!!!SLOW CALENDAR ON 8530 AFTER UPDATE TO 5.0.0.734!!!

Hello everyone,
I was looking through this forum, and I didn't come across anyone mentioning anything about this, so I'm hoping that I'm just doing something wrong...
I recently updated my Berry's OS to 5.0.0.734, and ever since I have done that, my calendar is just unusable. When I click the icon to get into the calendar, it just hangs for about 10-20 seconds (depending on what's all open)and doesn't let me do anything, not even exit out... Total hang... and then once it does get into the calendar, it hangs again before it lets me scroll to enter an appointment. Altogether, it probably will take me 20-30 seconds to get to the point where I can start typing the actual appointment details.
What did I do?? Is there any cure? Do I have to roll-back??? I've never had to roll-back a Berry before, is that something simple? This really sucks!
Please PIN me or just add me to BB Messenger - PIN:XXXXXXXX
Please help!!
Thanks for your time...

Solved!
Go to Solution.

Problem solved...
I downgraded to the previous version of the BlackBerry OS (OS: 5.0.0.508) and all of my pains have disappeared. I just couldn'y live without a responsive phone...
For whatever reason, the recent software upgrade failed miserably, or is miserable to begin with. I recommend keeping 5.0.0.508, and not going to 5.0.0.734.
Anyway, I was able to restore my never ending recurrances in my Calendar and it's up as soon as I click the calendar app icon on the home screen.
Bifocals, I really appreciate the time you took, but two days was long enough for me without a decent phone... now I'm a proud and happy BlackBerry Curve owner again.
Hope we can chat again down the road... just not about Calendars being slow... hehehe.
Sincerely,
~Tom

O/S Windows XP Professional 32Bit + Ati Catalyst Drivers "10-2_legacy_xp32-64_dd_ccc" and I am generally using Firefox up to date.
I made yesterday an experiment, removed the 11th version of Flash Player Plugin & ActiveX, and installed from the archive the 10th version of plugin + 11th activex and then everything worked like it supposed to be - fine. But i have failed to install 10th version of ActiveX, i'ts just telling me that cannot be installed, some kind of error.
P.S. I think i've fixed my issues, i tried to install again from the Adobe Flash Player archive version 10.3.183.18 ActiveX & Plugin and i did it.Now .flv are running like 2 days ago - without any problems.
Maybe the thing is that my configuration is slow for the new version of the player,my CPU isn't multicore, but still it is not bad for the Adobe programmers to optimize the new version better for slower pc's.
    Cheers!

  • IPhone heating up, laggy, slow and low battery after updating to 7.1.1

I mean, after upgrading to 7.1 my iPhone 4 worked very well, actually worked pretty fast, I felt like I'm back on iOS 6, and liked the iOS 7 for the first time. But now after updating to 7.1.1, battery drains very quickly, it's so slow, and laggy, also iPhone heats up really fast when I'm using it. Is it the same to you or it's happening just to me? My friend also called me last night and said "Is your iPhone heating up like mine", it seems I'm not the only one??
Also, iPhone heats up mostly around the camera...

Even my iphone 4 was heating up like ****, i cant even touch it with my bear hands... Too much heat, too much draining of battery. Even normal usage without any data connection & wifi, i am getting 2-3 hours backup. That is too ridiculous. I'm going crazy with this bloody 7.1.1 update. I am starting hating iphone for the first time because of this issue...

  • I can no longer sync my calendar via USB after updating to Mavericks.

Updated to Mavericks, set up iCloud but itunes (11.1.5) will no longer sync calendars with my iphone.
Worked fine under osx10.8 before the update.
I phone is an old 3g running ios 3.1 (yeah, I know it's old) so I realize that wifi syncing will no longer work.
I would like to be able to sync my calendar via USB. Otherwise, sycing music etc via cable still works fine.
Please don't just suggest that I buy a new phone. I will soon. But in the meantime I would like to solve this problem as it has caused me trouble with missed meetings and conflicting timetables.

