Slow 24in imac. pinwheel constantly running switching applications web pages ect...

this problem is if i do a restart it runs good for a few hours. have ran disk utility, smc reset,& pram reset. so far this has made no difference. any other suggestions. used to be a windows user. somewhat new to mac. really dont have anything sucking up memory(at least that i know of) just pics and music.

How much free HD space does it have. Mac's need a minimum of 10-15% of the total HD available at all times. For example if it has a 640GB HD, at a minimum 64-96GB should be free.
If it has plenty of disc space it could be very low on RAM. Open Activity Monitor (Applications - Utilities - Activity Monitor) and first look to see if any processes are taking a large %CPU. If you see that occurring then that app is the problem. While you are in AM click the System Memory tab and report back how much:
Free
Wired
Active
Inactive
Used
RAM your system has under normal circumstances. If the Free RAM is in the are of 500MB or lower then it needs a RAM upgrade.

What's the format of your video? That will give you a hint as to what plugin is failing (or missing).
If you don't know, what's the URL of your site - it shouldn't take long for someone to work out the specifics.

  • Displaying OBIEE content inside a Div (part of HTML) of an external application/Web page

We are able  get the particular catalog item say a Report/ Chart when a OBIEE go URL launched in a browser.
But what is the way to displaying the same chart/report content in my external application. I want display the OBIEE chart/report content as a part of my application web page on load?
    How can i achieve that?
loading the content in an IFrame using Go URL didn't work? Im also  dont want to that.
I tried sending request to the GO URL via jQuery AJAX. But it didnt Help.
I have tried also sending request to GO URL via Apache HTTP client to get the response content. But OBIEE server returned the following response
"Your browser is not supported by Oracle BI Presentation Services"
Any Help in this is appreciated?

The service WCM_PLACEHOLDER can not use JSPX templates (because it can only evaluate them as UCM can evaluate and UCM cannot evaluate the JSPX version SSXA is using).
WCM_PLACEHOLDER can work if you create an HCSP template but then you only have access to Idoc Script and not JSPX.
This is my understanding. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

  • IMac fan constantly running, I've tried everything!!

    Hi,
    I have a Mac (21.5-inch, Mid 2010)
Processor: 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3,
    Memory: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3,
Graphics: ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB,
    Running Yosemite 10.10.1
The fan is constantly running quite loud. I have never had this problem until recently and it seems to have started doing it for no apparent reason. I have changed any settings or done anything recently. In fact, the most recent change was upgrading to Yosemite.
I have tried doing a SMC reset (several times) which didn't change anything. I have tried lots of doing different ways of doing a Apple Hardware/Diagnostics Test and it told me that "The Apple Hardware Test is not compatible with this machine".
I have kept a close look at my Activity Monitor and nothing is spiking, average use is: System 2.75%, User 5.67%, Idle 90.4%
Using smcFanControl I know the fan is running at 29C and average 996rpm. I don't know if those stats are normal or not, but my fan is still making more noise than it ever has.
Please, can somebody help! I have been trying for weeks now with no success. I very worried that using my Mac is going to damage something and I desperately need it for work. Can anybody suggest anything outside of taking it to apple because that is my last resort which is going to cost me a lot of money
Thank you in advance for your help

The fans always run, that's normal. What's not normal is that you hear them as much as you do unless you use your imac in an EXTREMELY quiet environment. I think that 996rpm is actually lower than normal, you shouldn't hear that at all. Maybe you have a fan that's starting to fail and is making abnormal noise.
Running the Apple Hardware Test on your mac requires the original gray install discs that came with the computer when it was new, do you have those? AHT is on disc two, insert it and hold D at start up and AHT will start.

