Slovak Telekom 4G/LTE support for BlackBerry Q10

Hello,
last month my carrier Slovak Telekom launched 4G/LTE network in our country (www.telekom.sk/english/press-center/press-releases/slovak-telekom-launches-first-nationwide-4g-lte-n... I would like to use my BB Q10 (SQN100-3) in 4G network, but my Q10 is not supported yet (in network mode 4G is missing). When will be Q10 supported? From what/who does the 4G/LTE functionality depend? From mobile carrier or BlackBerry?
Thanks
Kalliopp

Hi Julobaco,
you are right Q10 supports all Slovak frequencies you mentioned. There was not a problem with supporting frequencies. There was the problem, that LTE setting was disabled in the Network mode before May 2014. Thanks to the latest OS update 10.2.1.3175 released during end of May 2014 is LTE already enabled in the Network mode menu. Slovak Telekom LTE is available from November 2013. It means I was not able to use Slovak Telekom LTE for 6-7 months due to disabled LTE capability in the Network menu with Slovak Telekom SIM card on my Q10. I think it is very long time for waiting to a carrier update. It is finally ok

    hello,
I think you'll have much more answers if you post in one of the three discussion boards "Blackberry Development" :
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim?category.id=BlackBerryDevelopment
Anyways, RIM has a website for people who want to start developing, it's here :

  • PGP Support for BlackBerry Update

    Hi,
Are there any plans, dates or details for an update to the PGP Support for Blackberry package?
Also, what is the process for logging & tracking feature requests relating to this package?
The particular feature we desperately want to see is:
To give a user the ability to send an encrypted e-mail with attachments from a BlackBerry device that is operating the PGP Support for BlackBerry package.
Currently the package can receive (decrypt) emails with attachments and only send (encrypt) emails without attachments. There is no workaround for this and it is a mayor limitation of the PGP Support for BlackBerry package. It is holding back the package from being rolled out to a larger market audience, and limiting existing users tremendously.
This feature request has now been logged with Symantec:
    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/ideas/pgp-support-blackberry-encrypted-e-mail-attachments
    and emailed to [email protected]
Any advice, comments or thoughts are welcomed.
    Thanks,

I too would love to see this update! I feel most of RIM's resources are probably being put into getting BB 10 and infrastructure ready for launch?
My workaround for this issue is to install the SMIME support package and have users send encrypted attachments via SMIME. PGP support package has been updated to work with the SMIME package (to a degree). It automatically looks up certificates attached to the PGP users keys and encrypts and decrypts based on those public/private certificates.
Unfortunely the SMIME package isnt as user friendly, users contantly have to hit the blackberry button and then more or more all to load the entire message for longer messages and messages with attachments.
So far I can't seem to get AES Encryption working with the SMIME support package, only have managed to get 3DES and a few other inferior encryption algoriths to work with the SMIME package.

  • Support for Blackberry?

Does anyone know whether OCFO 10 provides improved support for Blackberry Desktop Manager? The previous version only supported up to version 3.6 (without SP1 or SP2).
    Thank you.

    Hello,
The question is really one for RIM. So far, the Intellisync fixes have not been implemented in the Blackberry Desktop releases so you'll have to continue to run it against version 3.6.0 or earlier. The architecture changes to OCFO that will help circumvent this problem will not be available until mid-2006.
For over-the-air wireless synchronization, we have a number of great solutions for you. Through our partnership with Consilient, we can offer Blackberry-Oracle synchronization, and we'll soon be offering a push-IMAP solution for email that will work even better. You should talk to your Oracle Account Manager for more information about those solutions.
    Hope that helps,

  • Os 10.3 expected release for blackberry Q10 with videotron

    Hi,
I own a blackberry q10 on the videotron network. I can't update my device to the os 10.3 to be able to use blackberry blend and the new functions.
Do you know when I can expect the release of the update for the q10 device with videotron?
    Thanks a lot

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
No one here, in this user-to-user community, has any access to the answer to your question. Indeed, even BB does not know...for it is the responsibility of each carrier to approve the OS released by BB and then subsequently release it to their users. So, the proper place to pose your question is indeed to your carrier, as it is they who control it for you.
    Good luck!