Yes, there are many posts on it. It is no longer possible in Mavericks to locally sync Calanders and Contacts via USB. Nut there are plenty of alternatives beside iCloud.
    Here are some solutions.
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6311
    Here is another
    http://www.apple.com/au/osx/server/
    Here is yet another
If your Mavericks came with anything other than Mavericks pre-installed
OS X Mavericks: Revert to a previous OS X version
Also there are a host of other Cloud services you can use. You do not have to use iCloud at all. Although there ARE over 320+ million iCloud accounts presently active, so it is extremely popular with users.

  • Calendar not working after update to iOS 5

Not able to add events in calendar and not able to add new contacts. The + is not there in either app?
No updates available for either. Built in apps that are on iPad when purchased.

Go to Settings>iCloud>Contacts>On - do the same for the calendar. You can toggle the settings on and off as well and then try again - if you don't want to sync to iCloud.

  • Calendar component width after updating to Update 1

    Hi.
Since updating to Creator 2 update1 I have found that the calendar component appears to be calculating its width differently.
Previously it appeared to include the calendar popup button when working out its own width.
Now it seems to only include the textfield area. This means that the popup button now is outside its boundaries.
The effect of this is that when putting the calendar in a grid, any components to its right (also in the grid) overlap the button part of the calendar.
Has anyone else seen similar behaviour, and is there any workaround ?
    Regards,
    Ian

Edwin, can you please, oh pretty please change the
Calendar component to use SimpleDateFormat instead of
DateFormat?I don't remember where DateFormat is used, but a SimpleDateFormat extends DateFormat so you may be able to use SimpleDateFormat. Having had to fix various bugs with the built-in calendar, I think that it needs a redesign. So instead you may want to look at the prototype popup calendar that is will be included in the AJAX V3 complib. I hope that one will suit your needs. I'd like to hear your feedback on the new component.

  • Calendar events disappeared after updating to iOS 8.1

i updated to iOS 8.1 yesterday. I had all my calendar events in my iPhone calendar app and WeekCal app this morning. This afternoon, they disappeared. I checked my iCal on my computer. The events are all there. How do I sync the events. I prefer them to go into WeekCal, but at this point, either is fine.

    Things I have already tried:
    - logging out of itunes, then restarting
    - unlinking the device via the 'view Apple ID' menu
    - updating to iOS 8.1.2
correction to my original post, it is not all purchased movies and shows it is trying, just 9 specific ones.

  • Unbearable slow network with E4200v2 after update to 2.1.41.164606

I've been struggling for a while with slow overall network connection. I noticed it all started after upgrading the router to the latest firmware 2.1.41.164606Various data points: - The slowness is intermittent and inmmediate solution is to reboot the router. Sometimes is every day, sometimes it lasts for a week.- Access to 192.168.1.1 gets really slow, to the point is almost impossible to use, when in slow mode. - Slowness is both wired and wireless. I'm really frustrated about this issue. Anyone see a way to solve this?

Did you do a factory reset after doing the upgrade? If not then do that now by holding the red reset button for about 15 seconds until it starts to reboot, remove power for about 10 seconds then restore power. Once it finishes booting after the reset configure the router from scratch not a restore. That can sometimes fix a lot of issues.

  • "Week Calendar" wiped clean after update

Updated my phone, went to add an entry to my calendar and noticed it was completely blank.  I am hoping info can be restored and I do not have to start over.  I have no idea if I backed it up or if it was synced to somewhere else.  I do not know where to start to look. HELP!

    Hi woodahman,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand you want to try to restore your iPhone to try and recover some calendar information. Before restoring go to the iCloud website (www.icloud.com) and log in with your iCloud information. If your calendars are here then we do not want to restore.
If your calendars are not on iCloud and you would still like to restore, the following article explains where your backups are located (both iCloud and iTunes) and how to restore from each.
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

Please let me know if I can be of more assistance.
    Have a great day,

  • Is anyone having problems with FB app not opening and calendar appts disappearing after update

Since I did the most recent update yesterday, the FBI app won't open.  Also, all my reminders have disappeared.  All still work on iPhone, just not on pad.
    Thanks in advance!

