (!!) would remove the problem
    Attaching an external monitor doesn't show the defect, and booting in Windows 7 (bootcamp) still shows the same screen problem.
    Searching the web, it appears that it was a NVidia related heat problem, known to my model, but the offer to get it fixed for free by apple (since it was a known issue) had already run out december 2012 (!!). I think my laptop is about 3-4 years old, and the battery pretty much died on me the first year, probably due to heavy usage and the graphic card getting too hot. There are small sweat/corosion marks of where my hand are placed when typing, on the aluminium, due to how hot my laptop got. It sometimes got so hot I couldn't touch the aluminium on the top left corner near the 1-2-Q-W keys.
    Fixing my Macbook is too expensive. Just getting someone to look at it to diagnose it (without repairing it), costs a lot in my country, and we have no official apple store, only authorized resellers. I know it's probably the motherboard, because I tried to unscrew the backlid and gently touch certain area's on the motherboard with a pen, while the computer was still running, to find out where the short circuit was. I only started this kind of trying to "self service" it, because I knew how expensive replacing the motherboard would be (if that was even the issue?).
    I have multiple times tried to place something up against the sensitive area's on the motherboard, and then screw back the backlid, to put some pressure on it, which at first worked brilliantly and removed the color issue for some weeks, before it started reappearing. I think the heat from the laptop slowly makes the motherboard adapt, and the problem returns. Extremely frustrating indeed.
    I hope I can one day afford a Macbook Air, but until then, I don't want to throw more money after my poor macbook (which I pronbably can't sell anyway, like previous mac's I've owned, the day get a new. It's too worn out + battery got only 5min on a full charge).
    I think it's wisest to rather save the money for a Macbook Air, and try to survive until then. Therefor I was hoping someone could help me with a temporary solution.
    In Windows 7, using the Nvidia Control Panel to apply color management, I was able to adjust the individual color output values, and thereby remove the the screen issue! Maybe the colors are not as good anymore, but it sure beats not getting a headache after 10minutes trying to read an article.
    I tried the same thing on the mac, using Preferences>Displays>Color>Calibrate, but this guide is much harder to use to get a decent result (since only the last 2 options really makes a difference, but changes the colors completely, which I can't change by going back to the first color settings since then it just undos the last step I just did. I'm currently writing this with a very blue pale screen.
    I also tried to use ColorSync Utility, expecting to enter values manually, but contrary to the articles I read about using ColorSync, I cannot edit the values in the color profile I created (I can only change the ASCII text input fields). Trying to save the profile gives me the error 'The Document "screenbug.icc" could not be saved.'
    I tried to look for alternative color calibration software, but most of them required hardware, or expensive full version to unlock the settings I needed (like SuperCal).
    I hope some tech savy users out there that can help me, or at least make my life with my macbook less of a pain.
    All help is much appreciated!!
    PS: I've been a loyal Mac user since always. Few things I've learned is:
    1) Don't buy the first version of new hardware. Wait about a month for reviews, to check for issues. I had a problem with an expensive MacPro that had to be replaced, but luckily for free since it was Apple's mistake. Sometimes Apple products also get minor internal changes/fixes without announcements, to help solve reported issues from early buyers.
    3) Take care of you Mac, especially so because you can often sell your used Mac's for quite a value the day you want to upgrade. I've sold about 3 Mac's in my lifetime, for quite a gain, though I don't expect this macbook to do as well, if at all. But it's normally something to be cautious about.
    3) Don't order custom configurations from the Apple Store, if you can live without it (+ it's usually crazy overprices). I payed extra to get the NVidia GeForce 9600M, and was happy with it for the first couple of years, but is now causing me all the problems I have today + made my Macbook worthless.
    Stick with what the default configuration if possible, as other configurations might not have been tested carefully.

    Who exactly is your comment "I am asking you to fix this problem soon" directed at?
    Remember that you are posting on a user to user forum so nobody can really help you.  If you want to give feedback to Apple, then contact them directly at http://www.apple.com/feedback.
    Also, if you have an iPhone 3G and iOS 4.2.1 is the latest software that you can install on your phone, then there is absolutely nothing that anyone can do to fix the problem if you want to install Skype that requires iOS 4.3 - what do you think anyone can magically do?
    iPhone 3G is a very old phone now and if you want to install Skype on your phone, then you need to go out and buy a new iPhone - either a 4s or a 5.  Nothing more to it.  Buy a new phone.

