Slow/Jerky Video with kt6v\sempron 2400\geforce mx400

Hello!
I'm hoping someone out there has seen this problem before and can point me in the right direction for how to solve it.  I am putting this system together for my sister.  Here are the system's credentials:
msi kt6v mainboard
amd sempron 2400 processor
256 meg ddr ram, 400mhz
nvidia gforce mx400 agp display adaptor  64meg
western digital caviar 20 gig hard drive
generic (comp usa) 52x ide cdrom drive
lucent pci lt win modem
windows xp pro  with service pack 2
Mainboard bios has recently been upgraded to  recognize the sempron cpu.
Cpu freqency in cmos is set to 166mhz.  (is this the correct setting?)
The problem:
When playing various video games, such as Carnival Cruise Lines Tycoon, Trailer Park Tycoon, or The Sims (all of which are great games, btw), the video is extremely choppy/jerky.  It doesn't play smoothly at all.  But it SHOULD!   As a test, if I replace that video card with an  FX5200 personal cinema, it works great!  (but there's no way I'm going to give my sister that fx5200 card!  I need the mx400 to work in this machine.)   I can put that gforce mx400 in another machine (kt4v with amd 2200xp) and it works great.  So this tells me the problem should not be with the display adaptor nor the kt6v mainboard.  But is there a compatability problem between the two?  Is there a setting I've overlooked?  I'm thinking this is probably an issue with the display drivers or the mainboard drivers, I just don't know.  I've spent the last 3 nights trying to figure this one out.  This has me stumped.
Anyone else seen this same problem and know the fix?  Also, anybody know what the recommended cmos settings are on the kt6v  when using the mx 400 display adaptor and the sempron 2400 cpu?  What are the recommended drivers/versions for this mainboard and display adaptor?
Thanks!!!!!

No
the GF2 came in mx200, mx and mx400.
The GF4 came in mx420, mx440 and mx460

  • Jerky video with N70

    Hi,
Just wanted to ask if I'm the only person that is encountering this problem.
Whenever I try capturing a video... The video is jerky but after saving it... It plays fine when I view it.
My friend has the same unit as well as the firmware 5.0616.2.0.3
    24-04-06
    RM-84
yet when I tried to use his phone it captured fine unlike mine.

    Current phones: N70 5.616.2.0.3, Motorola SLVR L7, Motorola V3Maxx

    Hello,
I too have this problem with jerky video but mine seems much worse. I tried to switch to the phone memory instead of the card but that just makes things much worse! I have transfered my videos to a computer and it is not just playback on the phone that's jerky so it must be during recording that there's a serious bugg.
I contacted Nokia support about this and asked is there was a update coming but they just replied that I should hand it in to a service place, so I did. After two weeks without my (only) phone, I got it back and all they had done was format and reinstall the same software version. Hurray for Nokia! I remember the tv-ads they ran, depicting the N70 as a kickass video recording phone. Ok ok that's enought complaining... Does anyone have any suggestions? Nokia sure doesn't have a clue.

  • KT4AV-L PROBLEMS !! with AMD Sempron 2400

Dearest friends, I've got a nasty problem with the brand new MSI KT4AV-L + SEMPRON 2400 just bought from my dealer.
The FSB clock can be set ONLY to 100MHz or the CMOS BIOS will NOT EVEN START !!!
When I put 133MHz or 166MHz (the correct one) into BIOS FSB settings ... the system won't boot, WON'T BOOT NOT EVEN the CMOS BIOS AMI (latest release available = 5.4 ) will boot.
This is VERY BAD AND VERY NASTY problem because the board is listed in the AMD recommended boards list and should have 0 problems while running the Sempron to its 1600MHz ... instead of the ACTUAL 1.000MHz I HAVE NOW !!!! and this turtle speed its making the whole system disappointing.
Anybody can help with this ?
What am I doing wrong ?
    Many thanks
    Seguace

oh my gosh! I can't believe! you have to be a kind of magician, your PSU it's the weakest that I ever seen!    5a it's extremely low! I don´t how did it works now, even at the lower speed, please try another PSU ASAP! at least 400 watts,   and on the 12v rail at least 18a (at least, I mean minimal).

  • IMovie (v4) jerky video with 10.5 was fine with the original 10.3

I can't download any usable video from my video camera to my computer now that I have OS 10.5. It used to work when I had 10.3 as my O.S. How do I get my system running better because it seems like it is a problem with processor speed, or should my system be able to run 10.5 and iMovie?
    Some help from Apple appreciated.

