Slow iTouch after 2.0 update

Has anyone else's iTouch become slow after installing the 2.0 update? I updated mine a couple of days ago and I noticed today that using the apps on my iTouch has become annoyingly slow. iCal/Notes/Contacts/basically everything loads so much slower... For example, when I open Contacts, I can see my contacts, but I can't scroll down right away--compared to how easy that was to do before the update. My iCal also takes several long seconds before I can see the actual calendar.
Has Apple issued any solution to this problem?

too many contacts? that is BS... I dont even have 50 and it takes for ever, you know, I have always used Microsoft and for a time now I've been thinking to move all my equipment to Apple, is looks better and stronger and apparently fails a lot less, but the **** when it fails no body's got answers or solutions. They've decided to ignore some things and don't even bother to tell you why (like the copy paste issue) I dont think this is good service nor very good publicity. I agree with what most people may think -Apple is a lot better that everyone else at what they do- true enough but just being the best in a lot of mediocres does not do and certainly does not fit the image Apple seems to want to build. so Apple, at least provide an explanation (not deep buried in the site please, easy to access)

  • Some playlists will no longer sync to iTouch after most recent update

I am struggling to get 3 playlists back onto my iTouch after a recent iTunes and iTouch software update. When I look into the playlist of choice on iTouch after syncing, it says no music available can download from iTunes.
I don't understand why my playlists aren't syncing anymore.
Anyone else have trouble with this? How do I fix?

  • Why does my MacBook Air's shutting down slow down after the recent update?

After the newly update OS X Update 10.9.4, the shut down of my MacBook Air slows down. It will stay several seconds more than before the update. This happens every time I try to shut down my MacBook, please meet my problem.

A Safe Mode boot deletes some system caches that may help.
Startup your Mac in Safe Mode
A Safe Mode boot takes much longer than a normal boot so be patient.
Once you are in Safe Mode, click Restart from the Apple () menu.
Once your Mac has booted to the desktop, click Shut Down from the Apple () menu to test.

  • Extensions Load Slow (Mac) After Latest Photoshop Update

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the below:
(On Mac - Mavericks) The latest Photoshop CC 2014 update has slowed down the loading of my two extension (these are extensions I have created in HTML5). Prior to the update they loaded fine. Also, when I uninstalled one of the extensions and then reinstall it I get error code -180 (no documentation on this error code), I click ok and then open Photoshop and the extension loads (but slow) and when I quit Extension Manger and reopen it the extension shows it is loaded.
No problems with the extension in Windows 7 after the Photoshop update. The extensions load as before the update.
Also, error code -180 is a mystery. I have searched the web and can find no reference to it. Any idea where Adobe lists their error codes?
Any insights on this issue will be appreciated - Sam
PS - When one of my extension pallets displays a blank window, I click in the pallet and the extension loads. Strange!

Please post your problem to Photoshop General Discussion so that it can reach more people and get better support.

  • Slow itouch after latest update: click on app, tries to delete.

After update 4.3.2 last week, itouch is extremely slow, unresponsive.  When I click on an app, all the apps wiggle with the black X like to delete an app.  I want to restore it, but I am afraid of losing all my apps.

    - If all the apps are in your iTunes library then no since they will sync back to the iPod as part of the restore from backup.
    - I would get all the app in your iTunes library, then backup your iPod and then restore the iPod from backup.
    - If problem persists then you need to restore to factory defaults/new iPod since you may have corruption that is now in your backup.

  • Airport slows down after the latest update !

I have a ibook running the latest version of the masOs . After doing a automatic software update ( if I recollect it did a MacOs and Airport update - the computer has slowed down and access the wireless networks with great difficulty ! How do we resolve this problem or go back to the earlier version ?

What kind of difficulty accessing wireless networks?
    I've experienced no such problems.
Did you quit all running applications before installing the 10.4.6 update? I always quit all running applications before installing any OS, Software or Security updates.
Before installing a major OS Update such as 10.4.6, I always check my hard drive for any directory problems with Disk First Aid repair via Disk Utility when booted from my Tiger install disc.
As a first step, I suggest Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption for system troubleshooting procedures and when doing so, follow all steps/instructions in the order provided.
To revert to an earlier 10.4 x version such as 10.4.5 will require re-installing 10.4 via your 10.4 install package (archive & install selecting preserve user and network settings) and then update to the chosen version only.