  • Change selected tab color theme

    I'm trying to make a small adjustment to my color theme. If you have used X-Chat Aqua, you'll notice that in the Blue OS X color theme, highlighted tabs are in blue, and easily identified. However, when the color scheme is grey, highlighted tabs are in a slightly darker grey, so I have to tilt my display back and forth to tell which tab is the active one. I prefer the grey theme, but want to change the highlighting color of the active tab. This does not have anything to do with the highlighting color in the OS X settings as I already have that set to turquoise. Does anyone know how to change this? Someone suggested Magnifique, but that seems like it will only install a whole new color theme, not let me change individual settings as I desire. It seems as though I can create my own color scheme, but that I would have to start from scratch, when really I'd want to start with the OS X graphite theme, because that one works just fine for me, with the exception of the active tab color for certain applications. Anyone know how to solve this one?
    Thanks for the help.

  • Display Color Management Simulated Rec709 differs from ProRes Output

    Okay. I've read the Adobe white paper on proper Color Management workflow about a dozen times now, and I'm still getting some inconsistencies in my render outputs.
    DPX footage assigned a Kodak 5218/7218 Profile
    Project Settings: ProPhoto RGB
    Linearized Working Space
    Match Legacy AE QT Gamma Adjustments
    Output Profile: HDTV (Rec. 709)
    I'm outputting to a ProRes 4444 file.
    My problem arises from using the Simulate Output>Rec709 option in AE. I cannot get the output to look like this simulated color. Isn't that supposed to work?
    I can match the output to AE when I turn off Color Management and apply a Color Profile Converter effect, but there is a shift in color when viewing Simulated Color vs. using the Color Converter Effect. Even in AE the Converter Effect looks different than Simulated Color.
    I was under the impression that the point of the Simulated Output and Display Color Management options were to avoid having to do this. Should I change my workflow and just use the Converter Effect on all my comps? Or do I have a setting wrong somewhere? Has anyone else come across a discrepancy like this?

    Interesting. I thought it might have something to do with ProRes, but my bit depth is at 32, and the shifts I'm seeing are more subdued than the pictures in that post. It looks darker (like a gamma shift) and slightly more saturated.
    I'm more interested to know why there is a difference in the simulated output vs the color profile converter. I can see the difference within AE, before exporting anything. What is simulated output doing that my profile converter isn't?

  • Change the font color of a text field in a table by key-combination

    I want to change the font color of a text field in a table (single cell only) on pressing a key combination. Does anybody know how to do this.
    I have a lot of data in a table. During an evaluation of the data in a meeting I want to change the color of the text depending on the result of the meeting. (for example: High risk = CTRL+R makes the text red).
    I know how to change the color using a button, but I do not want to add a button after each cell. For this reason I would like to do it on a key combination that alway refers to the active cell.
    Many thanks for your help in advance.
    Marcel

    Hi,
    I don't think you can use the ctrl key like that as those shortcuts will be intercepted by Reader (ctrl-R toggles the ruler display on / off).  You also might have trouble updating the color while you still have focus on it.  You can use the shift key in a similar way, so if you only have lower case characters in the text fields then you can do something like;
    if (xfa.event.shift)
        switch (xfa.event.change)
            case "R":
                this.fontColor = "255,0,0";
                break;
            case "O":
                this.fontColor = "255,102,0";
                break;
            case "G":
                this.fontColor = "0,255,0";
                break;
        xfa.event.change = ""; // ignore character
    If you need uppercase characters maybe you can have one button to set "review mode" and test that on the if (xfa.event.shift) line.  But again it wont take effect until you have tabbed out of the field.

  • I have trouble reading in Black and White. changing the background color for all

    I have trouble reading in Black and White. On my PC I can change the background  color (and I am not just talking about for a word or pages document) but for eveything so anything that was a white background I can put in what ever color I like but it still prints in Black and white.. I can't see how to do this on the Macbook air. on my PC I do this in display. Sort of putting colored film over the screen I dont know what to do. Can anyone help?

    Hello Floridamacbookpro,
    You may be interested in the 'invert colors' Accessibility feature. This can be invoked by pressing the Control, Option, Command, and 8 keys on your keyboard. This only affects your display, and does not have any affect on printed items.
    Mac OS X displays inverted image colors (white on black, reverse type)
