Slow connection for downloading dot-dmg file

Have 20-inch iMac G5 with Tiger OS. I had wanted to download a 30-day free trial of Stuffit Deluxe so that I can compress several 5MB jpgs into a smaller file; something easy to transmit by email as attachment. The download time for less than 200 MB was more than ten days. My download bit rate was 0.5 kbits/second. Is this a typical sign of "old age" for the internal wireless?
Using Safari, the icon to indicate downloading keeps moving for as long as 10 seconds. This download speed seems to be unrealistically slow. Is it time to take it in for an overhaul? XBW

Don't waste your time.
jpegs are already compressed. Stuffit won't compres them much if at all.
Besides, you don't need stuffit to compress files.
You can right click - Create Archive to compress it.
If you are using iPhoto or Mail, you can automatically resize photos for email.

You can download and install on your system from Adobe's website. Have you already opened the box you have received? If not, you can return it for an exchange. In the meantime you can download the trial version from this link:

I am not sure if the Windows Serial number will work on your Mac system.

The latest version iOS 6 does not run on the original iPad. That's why you cannot download it.

Cannot download any .dmg files to completion.

Hi, I have a brand new MacBook Pro 13" but I didn't like the short name I used so I quick did a clean install with the 'erase and install' option and changed the shortname (I realize how silly this sounds - should probably have put more thought into it the first time).
Then I upgraded to the Snow Leopard that was included then I installed the applications CD. Using Safari, I tried downloading different dmg's numerous times but I keep getting this error 'Operation couldn't be completed. Safari domain error 2'.
I took the firefox dmg from my other computer but both downloads stopped at 1.2Mb. I'm not sure what happened - is it possible I messed things up when I changed the shortname and if so should I just do another clean install?

I'd do another reinstall, but this time reinstall all the stuff, including the applications. Try downloading and, if it works, get a bootable, external HD (preferably FireWire, since it's 40-50% faster than USB 2 and designed for data transfers), make a bootable backup/clone before updating/upgrading, and ensure that it's bootable and works like the original. That allows you to revert to the previous good state without having to reinstall or reset anything. See these for details:

Slow connection for just one computer even with no firewall.

I just bought an iMac. I currently have a macbook and a PC laptop connected to my airport Extreme. My download speeds for the laptops are fine, but the download speed for the imac is less than 1MB/s. Ranging about 400-600kb.sec I've done an internet speed test through my imac and it said it was 15mb/sec for download. Then i tested it with Vuze, it gave me a little over 3Mb/sec. But Vuze also recognized that i was using a router and showed my speed between my imac and airport router was only 418kb/sec.
I checked my rates using Airport utility and it lists my iMac at 216 (i dont know the units), my macbook at 162, and the PC at 54. The imac has the highest rate. both the apple computers are of 802.11a/n type. the PC is of b/g. The firewall is completely turned off. I dont know what the issue.
Any help or ideas???

The AirPort Utility provides the instaneous bandwidth rate that the wireless client is currently connected to the base station ... in Mbps. The iMac (at 216) and MacBook (at 162) are, most likely, connected to the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station's (AEBSn) 5 GHz radio and the PC laptop (at 54) connecting to the 2.4 GHz radio.
The maximum bandwidth limits are:
54 Mbps for 802.11g. This mode is only available on the 2.4 GHz band.
130 Mbps for 802.11n on the 2.4 GHz band
300 - 450 Mbps for 802.11n on the 5 GHz band with wide-channels enabled.
From the bandwidths that you are getting, the iMac is at pretty much full bandwidth on your local wireless network. That would mean transferring data between the iMac and any other device on the local network should experience relatively high data transfer rates.

Slow speed for downloading app and podcasts by WiFi

My Ipod Touch 5G is very very slow for downloading apps and podcasts, but not with internet browsing or youtube videos. I have an Ipad 2 with not problems in the same WiFi network. But the Ipad don´t have the last iOS update (6.0.1).
Anyone else have the same issue?