  • Slow mac after latest security update!!!

So I updated my macbook pro running 10.5.5 to the latest security update and now everything has slowed down! Now I get a beach ball for 5-10 seconds every time I try to open a program, go to a web page, save a file, etc. Is anybody else having this problem???

    Hi nerowolfe,
Yes, rest assured you are not alone in your post-update slowdown problems.
I ran back to the steely, solid prowess of Tiger after Leopard indicated it preferred to just sit in the tree sleeping and occasionally falling out. We'll put Leopard down to experience. (The lesson being, if you're embarking on a project, let your developers do the job. Don't re-deploy or scatter your developers mid-way onto more commercial gadgets).
It's a shame but there's now a definite trepidation that comes with OS X software updates. The very rate at which we're being force fed them speaks for itself. Most of the time, I find that they introduce so many other issues that increments in numbers means heartache, searching for fixes, restoration and forgetting the experience. Until the next update, which is the next lap of this downward spiralling track we seem to be on. Do you remember when you could concentrate on your tasks, and not the operating system? (It's becoming difficult).
As for practical solutions nerowolfe, up to now, repairing HD permissions using the OS X inbuilt features or using Onyx has usually done the trick. But neither seem to make a blind bit of difference in the wake of this latest update.
Does anyone else have any practical solutions?
Does anyone know if it's possible to bypass updates or remove installed updates?

  • IPhone 4 slower/laggy after OS 5 update.

I've had this phone for a little over a month. I updated it to OS 5 the day it released. Didn't have many issues with it but I've started to notice that the phone is slower than it was before the update. Apps don't open as fast, unlocking my phone to Music takes up to 5 seconds to update the song title/time so it is current. In general the phone seems to be slower. Any remedies? Maybe a factory reset and reinstall?

I too have experienced similar issues - slow keyboard response, high CPU (> 90%) consumption, very poor battery life, Message/Settings would take 7 - 10 secs to open, some apps take too long to open, some crash etc., etc,.....
As suggested by several forum users, I tried several combinations of turning OFF several SHOW PIECE features ... finally narrowed it down to CALENDAR Notification ... turn it off in ...
Settings > Notification > In Notification Center (scroll down to) > Calendar > Notification Center [OFF].
Turning this off defeats the purpose ... 2 steps forward (with iOS 5) and 4 steps backwards (Calendar alerts/notification is very important). With Calendar Notification ON, the CPU usage is over 90% ... the moment it is turned OFF, it returns to less than 10%. After this finding, I turn ON Notification during my work time and OFF while not.
Well, this is my experience ... it may or may not fix for others though!
I use the app System Status to monitor the vital statistics of iPhone/iPad. Once you install System Status, you might also want to have a look at the the System Log. Open System Status > Details > System Log. Its got a wealth of information for technically inclined users. I found a line that said something like ... "Caldav notification trying to open <something> .... Tried 20 times unsuccessfully ... error ... etc,. The same thing will repeat every minute or less ... so I decided to turn Calendar Notification off.
    Cheers

  • Error message when connecting iTouch (after Windows 7 update)

    Please help!
I first had a Windows 7 (998 error) and uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes a couple times until I got it up and running along with QuickTime working as well.
When I go to try and sync my iTouch it is saying "This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes." I have actually done this twice and it is still not working.
Please help!! I would really like to use my iPod again.
    Thank you,
    Aimee

This solution allowed the itouch to communicate with itunes and then instantly recognised that it needed to be updated to software version 4.1. All's good so thanks for this

  • Compressor slow down after DVDSP/quicktime update

I am producing DVDs every week between 1 to 1.5 hours long. Usually takes compressor from 2 to 4 hours to render.
After upgrading to DVDSP 4.1.2 and Quicktime 7.1.5 it has been 4 hours and the redering is just over half done.
Activity monitor is showing 98.70, using about 1/2 of both processors.
Anyone else having a slow down using compressor?
Power Mac Dual 1.4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   2GB Ram, SATA RAID drives

I am having the same issue. My G5 Quad would rev the fans going no matter what i was encoding. QT to WMV, QT to iPod, Compressor encoding SD or HD or QT file. Compressor used to fly for me. This wasn't the case on my G5 dual 2 but I thought it was because I didn't have as much RAM. Now I upgraded to the UB version of FCP and it's as slow as molasses in wintertime.

