Slighty shocked on usage after just one day

I moved to BT Infinity just yesterday. I haven't been online massively since then - at least I thought not! Done a bit of facebooking, watched an hour's telly via my nowtv box, checked my emails and that's about it. I did try out the free wifi at my mothers earlier on my kindle. I thought for interest to check how my of my 20gb I had used in just one day and was shocked to the core to see my usage is at 1.88gb. How is this possible???? Going on that as a guide and what I normally do online I'm going to have exhausted the allowance in the first week, never mind it lasting the month.
I would be glad of any suggestions. I used to turn off my router when I left for the day with the previous one I had as I am the only one in the property and therefore I saw no point in leaving it chugging away. Would this help with the infinity router?

i downgrade from unlimited to 40gb about a year ago and within 2 months i had topped my monthly 40gb by only 700mb and was fined £5 for going over. the only reason was i downloaded a couple of games that month.
for peace of mind i upgraded again.
ive now gone for the unlimited infinity 2 as dont want to get caught out again.

I have been a BT broadband customer for some time now but in the last 2 months I have had useage warning e mails and sure enough my useage is near the 40Gb limit, probably over now but I cant check as useage monitor is always 2 days behind. The useage monitor shows my average as 21Gb so why the sudden increase? Is the useage monitor correct? Is something else using my broadband? How can I check?
Do BT have another problem?

With useage monitor showing an average of 21.01Gb at end of Aug 2014 this has now increased to 22.09Gb after two months of very high useage shown, actually exceeded limit for August. I am not aware of any significant change in household useage. Reading other forum topics it would seem I am not alone with others having similar issues. I have not signed up for others to use WiFi, very rarely download films, BT Sport etc.
As I do not trust the BT Monitor, which is always 2 days behind, I have now installed tbbmeter to see what that shows. I know it will only capture what the computer is using and not include anything else but it should help indicate if it is my pc or some other device. More to folow when I have some data to look at.

Can't find wireless at home after just one day

The first day back home, everything was fine, I can find the wireless name in the airport list and use it normally.
then I just folded the MBP as usual (I bought it last Fall, and use it normally)
the next morning I couldn't find the wireless at home but only could find the neighbors', even we both use TP-LINK router.
Till today it's more than 3 weeks that I couldn't do anything with my MBP.
I deleted all the old wireless record in the preference list and add my home wireless usr name and passwrd but nothing happened, still can't connect to it/
I can connect to internet normally at a coffee bar or starbucks.
all the other devices at home ,like my iphone and ipad , and my 27inch imac can connect to my home wireless normally, but sometimes the imac will lose the connection.
I read the discussion about the similar problem in this forum, but I decide to ask it again because the most strange part is , my MBP connected to it normally at the first day!!!!
I bought my MBP last year through online shop in CANADA. I don't think it will be a channel problem since I did can connect to it in the first day.
I didn't add any software for the airport or internet connection, either.
If somebody could have any idea that will be so helpful. Thank you.

Location services based on wi-fi is dependent on the Wi-Fi access point database having a known location. It is also not dependent on your own wireless AP, it uses all the APs it can see. It is possible your AP was never in the database, but a neighbor's was. If the neighbor's AP can't be seen or has been removed, you would lose "your" location information.
SkyHook wireless maintains a database that Apple used at one point (or still uses). You can try adding your AP (Time Capsule) to their database and see if that generates a location after a few days. http://www.skyhookwireless.com/howitworks/submit_ap.php
My understanding is Apple is collecting locations based on iPhone/iPad location data tied with visible Wi-Fi APs, but I don't have any solid source. So, I don't know if they still uses SkyHook data. I submitted mine years ago and was "located" shortly thereafter.

