Slow component problem (logon page, login - logout)

Hi All,
since some time i'm experiencing a "slow component" problem with EP.
As a sympthom portal is slow during first logon page and during login - logout.
Jarm trace report the situation below:
Component Name     Avg Gross Time (ms)     Total Gross Time (ms)     Max Gross Time (ms)
UME:SAPJ2EEAuthenticator:getLoggedInUser     90,045     450,226     n/a
AppServer:Security:Authentication:LOGIN:com.sap.security.core.server.jaas.SPNegoLoginModule     90,023     450,116     n/a
AppServer:Security:Authentication:FastLoginContext:login     90,022     900,229     n/a
AppServer:Security:Authentication:LOGIN:com.sun.security.auth.module.Krb5LoginModule     90,006     450,031     n/a
(90 seconds to load login page!!)
Seems to be an UME problem, but logs are OK and the configuration is the same of other systems that work fine.
Anyone has any idea ?
Thanks guru !
Lorenzo

Hi,
I am dealing with exactly the same problem. I hope you should have fixed this problem by now. Please help me fix mine.
Many thanks in advance.

  • How to fix extremely slow printing from web pages with latest updates (iMac) & HP Office jet printer. (It was not a problem with earlier versions of Firefox & same computer & printer.)

    The latest two updates of Mozilla Firefox are not useful for me because of extremely slow printing of web pages. It was never a problem before. Same iMac and HP officejet printer. How can I either fix it, or revert to an earlier version of the browser (without losing all my bookmarks) which didn't cause this problem?

    Try scanning from your Mac.  Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
    Click once on the scanner on the left side, then click on Show Details along the bottom.  Along the right side you will see LOTS of options for scanning and saving.

  • WAD 3.x Logon page - javascript problem

    Hi,
    At the beginning, I'd like to mention that I'm not JavaScript  programmer.
    So please be charitable and give clear answers if possible.
    Based on this code in Internet: <a href="http://javascript.about.com/library/bldydrop1.htm">http://javascript.about.com/library/bldydrop1.htm</a>,
    I try to build logon page with two drop-down lists.
    Why it is not possible to post correctly code here even in code brakets?
    Here is the link to FORM coding: <a href="http://justpaste.it/m2h">http://justpaste.it/m2h</a>
    First drop-down base on listed values.
    Second one should select districts based on selected country from first drop-down.
    For automates there will be additional logic.
    My problem is how to connect those two drop-downs?
    I was trying to create function: <a href="http://justpaste.it/m2i">http://justpaste.it/m2i</a>, but it doesn't work.
    If possible please help me to understand this and solve the problem.

    Hi, I am still struggling with this issue. Can anyone suggest how to hit the virtual characteristic exit when a value is selected in the WAD dropdown?
    I am passing the value selected in the dropdown and passing it to the variable but I want the query to rerun and reevaluate the data through the exit using the selected value. What is happening is it just selects the dropdown value and applies to the current result set.
    I did activate the selection screen vailable screen to show after the value is selected in the dropdown and the enter the value there and execute the query again but users don't like the fact of entering the dropdown values again in the selection screen.

  • Very slow login/logout with Portable Home Directories

    I've set up Portable Home Directories for our department so that people can work from different computers if need be (also, I think our network is too slow to use network home directories). However, the login times are excruciating - some users report average 45 minute login times. None of these users are moving huge files or anything, and even if I just log someone out (completing the sync) and then log back in, the login will be very slow.
    If I disconnect the computers from the network, obviously it logs in quickly because it can't connect to the server, but I don't want to do that (or disable login/logout sync altogether). I tried removing things from the login/logout sync rules, but often the sync takes time just on 'Finishing' or 'Stopping', so I don't think that it's any particular files that take a lot of time.
    On a possibly related note, for some reason our computers all take perhaps 30 seconds to get an IP address when starting up, waking up from sleep, etc. Is there any reason why the computer would need to be doing this repeatedly? Especially on logout, this wouldn't seem relevant, but I've seen that mentioned in other threads.
    Thanks in advance for any advice,
    Greg

    Apple Discussions has a special forum just for Portable Home Directories, you might want to search and/or post your question there:

  • Takes ~30 seconds to open logon page. ~50 seconds to log into application.

    Hello all,
    Maybe you can help with some ideas.
    This started 2 x weeks ago, after Siebel gw, web, siebserver bounce.
    Server gets up fast, 1-2 min max, its as usual. srvrmgr sees all servers, gw answering, ohs comunicating. SWSE statistics are being generated fast. But, each time when I trie to open login page it takes ~30 seconds to display it and ~40-50 seconds to log in app. After that everything is fine and fast. If I log out, close browser, open it again its again slow. It seems, like its taking time in Session ID asignment.
    If i check ohs access_log, i see,that images are being loaded fast for login page (but cant see them) and everything stucks here, for ~30-40 seconds:

    Hi all, thx for help.
    Reason, why bounce was done, because of new SRF/BScripts.
    We found out issue, it was because Anonymous user was hanging. Very long authentification/authorization, session ID was not asigned properly. Problem was on DB lvl, bad explain plan.
    This thread can be closed.
    Thank You!