In generic terms, call it a lack (or loss) of system resources.
I haven't done a head to head comparison, but 10.5 likely uses more processor (and ram) than 10.3.
Any LT has a slow HD (5400rpm) compared to a desktop HD (7200rpm)
Video is drive and ram intensive, especially if you are trying to use imovie HD.
I found 1080 HD video on my dual 1.42 could, and often was, jerky, even if nothing else was running. 720 was its limit, even them, couldn't be too long, or the jerkiness returned.
    Some things to check:
How much free drive space do you have?
On my G4, I had to keep at least 20% free, or the machine became very slow.
Run the maintenance crons, either manually, or using macjanitor, cocktail, or similar.
Check activity monitor for free/used ram, processes running that you may not need, etc. For example, my kodak software installed a "wireless listener" but I don't use that feature.
Did you clean install 10.5, or upgrade in place?
If you upgraded, check your software for updates. Some software, more than likely, share/freeware, may be unhappy with 10.5, and causing speed issues.
I've seen this on a couple of machines.
Parts of the old Norton AV package will also cause speed (or crash) issues (filesaver, for example), and may not have been removed by the Symantec AV installer.

  • Jerky videos with 30 fps not ideal for Europe with 25 fps?

When I edit a video (720p 30fps) from my compact camera, Sony WX1, on the iMovie, the rendered video seems to be jerky. (especially if I follow a subject with the camera)
When I edit a video (1080i 50fps) from my Sony Video camera, the edited video looks fine.
Is this effect due to the fact that my video is rendered with 25 fps for European TV.
Does anybody have a solution to my problem?
Should I rather buy a compact camera that records with 25 or 50 fps instead of 30 fps?
    Any support is appreciated.

I'm seeing similar problems as you when using my wife's digital stills camera (Canon IXUS 80IS). This records AVI video (640 x 480) at 30 fps. As I'm also in PAL country, I normally use the PAL 25fps setting for my iMovie '11 projects, which are mostly imported from my Sony HDR-SR7 AVCHD camcorder (PAL).
However, to avoid the jerkiness when creating projects from the Canon footage, I now use the NTSC 30fps setting for clips from that camera. The exported project plays flawlessly on my MacBook Pro and also through my Western Digital TV Live HD Media Player connected to an LCD HD TV. When burning a DVD in iDVD you can choose to encode as PAL 25fps or NTSC 30fps. However I've found that the NTSC version doesn't always work with some DVD player/TV connections. So you will still see jerkiness if burning PAL versions, but these DVDs will at least work with all PAL equipment.
If you don't intend burning DVDs but simply wish to view by other means (for example, computer, media player or web) it's quite OK to use the NTSC 30fps setting for your projects. These will play fine on sites such as YouTube, Facebook, MobileMe Gallery and similar places.

  • Jerky video with Firewire from DV camcorder

Help please. I have a 1.25 GHz G4 iMac running 10.3.9 and iChat 2.1.3 (v154). I used to have smooth video using my Firewire DV camcorder. Somewhere along the way (most likely a software change on the Mac, less likely a change in the camcorder’s setttings), the video that others see of me has become unusably jerky. My son, who has a 10.5 machine, can’t even see a video window; it apparently won’t open with my signal. My friend who has 10.4.X can open a video window but says it’s worthless. I’ve confirmed that my upload speed on my cable modem is 1350–1450 kbps. Any ideas?

Tony (in the UK): “You da man!” Thank you very much. That solved the problem. Originally, QuickTime>Streaming was set to “Automatic” and iChat>Pref>Video>Bandwidth limit was “None”. I set Quicktime connection speed to “1 Mbps Cable” (because my upload speed is 1.35–1.45 Mbps) and set iChat Bandwidth limit to 500 kbps.

  • Unable to capture video with MSI StarForce 822 GeForce 3!

I have a MSI StarForce 822 GeForce3 graphics card with 64 MB DDR SDRAM on it. I have VGA Out, as well as TV-out (AV), TV-out (S-video), and TV-in(?) (S-video).
This brings me to two questions:
First, I have NEVER been able to figure out how to use the TV-in (S-video) port. I have tried numerous programs designed to capture video, including the one that came with the graphics card, and none of them recognize the card's TV-in. Do you have any recommendations as to how to use this port to capture video?
Second, in reading through the online manual for the graphics card on the company's website (under the name G3 Pro-VT64D MS-8822), I saw that the card supposedly has the capability of "High-quality HDTV/DVD playback" (8822 v2.0.pdf, page 8 ). However, in playing back DVD's through the card's s-video output onto my HDTV-ready monitor, I definately do not see HD quality videos. Could explain why this is the case?
I have an assignment coming up where I must do some video-editing work, and thus I am posed with a situation where I need to capture video using this card (and I can't afford to buy something new for the moment).
    Thanks for your help.
    Charles Bergmeier

If you have the Video Capture Driver installed then the video capture program should see it. On MSI site version 1.16 of the driver is available for download.
If you still have problems (e.g. too many frames lost) you can try using Virtual VCR (worked best in my case).

  • Jerky video with FCP5 on Quad

I'm disapointed with the viewer and canvas performance on with FCP5 on the quad: Mu DV footage is very jerky with displayed in the viewer or canvas on the Quad. Does anyone have the same experience? Could it be, that FCP5 is upgrade tyet to perform on trhe Qaud?

