Slow internet safari mountain lion

After installing the upgrade to mountain lion my internet connection using safari is very slow. Anyone with the same problem and a solution?

I was able to resolve the problem by disabling my WiFi on the iMac and just using the ethernet.
Maybe ML updated the WiFi in some way that is causing issues between the cards on the machine and the WiFi routers/access points.  I've seen this happen in business settings when firmware updates get applied to the WLAN system that cause issues with some wireless adapters.  Usually, updating the driver on the wireless adapters can fix the problem.  This may be a reverse case.
For reference, I'm using a Linksys 4200 with the current firmware version 1.0.00.  I've checked the support site and found that 1.0.04 is available.  I'll upgrade the firmware and test it out to see if that makes a difference.

web pages open slowly or not at all after mountain lion download

I'm having the same problem but only at home with a slow internet service.  At work with faster internet my macbook pro works fine.  I wonder if Mountain Lion requires some minimum internet speed?  Our old macbook pro (not using Mountain Lion) still works fine with our slow home internet.  This change happened when I installed Mountain Lion.  Also I can boot from by back up disk and bypass Mountain Lion and work with my slow internet at home. ???

  • Why is there no Passwords tab in my Safari Mountain Lion Preferences?

I need to remove a stored password from my laptop, but there is no Passwords tab in my Safari Mountain Lion Preferences window. How can I get past this roadblock?

Do you have some other software installed, like a password manager, that is removing the Passwords tab?
Take a look in Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access. Your password may be stored in there. Look in the Login Keychain, Category: Passwords. You can just select the password and delete it.
You could reinstall Safari perhaps to restore the Passwords tab. I don't think you can just download Safari by itself, though. You'd have to reinstall Mountain Lion. Alternatively there's an app called Pacifist that will let you extract the Safari installer package from the ML installer. CharlesSoft — software you always wished someone would write

How to fix slow mail in mountain lion in a easy way

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Quit and relaunch Mail, and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • My macbook pro is very slow after installing mountain lion

my macbook pro is very slow after installing mountain lion?  Is anyone else having this issue?

If you don't use an SSD and bump your RAM up to 8 Gb's you may experience slow speeds, but I noticed slow speeds with your general configuration in SL.
one thing you should consider right now is, Spotlight is Reindexing your hard drive, that takes time and resources, (resources which you don't necessarily have to spare).
If you continue feeling like your performance is slow, you have a few options with this computer (I have the same one).
the express card slot can house a wintec SSD drive. That little door on the side of your machine is pure gold for a really quick solution for speeding up your machine. I have one in mine right now i'm using as a scratch disk for CS6 but I used to boot from it, and the speed boost was out of this world.
You could take out the internal HDD and put in a new SSD (I have a Vertex 4 from OCZ) it is completely over kill but my experience is pretty fast and I keep up with the later MBP models colleagues have.
There are some other options for you like taking out the optical drive (however I don't know if I'm supposed to talk about that here). Google Data Doubler.
You need to also set it to always use the 9600 chipset, this will increase performance a lot too. to do this go to system preferences>energy saver>Better Performance. This switches the video card to the better one and makes a world of difference.
Lastly, your RAM. after an EFI Firmware update, our computer support up to 8GBs of RAM. Do it!

  • HT1338 Why is my MacBook Pro running so slow after installing Mountain Lion 10.8.

Why is my MacBook Pro running so slow after installing Mountain Lion 10.8. I have restarted, created more free space on my hard drive and run disk utilities. Simple operations result 20 seconds or more of the spinning wheel. Some are so slow that the operation does not happen at all. Itunes music cuts out during operations.

Check out this article by Thomas Reed for help http://www.reedcorner.net/understanding-upgrade-nightmares/. Also, make sure all apps are compatible with Mountain Lion using www.roaringapps.com. Do you have any antivirus installed? Make sure all apps are updated as well.

  • Safari will not connect to Internet after Mountain Lion update

    Please help!!!
I recently updated to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard and for a few days, everything seemed to work well & seamlessly!
However, on starting up my MacBookPro today, I cannot connect to the Internet.
I continually receive the error message "Safari can't connect to the server"
I have run diagnostics and my connection is fine, with a full wifi signal.
My iPad, iPhone & iPod all connect perfectly and my router has been unchanged and untouched!
I'm not the most computer-literate person in the world but would appreciate any possible help and advice!
    My MacBookPro has the following:

    Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
    Software: OS X 10.8 (12A269) Mountain Lion

When I try and open it, windows puts up a box saying that windows 7 has a problem with Safari and will not open?
Fingers crossed, your Windows 7 will have been recording some additional information about those.
First, open your Action Center and expand "Maintenance". Click "View reliability history":
Once the reliability report has been generated, look for Critical events for Safari generated at the time of the "Safari has stopped working" messages. Doubleclick the name Safari in the critical events. (Don't click View solution.) Here's a screenshot showing what to doubleclick:
You should see something that looks like the following screenshot:

  • Safari runs slow after installing mountain lion

Safari is running very slowly since I installed Mountain Lion.  Any suggestions about why this is happening or how to improve the speed?

