Slow email on macbook air

Hi
I am very new to macbook air, I bought a new mac 2015 Jan - but the email loading is super slow with opening, sending receiving emails!
Can someone help with this please
Many thanks in advance,
I.

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder—not just its contents—to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

    Hello jagimc,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at this article:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398
Wi-Fi disconnects, or signal strength is less than expected
Move closer to the Wi-Fi router (access point).
Check for sources of potential interference.
Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if signal strength improves.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN and APN settings.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

CleanMyMac has probably damaged your OS. You could try uninstalling it but it probably won't help. You will need to erase your HD and start over. "Cleaning" software like this is unnecessary and often harmful on Macs and should not be installed.

  • HELP: how to copy all emails from MacBook air to iMac

I lost all emails from my iMac. (issue with some account)
All thoses mails are in duplicate on my MacBook air.
Is there a easy way to copy all my mail from MacBook Air to iMac?
    I have many mailbox.
    Thank you,

  • Safari 6 very slow on MBA/MacBook Air.

I have a MacBook Air which is less than a year old. Granted, it is only the 2gb but for most things it does well. However, running Safari -- especially the latest version 6 -- is painfully slow on this machine. The same version of Safari on my iMac at home does not seem to have the same issue (or at least not nearly to this degree). And I do not have this issue with Firefox or Chrome (Opera does seem to have a similar issue)
Has anyone else had this issue on their MBA? Is it simply a memory issue with Safari being such a memory hog that it needs more than 2gb physical ram to run? Or perhaps it is just a CPU hog? Or perhaps there is something else which I have overlooked that would make a difference? Any thought/suggetions, anyone? I'd really like to speed up Safari on this machine. Safari's ability to save live links when saving a webpage to PDF is unique and much too usefull to make abandoning Safari an option for me.
    Thank you.

Take these steps when you notice the problem.
    Step 1
Launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the page that opens.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. What approximate values are shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec?
    Step 2
You must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way as above. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Post the 50 or so most recent messages in the log — the text, please, not a screenshot.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out before posting.

  • Why is my safari slow on my macbook air after update to yosemite

I updated my MacBook Air to Yosemite a couple of weeks ago.  Since then several websites I frequently use take very long to load and some features don't load at all (i.e. fitbit dashboard).  Before the update all worked fine.

Hi Allen, I too have had similar issues. Could I get you to look at the Etre report I just ran and offer some comments? Would more memory help anything? I kind of hesitate to do that on a whim with a machine this old.

  • OS X Lion - will it slow down my Macbook Air?

Does anyone know if the new OS X Lion will slow down the perfromance of my Macbook Air which has the following specifications:
    2GB, 1,86 GHZ
or is it better to stick with the OS X 10.6.8?
I read today that Lion is having an impact on machines which have processors less than 2GHZ and are only equipped with 2GB
    Thank you.

I did an inplace upgrade on my Gen1 13" 80GB IDE MBA model.
Whilst it was always an overheater of playing anything flash or full screen video I find the performance has not changed since my upgrade.
    I am a light user.
    Internet/cloud documents/messenger & remote desktop/VPN
The boot time was always poor for my MBA, but that said, how often do we reboot them
Ever since day one, I've never been able to run imovie/CS3 as it would throttle my MBA, but Lion installed fine, even when my HDD was 90% full.

  • Yahoo Small Business Email on MacBook Air

All of a sudden yesterday my Yahoo Small Business Email stopped working on Macbook Air.
Works fine on MacBook Pro, iPad 2 and iPhone 6.
Spent an hour with Yahoo Support. (My domain is hosted by Yahoo).
Does anyone have the same issue? It is (or was) a POP account. I deleted and added and deleted and added and deleted and added back.
    No luck. Running Yosemite 10.10.2.

FWIW....I did do searches for a couple of days to this problem. One suggested fix was use IMAP instead of POP. Didn't work.

I tried to resolve the issue by resetting PRAM and reparing the disk (no repair required).
    Thanks in advance.

Do you have bootcamp or a VM installed?
Remove all external devices then test. Do you still see the same slow boot?
    This solution was posted here:
    Clear the kext caches:
    sudo chown root:admin (enter password)
    sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel
    sudo kextcache -system-caches
Do in terminal and reboot. make sure your start up disk is still selected correctly in preferences.
If you search on "ASL Module "com.apple.appstore" claims selected messages." you'll find lots of results and none had the magic bullet fix.
If performance after login is not affected, you might have to live with this until there is a fix.
You need to report it to Apple Feedback so it can be logged and put in the queue to be fixed.

  • Why does gmail load so slow on my macbook air?

Gmail is the only slow loader I have. My Macbook air is only 1 year old and I cleaned the cache. Everything else is super fast. Is there something I can do? (In simple terms, please!)

Sorry, should note I have Safari 5.1.2

  • Everything is very slow on my MacBook Air 2011 with Mavericks

Recenty I found a process kernel_task in my process list. And that process consumed about 300% CPU. I used the following instruction to fix it
    1. Go to About this mac under the apple in the upper left and click on More info
    2. Click on system report
    3. make a note of what it says after Model Identifier
    4. go to your master drive – System -Library – Extensions – IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext -Contents – Plugins – ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext – Contents – Resources – find the name from step 3 and move it to a folder that you can find again if needed.
After fix there was a problem with sound. It was making pauses every 3-5 secconds. So I tried to clear SMC. That has not helped. And I reinstall the system with hard drive formatting. Now I have a clean IOS Mavericks but everything is VERY slow. To turn off the computer I need to press the power button for 10 secconds. After loading everything is very slow. It tells me that it will take 20 hours to full up the battery. Also I have load average at minimum 12 with no activity. But nothing consuming visible in the process list.
    Please help

  • HT2506 when using outlook email on macbook air how do you enlarge the text to readable size?

How do you enlarge text in e-mail from outside e-mail such as Outlook?

    Hi Dorothy,
Took me awhile to get on a Mac that has Safari 5 on it, (I hate Safari past 3.x, so never update or use it).
Anyway, I see no options for that at all, though I think it was rumored that 10.4, 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 would have it!
I think your only options are to use the Zoom in Key Combo of CMD & +, or if you don't have a numeric Keypad then CMD+Shift+equal sign, or in System Preferences>Universal Access>Seeing tab, turn Zoom on, then Option+CMD+= will Zoom it in, Option+CMS+minus sign zooms out again.
There may be some 3rd party system hacks around the text part, but they usually cause problems sooner or later.