  • No Direct support for BlackBerry PlayBook tablet - why not I just bought it?

I've just bought a playbook. It says it comes with complimentary technical support for 90 days form the date of purchase. I have attempted to register the device using the S/N number as required and I get the following:
Unfortunately, your BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet does not qualify for Complimentary Support. You can, however, get assistance using incident based support from Research In Motion.
    Why? grrrrrrrrrrrr

It should be. The complimentary support is just for help setting it up.
If you visit http://blackberry.com/support and follow the link for PlayBook you should get a phone number you can call, and RIM support will be able to help you.

    Hi hardisk88,
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
The RM model compatible with India is RM-937. The phone supports LTE frequency bands, however your network provider should also support this service to enjoy LTE connections using your Lumia 1520 in India. Here's the supported LTE frequency bands: LTE bands: 2100, 1800, 2600, 900, 200.
    Hope this helps.

  • Bulgarian as an input language for BlackBerry Q10

Please add Bulgarian, a language of the European community, as an input language for BlackBerry smartphones. It's a great disappointment to find that your home language is not available on your phone, especially as Bulgaria has been part of the EU for more than 6 years now. I hope BlackBerry software developers will show respect towards their, not few, Bulgarian clients and am awaiting of a comment to my post.

You can load another carrier's OS on your phone. You just need to see if Danish is a language in one of the multilanguage OS packages for the 8320. Check out the following link for how to load the multilanguage OS on your phone

  • LTE Support for 3 UK and Kitkat Update

So it seems I'm not able to select LTE as a network preference while I have my 3 Mobile Sim in my phone.  LTE does appear with another carriers sim in but 3 is my main provider so this is a problem.  Does anyone know if this has been fixed with the Kitkat update?
Also, ragarding the update I cant get it yet and I dont understand why.  I have a sim free (non carrier branded) version and I cant get the update despite seeing plenty of people with the same phone being able to get theirs.  What is the point in rolling the update out so slowly?  Its not like the same thing is done with any other devices - for example, when an update comes out for a computer everyone gets it at once.  I don't see why non branded phones cant get the update all at once.
Coudl someone provide some advice on my LTE issue and when I might get the kitkat update?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You are doing nothing wrong re not being able to get 3UK 4G on the phone
Basically 3UK have been giving their clients the runaround for the better of two months now but have finally started owning up to the fact that.
    a) you need a carrier update to make the Z1C compact to work on their 4G settings ( each carrier has specific settings and 3UK ones were not avaible to the 4.3 base build)
    b) they promised their clients like us who bought unlocked phones from Sony etc that they would send us the update once available
    c) and NO - they are now admitting they are not going to send out these updates to open market phones, but you need to contact the manufacturer to get the latest update.
This is based on summary of conversations that happens on their 4G blog, where lots of people with Z1C, LG2 etc are having this issue.
Good news - 4.4 KK has the correct settings for 3UK 4G,
Bad news, SUS/PCC are still not showing the build for me and more bad news, 4.4.2 seems to be riddled with bugs so better wait for the announced 4.4.3
3 have definitly missold a lot of us the contract - however i may just hang on to it as we can at least look forward to uncapped tethering if you bought before 18 March

  • Please Add LTE Band 12 Support for better connection

I was deeply disappointed to find the recent 5.1.1 release of Android didn't include adding Band 12 support to the Z3C! The Sony representative I spoke to in March said the phone had the radio to be able to connect via Band 12 and just needed to be enabled in the software. Recently you enabled Band 12 for the Z3 (http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/06/03/t-mobile-updates-its-xperia-z3-to-lollipop-throws-in-band-12-lte-support-for-good-measure/) so you clearly have the software to do this already, please please please add it to the Z3C software!!! For anyone on T-mobile it will equate to a substantial improvement in signal availability and strength, and everything else you do is much less important than that! Thanks.