Battery damaged after just one year of use

I am a medical student residing in hostel.I bought my Lenovo3000N100 notebook in feb'2007.After just one year of very minimal usage, the notebook battery has failed and now requires replacement.
How can such a company as lenovo's battery expire after 1 yr of use of maybe just 1-2 hours of running time per day or even less???
Even companies like ACER n HP have given better performance of their batteries which my roomates are using 3years n 2 years running n still working fine without any complains to date.
This battery problem has created a negative publicity for lenovo in my hostel and now nobody in my hostel or acquaintance wants to buy a lenovo product seeing my condition.

Deleting the application will not delete your projects.
Normally I keep all my work files on a separate drive.
If you command click on the title name of your project you will get a drop down path to show you the location of your book project.
or you can click on the drop down triangle beside its name to duplicate.
Just remember where you saved the file too.
In your applications folder on your computer select the iBA icon and press delete and also erase / empty the trash can.
You can then go back to the APP STORE and install iBA from new again.

Without proper system information and other details nobody can tell you anything. If the program shuts down after a while then presumably it fails to verify your activation, so refer to this:

Hard disk failure after just six days of purchase

I purchased a dv6-3093ca from Costco just six days ago, and the laptop completely froze up on me. I had to force shut down by holding down the power key. Afterwards the laptop was never able to restart Windows again (freezes at the welcome screen, and the system repair does nothing). I did a system diagnostics test and it passed every test except hard disk, which it failed.
Does anyone know how I can fish my files out of this? I didn't even have time to backup yet, because I figured a computer should at least survive for a couple of weeks before needing a backup...
This is completely unacceptable, because not only is the laptop top tier in terms of specs, it's actually one of the most expensive Pavilions as well. A brand new $1k computer broke down in just six days? I was merely running Firefox + MS Word + MSN at the time. Is there any fix for this (in case something like chkdsk works)? If not I guess I'll have to return it...

Come to think of it I'm not that surprised this happened now. I own three HP laptops (relatives bought the other two). One laptop basically could not be used for a long time with Vista, kept freezing for no reason, found it later it was another hardware problem. The more recent one's hard drive broke in just six days due to overheating, thanks to some idiot's design of cramming an i7 + 6GB RAM into a poorly designed system. The moronic "tech support"'s answer was "we will provide an exchange for you, after we send you a cardboard box, you send us the laptop, we fool around with it, then give you another hard drive when we feel like it, and by "when we feel like it", we mean either 2 weeks or 2 months". Yes it takes a lot of tech knowledge to come up with that kind of solution, and it took him an entire half an hour to type that into the computer as well. Waiting two weeks for an exchange that might break again? Lol like any person with a normal mind would do that. Returned it for a full refund right now and never touching another crappy HP product again. You fail at creating laptops HP, and what's even worse is that you fail at customer service as well.

Firefox is caching like crazy. Over 1.712 items for just one day of webbrowsing. It didn't used to do that.

Just for a regular webbrowsing session, I noticed Firefox is caching more and more. While there is no significant change is my webbrowsing pattern - like visiting other websites.
It gives me the feel the response of Firefox is lacking because of this.

I did a test myself. I reset my data counters and went on 3G and tested how mch data would be used if she accidentally opened google maps, weather, stocks, loaded a page in safari and then browsed the App store, then downloaded some emails with photos.
In total I used about 2 MB of data not 69 MB.
Of course she never used any of these apps, it was just a test to see how much data I would use.
So although apps use a fair amount of data. I've seen that you will never accidentally use 69 MB in one day and not even know it.
The only way I could think of using 69 MB would be to specifically browse to a website with a large file (video for example, or maybe a large tiff) and specifically download it.
It would seem then that if one wanted to, one could limit their data usage while roaming by not intentionally downloading any large files.
This appears not to be the case though because of this "mystery" data charge.
Rogers has a plan where they charge you $1 per MB instead of $10 per MB while roaming (it costs $10 per month plus the data charges). That seems pretty reasonable to me, as long as she didn't end up using 69 MB per day - then the charge would be $69 per day which isn't very cheap. Thats why I am afraid to use data roaming still, at least until I can explain the mystery charge.
Her email is set up as POP (her server only supports POP). Does anybody know if POP uses a lot more data than IMAP (I use IMAP and my data usage has never been 69 MB in one day).
Does POP by any chance download every attachment when checking mail, or does it only download attachments when clicking on messages.
The weird part is her entire inbox is probably less than 69 MB so even that would not explain the high usage.

Stopping Process Chain schedule for just one day...

Our source systems and BI are getting a patch upgrade during this weekend and I need to stop all the Process Chains schedule for Friday night/ Saturday morning. Is there a simple way I can stop all the Process Chains from executing just for tomorrow instead of manually removing each PC from schedule and again putting them back on schedule on Saturday?

You can reschedule them instead of de-schedule and schedule back.
1)open your process chain in rspc1
2) goto planning mode
3) right click on start --> display schedule job
4) select the job --> in menu bar --> click on first one from left --> change
here change the dates as per your requirement and save the job.
If you have any event based chains which are going to start after time based chains gets complete, no need to de-schedule as we are not going get trigger from time based chains.
I don't think so we have any program to de-schedule all the chains at a time.

Checked out that link and everything seems to be in order on this machine at this time.
I only have CC installed on this one machine, not even my secondary machine like is permitted. it seems odd that I'm asked to re-accept the Licence Agreement as often as I am. If I had to guess, it's almost every week, if not multiple times some weeks, that all the software will decide I should have to view the licence agreement.
Edit: I've never had any noticeable "errors" activating or anything like that. I just get asked to do it quite frequently.
This activation screen isn't too annoying (it involves clicking one single button), but like I stated earlier, if I'm trying to launch the software by double-clicking on a PSD, AI, PPROJ, AEP, etc... that file will fail to open.
I feel like that's probably not really a bug, but it is frustrating, since I did launch the application with the intent to edit that specific file I tried to open.
Again, something that you guys may consider working on.
Another annoyance is that: agreeing to the licence agreement is a per-application task, so if I see that Licence Agreement dialogue window by opening Photoshop (for example), I know that every other piece of software I have in the suite (Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, Audition) will be showing me that screen on it's next launch. Probably deliberate for legal purposes that I can't just agree once for the whole suite, but heck, it would save me a lot of minor headaches if it was a unified agreement.

IPhone 3GS failing after just two days

Two days, most of the time its been very snappy. Crashed within first hour or so while using camera app, hard reboot fixed that. Has slowed down around 4 times, but I have been using it a lot installing around 50 apps and reboot always restored it to full snappy speed. Was just using Yelp app, clicked sign up for service through phone, was changing my profile image using built in camera app, then it started to slow. Hard reboot didn't fix it this time.
I've tried DFU restore, normal restore, both without backup, sync or any content, problem persists. Everything is working, just super slow, some apps load much faster than others, but still slow, sometimes my touch aren't recognized. Sometimes apps get stuck in cycle of switching back and fore the same two parts.
What now? will my local Vodafone store replace it? I bought from their online store. I've waited months for this phone, now I have to wait even longer to use it and put up with my girlfriend who thinks I'm an idiot for spending a lump of our money on the worst phone she's ever used ;(

Yes, you said you did a full restore...but there are two different ways to do that...itunes gives two options you select from...
Restore as new iPhone
Restore from backup
You need to make sure to choose the Restore as new iPhone!!!
Also...inside the iTunes folders you should see one that is named iPhone Software Updates...Find that folder and delete the currently stored iPhone Firmware version file...then restore and this forces iTunes to download a new copy from the Apple server, then make sure to choose restore as new iPhone when asked...

How do I get all history when I click on it in the menu bar? My history shows just one day, and bookmarks folders.

What shows up when I click on History is a window displaying a folder for history and a folder for bookmarks. In the history folder is listed only the current tabs that are open, that's all. The other folder is bookmarks, and it shows subfolders for all bookmarks, every one of them. The prior complete display disappeared just recently, a week or so ago.

Are your using the '''Show All History''' menu item?