  • Getting ~/Library to sync in background when login/logout sync turned off

    I have a bunch of laptop users with very slow network connections where I need to turn off login/logout sync and only sync data in the background manually. Problem is, if you turn off login/logout sync it also turns off syncing ~/Library in the background.
    Now if you use the Details tab for MCX setting in WGM you can add the key "Sync Preferences in the Background" and set it to "sync" but it doesn't make any difference.
    Anyone know how to work around this so I don't have to sync anything at login/logout but can still sync Preferences in background when I manually do a sync?

    I don't think it's in the GUI, but you can manage this stuff pretty granularly with the following boolean flags in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.homeSync.plist:
    <key>syncBackgroundSetAtLogin</key>
    <string>dontSync</string>
    <key>syncBackgroundSetAtLogout</key>
    <string>dontSync</string>
    <key>syncPreferencesAtLogin</key>
    <string>dontSync</string>
    <key>syncPreferencesAtLogout</key>
    <string>sync</string>
    <key>syncPreferencesAtSyncNow</key>
    <string>dontSync</string>
    <key>syncPreferencesInBackground</key>
    <string>dontSync</string>
    I think the keys you want are syncPreferencesInBackground and/or syncPreferencesAtSyncNow. However, I found that this unpredicatably didn't sync everything. PHD has a generally hard time with open files and many of these files are open. Also, note that 10.5 changed in that it considers any hidden folders loose in your home folder (e.g. .ssh/) to be included in "Preference" syncing only occurring at Logout and Login. This isn't really documented or shown anywhere. I'm pretty sure that they are ignored in the background *even with* the above flags in use. Note that I haven't played with these in a while, so your mileage might vary. Perhaps they're just not ready for prime time.
    EDIT:
    Actually, I just remember where and how I found these: You need to follow the directions for "Using the Preference Editor to Manage Core Services" on page 236 of the User Management manual. This gives you the location of Preference Manifest for Home Folder Syncing which has a bucketload of cool options, including automatic conflict resolution.

  • Error on Portal Logon Page

    Hi Experts,
    We are getting exception while calling the Portal URL.
    Recently, we changed the password policy and made some customizations on the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file.
    After that when I tried to access the Logon page, it gave an exception.
    I even replaced the customized logon par file with the original one but it did not help.
    Please note that I deployed the logon par file with the same name, so I did not have to make any changes in the authschemes.xml file.
    So ideally when I replaced the customized PAR file with the original one, it should have worked out.
    Can it be because of some UME property "Password Policy change" or something like that which has been changed by our Basis team  in the Config tool and which is creating issues now.
    Is there any connection between the UME property and the Portal Logon page? I know that UME comes into picture once the user clicks on Login button after entering the login credentials but does it also come in picture at the portal logon page call?
    We are not able to trace out the root cause as both Password Policy Change and deployment of PAR was done parallely due to which we are confused about the cause of the issue.
    Please find below the trace against the exception ID:

    Hi,
    Check if your portalapp.xml has an entry "<property name="ClassName" value="com.sapportals.portal.ume.component.logon.SAPMLogonComponent"/>"
    If it is there, then I feel that this is an issue with jar files not getting imported properly.
    Just try including these two jars (umlogonbase.jar and com.sap.portal.runtime.logon_api.jar) from
    usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.portal.runtime.logon\lib
    and copy manually to the lib folder under PORTAL-INF in your project.
    Regards,
    Vijay.

  • I am having problems opening pages in safari. the rotating wheel at the right end of the address window doesn't stop even after the page has filled up. then if i try to open other pages it gets stuck and won't open them.

    I started having problems opening pages today. When first open a page it seems to download the page OK, but the rotating wheel on the right-hand end of the address field keeps rotating after the page is completely filled up. Then if I try to open other pages it becomes slower and eventually stops filling-in the pages, while the rotating wheel keeps rotating.
    I wonder whether junk is being downloaded into my mac, or what is going on. Help will be geatly appreciated.

    When was the last time you emptied the Safari cache?
    From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
    If that didn't make a difference, go back to the menu bar click Safari > Reset Safari. Select the top 5 boxes then click Reset.
    And how much free space on the startup disk?
    Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 15% free disk space. Freeing Up Hard Disk Space - Mac Guides
    If emptying cache or resetting didn't help and there's enough free space on the startup disk, login to another user account, launch Safari. Same problems there indicates a system wide problem. Log back into your admin account so you can check the startup disk.
    Launch Disk Utility. /Applications/Utilities
    Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left then select the First Aid tab.
    Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
    If the startup disk needs repairing, follow the instructions for Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks
    I wonder whether junk is being downloaded into my mac
    Nothing should "download" to your Mac unless you initiate the download yourself. You can check the Downloads folder from the Safari > Window menu or your Downloads folder in the Finder.

  • Portal Runtime Error: Logon Page Modified!!!!