My problems with the Healt App are all over the map. The information on Withings Health Mate is totally accurate, and updates immediately.  I have their scale (since 2011) and wireless blood pressure monitor. Also, I find the heart rate senson on the iPhone 6 to work well, every time.
This issue for me is with Apple's Health app. I get ridiculous readings on the Dashboards. For example, it shows my daily average in steps as 170,688, and miles walked at 80. Hardly! Additionally, the Dashbord widgets will disappear/reappear for no reason. I have tried switching the priority of data sources for the steps dashboard between Withings and my iPhone 6 (because it is indicated that the top source governs the dashboard info), to no avail.
Lastly, I don't know how to interpret the infomration on the individual dashboards. On the same line as the word "Steps" there is a number, i.e. 14,272 steps, and just under it the word "Today." However, when I switch from "Day," "Week,," "Month," and "Year," those number don't change. Below the word Today is a number (which changes all the time), and at the bottom of the widget, just above the month (October now) is the number 1,149,749. Nice.
I would like to get the Apple Watch next year, but if the Health App cannot be fixed I may not.

  • Finder extremely slow over  Airport Network after updating to 10.4.11

Hi, I have a problem with 10.4.11. Since I upgraded, about two weeks ago, I experienced an intolerable slowdown of the Finder over my Airport network. When trying to access folders and files located on my Powerbook (PowerPC G4) from a Mac Mini (also PowerPC G4) over the network the Finder stops, sometimes for minutes before opening a folder or copying a file.
When I tried the reverse, e.g. accessing the desktop Mac Mini from the Powerbook (which still runs 10.4.10) all worked fine, in reasonable time.
Do anybody have a similar problem? How can it be cured?
    Thanks for helping.
    Piero

I have the exact same issue, and so does my sister, who has an iMac on the same network. Did you ever find a solution?
At this point, it's so annoying that I'm thinking of downgrading to 10.4.10. Does anyone know if this will fix the issue and what the ramifications of downgrading might be? Anyone know where 10.4.10 can be found?

  • After updating my ios4 to ios 6.1, it became very slow. Browsing my music takes forever. How do i fix it to make it fast again without losing my music files?

After updating my ipod touch 4th gen ios 4.1 to ios 6.1.6, browsing my music files became super slow..I lost all my music files and was even forced to download new ones..But im not happy with maneuvering my music files after the update as it takes really slow to move from one playlist to another..I wish I could downgrade it to my original ios 4 as it was much faster then in maneuvering music files. Or is there a way for me to make it faster???Im only using my ipod touch 4th gen for listening to my music files and nothing more. I also noticed that whenever I dock my ipod touch to my Bose sound Dock, the remote control only function on its volume controls but not the skip buttons. i sent my Bose dock to Bose service center and told me that my Bose dock system is working fine but not my Ipod touch 4th gen.. Pls help me...

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
Also, go to Bose's support site, they may have suggestions for that problem

  • Any ideas? In the history may iPad never crashed but after updating to iOS 5 it crashed every 30 minutes, and browsing is very slow

Any ideas? In the history may iPad never crashed but after updating to iOS 5 it crashed every 30 minutes, and browsing is very slowAny ideas? In the history may iPad never crashed but after updating to iOS 5 it crashed every 30 minutes, and browsing is very slow

I found the reason why our iPads are slow after iOS 5!!!!!!!
What you need to do is this:
    1) launch settings, go to mail contacts and calendars, go to fetch new data, advanced, and set iCloud to fetch.
    2) go back and set an interval of when to fetch. Mine is set for thirty minutes.
    3) make sure on top push is still on, that means that all your emails will still be pushed, but all the iCloud sync (contacts, calendars, reminders, bookmarks) will happen at the interval you choose.
Restart the device. Your performance should be 10x faster! No more keyboard lag, nothing! Doing this puts less stress on the A4 chip, which we know we need every bit we can get with it now!!!
    Optional:
    1) in the settings, go to safari.
    2) clear all history and cookies/data
    3) enable private browsing. One of the biggest reasons why devices are slow is because it keeps all the history and cookies in the RAM. You need more RAM to make things faster. By turning on private browsing, it never records it!

  • HT204017 After updating to Yosemite my Macbook is slow

After updating to Yosemite my Macbook is slow, especially iTunes

Hi, I have also found that iTunes is really slow as well after the update. I'm getting quite attached to the pinwheel