  • IMac Fan constantly running OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.1 (14B25)

Does anyone have this problem my iMac is going to be about a 1 1/2 year old now and the fan is constantly running and never shuts off. This happened from day one took it back to Apple store when first notice the problem which was 1 week later. They told me it was nothing and all iMacs run the fan and do not get to much concern. He did something like unplugging the cord and pressing the power button 2 times holding down for 10 sec each time he said had to reset pram  or something like that. It went away for a day and came back tried his procedure and works once or twice and back come on the fan all day. But when in sleep mode goes off. But when on you can feel the air out of back coming out. Is thee anyway to stop it someone told me maybe the motherboard was going or the ram was bad but the Apple tech was I think honest with me he said they have these issue's and there is really nothing to do with the fan noise. The computer is not hot at all to touch and he told me thats when I really have to worry then if it feels hot to touch then shut it down and wait till next day to turn back on. I do not know what to make out with this issue. Anyone know of a fix for this that I can do? There is nothing blocking the computer is wide open only have a cable modem on the side next to printer. I just want piece and quite again thats why I bought a Mac. My pc windows 7 never did this and my laptop never did this either never saw anything like this until I got my very first Mac. Little upset with Apple support they are useless and did not even offer me a new one when I went back a week later they were very rude to me I paid $1299.00 for nosey machine and no help.I am a very frustrated Mac user and thats why I do not own a Apple phone I like Android much better and cheaper than Apple products and from what I have read about the new phone software being so bad even with the updates that another reason I will never have a iPhone. So any help with my fan will be a great help sorry for venting on here.I do apologize for that but need to vent as my fan is driving me nuts. Thank you all

Do you know of any free ones that I can keep that are good?
In a word no. I keep hoping for better low price offerings in the App store, but Marcel Bresink eschews the App Store and the relatively cheap temperature reporting apps I have found there do not report fan speed which in your case, and I suspect many, is critical. Be aware that due to manufacturing tolerances some fans are simply noisier than others.
For what it is worth the fan in my late 2012 Mac mini is currently spinning at around 4,700 RPM and I all I can here is a faint sound of moving air. I get more noise from the fan in my external HD/optical drive enclosure when burning a CD/DVD which of course generates a lot of heat.

  • Local Intranet App needs to run app from web page

I have a vb.net executible app that resides on a group of users on our local network and I want to integrate an ASP.Net website that is also local to our internal users so they can select an item on the web page and it would open the executable passing in
a parameter to the app (the vb.net app currently accepts these command line parameters I want to pass in).
I have tried several types of examples ranging from ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell") in JS to Response.ConetentType in code behind. Although there are several posts saying you can run the shell command, I am not having any luck. All users have Win
    7 Pro with IE8 and IE10.
I know this is not a good way to do this, but I need to show a proof of concept, and just need to show it can work. I would like to ultinmately create an Accelerator of Add-in that could do this properly.
Can anyone provide some help please?
Here is snippets of code tried:
code behind page with Grid of records:
Private Sub GridView1_SelectedIndexChanged(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles GridView1.SelectedIndexChanged
        Response.Clear()
Dim AppPath As String = "\\\\MyPC\\MyShare\\Winforms.exe"
Dim TestApp As String = System.IO.Path.GetFileName(TripleAPath)

        Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "filename=" + TestApp)
        Response.TransmitFile(AppPath)
        Response.End()
    End Sub
And here is the js scriptmanager example I am trying to run from a button click. I get error about shell failure:
Specifically automation error cannot create object, and here is the line in break mode:
    <script type="text/javascript"> function OpenApp() {var ws = new ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell"); ws.Exec("g:\\Winform.exe");} </script>
    And here is the code:

    Hi Daniel,
this forum is for questions about html, css and scripting for website development.
I have a vb.net executible app that resides on a group of users on our local network and I want to integrate an ASP.Net website that is also local to our internal users so they can select an item on the web page and it would open the executable passing in
a parameter to the app (the vb.net app currently accepts these command line parameters I want to pass in).
I think an ActiveX control or a hosted WBC in your VB.net app are the only viable solutions.

  • IMac won't run any applications

We had a power outage yesterday.  Since restarting my iMac, it will not launch any application (including finder).
I cannot click on anything without it failing.  So I can't even tell you precisely which version of OS X I am running.
However, I was able to open safari guest mode and am currently typing this from that.  Seems to be working fine.
I have tried restarting the computer in safe mode a few times and am not getting anywhere.
Wanted to see if there is anything else I try before lugging this in to a Mac store...

