Slow/clunky display since 23" screen purchase

My black macbook has been running fantastically well since I bought it earlier this year but since recently connecting it to a 23" Apple cinema display I've noticed that things seem a little clunky. For example, opening pictures in iPhoto is rather choppy... compared to how smooth it was before.
Would more RAM cure this issue (I currently have 2GB installed) or is it more of a weak graphics card issue for a screen this size?
Thanks

Did this operating system comes with this PC (OEM)?
Did you also having issue with Windows Genuine?
If yes, maybe graphic card manufactured caused this issue. I suggest contact HP to guide you to troubleshot Hardware issue. Based on my experience, OEM OS will have abnormal behavior since there is replacement CPU, graphic card, memory ect. HP build and
test this PC based on their own specification, check the HW upgrade suggestion at HP site. try to update the driver like CPU and BIOS

  • I have a macbook 13"screen purchased in 2007; I want to hook it up to my HDTV; I purchased a mini display port to hdmi adaptor but it does not fit.   what kind of adaptor will work for this model?

I have a Macbook, 13" screen, purchased in 2007.    I want to hook it up to my HDTV; I purchased a mini display port to hdmi adapter but it does not fit.   Any suggestions?

If you connect yourMacBook using a MiniDVI/HDMI adapter you will need to use external speakers for audio since the pre-2010 MacBooks will only send video through the MiniDVI or MiniDisplay Port . The MiniDVI/HDMI doesn't carry audio and there's no audio plugs on the TV to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.
If your TV has a DVI input plug you can use a MiniDisplayPort/DVI adapter. Then a DVI cable to the DVI input plug on the TV. The TV will have RCA audio plugs for use with the DVI. Plus DVI gives a sharper image than HDMI.

  • My macbook pro freezes and then displays a blue screen with black stripes... do you know what's wrong with it?

My macbook pro freezes and then displays a blue screen with black stripes... do you know what's wrong with it?
I have a two and half year mac book pro... I've had some issues with the screen looking scrambled when I quit certain applications, but now it's turned into something worse.  I'll be working on my computer and the thing will freeze.  When I force restart, the first screen, the apple logo, will be a blue tint and won't boot up normally.  Then I try safe mood and it will then boot just fine.  But there are blue stripes on my screen.  The screen alternates from a blue tint to normal and if the computer freezes again the screen will become completely blue with black stripes.  I haven't tried reinstalling my software because I don't have the startup discs that came with my computer.  If I was sure that would fix it I would purchase them, but if it's a hardware issue I'm afraid that I'm screwed.  I've been able to successfully get the blue off my screen by putting it to sleep and then waking it up, but that's not working well anymore either.
Does anyone else have experience with this?  Is it the firmware or what?  I have a MacBook Pro from early 2011 and I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8.
    Please help... Thanks!

I just experienced this exact same issue with my early 2011 15" macbook pro. Since like a month after purchasing it I had issues with the screen randomly going dark on me. I sent it in for repair inder waranty they replaced the gpu and logic board but I continued to have the same issues with the screen randomly going black sometimes I would need to reboot it in order to get the screen to go back on but it happened so infrequently and I used the computer for school so disnt find the time to resend it in to apple. Just last night the screen started to display the blue screen with black verticle lines on it. I called apple and explained to them  the issues that had been ongoing since I purchased the laptop but they said because I was now outside of warantee that any repairs at thia point wouldn't be covered. Fml so glad I spent 2200 on this future proof macbook pro what a joke my sister purchased a toshiba laptop for 300 4 years ago and it still running like a champ. I loved my macbook but at the price I paid I expect it to last longer than 2 years before leaving me high and dry. *** apple??

  • My ihone only displays a white screen and I want to fix it myself.

my iphone will only display a white screen can I fix it and how can I?

At this point, you probably be better off saving up for and purchasing a new one. Apple will not help you since you opened the iPod up.  A third party repair company may be able to help but the cost will likely be near the cost of buying a new Nano.

  • Firefox will not display on the screen even though with Process Explorer I see Firefox.exe active but no CPU usage

I use Firefox v10.0.2 as default browser on Dell XPS8300 e/w Intel Core i5 & Windows 7 Ultimate and Compaq Presario CQ57 e/w Intel Core i3 & Windows 7 Home. More frequently on the (about 90% of attempts) than the Dell (50% of attempts) Firefox will not display to the screen when I click on icon. When it happens I cannot display other programs. I specifically say display because I believe Firefox has started. To circumvent the problem I installed Process Explorer on both machines and start this program first then click on Firefox icon. When problem occurs I can see Firefox.exe process in Process list; some CPU consumed but, then, no CPU activity. If I click on Firefox icon again another process opens in Process list but with same response - some CPU consumed and then no CPU activity. If I have 2 processes running and kill the 1st process, the 2nd will display and everything from then on is normal. If I do not open a 2nd process but kill the 1st process then click on Firefox icon Firefox is displayed and everything from then on is normal. This problem has occurred since original installation on both new machines. I've updated video drivers in both machines.

Ok, let's see if we can fix this and get it working for you!
First, if you start Firefox in [[safe mode|safe mode]] (restart your computer first, then when you open Firefox, hold down the shift key) does it start up more reliably? This is usually caused by a faulty add-on. If it does help, then restart Firefox, go into the Firefox button, then add-ons, and disable your extensions one by one until you find the trouble maker.
Also, try updating to Firefox 11, it has several bug fixes that might make life easier here.
Just as a few basic troubleshooting steps to make sure we have all the bases covered,
Run all Windows Updates, install all needed service packs, etc.

Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. [http://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/]. This helps check that there are no viruses on your computer causing issues. you can uninstall this program after you clean off any infections.

  • To display the selection screen variant name in WAD report output.

    Hello experts,
I have a requirement which is to display the selection screen variant description in the output of the WAD report.
I managed halfway, by using the object "Information field", which displays all the values which are selected by the variant.
Example:I have created a cost center report created using WAD, since I need some graphical displays..
In the selection screen, I have the characteristic "cost center" as input field. I have created a variant " GM - IT" which will include few cost centers managed by GM. In the output, I want the dispaly to be "Cost center - GM IT". Currently it displays "Cost Center - a,b,c,d" as the values a,b,c,d are the values from the variant name "GM-IT"
Please let me know if this required any java script. I am not familiar with java / html codes and any help would be much appreciated (and rewarded)
    Thanks in advance
    KS

    Hi,
    Try this.
If you want to include your variables in your WAD means you have to choose "Force Variable Screen" option to be in enabled condition.
TO enable this,in WAD select your Template(New Template1) click the WEBITEM , it'll shows all generic properties , here you can enable this "Force variable screen"
Save and execute your WAD now you can get your variable screen.
    Thanks,

  • I would like to share my ipad on my Windows machine. I got the Ipad to HDMI adaptor but nothing is displayed on the screen... Do I need any additional softwares?

I would like to share my ipad on my Windows machine. I got the Ipad to HDMI adaptor but nothing is displayed on the screen... Do I need any additional softwares?
Actually I would like to have the Ipad connected to pc and then run an application on the ipad (which is shown on my windows machine) and record it on the windows machine... Is this feasible?

If you have an HDMI connection on your computer, it is most likely an output, it won't recieve a signal unless it's on a video capture card. Recording to the PC could be a difficlut task. HDMI is encrypted to keep you from copying but there are ways to do it. It would also depend on what content you intended on recording. If it's movies you have purchased or rented, it would be illegal.

  • Why is my mac book pro mid 2012 display green flickering screen?

Why is my mac book pro mid 2012 displays green flickering screen? I was able to return the screen  back to normal after i turn the lid up and down.
Is this a hardware issue ? should i return to applestore since the warranty still valid?

It seems like your display is damaged. As your computer is in warranty, take your Mac to an Apple Store or reseller to get the display replaced for free, as it's in warranty

  • QT Uncompressed files display with White Screen

    I'm stumped.
I have a few QT files that are uncompressed 8 bit. On my new 8 Core Intel Mac, a G5, and a Mac Mini I can see this file just fine. We're running 10.4.9 and QT 7.1.6. The Mac Minis and G5 are bare bones and have no codecs listed in the Library/Quicktime folder except Apple Intermediate (default).
On all of my Intel XServes however, with the exact same installed universal binary QT codecs as my 8 Core, these same QT uncompressed files only display a white screen. In get info the codec is listed as Uncompressed 8bit 4:2:2. Last time I checked Uncompressed didn't even require a codec.
Any ideas why the XServes can't read these QTs? I've even updated the QT to 7.2 hoping there was an Intel bug, but that didn't fix this.
    Thanks!

There is no single codec for movies that have .avi extensions. AVI is a container format, not a specific type of file. An AVI movie may use one of the Indeo codecs (there are at least four that I'm aware of, none of which have been ported to Mac OS X) or one of the various flavors of DivX, among other possibilities. You'll have to find out what codec was used for the movies you want to view to determine what you need. Note that not all codecs for the various .avi movies are available for QuickTime.
If you want to try "hit and miss", you can try the codecs at http://www.divx.com/ and http://www.3ivx.com/ and see if one of them will work for you. You can also give this player a try:

  • Electrical noise when a white background is displayed on the screen

My iMac 27 mid-2010 got the LCD and graphics card replaced recently, due to the infamous dark spots on the display and some other video problems (vertical dotted lines on the screen).
Those issues are fixed, but now I have a new problem that didn't exist before the repair:
There is an annoying high-pitched electrical noise, but only when a white background is displayed on the screen. For example: When I open a blank page in Safari, the noise comes up. If I switch to another tab with a black background web page, the noise disappears.
The noise is perfectly noticeable, and very annoying, when using the computer in a silent room. It is not related to display brightness, since it's always there no matter what brightness level I set.
The Genius in the local Apple Store was able to hear it, so it's not a problem of perception. But he could neither find the cause nor solve the issue, so he returned the computer to me, with a vague 'its a normal noise, maybe caused by the CPU or the graphics card when they have to display white backgrounds'.
Well, the thing is, this noise wasn't there before the LCD/graphics card replacement. I'm pretty sure about it, since I have been using this computer in a daily basis for the past two years and I know each and every noise that comes out of it.
I would like to ask if any of you know of this problem. I've done a lot of searching in the internet, but couldn't find anything about this noise in particular.
    Thanks,
    Miguel

    Hi, thanks for your suggestion.
Unfortunately, they have made up their mind about this issue. I even talked to the Store Manager, asking for a solution, but he pretty much ignored me saying he had full confidence in his team: if the genius says the noise is 'normal', then there's nothing more to discuss. Full stop.
They just replaced a fan, which didn't solve anything, because the noise is clearly electrical in nature, NOT mechanical. I suspect it's related to capacitor resonance in the graphics card. The display and LED backlight panel seem to be OK, since the noise is not heard when I use the mac in target display mode via the mini-displayport input.
I gave them this information in order to help with the diagnosis, but they didn't even bother to write it down.
So far, the Apple Technical service seems very un-professional to me. I'm stuck with a defective computer for which I've paid 2.000 euros + Apple Care.
Well, in this case, Apple doesn't Care at all. I can't even find an email address where I can submit a written formal complain.
    (Sorry for the rant)

  • For 19 hours my iPod touch is displaying a black screen, no matter what I do.  It appears to be reloading.  I've tried everything.

My iPod touch has 'freezed up'.  It has displayed a black screen, which appears to be reloading.  I've tried to turn it off, I have also charged it; connected it to my MacBook and 'Restored' it.  However, nothing has worked.  It still appears to be reloading.  It is going on 20 hours since the problem started.  I have a 32GB iPod touch 3rd Generation.

Have you tried resetting the iPod?
    Try this:
Press the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time.
Hold until the Apple Logo appears.

  • WD Application display's blanck screen on new client

    Hi,
I am trying to run my WD application on my new client machine( Laptop), but after running the applicatio, it just displays the blank screen.Contrary to this, my all BSP applications are running perfectly fine on new client machine.
what could be possible cause of this issue?
    Regards
    PG

    Hi,
    Just to change my question:
Now when I am running any WDA application on any machine , its just showing me a Blank screen in IE with message at bottom status bar Finish. So it does not give any warning or error message, just displays a blanck screen.
Also I checked with some other user ID's and they have the same issue. So all WD application with any user ID just displays the blanck screen.
I am still wondering about root cause, since all applications were running perfectly fine yesterday and I am facing this issue from today.

  • Slow iMac Startup since OS 10.4.4

I have an iSight iMac G5, 20 inch version.
Since upgrading to 10.4.4 I have noticed start up is very slow.
Push the button, screen remains black, but light is on the front, for about 15/20 seconds, then screen comes on and start up of the rest is superfast (as before).
    Any ideas anyone?

Cron scripts are automatically done by the computer, but they happen at strange times (I've heard 2-3am) and the computer needs to be on and not sleeping for it to happen. Most people don't leave their computers on all night without putting them to sleep, so developers have created these little apps to do it manually (you can also do it from the console, i think). All they do is empty and rearrange some logs and caches. If you type "cron script" into the search discissions bar (upper right corner) you should find plenty on them. Hope this helps!

  • 5s turns off and displays a blue screen

I purchased my 32gb 5s about a month ago. Last evening, (without touching it) it looked like it was restarting but would display a blue screen, jump back to the logo screen and then black out. I held down the power button and it stopped. This morning it started doing the same thing and it it's happening over and over again. I can't get it to turn on.
Has anyone had the same problem? What did you do to fix it?
    With much appreciation,

On the process of taking the video card off i decide to clean it also. No chemicals or even water, pressure air alone. Ever since, I haven't been able to turn the computer on properly. The computer turn on and like a minute later it turns off automatically, and it continues doing this until i disconnect it. The power button alone won't turn the computer off. In all this process there is no display on the screen at all. By the way, the screen works fine. Can anyone help me?
