  • Why is iMessage so slow to send my messages??

When I'm sending a message it takes forever to send it. I'll try shutting off my phone and then the first text I send it sends fast. Then the rest are slow to send. Please help me with this problem.

Same problem here. I have install Mountain Lion, but this has not fixed the problem.
I found the following fix from Glen Carter, but I'm not able to find OPT key to hold it down ???
Re: E-mail so slow to send after Lion upgrade
It appears that Apple is aware of this problem and is working on a fix for a future update. In the meantime you'll need to do the following to resolve the issue:
    1. Quit Mail
    2. Hold down OPT and select LIBRARY from the GO menu
    3. Open Mail --> V2 --> MailData
    4. First, DUPLICATE the "Accounts.plist" so you have a copy that says "Accounts Copy.plist" (Do not edit this one in the event you need to go back to it).
    5. Open the original "Accounts.plist" with TextEdit
    6. Scroll down until you see the following:
    7. WITHOUT changing any other text, change the "25" to "587" so that it looks like this:
    8. Close the Accounts.plist and relaunch Mail.
    Now try sending an email.

  • IPhone slow to send text messages (iOS6)

    Hi,
since the update to iOS6, my iPhone 3GS has been incredibly slow to send text messages. It takes upwards of 5 minutes to send a text message not even 100 characters long. It is certainly not the network because I also had this issue in another town some 40 miles away. I have sent messages to multiple contacts, all with different carriers than me or the same carrier as me and the problem persists with all my contacts. Does anyone else have this issue or a solution?
    Kind regards

SMS requires a cellular connection. iMessage (to other iOS users) and instant messaging apps like Whatsapp, LifeProfile, Pinger, etc, will work over any data connection, including WiFi.

  • Safari has become very slow the last few days, only on a few programs - google, youtube, wikipedia.  Also mail is slow to send and receive.

Safari and mail have become slow only the last few days.  Mail is slow to send and receive, but e-mails do come through.  Safari is very slow to load on only a few web sites - google, wikipedia, youtube.  But fine on others.

    Safari  4.0.3
    Mail   4.2

    Hi Andy...
    safari, Mac OS X (10.6.3)
    10.6.2 / 4.0.3...
Whether you are running Mac OS X 10.6.2 or 10.6.3 your system software is completely outdated.
Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Software Update.
Your Mac OS X needs to be at v10.6.8 / Safari should be 5.1.7
And make sure there's enough free space on the startup disk to install software updates.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop.
Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.

  • Mail slow to send after upgrading to Leopard

Since upgrading to Leopard from Tiger, Mail has been very slow to send. I can create a message "test 123" and click Send and it takes 30 seconds or more before I hear the whoosh. It was almost immediate when sending from Tiger. I can send from my Windows PC on the same network nearly instantly. I have checked the account settings and everything is the same as before the upgrade.

Figured it out, DNS was set to my DSL modem's ethernet gateway 192.168.1.254. I set it to ISPs DNS server on the WAN side and it sends immediately again. Tiger was always set to the DSL gateway though and didn't have any issues.

  • Can,t send sms with nokia 3250

please help.i am failing to send an sms with my nokia 3250.the problem only started recently but i was able to send sms before.if i send an sms it will say resend at maybe 3 to 4 minutes later. when the time comes it will say unable to send message. i installed sms accelerator but nothing changed. i verified the message center number but i still have the problem.pliz help me.

    Hi,
Check the "Message validity" for the period that you
have set for resending messages. If it's short, set
it to "Maximum time". This will enable the Message
center to keep resending the mesages.
I hope this will solve the issue.
    Regards.

  • Mail.app Slow to Send Messages

Sending mail takes forever. After I click send, it can take up to a minute for the send sound to be triggered and the message be sent to the mail server.
I run my own mail server, so I can see that exactly as the sound is played the message is received by the SMTP server.
What on earth is Mail.app doing for that 30-60 seconds after I click send? In Thunderbird there is at most a 4 second delay.

The open-apple-0 Activity Viewer in Mail.app just says:
    Delivering Message
    Connecting to server "SMTP.server.name"
This SMTP server is on a private 1000Mbps LAN. The mail client I use in Linux (also on a separate machine from the server) is able to establish an SMTP connection and send the message almost instantaneously. The fastest OS X can do it is 10-60 seconds.
The same sort of slow connection affect is visible using the "Connect to Server..." feature of the Finder. Perhaps the underlying problem is not with Mail.app but the socket creator in OS X?

  • Very slow network send speeds

I am getting very slow speeds while transferring from my computer to a server. I only have two accounts on this computer - my account and then an administrator account I use as a backup and clean user. With the admin account I am getting 25 MB/sec (limit of the firewire drive I tested with), but only ~10 MB/sec while logged in to my account. Would seem very odd but is there a preference somewhere that would effect the speed of only sending data? Pulling from the server I get ~65 MB/sec. Output of ifconfig shows that I am connected in 1000baseT full-duplex. I have tried both ethernet ports on the Mac, two ports on the switch, and two cables from the etherent port on the Mac to the switch, so the problem doesn't seems to be on the physical layer, but rather only when logged in to my account. Any ideas are appreciated as this is killing my performance during large file saves. Thanks!

Tried again on the admin side. Seems that has slowed down now too. Getting about the same speeds on that account. Is it possible Vmware Fusion is causing any problems? Looks like it created a couple interfaces for network bridging to function, but I can't see how this would effect my network speeds on the host OS. Here is an output of ifconfig just in case it helps

  • Compressor 4 Extremely slow with "send to" option.

