Sloooooow Internet - Have a heart, help a noob!
Hi All,
Brand new to this forum and basically a novice to Apples in general. I understand I must not be the first to post on this topic but I searched a few and it seems others are having different issues with their Airport.
The problem I have is an EXTREMELY slow connection to the internet from my black MacBook. I am a Comcast subscriber and use a Linksys router but I don't believe the issue is with either of these because other computers work fine in this network. At speedtest.net I showed 132 kb/s download and 322 kb/s upload. Horrible, I know!
Please help! Is there a setting I have turned off (robustness switch does nothing) or a code I need to interact with the linksys router better?
I appreciate any and all help.

It sounds like people are having issues only at their houses, but works fine at Apple Store/ other places. This tells me that it is not the MacBook problem.
If you are having problems with wireless internet, check that the routers are up to date. Some don't play nice with Intel-Macs cause they have not had their firmware updated. Please check all aspects of your system. Apple has done just about everything to make your Intel-Mac work right out of the box. If it doesn't, don't just assume it is the Apple Product. Check those routers, check the firmware. Check with router manufacturer. I know, they always say it is an Apple issue. Unforetunately, it usually isn't, once all is said and done.

Thank you. I put it in airplane mode like you suggested, but it looks to me like all the applications and ads are still running. Anyway, I'm just gonna play when I'm really really bored and use them as less as possible. Thank you again for your quick answer.

You will have to do the checking for what is available in The Netherlands, or else be very, very patient for somebody else in your area to come by who can tell you which store to go to. I suggest looking for models similar to the one I indicated in the link. Do make sure they are specified as being Mac compatible. Mac drivers are usually built into a device so don't buy one one for a PC in the hope that you can find a Mac driver online. Only in a few cases are Mac drivers featured as separate files.

Try to reset all setting on your phone and see. If issues still persist try to back up your phone using iTunes and restore it using computer. -
Hi, I have recently done some online updates and now I have to restart my mac each time for the stupid thing to recognise my internet settings. Any help gratefully accepted.

Were they Apple updates from Software Update or were they downloaded updates, including 3rd party updates from a website (Including Apple's)? -
I installed the latest version of iTunes on my Windows XP. I can launch it but it won't connect to the store because it says I don't have a network connection but I do because I'm on the internet right now! Help!

Please help me. My YouTube app will not work. Every time I open it says 'cannot connect to youtube'. I have searched for help and tried resetting my settings and rebooting my ipad2 but nothing has solved the issue.
Yes, I am connected to the Internet through my wifi. Everything is working fine with the e eption of youtube. I have reset all Internet settings and have tried synching to iTunes followed by rebooting. This is all the advice I have found although none of it has been helpful.

You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)

Since you have already isolated it down to your home network, if following Steve's instructions do not fix your issue, contact your Internet Service Provider or Router Manufacturer and make sure your network is set up according to this information: iOS and OS X: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

Since you have no internet connection, you cannot access the apps for download. So, your options are to find other sources for apps that you can DL to your PC and install to your BB via the Desktop Software. But downloading direct to your BB would require a data connection.

Wi-Fi signal excellent but can't connect to internet??? Help
It all started yesterday.
I was surfing for a few minutes right after i turn on my computer and everything was running well
suddenly after 5 minutes or so,
i open another window and it said "You are not connected to internet"
i look at the wi-fi signal and it was perfect
it confuses me
so I decided to restart my computer and turn off the wi-fi and turn it on again. that fix the problem for 5-10 minutes.
and now, my computer can't totally connect to the internet.
no matter what i do.
i tried every solution i've seen in the forums but it doesn't work.
please lord have mercy! help me guys.
my macbook pro is using Mac OS X Version 10.5.8Hi When ever I have had that problem, I unplug the modem power,wait 30 seconds and plug it back in. If that doesn't work, I call my ISP. It's usually their problem, and they fix it for me.
