Slow iMac following Mavericks installation

Kicked off a previous thread that looked helpful for 'interrupting' despite no warning that people weren't allowed to post on it.  But for anyone with their Mac running horrendously slow after installing Mavericks, try uninstalling Trusteer Rapport - seems to have done the trick for me.  Wish these forums were a bit more user-friendly.

I'm sure whoever suggested creating your own Discussion wanted to make sure you got the attention you required.
It's not as though you're not allowed to "interrupt" someone else's Discussion with your own question, but that makes it less likely it will be directly addressed. Everyone's Mac starts out the same, but the moment you set it up it becomes unique with the potential for problems that are uniquely yours.
Other than those specified in the Terms of Use there are no "rules", but that's simply the best way to exploit this site's resources. If your question elicits nothing but snippy or unhelpful responses, just close that Discussion. Reply to yourself with words to the effect "closed but not solved", mark it "solved" if you wish, and just start a new one. All that should matter to you is getting your problem solved, expeditiously and accurately.
When this site began (first as Apple Tech Exchange, followed by Apple Discussions, followed by what it has become) nearly all of its participants were courteous and professional. Those days ended long ago.
