Slight shift in stills after fade in and fade out? Ever seen this?
Howdy..
I'm editing on a MacPro, Quadr4000, CS5.5, OS 10.6.8.
Exporting a project as ProRes 720p MRQ.
I notice when dissolving in or out on a still, there is a slight shift in the graphic as it dissolves in (ie. during the cross dissolve) and after it's fully in (ie. after the cross dissolve has finished). This isn't apparent on the timeline or when I playback the video in Premiere, but is there after I export. It's just a slight, 1pixel movement of the graphic that is barely noticeable by annoying nonetheless..
Any ideas as to what could be causing this? Greatly appreciated!

I am starting to see something similar on my 24" 2.8Ghz Aluminum. Not as bad as you are seeing...but random artifacts. It is getting annoying, especially because my warranty just ran out.

I purchased a 3TB HDD (WD USB 3.0 $100) to replace the 2TB Seagate for a new Time Machine HDD. The 2B was full and backups were deleting older files. The 3TB was formatted NTFS and I want to "recover" the included SW before I reformatted the HDD for the iMac. I discovered that MacFuse was out of date and unsupported and my NTFS-32 was also out of date so I uninstalled both and then installed the most recent version of Tuxera NTFS for Mac. I rebooted and discovered that the FW800 port was unresponsive. Below is the EtreCheck report:

does anyone know why my iphone keeps switching all of my alert tones and ringtones assigned to contacts? i restored it and it still keeps doing it and now when ever i get a txt or a phone call the tones just sound terrible. how do i fix this?
Your only chance is setting it up as new device without using the latest backup afterwards, which you already did.

Ever since I updated my ipad2 and iphone5 to ios8, both devices are running slow, apps take forever to download (Google is STILL downloading on both), and they freeze/crash. This is VERY frustrating! Anyone else having the same problems?
Message was edited by: RkksheaHad same problem on my iPad2 with the original 8.0 release. I ended up wiping it completely clean and doing a reset and restore from backup. That seemed to fix my issues. I had the same problem when 7 came out and did the same wipe and restore to get everything working well.

Some of my still photos move up and go out of focus
I am making a slideshow and some of my photos move up a little and slightly go out of focus one frame after the in video transition effect. They remain out of focus until the next transition and then they move back down and go into focus one frame before the out transition. I am using the Fade in Fade Out Dissolve effect. The photos are in focus during the video transition effect. They are acting as if I have a double image. This is not happening to all the photos. Any suggestions on how to correct this and how to prevent this from happening?

IDVD: weird audio after fade out..?!!
Hi, i dont know if anyone else is having this problem or whether im doing something wrong. When i fade out the audio (iTunes song) it suddenly gets louder again b4 it stops. Ive checked all the audio volumes (zoomed in aswell) all fine, and i split the unwanted portion straight after the fade out. It plays fine in iMovie but not in iDVD or on a burned DVD. What am i/or the software doing wrong..!!!

An ongoing frustration for me as well. I have made dozens and dozens of DVDs with iLife 06, but this audio problem started without any warning.
For a one-minute "loop" I will export a short video clip, I will un-check the box on the right of the top line to silence the sound track. For good measure, I also adjust the volume of the track all the way down to zero. Fine! Then I paste different music on an audio track below, with fade in and fade out. It plays fine in iMovie, and Quicktime. BUT when I share it in iDVD, every single audio track (including the original, which is switched "off") is heard at the same level, which can be very noisy and very frustrating. None of my fades (in and out) work at all. I even tried importing it from the "media" window, and it did the same stupid thing. I ALSO tried extracting the audio from the original clip so I could delete it on a timeline below. Ha!
Who is trying to torture us? I wanted to stay with iMovie and iDVD as long as I could before spending the money on Final Cut Pro. But the quirks and inconsistencies in the iLife are driving me nertz.

I have copied and pasted hundreds of times before with Mozilla and firefox . This just happened suddenly.
when I go to find more information on this issue, it give a long drawn out explanation I cant follow.
What happened?When you right-click the link, the page immediately tells you you can't copy, or does that occur after you choose Copy Link Location?
If it appears immediately, you can switch a setting in Firefox that should prevent sites from blocking the normal right-click menu. Here's how you would do that:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''context''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''dom.event.contextmenu.enabled''' preference to switch it from true to false.
This setting does have a complication: On Google Maps and other sites that have their own right-click menu, Firefox's menu then will block the site's menu. To clear Firefox's menu so you can access the site's menu tap either the Alt key or Esc key once (but sometimes Esc removes both). -
Massive Colour Shift Between Stills (both JPEG & TIFF) and Motion

I'm having a lot of trouble getting still images in Motion/FCP/Quicktime to look as good as they do in Photoshop/Preview or even the Finder.
I'm guessing this is a colour space issue but I can't find any colour space controls for Motion.
Has anyone else come across this?

I purchased iphone in London one year back. Then i shifted to India recently. Now when i want to change my credit card detail in itunes, i get an error message that This card is not valid in UK. But i am no more in UK now. In the same page i edited my address but itunes does not change that details showing the above error message.
So you are trying to change the account from India to the Uk right...? Cause it wont accept UK card if you're trying to keep it for India...

I tried exiting Firefox using the File|exit menu item or just killing the window and (of course) re-booting the computer to see if that fixes the problem. Is this perhaps an incompatibility between the latest version of Firefox and Windows XP? (I do not have a problem like this on my Win 7 Professional (SP1) machine.)

Im back. I finished the previous project which the clients liked very much now i need to do another one, exactly the same, but it will have a rolling picture (4) when 1 button is rolled over.
I can set it up to fade in when the mouse rolls over, but i am just wandering how to set it that i can make 4 images fade in after eachother after a space of about 3 seconds. If you need code i am more then happy to give what i have at the moment. I am just wandering if someone could point me in the right direction, i am assuming i will need a timer in there but i am not very good at AS3.0 so i do not know how to write it

I just need a timer that will start after the first image is loaded up after a button is rolled over.
E.g
When my button is rolled over an image fades in, then i need a timer to start and when the timer hits 3 seconds a new image fades over the top of it. Then i need this to repeat until the mouse is moved off of the button.
I know it cant be that hard and i have tried to do it myself but i cant seem to get it to work and i really need to get this done ASAP.
Any help or pointers would be great,

After exporting - music and pictures out of sync
After using the workaround to attach my six songs as one (using Garage Band - thanks!) to my 434 slides, I tweaked the presentation so that the music and pictures were synced perfectly. However, once I exported them they slowly got out of sync, finally being more that 10 seconds off at the end of the 30 minute presentation (music moved along faster than the pictures). Is there anyway to ensure that what I see at creation stays the same after exporting?

I have never used iPhoto for making my slideshows for export, but I have seen enough problems with the syncing in this forum not to even try. I know you don't want to hear this, but I have no problems with perfect syncing using iMovie to make my slideshows.
is this slideshow going to be burned on a DVD?
What did you export the slideshow to? Quicktime?
If Old Toad comes along, he has a lot of good tips.

My hard drive was replaced. I am using time machine to restore. It is about 40 minutes into the procedure and the computer is still "looking for other sources" is this normal?
First go to iPhoto Preferences, look in both General and Advanced tabs to make sure that things are set to import from camera into iPhoto.
Then if that doesn't help, connect the camera and open Image Capture in your Applications > Utilities folder and see if you can use Image Capture to reset the import path from the camera to iPhoto.
