Slow frame rate with Prosilica SmartCam

Have here a Prosilica AVT GT1600C and a very slow frame rate...
Here are my .icd information.
I tried to cope with the balance between the ExposureTimeAbs and AcquisitionFrameRateAbs but dont help.
The .icd file is attached (renamed to .txt), installed version: Vision 2013f2
Does some of the vision cracks find some optimizing issues?
thx in advance

Ah well, yes...    the variables/options are:
lighting - this is the most commonly overlooked, and often the easiest to fix;  use/buy more/better lighting!
lensing - be sure you select a good quality lens (a good lens is more expensive but passes light better), and that the aperture is open as far as possible (unless you have depth of field issues)
exposure duration - as long as possible relative to framerate desired or to prevent blurring if motion involved
use of gain - this should be a last resort as "noise" increases with gain... but slight use of gain can be helpful under marginal lighting conditions

  • K7N2 DELTA2 + 6600GT veyr slow frame rates...

    Hi!
I just bought a Gigabyte 6600GT (I upgrade from a fx5700 Ultra) and I`m using it with a MSI K7N2 Delta 2 and I getting slow frame rates using old games like Formula 1 2002.  The extrange thing is that I use to play that game at full 60 fps with the old 5700 with fsaa4x (I saw similar sysconfigs in my friends pcs with relatively good speed)... Also I upgrade my PSU to an nspire 450w true power.  I used a lot of combination of nforce/forceware drivers with fresh installs but nothing.  The only speed up that I got is in benchmarks, for example Aquamark3 before (5700U): 29230, Aquamark After (6600GT) 45000, 3dmark03 before: 3200, after: 7800, pcmark05 after: 2100, before: 2992.  I`ll try a modded bios that I found here at the forums.
    Any suggestions???

  • Slow Frame Rates on Macbook Air

I play online games on my macbook air, and it always seems to have slower frame rates than my windows laptop (like 5-10 vs 20-30).  I'm guessing battery preservation, but does anyone know how to unlock this?

Yes SP, I play second life which has 3d graphics rendering.  I usually use mid-range graphics settings, and depending on where i am i use my macbook air or windows acer laptop.  I would expect the macbook air to be at least as fast (it is a newer machine as well as a mac!) but even winding down some of the more resource heavy settings i almost never get over 10 frames per second.  On the windows laptop, however, i am flying along at 25-30fps without any messing around. My screen resolution is 1440x900 - default i think on the macbook air?

  • Final cut pro slow frame rate

So whenever I import P2 files into an event I seen to have a slower frame rate during playback. the footage is good because it plays normally in the import media window but it will at a slower frame rate once imported. the video format is 720p 24 frames.

Where do you keep your projects and events? What are your system specs?

  • ISight + Slow Frame Rate

    Hello,
I have been using my isight daily for several months now, and have not had any problems. Two days ago I started experiancing very low framerates, but for my side of the video. I can see the other person clearly and at a good frame rate, but the other person gets a slide show. When I'm not connected I see everything clearly, but when in the video chat, the little window with me in it is also very slow. What can be done to stop this.
I chat with my girlfriend who has a powerbook with tiger so our set ups are almost identical.
Can you please tell me who is mostlikely causing this and what can be done to fix it.
    Thank you,
    Stanislav Jidkov

Hello rhondageske. Until you get a response from Stanislav Jidkov, here are a couple of other ideas you can consider.
If you have already tried all the relevant suggestions in How to get iChat AV working again without success, both you and your chat buddy whith whom you experience this problem should test with several others to be more certain which system has the problem. Only the system that has trouble connecting with several others will need to do the requisite troubleshooting work.
If you do not have enough available buddies for testing, see this list of Buddy Names for iChat Test for contact info for some users willing to help you test.
If your buddy uses a PC, and if testing shows the problem is with the PC end of the connection, your PC friend may need to tune his system, adjust his video quality and frame rate, or consider the other suggestions for the PC side of the connection in Mac Video Chat with PCs.

  • Low Frame rate with new Apple TV.

    Hi,
I just watched a purchased TV show (Top Gear) on my new Apple TV, connected to a 42" flatscreen, and I am not impressed at all with the quality. Apart from the resolution, which we all now, the image is jittery, and the frame rate is so low that when somebody moves his arm you can wee it jump from one frame to another.
Looked at settings on my TV (Sony Bravia) to see if there is something there, but I don't see any setting that might affect this.
    Anyone else has this experience?
    Kind Regards,
    Erwin

Same issue with a British movie I just tried to stream and I didn't think this would help, but it worked like a charm! Definitely the cinemotion. I didn't even know I had that setting. It's way to the left under picture in my Bravia onscreen menu. Just make sure that you turn it off for the correct input. Im more used to using the motion enhancer toggle under options, but that wasn't it.

  • Change frame rate with no slowdown (Premiere Pro)

Hello, I am making a project and need to re-create a film in the style of a silent film, the most common frame rate for silent film is 16 fps. Is there anyway in the post production stage to change the frame rate of the video to 16 from 29.97 without making the clip longer?