I ordered something from a website I haven't used before, and it was very slow, but I don't know if it's that website or safari.  Safari is the only browser I use.

  • Safari 6 running extremely slow after getting Mountain Lion

So after getting OS X Mountain Lion and Safari 6, my safari has been running extremely slow. I've seen that a lot of people are having trouble with it crashing or stopping which I have not experienced. So far, I've tried: emptying the cache, disabling plug ins, turned off extensions, and reset safari. All of these have helped but it is still running pretty slow.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

If you have anti virus software installed, disable that then try Safari.
If you don't have a/v software installed, try Safari in another user account. If it's slow there, that's an indication the startup disk may need repairing.
If that is the case, that requires >  Mountain Lion Recovery

  • Safari running very slow after downloading Mountain Lion

Since downloading OS X Mountain Lion Sarfafi runs very slowly as though I have used up my data download allowance from my service provider. I have no proxies installed (not that I would know what this means) and the DNS entries are from my service provider.  Is there any way to uninstall Mountain Lion so I can have my imac back to the way it was??? I really regret downloading it. on top of that, whilst it shows I have downloaded an app (mountain lion) on the App Store icon, it doesn't come up when I click on it.

If you're using iCloud, disable all its services and test.

  • MacAir running a lot slower after downloading Mountain Lion, has any one else experienced this

Since downloading Mountain Lion, my MacbookAIr runs more like Windows, slow to download.

Someone mention the 'indexing' on another thread, which pertain to a fan issue.  But that when you update to a new OS the indexing can take hr.s  My point, perhaps that is causing the sluggishness.  And the simple answer is, downgrade Safari, if you still have problems with 6.  And wait and see if this get's mention a lot and then perhaps Apple does an update to address it.
I'm running it now with Lion, and I did not notice any speed diiference from 5.  All I see are new added or deleted features and a few shuffles of this, that and the other.  When I hear people get into the forever browser wars, about rendering/speed ect. it's in my opinion more on a person like then actual numbers.  And even the numbers can be missleading.
Look at Chrome, sure it's fast, but no one looks behind the scene.  It eats up resources as more tabs are open.  And while the downloaded file may seem lite at 23 mb, after installation it is as big as Safari.  Safari is just up front about it.  Even F.F. is over 35 mb after instalation.  And their memory leaks are as big as the grand canyon.
Hang tuff, somebody will figure something out if it's a wide spread issue.  If not there has to be something then on your machine that is causing the friction, some hiderance.  And quite possibly as simple as changing a preference.

  • No autofill or passwords in Safari and Chrome Safari Mountain Lion

After upgrading to Mountain Lion Safari and Crome even Norton Identity safe can't Autofill, use my keychain save passwords or even ask me to save a new password..In Safari I do have check Autofill tab Use name and passwords but nothing , in Chrome I went to advance setings and I have check Ask to save passwords and nothing Norton Identity safe have passwords stored but nothing ..It seems that theres a problem with the system extentions or preferences ......
    I need some H E L P !

Same problem with my MacBookPro and Mountain Lion. Passwords on the Apple site (like this support site) work fine. My brokerage account does not and they tell me it's not them, but an Apple issue. Also, serial numbers on some of my smaller aps have disappeared; at least one vendor told me it was a common Mountain Lion experience.
I like Mountain Lion but I liked autofill and solid app validation even better. This is a turd in the punchbowl. Hard to believe that a company bent on zero flaws would let this slip through.Could it be due to the sandboxing or other security measure? Is Apple becoming like the US government -- so bent on "security" that it can't fulfill its own mission?

  • Safari Mountain Lion text editing glitch

Has anyone else seen problems with the latest Safari on the latest Mountain Lion where text that is being edited causes flashing? I found a YouTube video that demonstrates the problem:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYkqXkJXod4
This is very similar to what I'm seeing on my early-2011 MBP running Mountain Lion. It's especially bad in Google Docs, but it seems to happen when editing text in lots of web apps. The creator of the video suggested turning off the Energy Saver setting "Automatic graphics switching."  He said that fixes the problem but also drains the battery a lot faster.  And I can attest to that.  Just during the time I've been typing this message, my battery has gone from 58% to 54%.  But I haven't seen any of the text editing glitch.
I never saw this in Lion, so I'm guessing it's a new bug introduced in Mountain Lion, or Safari, or in one of the video drivers used by the early-2011 MBP.  So I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this, and if Apple is already aware of it, and if anyone has a better workaround.
    Thanks,
    Todd.
ps. Battery is now at 51%.

This thread seems to be dealing in the area where I am having a problem. I can easily from Safari email the link to a page but if I choose in the mail side to have it as pdf it simply goes into mail and just sits there and keeps displaying the message loading in the mail message it opens.
If I do it from safari by going to the print menu and selecting from the PDF area of the print dialogue mail pdf it will open a mail message with the pdf showing as an attachment. Similar happens if I choose to send it as a web page. Does not seem to matter on either if I have it set to rich text or text in the mail same behaviour.
Any idea with what might be going on. thanks