Download speed on wifi on my iphone is also slow, but only when downloading podcasts...
Running 6.0.2 on iPhone 5.
On WIFI I can download a 45 mb app from the appstore in less than a minute. I can stream Youtube and Netflix with no problems. Internet browsing - no problems.
But downloading podcasts with Instacast 3, Downcast or the Apple Podcast app happens at a rate of 20-50 kb/s when on WIFI. As soon as I switch to 3g (I am in a european country where 4g/LTE is not yet available) my download speed goes to between 300kb/s and 2 mb/s.

Very slow connection for about one week

For the past week or so my connection speed has dropped massively, usually i could download at about 800kb/s and now it has reduced to around 5-10 kb/s.
My router is connected directly to the phone line, and is connected to my pc via an ethernet cable and and wirelessly to 1 laptop and an xbox 360.
I checked BT service statues and last week there was a problem (which has since been resolved) in the Bishop Auckland area - I have reset my router several times and the problem persists.
I have tried about a dozen times, but as of yet cannot get the BT speedtest to run, I enter my phone number and then the screen remains blank, I have tried this in firefox and IE on both my desktop and laptop. I will carry on trying.
My results from speed.io are quite confusing as the download and upload speeds are "excellent"

It's not built into the language. Your best bet is probably to put the CSV-Reading logic into its own class.
Or find one of the thousands of classes that already implement such a thing.

The Web application displays the bill document.
If the bill document is displayed using a separate Web server (for example,
the Web server of an optical archive), then the URL for displaying the bill details
can be transferred at event 1235 when you create the bill list. The BAdI
FIS_INVOICEDETAIL is not called, but the Web application sends an HTTP

to the Web server for bill details, the Web server does not need to have an
authentication mechanism. SAP delivers an example implementation for

Connecting Other Billing Applications

My Questions:
1. My PDFs are stored on a web server as described in step 3, does that mean that I don't need to use the BADI? How are these URLs generated? Does BD automatically know how to retrieve them from archivelink?
2. My documents are insurance bills, not S&D bills. Does that mean that I need to use the BADI as described in "connecting other billing applications"?
To me there is a lot of ambiguity in the way this is described in the configuration guide. Could use some help with the interpretation.

File structure for downloads of music files

I just purchased and downloaded "Enclosure 5" by Harry Partch. This is a 45 track download. Innova has done their best to number the tracks in such away that they stay organized, but Innova failed. I have communicated my dismay to Philip Blackburn at Innova. There are three section to this work, so the resultant AAC files are listed in my library as 1,1,1,2,2,2,3,3,3 and so forth.
In order to get this music to play in the correct order, I need to re-tag all but the first 13 tracks.
But the same material at Amazon has the samestructure in the .mp3 download as it does on the CD's. In fact, the downloads are listed as Disc 1, Disc 2, Disc 3. So, that is three folders each with its own files.
I think that iTunes needs to look at how it does this, in order to make organization in the library better.

Yes to all. If you look at the "songs" structure for this album, Harry Partch "Enclosure 5", you will see that there are just 45 tracks, with no discrimination or tell-tale sign of organization. And, now, having had to re-tag them, I can tell you that as they sit in iTunes, they are nor in any porper order.
But, if you look at the same album in Amazon, you will see it presented as three discs. It will download as three folders, and the tracks will be in the right order in the right folder.
I know that I can re-tag the files, I have needed to do this sometimes even from CD's I rip.
But I know that Philip Blackburn at Innova tried to get them done right, and they are not right. I took this to Apple's feedback.

In a html page, I would like to provide a hyperlink which points to the word document "myword.doc".
However this does not work as the brother considers the file as a html text and does not open it with MS word.
Any help?

It doesn't think it's html, unless the server tells the browser the content type is text/html, and I highly doubt that, unless you are not linking to the file directly, but linking to a JSP page or servlet which is actually returning the file. In which case, set the content type for the response to the proper type for the file.