  • Slow cpu after new SEcurity UPdate

i installed the newest security update on friday and ever since then my mini has been giving me heck. spinning beachballs abound. almost every app has a distinguished pause before loading. safari is definitely slower at handling incoming images, text, whatever. oh yeah the biggest pauses seem to occur when a program attempts to access a folder on my hard drive.
    anybody else experiencing these problems?
any possible fixes? (please do not say repair disks)
any way of taking away this security update? -truthfully i would rather have a well functioning computer than be "secure"-

I am also seeing this, with initial onset of symptoms correlating with installing the latest security update. Boot goes quickly until it gets to "Login window starting", whereupon it stays there for over 2 minutes. It takes 30 seconds to open a finder on the drive and another 30 seconds for that window to display its contents. Switching focus between applications and pulling down menus takes seconds, though the application processing itself appears zippy.
iostat reports the cpu remaining about 98% idle and little disk activity.
This suggests to me that there is some problem in either the window manager or its communication with applications.

  • Iphoto began running slow right after the last update. I'm working with raw files. when I have an open moving from photo to photo some times it slows way down, Never did prior to last update. Thanks

iphoto is running slow at times. This never happened until I installed the the last update. The program gets slow when I have an event open moving with the arrows back and forth.  It doesn't make a difference in full screen or smaller

Try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import a number of raw image files and test to see if the same problem persists.

  • Scrolling Down in Movie List Slow - before & after 2.0 update

I have an issue where scrolling down in a movie list is slow, yet going up is fine.
Pressing down takes as much as 10 seconds before it will move to the next movie. Sometimes I only have 3 or 4 movies, and still the same issue.
Doesn't seem to affect other lists, and if you hit the remote twice, it will go down twice, but with the 10 second pause in-between. It almost seems like it is waiting for the thumbnail view of the movie, and once that appears, it seems to behave.
Have 10+ gigs free, have hard reset and downloaded all new updates again. I have Gigabit hardwire throughout (even though this only connects at 100Mbps), so I do not think it is a LAN issue.
This is happening with 1.1 and 2.0.
Most movies are 720P AVI or MKV files that I run through VisualHub 1.30, using AppleTV settings, Go Nuts, and x.264 - sorry I can't be more specific in this area.
I am thinking something is either wrong with one or all of the videos, or the TV itself.
I searched, and could not find anything quite like this (actually one thread that had no answer). So I am stumped...

I had the same problem with music videos that I download then converted myself. The wait on the way down is caused by your aTV taking time togenerate a thumbnail to display for your movie. For reasons unknon to me, some movies are harder to generatethumbnails for than others. It even happens when I open itunes and highlight a video, and wait for the thumbnail to appear in the lower left corner....some take much longer than others.
A fix I've figured out is to simply add your own artwork to all of your movies. You can make an image yourself, or just download any picture (relatively small) from the internet, and change the artwork for every movie to one picture (or you can put a different one for each movie...just google pic search a picture for your movie and drag it into the artwork window).
If you do this for all of your movies, scrolling will be very simple...

  • Slow advance after 6.5 update

After updating to 10.10 and Keynote 6.5 my Keynote response time has dropped from instantaneous to anywhere between 5-10 seconds of lag time before either starting the slideshow or advancing the slide.
This isn't transition-timing related as certified by the duration of the transition when it does happen and that starting or Escaping out of the show also take 5-10 seconds. As a test I advanced a slide, waited 10 seconds before pressing the space bar and it still took 5-10 seconds to advance to the next slide.
I tossed out the Keynote prefs files and restarted but this did not fix the problem.

    These delays happen when:
1- a series of objects are on the slide with an attached effect
2 - a delay is set in the effect properties

  • Slow Restarts after Repairs or Updates?

    Hi ,
New iMac ,all is reasonably well.
When I update or do a disk repair, the restarts are very slow ...about 3 minutes with the display staying on the blue screen for a long time .
I have read about the "enhancer bundles" but I don't think I have those(not a 100%) ...also there has been a suggestion that Norton might be an issue.
    Thoughts

The RAM should be sufficient and was originally. All I can suggest is to review these:
