Slight Eclipse Installation Problem

Question

I feel like such an idiot for having to ask this, but oh well, here it is:
I've downloaded eclipse, and I have extracted the .zip file. Now, when I double click on the eclipse.exe icon, it gives me the following popup box:
A Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK) must be available in order to run Eclipse. No Java vurtual machine was found after searching the following locations:
C:\eclipse\jre\bin\javaw.exe
'javaw.exe' in your current PATH
I recently have updated my jdk and jre to version 1.4, and I know I had to do something the first time I got java, but I don't remember what that something was. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Seeing your Path, it seems you are on a Windows OS
correct ?
if then, did you check your CLASSPATH and PATH
variable ?
if you can give more details about what you did with
your upgrade
and install of eclipse, it may help.Yes, I have XP. I thought I might have to do something with my CLASSPATH and PATH variable, but am not exactly sure how to go about it
I have just unzipped the eclipse files to my C:\ directory. Same directory as most of my java related stuff (about everything besides the jre)
C:\j2sdk1.4.1_01\lib\tools.jar;.;C:\j21work\ (classpath)
PATH c:\j2sdk1.4.1_01\bin;%PATH%%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program files\PC-Doctor for Windows XP\WINDSAPI;C:\Program Files\Executive Software\DiskeeperLite\ (path)
what do I need to change, append, or fix with these?