Without knowing which OS is installed, we would be just guessing the troubleshooting suggestions.  Each OS has their own.  Also, you should always know which OS version is installed on a Mac.  Otherwise, how would you know which software is compatible to install/download?

  • Switch application in page menuModel

    Hi!
Is possible to use the same menumodel for af:page and menuSwitch (af:menuChoice) facet of it? ... how? wath type? level?
    Thanks for advance.
    Roy

It's a good idea to put them on the Web Start. I downloaded that program before. I have seen some java examples on the sun technical articles. the author displays a link to the program and once you click on it the web start prompts the user to download the application.the applecation, then , is accessible through web start.
However there is a procedure you should go through so that your application is be a web start application.
I am sure sun.com has some article about that. search for it.
    and good luck

I'm facing the same problems in the production release 10.1.3.1.0 on Linux. I followed the guidelines of "Oracle JDeveloper 10g for Forms & PL/SQL Developers". When I created the template, I didn't manage to get the page rendered in the visual editor (see note on page 345). Even after restarting JDeveloper I'm facing the same problems.
    Any idea's?

  • How to run Reports6 on Web?

    Hi,
I have been sucessfull in Web enabling the Developer 6 Forms using OAS4071, Developer Server and JInitiator 1.1.7.27.
I would like to know how to run Reports 6 on the Web. I have installed as mentioned in the On-Line doc but when I try to start the Reports Server from NT Services it given some error.
I would like to know how to actually run Reports from Forms using RUN_PRODUCT built-in by passing parameters from Forms to Reports.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

You don't run the report with Run_Product to display it on the user's web browser, you run a report web page that runs the report and displays the output. Do this with Web.Show_Document (see the online help for syntax; the parameters are part of the URL in the standard way).

  • My ipad air is slower loading web pages and opening apps than ipad 2

Bought new ipad air a month ago, it seems very slow compared to my ipad 2, when loading web pages and apps, is anyone else having these problems or have I got a faulty ipad?

    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings for Wi-Fi, FaceTime, Message, Home Sharing will be reset

  • Upgraded to Yosemite. Super slow and ReportCrash constantly running...

I upgraded to Yosemite the other day and my iMac (2011) is running super slow. I've done the whole PRAM reset, the SMC reset, the boot into Safe Mode, the Repair Disk and Permission from Recovery Mode, turned off File Vault and Transparency, etc. and it's still pretty slow. But I did notice in both Activity Monitor and Console that ReportCrash is constantly running. It didn't run in Safe Mode, but even in Safe Mode the computer was equally slow, especially with Safari. I'll paste some of the Console logs below in case someone can tell me what's going on. My other question is: should I do a clean install or just roll back to Mavericks, since the features I wanted (Handoff and SMS Messages) don't even work with Yosemite on my iMac. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off merely by the seeming complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can read it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of the script have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
    4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
    5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
    exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
    10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return  three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
    [Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report what happened. No harm will be done.
    12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
    14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.

Please describe the problem in as much relevant detail as possible. The "etrecheck" fad hasn't made that step any less necessary. The usual results of posting etrecheck output on this site without a full description of the problem are very poor. The better your description, the better the chance of a solution.
For example, if the computer is slow, which specific actions are slow? Is it slow all the time, or only sometimes? What other changes did you make, if any, just before it became slow? Have you seen any alerts or error messages? Have you done anything to try to fix it? Most importantly, do you have a current backup of all data? If the answer to the last question is "no," back up now. Ask if you need guidance. Do nothing else until you have a backup.

    @ O.P.,
You cross-posted this to at least two other forum web sites:
    http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/solaris-opensolaris-20/application-running-too-slow-on-sun-sparc-t5440-but-run-normal-on-sun-m3000-4175411155/
    http://www.unix.com/solaris/189945-application-running-too-slow-sun-sparc-t5440-but-run-normal-sun-m3000.html
... and didn't think that was important enough to simply mention the fact.
Timestamps suggest that OTN was the last place you posted to.
    Poor forum etiquette.
Why would anyone spend the time to try to give help that you have already received elsewhere? That's a waste of their time.
(Yes, you already received the suggestion to use Dtrace in one of those other sites.)
