Slow delivery, no notifications

I have 2 GMail accounts, 2 POP accounts and one EAS account all with these settings:
Get Mail: 5 minutes
Show Notifications: On
Play Sound: Off
Vibrate: On
Everyting worked well until 2 days ago.  Now mail sometimes comes in automatically, sometimes not.  When it does it's always much longer than the 5 minute interval.  When mail does come in, there are no visual or vibrate notification.  I've done a reset and a full power cycle, along with removing the battery, with no change.  Anyone have ideas?
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

You may want to try a partial erase (this does remove all PIM data from your device), and then restore data from your Google, Palm and/or EAS accounts. Update 1.0.3 was pushed out within the last few days, and maybe this had some effect on you device. Also remember that when you are on the phone you are not able to access data at the same time; have you had a lot of calls within the last few days, or maybe you are in a poor EVDO service area?

  • Sender receiving endless mail delivery system notifications

    For the past 25 hours (or so) a friend has been receiving REPEATED messages from Mail Delivery System saying:
    "This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Delivery to the following recipeints is still under way after 25.6 hour(s.): [email protected] Will keep trying and contact you if the message can't be delivered permanently."
    How can I/she stop these? She eventually resent the message and all is well, but that original notification regarding the original message is still out there and driving her crazy. DOZENS of these things are being sent by Mail.

    How can I/she stop these?
    You can't. Eventually they'll time out and stop. Meanwhile you can create a Mail rule to delete the notices automatically.

  • Delivery status notifications Code Samples

    Hi,
    I'm looking for some code samples on how to use javamail Delivery status notifications.
    Please, are there any code samples?

    I accept that the recipient must actually confirm receipt but until very recently I could request a delivery status report and would get confirmation that an email had been delivered to the intended server or not as the case may be. Suddenly these confirmations have stopped and I think it unlikely that all the receiving servers have simultaneously been programmed not to send delivery status confirmation. Confirmation of delivery to the receiving server is important, sometimes vital, in my work to demonstrate that non-receipt is a problem at the receiving end and that a document or email was actually sent.

  • I'm getting mail delivery failure notifications quoting email addresses I don't recognize. Is someone using my server identity?

    Hi. I've been getting several email delivery failure notifications recently. I don't recognize the email addresses quoted. Is it possible that someone has hacked into my mail account?

    Either that, or someone is forging your reply address on mail that wasn't sent from your account at all. To tell the difference, you would have to log into your mail account on the Web and check for unusual activity.

  • Edit subject for "Delivery Status Notification Failure"-messages

    We have an Ironport c160 and I wonder if it is possible to edit the subject for the the automatic reply email instead of Delivery Status Notification Failure? We have a content management system (CMS) and I would like to have the ticket number in the subject, just the way it does when the reply is from our internal Exchange server. For example Undeliverble message case #1234-1234567 instead of Delivery Status Notification Failure.
    Regards,
    Peter Bengtslin

    Sounds like someone is spoofing spam from your e-mail address. They do not need to have access to your account. Spammers nearly always put a fake address on the To line, and sometimes they pick an address from their databases as that "fake." So they're putting your address on a fake To line in their e-mails and you're getting the bounces.
    It could be possible that they have hacked your e-mail account, and to protect against that possibility you should change the password on that account. However, this is probably not what has happened.
    Note that this has absolutely nothing to do with your Mac, and there are no viruses for the Mac and only a handful of very rare trojans. See my [Mac Virus guide|http://www.reedcorner.net/thomas/guides/macvirus> for more details.

  • Delivery Status Notification not updating properly??????

    Hi All,
    Am working on in Java Mail API. My application mainly used for sending automated e-mails to Outlook and I have to update the status of that e-mail whether that e-mail has been sent or not, by using DSN(Delivery Status Notification). Here we are using SMTP exchange server and POP3.
    Below lines explain you how we updating the status of that e-mail status:
    When receipient got automated e-mails from our application, one Delivery Receipt will goes to our Outlook mailbox(which gets only the delivery,read receipt status e-mail from that receipients). After they read that e-mail one Read Receipt will goes to that same mail box. Here we have one Java program which reads that mailbox using POP3. While reading that mailbox we are updating that status of the e-mail using some logics.
    Perfectly I can able to update these DSN status in report in my developement environment(here we are using our own configured exchage server). Am using RFC822 to do this.
    following sample code snippet:
    StringBuffer dsn = new StringBuffer();
    dsn.append("SUCCESS,FAILURE,DELAY ORCPT=rfc822;");
    dsn.append(SrvObj.getFromEmailId().trim());
    props.put("mail.smtp.dsn.notify", dsn);
    session = Session.getDefaultInstance(props, null);But while we are using that same in our live application its not worked,because this entire process goes to another exchange server.Sometimes we are getting delivery and read receipt status for some e-mail ids. But some e-mail ids we are not able to get that status. And we have enabled the delivery and read receipt options in all the outlook e-mail ids. Exchange server is also conf

    Nothing guarantees that you'll get a DSN or MSN.
    The server that ultimately delivers the email might not support DSNs or might be configured not to send them.
    The mail reader used to read the message might not support MSNs or the user might choose not to allow them to be sent.
    Unless you have control over all the mail servers and mail readers being used, you can't depend on getting DSNs or MSNs.