All's well with FCP 5.0.3 on my brand new Quad,
running under v10.4.2 with a Seagate 400GB SATA
(150MB/sec type SATA) for the media volume.
How much RAM do you have in the Quad?
Do you have an external NTSC/PAL monitor connected to
the output of your camcorder or VCR? How do things
    look there?
    Hi Brian,
Good to hear that's all is well. That means it is'nt an inherent Quad/FCP problem. I have 2.5 gigs of RAM. I have a PAL monitor connected, that shows the same jerkiness. See also my reply to David.

  • Slow mo video from iPhone 6 plus is not playing on Apple TV?

I made a slow motion video with my iPhone 6 Plus. But it doesn't play on Apple TV. Air dropped the video to my wifes iPhone 5S and he played it well on Apple TV. What can that be?

FWIW slo-mo video plays for me.

  • Jerky Video for isolated user

    Hello,
I recently launched a Flash website that has video tutorials
synchronized with Flash animations. Overall the site is functioning
well, but I have an isolated instance of user having very jerky
video with the audio occasionally cutting out.
His connection speed is fine (3572.7 Kbps). When I asked him
for details he said the video was jerky from the start, and 'the
video cycled from smooth to jerky once every half to a whole
second.' He is using Flash player WIN 9.0.28.0, on win XP with all
updates. When asked he did not provide the browser version.
Here is a link to the site:
    http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Investing/StockInvestingTrading/Technical_Analysis.as px
It's set up using net connection and net stream for flvs
hosted on a media server. The flvs have cuepoints to trigger the
animations. When a given flv is finished downloading the next flv
in the list is then preloaded. The buffer time is set to 6 seconds.
I haven't been able to recreate the problem. The feedback
that we've gotten suggests that the site runs fine. If anyone has
trouble viewing this please let me know and please provide details.
Thanks in advance for any help!

avi is a very antique media-wrapper.. no idea, if any Windows system is able to playback h264.avi ..
    Plan A)
choose an older codec, such as h263, mpeg4, ...
    Plan B)
choose a younger wrapper: h264.mp4 is THE universal combo on my behalf .....
    Plan C)
use a proprietary codec, wmv, you have to purchase a license from Microsoft/flip4mac to create such on a MacOS system...

  • Itunes 7.0.1 still has major problems with jerky video

I thought the newest update to Itunes 7 would fix my problems with jerky video that have begun since this Itunes 7 came out. At first I thought maybe my computer was too old (powerbook 12" 1.5 Ghz, with maxed out RAM) to play the new resolution, but then I realized that even my old TV shows had jerky playback. It doesn't seem to matter what size. The audio works fine, but the video freezes every few seconds. This is not really acceptable and I'm thinking about uninstalling Itunes 7 until apple issues a fix that address this video playback issue. Anyone have any suggestions or heard anything? Thanks!
    - Tpetdoctor

I located the problem of the jerky (1 to 2 frames per second) video that started after updating to iTunes7 and 7.0.1!
Dragging (copying) the file "ATIRadeon9700GLDriver.bundle" from system/library/extensions/ to the desktop and deleting it from the extensions folder (or else simply deleting it and then dragging it from the trash to the desktop) returns normal smooth video to non-H.264 mpeg video on my second generation iMac (ATI Radeon 9600). Unfortunately, this also makes Coverflow stop working with the message "iTunes is unable to browse album covers on this computer". I'm not sure what else will be disabled by moving this file.
Obviously, this is not a solution, or even a feasible workaround. Where can I get a "good" ATI driver? I went to the ATI site "https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&fold erID=27" and tried installing "macosx-ati-displays-4-5-7.dmg", but to no avail.

Contact Apple Service, iMac Service or Apple's Express Lane. Do note that if you have AppleCare's protection plan and you're within 50 miles (80 KM) of an Apple repair station, you're eligible for onsite repair since yours is a desktop machine. Might also apply to new machines w/o AppleCare.

  • Play slow motion videos recorded with an iPhone on a Mac

    Hi!
I have the following problem. Yesterday I was recording some videos with my iPhone, some of that videos were recorded on slow motion (120 and 240 fps). Today I download that videos to my Mac but I have a problem. When I play the videos with VLC I see it normally, not in slow motion. So, how can I see it in slow motion? Doing some tests I saw that the video it's always follow for an .AAE file. Is there any way to have this two files in one?

  • High definition video with Geforce FX 5200 ?

    hey guys,
can some body tell me if my MSI Geforce FX 5200 T128 is capable of high definition video e.g stretching small video window to full screen, in this mode you see bad video quality is there any solution ?

this is not a vga issue. if u get a video with 720x480 resolution and strength it, surely it will lose quality. for maximum resolution of windows, check the monitor and vga card´s manual for specifications.