I am running Compressor 4.0.1 on an Intel Core 2 Duo (2.66GHz) iMac with 2GB RAM. Compressor isn't always slow, it actually usually takes up the appropriate amount of time for encoding. The problem is when I use the "send to compressor" function in FCP X, it takes forever to encode! I had a 2 minute SD clip that I wanted to export for DVD. I had the settings at 6.5mbps, 2 pass best, and it took 45 minutes to export!! Is there something I'm missing here, or did apple really screw up that bad? (My problem persisted on 4 & 4.0.1)

just saw this as I'm wading through this forum for a problem resolution...ok try these threads for some threads that may be useful.. try heres:
https://discussions.apple.com/message/17357525#17357525 - this relates to disabling PERIAN... give that a shot.
https://discussions.apple.com/message/17361533#17361533 - also a mention of PERIAN in here
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3296490?start=0&tstart=0 - this one is related to MEMORY ... looking at your setup I'd hazzard a guess that this is the culprit as there is on 2GB of real memory on your host. Details in that post to tell you how to know and diagnose..
FCPX and COMPRESSOR utilise a great deal of memory. If you dont have the real memory then your system will page in and out and your system will be perform at glacial pace unless you have a MACBOOKAIR with a ram disk for example.
IF the above is the case..
either add more memory.. 16GB if thats possble these days or at least 8GB or
use FCPX and duplicate the projects and trim the storyline (option+[ and option +]) to reduce the length..and share or "send to compressor.app V4. then quit FCPX after the compressor.app has received the job (where you can submit it). All that this will do is release the real memory frames that FCPX was using.
make sure you DON'T have compressor.app / inspector | FRAME CONTROLS set on. This will grind the machine that you have. Just click on the grey box and turn it off. This is more to do AFTER you have submitted the transcode job... service time related and not related to FCPX nor memory.
Please post your results on this forum for others to see.

  • Everything running extremely slow, cannot send mail

My MacBook Pro (2009) is running extremely slow. I used Disk Utilities and verified and repaired permissions, only 2 found. Everything launches so very slow. Spinning beach ball is there forever. webpages take forever to load and applications take forever to start. Mail is very slow and it appears I cant send mail?????

    Hi Linc,
I am using iMac [OS X Yosemite V. 10.10.2] and using Mail app for my email account via Outlook 365 office [Exchange].
Suddenly today, when I send an email, a new folder pop-up under Outbox folder named "on my mac" and the email stays in this folder for at least 15-30 minutes before it goes, and once it's being sent, my "sent folder" doesn't update the sent emails. I have repeated many test emails and run connection doctor but nothing happened!
I did the following steps, non of them worked:
    1. Deleted the account and re-created it over 3 times.
    2. Restarted the machine.
    3. Signed out from iCloud.
    4. Moved out com.apple.mail.plist folder while creating the account again.
    5. Moved out com.apple.mailServiceAgent.plist folder.
    6. Changed the internal & external ports to 25, 465 & 587.
    7. Rebuilding.
    8. Deleted Cache.db
    9. Checked & unchecked "Automatically detect and maintain account settings".
    10. Checked & unchecked "Use SSL".
However, I run test emails on MS Outlook app and it worked perfectly, which means that the exchange service is working.
    Your help is highly appreciated.

  • Iphone4 SLOW in sending emails - various other problems

Not sure where to stick this but I'm hoping someone can help. I recently switched from a 3G to the new iphone4 and I've noticed quite a few problems. The most annoying to me I'd say is sending pictures from my camera roll to my email (or anyones email). Regardless if its on wifi or 3g its SO slow. I've even tried sending them at the lowest quality and it doesnt seem to make a difference. Is this a software problem or is there something I can do to fix this?
I've also noticed some apps freezing, game apps and even youtube when trying to upload a video. I have to turn the phone off and on again to get out of the frozen mode.
Also have had the phone completely die with a full charge and have to do a hard reset to turn it back on.
I LOVE this phone but I just wish some of these bugs would get fixed. I'm running the latest software, 4.1 I believe. Any help would be appreciated!

well... none of that happens to me. I mean, the phone gets hot somehow but I think it is something understandable after using it for a while... nothing different from my 3GS... about the battery, it is fine... I'm not a heavy user, and I lock the phone manually when finish any task but I have multitasking, push notification or fetch data activated... (Location services and bluetooth for car hands free also on) even I like my display's brightness a bit clearer.... but again nothing different from my 3GS... It can work my whole day without recharging it again... may be feel the iPhone 4 battery better... longer... you know, is new and is bigger
One thing... revisiting my settings- general- network, I realized that data roaming was off... weird because I have had it always on... so I turned on.
Second... went to settings - general- Go down to Reset, and reset NETWORK SETTINGS, confirmed it. I just had to rewrite my wifi connection and probably lost information about other wifi connection I was connected in the past but that is not a big deal for me...
I'd say that my phone is doing better now but give some time... hey I'm not an specialist... but hopefully it gives you an idea about your particular situation... anyway the Apple store people can be very helpful...

  • Slow when sending/receiving from contact

i have been text messaging one person on my phone a lot, and every time, it slows down when sending/receving to them. resets do not help it. any ideas? i went to the at&t store, and the guy deleted the contact, and we re-added them, and it worked like new. but i do not want to have to do that every time! any ideas??...

If you have a long history of SMS to that one individual, you could just search in your SMS folder for all SMS from that person, and delete all the oldest messages.

  • Slow mail sending

For the past few weeks on most occasions it has taken minutes to send even the smallest e-mail. I have contacted my ISP, who assure me that there is nothing wrong at their end and that I should contact you for advice.
    Roy Jenkinson

Try logging into another User account, program your mail settings in the Mail app in that account and test to see if it is any faster. If not, I would say it's ISP-related.
Also, if you have a Gmail account, you could set up a Gmail POP account in Mail and see if that is slow too. If not, again I would say it's ISP-related.