  • Mail Delivery System Notifications won't go away

    Hi all
    Tiger 10.4.11, MacBook Pro, Apple Mail.
    I have several Mail Delivery Status Failure notifications that I cannot get rid of. I delete them, they go in the trash, but I go into any other mail box and when I come back to the inbox, there they are again. Right now I have 5 separate messages, all exactly the same. The problem is that I e-mailed someone something that was too big for their server and got this as a notification. But I can't get rid!
    I've junked my envelope index, and re-imported and rebuilt the mailbox. I've deleted off my server (they don't re-appear there) and can't think what else to try.
    Any help please?
    Thanks

    I have now sorted this out - any kind of deleting didn't work, but using the "cut" command from the mail menu bar did.
    Thank goodness, it's been driving me mad...

  • Update Country of Origin in Inbound Delivery(SHipping Notification)

    Hi All:
    I am using GN_DELIVERY_CREATE function module to create inbound shipping notification, in that i am updated the coo in SPE_HERKL field of the internal table XKOMDLGN for each item. This CoO is update in each item of the inbound shipping notification foreigh trade data of the Coury of origin.
    But, the CoO is not update from the internal table XKOMDLGN field SPE_HERKL to CoO in foreign trade data of each item in Inbound shipping notification.
    Please throw some light on it.
    Thanks,

    Hi Lakshmipathi,
    So far we are encountering 2 incorrect deliveries in production. This does not involve Sales order but Purchase Order. I tried to check the country of the Supplying Plant and the country is not the country reflected in the delivery. It is expected that the country of the supplying plant must reflect in the delivery. Checking the PO, it is not also getting the correct country but it is getting the country of the receiving plant. We got confused why it is getting the country of the receiving plant.
    Thanks,
    Rish

  • Slow delivery!

    It would be great to install and experience SL for myself but delivery of my disc is taking forever! I ordered mine a week ago and it's still not arrived. Bearing in mind a fairly significant delivery cost I'm not impressed. Recently paid for some Crucial memory to go to a remote rural location near Limoges and it took less than 24 hours!

    When I ordered a Snow Leopard Family Pack on Aug 28th, the Apple Store clearly stated it'd be 3-5 days before the product would ship. Is it possible you misread this notice as 3-5 days *until receipt* which is quite a different matter? Also, did you expedite your shipping or go with unexpedited free shipping as I did to keep costs down?
    When Apple shipped my SL Family Pack on Sept 2nd (three business days from the time I ordered it) I was happy, expecting it to take at least another five days in transit. When it arrived this morning I was also happy; all in all it took three or four days shorter than anticipated, but it still took a bit over a week to get it.
    I guess everyone's experience is a bit different, but in my case Apple exceeded my expectations of when it would arrive. I see now the Apple Store shows SL ships within 24 hours so I doubt there'll be major delivery issues.

  • I am getting weird delivery delayed notifications from postmaster@mac.***

    When I send my wife an email to her icloud/me/mac.com address, recently I started getting notices from postmaster@mac.*** that say delivery has been delayed and that the email account I'm trying to reach is over quota. Yet, my wife gets the email and insists she's cleaning out her inbox.
    The really weird thing is, the email notice contains a "recipient address" and an "original address." The "original address" is my wife's email, but the "recipient address" is a weird google address.
    My father-in-law says he's getting the same strange notices, but no one else she's emailing with seems to be having the same problem.
    I'm just concerned because of the weird google address.
    Help.
    <Email Edited By Host>

    It's not malware.
    What's going on is one of two things. One possibility would be e-mail spoofing. Spammers almost never send messages from a legit address. They usually fake the From line, adding someone else's e-mail address there. You could be the lucky victim. Of course, that wouldn't explain those messages only going to people you have contacted, but as you haven't given us many details, I'm unsure that this isn't simply coincidence that you're misinterpreting.
    The other possibility would be that a hacker still has access to your account. I'm not familiar with Hotmail, but some free e-mail services have features that can provide a hacker a back door. For example, on GMail, there is a setting that allows you to grant access to other people... so once a hacker has access to your GMail account, they can set it so that they can get back in any time, and changing your password will not help one bit. Hotmail may have some similar weakness.
    It could also be that your account is getting hacked repeatedly. Hotmail accounts are known for being easily hacked, though I don't know whether this is an inherent weakness in Hotmail or just due to having a large population of unsavvy users who use weak passwords. In any case, it's a high-profile target. Are you using secure passwords or weak passwords? Are you frequently accessing your Hotmail account over an unsecured wireless network?

  • Slow delivery of Texts from landline to mobile

    Hi
    Anyone else suffer from long delays from BT Landline to mobile (Orange, Vodafone and Tesco that I know of) when texting?  Seems to range from 2 to 8 hours and always exact hours from being sent.
    Such delays negate using the service but mobile reception at home is minimal (strong on the reception end) hence the use of the landline.
    Thanks
    David

    Thanks for posting dave1966uk. Sorry for the delay you are experiencing when sending texts from your landline. We can't guarantee delivery times for text messages as BT aren’t responsible for the entire Network that the text message crosses.
    Cheers