    Hi all
    I have modified the Logon Page to include a New Drop down.
    I copied com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak to my NewParProject0.par and modified the Logon Page with the Following code addition:
       <tr>
           <td width="161" height="20">
             <label class=urLblStd for="logonCltfield">
                <%=logonLocale.get("CLIENT")%>
                <span class=urLblReq> *</span>
             </label>
           </td>
           <td>
        <select id="clientType" class="DROPDOWN" style="width:2in">
       <option CLASS="DROPDOWN" value ="100" selected>100</option>

       <option CLASS="DROPDOWN" value ="130">130</option>
        </select>
         </td>
       </tr>
    The above process is done as per the documentation given in the <b>Customizing the Logon Screens</b>
    After building the new par file, I moved it into the ...\deployment\pcd
    And i modified the <b>authschemes.xml</b> as per the details given in the <b>help.sap.com(Changing the authschemes.xml File)</b>
    And even i tried changing  value of the property <b>login.authschemes.definition.file</b> to the name of the new authschemes file.

      My Logon screen will get 3 credentials from the User .
       1. User Id (Text appearing in the Screen is User)
       2. Password (Text appearing in the Screen is Password)
       3. Client (Text "CLIENT" should appear similar to the User Id and Password).
      The Value field for the CLIENT should be of type DropDown.
    Hope my requirement is clear. Please Advice on the procedure to be followed...

  • Best way to handle calling the EP logon page

    I would like to be able to handle the following:
    1. Start EP in anonymous/guest mode (basically unauthenticated).
    2. Present an iview that allows a user to fill in some information but when he/she clicks on a button it would first check if the user is logged on and if not -- call up the EP logon page/self registrtion page.  After logging in/self-registrating, the iview would continue processing.
    What is the best way to handle this?
    Regards,
    Mel Calucin
    Bentley Systems, Inc.

    Hi,
    You have to download the com.sap.portal.logon standar "par" and modify the jsp file to simplify the logon page (maybe only input fields for user and password).
    then upload the new .par file to the portal and update the authschems.xml file to redirect the default method to the new ".par".
    You can insert an "enter" button in the home page that launh a pop up to a dummy page with property "default" authentication scheme. Automatically the Portal shows you in the little pop up the simplyfied login page to insert login data. The dummy page need to redirect the parent page to the portallauncher component and close itself.

  • Multiple logon Page for single portal.

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to have two logon pages for the same portal with diffrent URL
    eg:-   url-http://SALES-A.company.com/portal
                 http://SALES-A.company.com/portal
    The code i have used is
    <%
    String strReqURL = request.getRequestURL().toString()==null?"" :
    request.getRequestURL().toString() ;
    //String strReqURL = " http://SALES-A.company.com/portal ";
    int iSlash = strReqURL.indexOf("//") ;
    int iDot = strReqURL.indexOf(".") ;
    System.out.println("iSlash: "+iSlash);
    System.out.println("iDot: "+iDot);
    * out-put for the below substr is '//SALES-A'.Check with this to switch
    between
    * the TWO LOGIN pages. One for the SALES-A Portal and other for the SALES-B.
    strReqURL = strReqURL.substring(iSlash+2,iDot) ;
    System.out.println("strReqURL: "+strReqURL);
    * Sample URL : " http://SALES-A.company.com/portal "
    if ( strReqURL != null && strReqURL.toUpperCase().startsWith( "retepdev") )
    System.out.println("Inside if of strReqURL");
    %> <jsp:forward page="/umLogonPageA.jsp"/>
    <% } else { %>
    <%
    System.out.println("Inside else of strReqURL");
    %>
    <jsp:forward page="/umLogonPageB.jsp"/>
    <%
    %>
    This does not display anything but a blank page.
    Please help its really very urgent.
    Points would be awarded to helpful answers.

    Sanjyoti.

  • Custom Logon Page Error

    I created a custom logon page and its not working. I'm pretty sure that it has to do with the authscheme.xml file. Can someone post the authscheme.xml file they used for their custom logon page, or tell me what is wrong with mine. I posted it below and my custom logon par is named: CM_Logon.par.
    Really appreciate any help.

  • My macbook air is so slow at loading web pages

    Why is my Macbook Air suddenly so slow at loading web pages?

    Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them. In that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
    Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If not, do that now and see whether there's any change.
    If your browser is Safari, then from the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    and confirm. Any change?
    If you're running OS X 10.9 or later, select the Advanced tab in the Preferences window and uncheck the box marked
              Stop plug-ins to save power
    Any change?
    Quit and relaunch the browser. Any change?
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Enable Private Browsing in the Safari menu. Any change?
    Are any other web browsers installed, and are they the same? What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
    If other browsers and Internet applications are also affected, follow these instructions and test. Any change?
    If Parental Controls is active for any user, please turn it off and test. Any change?
    If only Safari is affected, launch the Activity Monitor application and enter "web" (without the quotes) in the search box. If a process named "Safari Web Content" is shown in red or is using more than about 5% of a CPU, select it and force it to quit by clicking the X or Quit Process button in the toolbar of the window. There may be more than one such process. Any improvement?
    Open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the box marked Photo Stream, if it's checked. Any change?
    Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they affected?
    If you can test Safari on another network, is it the same there?
    If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?
