Slow computer after BSOD.

Question

I have an MSI GE60 that runs windows 7. I was trying to use a USB game controller and was repeatedly plugging it in and unplugging it (it was not working) suddenly my computer crashed. After the reboot I did the same thing with the controller. It crashed
again. I then booted it one more time and did not use the controller at all. It has not crashed since. It has been though extremely slow since. Every aspect of it has been sluggish. I have run a memtest and chckdsk. Both of these returned no reported errors.

Diagnose event logs and use performance monitor to pinpoint the cause of troubles.
For detailed analysis use tools from Sysinternals (Process Monitor and Process Explorer)