See if you can get the look you want by experimenting with the Posterize Time effect.  Leave the frame rate alone.
    Cheers,

  • Mac os x plus quick cams using UVC = slow frame rates...

well i took your advice and picked up a logitech 9000 pro quickcam. this camera is uvc compatible and works out of the box on my macbook running 10.5.2.
the issue i am now having is that the uvc driver is bare bones and doesn't give any way to change the high resolution and low frame rate. the result is that the camera while very sharp gives unacceptable performance approaching 5 fps in any application including quicktime recording.
any ideas on how to resolve this annoyance? the uvc on the mac is unusable for me at this time because i communicate in American Sign Language and need normal smooth video that one gets with the built in i-sight.
    thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, I've not located any OSX drivers or software that allow higher framerates with standard UVC cams. There are a couple of options for you though - run bootcamp and run XP when you need to do signing, using the Windows software and drivers that came with your 9000. Or, buy an old Sony video camera, anything with firewire out will do, and are always available on eBay for about what you paid for the 9000.

  • Intro Movie at slower frame rate when uploaded

The intro movie I created for my photography site plays too
slow when uploaded, thus making the music finish long before the
animation is done; needless to say, this makes for a very tacky
    intro!
Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks

The frame rate is always set to the "prefered" frame rate.
The actual frame rate depends on the server, the speed and the size
of the swf file. The best you can do is to fully optomise the
images before you import them into flash.
As you are into photography I can understand the need for
good quality images thefore it is a case of what do you prefer?
    Good images or good speed!

  • Can you adjust the frame rate with quicktime?

I need to slow the frame rate on an .avi file, and I can find how to do that in big chunks, but how to fine tune. Is this possible on the latest release (just downloaded it) and if not can someone tell me what I can use to change the framer ate on the .avi itself (either way is fine)
I am SO not tech savvy so please assume you are replying to an idiot but thank you very much in advance for any help.

p.s. I discovered that holding the option button and the fast forward give me this control for speeding things up, but I can't figure out how to slow it down - sorry for the missing info

  • Low frame rate with mac to pc video chat

I have a mac with isight using Ichat and 10.4.3. My brother has XP with AIM 5.9 with the latest and greatest Logitech USB 2.0 webcam.
We are able to connect and start a video chat. We see each other. The frame rates from the isight are great on both ends. However, the frame rates from the logitech are about 1 fps on both his computer and mine. We have tried adjusting settings and installing the AIM patch that was referred to in one of the articles.
    what to try next.
    thanks in advance

  • NVidia GT 120 and intermittent low frame-rate with Expose, Dashboard...

I have an iMac early 2009 with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 (256 Mo) graphic card.
I have intermittent low frame-rate problems with Expose, Dasboard and several other large animations...
For example, when I trigger Expose or Dashboard, the animation may sometimes be choppy (with few intermediate images) to very choppy (practically no intermediate images)...
The second after, the same animation may feature a very high frame-rate...
Neither Apple diagnostic tool nor TechTool Deluxe finds any hardware problem.

I have the same iMac, and also have this same problem.
When I first activate Dashboard, the animation is choppy. If I activate it several times in a row very quickly, the animation smooths out noticeably. It's as though the video card is asleep, or cycled down, and then wakes up and springs into action.
This is testable. If I run the command line utility OpenCL Bench immediately following a restart, my iMac's GT 120 gives a time of 14 seconds. If I open iTunes, turn on the visualizer, and then run OpenCL Bench again, the GT 120 gives a time of 1.7 seconds! If I turn off the visualizer, wait a few seconds, and re-run OpenCL Bench, the GT 120's time increases to 5.6 seconds.
The same performance increase/decrease shows up with Dashboard. If I open Dashboard with the iTunes Visualizer running, right off the bat, Dashboard's animation is very smooth. If I turn off the visualizer and wait about 30 seconds, Dashboard's animation is back to choppy.
This is not dependent on the iTunes Visualizer. I can have the "OpenCL Procedural Grass and Terrain Example" running, for example, and get the same results from OpenCL Bench and Dashboard.

  • What is frame rate with 1920x1080/60p?

I'm currently shooting and editing HD 1920x1080/60i (interlaced format, 29.97 frames/sec).  To reduce motion artifacts, I'm considering a change in my workflow to HD 1920x1080/60p (progressive format), but first I must update my understanding of this newer format.  Question 1: What is the frame rate for this format, 30 or 60 frames/sec?  If the answer is 30 frames/sec, why is it called 60p?  Question 2:  How many complete scans (combining odd and even lines) are produced per frame?  Question 3:  Would a Master File exported from Final Cut Pro X (by default, a QuickTime movie file) be progressive or interlaced?  Question 4:  Would iDVD v.08 accept a progressive movie file for making standard DVDs?
Your answers to these questions are very much appreciated.

Thank you, Tom Wolsky and Karsten Schlüter, for your fast replies!
Tom, regarding my Question 4:  Are you sure that the latest version of iDVD can accept progressive 1920x1080 QuickTime movie files at 59.94 frames/sec?  As you may know, iDVD is no longer supported by Apple, and their Technical Support is unable to answer my question.  I respect your experience in this area and would like you to advise me in my proposed switch to a progressive workflow.  I can't afford to shoot in a format that will not allow me to make standard DVDs.
    Best regards from Interlacer.

  • Low frame rate with mask

I added a mask to a mpeg1 .mov file to remove the letterboxing, and now it plays at like 6-7 fps. I had no trouble with the original file, and my computer should obviously have no problems keeping up (the file is only 320x176). Any ideas on what the problem is or if this is common?

That is not an inherent problem with masking mpeg1 files. I just did it in QT 6 to a similar sized 29.97 FPS mpeg and it didn't slow down the FPS playing rate. Perhaps you should try it with a different mpeg and see if the problem is unique to that first one. If it is a general problem with mpeg then try it with a .mov file. If the slow down remains when masking then it probaably should be reported to the QT team at the feedback page:
