Slow load/ jerky playing of music through i-Tunes.

Double clicking on i-Tunes on my desktop used to get it loaded pretty fast, now it takes up to a minute. Very strange. Then, when I play songs the music sounds jumpy, wierdly enough only at the start of the song. On Task Manager it seems as tho i-Tunes is occasionally surging, pushing the CPU use up to 100%, even if no other applications are running. If I do call up another program the music jerks all over the place until its open. Have tried the Quicktime fix that is on this site, but makes no difference. I think it's an t-Tunes problem but not sure. Any ideas? I haven't loaded tonnes of new stuff onto i-Tunes, but it's acting as though it's creaking under the pressure! Music plays on iPod fine still.

Temporarily disable your anti-virus and see if that behavior stops. If it does, then configure the antivirus program to not scan the directory where the iTunes Library.itl file is stored.

Open Audio Midi Setup in Applications>Utilities, see the input & output options & KHz setting there.

  • Playing iPhone3g Music through SONY MEX BT5000

    Here's some food for thought...
I have fitted the above bluetooth (BT) radio to my car. It pairs perfectly with my iPhone3g and I can receive and make calls truely handsfree thru the radio and the car speakers (as this model has a built in phone book and microphone).
It has two channels through BT. One for a "Handsfree Device" (ie a phone) and another called an "Audio Device".
This "Audio Device" source is used for streaming your music/podcast from a phone with AD2P BT. This works perfectly using any other phone but as the iphone3g does not have this standard of BT I never thought to try...
...However, the other evening, I had a voicemail message left on my iPhone. Didn't notice until in the car and absent mindedly pressed the play button. Expecting it to come through the iPhones telephone hands (like a normal telephone upto your ear) I pressed the soft "Speaker" icon on the iphone, and expected it to use the iPhone's speaker to listen to the voicemail.
Amazingly though, it started to come through the same previously mentioned Audio Device channel reserved for AD2P on my SONY. I thought it couldn't do that?
I still haven't tried to stream music, but the evidence so far, points to the fact that...if the option to tranfer the sound to a bluetooth device appears it can stream to an appropriate device akin to the voicemail.
So why do think a) it did this using my reserved AD2P Audio Device channel and b)Why cannot Apple put an equivalent soft "speaker" icon on the screen to send the audio from my songs on the iPhone as well.
It proves that the phone is more than capable don't you think...?

I think what you describe is the norm. Telephone related sound can go to the bluetooth device, and that includes voice mail.
Music will not play via bluetooth (and as far as I know, it would only be single channel (mono) if it did. Music via bluetooth is a common wishlist item, but I don't think you can get that from Apple.

  • How can I play itunes music through one of the usb ports on my new MacBook Air?

    Greetings Everyone.
I just purchased my first Mac product I want to be able to play music from the itunes app from one of my usb ports to the usb port on the front panel of my Yamaha CD changer. I want to utilize the buit-in DAC of the Yamaha. A friend was able to run his Ipad through it but I can't see a way to run my MacBook Air through it. When I go to System Preferences -> Hardware -> Sound the only item listed for Output is "Internal Speakers".
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Reset the SMC and PRAM
    SMC Reset:
    Shut down the MacBook Pro.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    PRAM:
    Shut down the MacBook Pro.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Slower loading times after putting music on N82

I just recently added around 4 GB of music onto my N82, which has a 8 GB memory card. After adding it onto there, I noticed that everything I did on the phone, just got a whole lot slower.
Opening the gallery, messages, even playing music itself slowed down completely.
Is there anyway to avoid this?

Also another thing to keep in mind if you have v10 or v11 firmware then update it to the latest version. As it fixes memory card slowness problem.

  • Playing music through Air Tunes using Windows Media Player

    Hello to all.
I am planning on buying the Air Port Express so I can play music wirelessly from my Dell. The only problem I have with is that I can't use the keyboard media buttons (play/pause, stop, next, previous) with iTunes. These buttons work with Windows Media Player, so I was hoping that I could use WMP instead of iTunes. Can this work? Or, is there a way to make the buttons work with iTunes?
    Thanks a ton.

Don't know about doing this in windows, but on a Mac you can re-map the keys for those commands to different keys on the keyboard. Or perhaps it would be better to say that you can map ADDITIONAL keys to those commands. There should be something to allow you to do the same thing in Windows.
    Good luck!

  • Is there any way to keep the music playing through the headphones connected through the headphone jack, while also playing the music through a bluetooth device, such as speakers - so the audio is coming out of both devices simultaneously?

When I connect my bluetooth speakers, the sound stops coming out of the headphones (connected via the hardwire jack), and then comes back when I turn off the bluetooth speakers. I would like to have audio coming out of both...
    Anyone?

Thanks Kiwi. It doesn't make sense to me though, as that would seem to be only a simple change in the operating system, not a hardware 'necessity'.

  • My ipod speaker is sounding like there is something inside of it vibrating when i play any music through it. what do i do

the other day i droped my ipod in the snow and now the speakers sound like there is water inside of it. I don't know what to do and i would really like this to be fixed. i have no idea how much it will cost to get it fixed!

Place the iPod in a sealed container with uncooked rice for a but a week and periodically change the rice. The will remove the water/moisture.
    If still problem
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

  • My 5800 only plays my music through one headphone,...

They are brand new headphones but it did this with the ones that came with the phone, i put them in my mums (same version) And it worked perfectly.

The headphone connector on your phone has a loose contact.  You need to take your phone into a nokia care point for warranty repair.

  • Play music through computer with out itues

i just got my finance a 1gig nano for her birthday and we loaded songs on the ipod at home. now she wants to play her music at work through her work computer. she is not allowed to load software on her computer at work, so she cant load itues on it. is there anyway to play the music through the computer without using itunes?
    thanks in advance.

I'm afraid not, you need iTunes to access the iPod so you can play it through the computer. If there is no iTunes installed the iPod will only charger from the USB port though you could play it through earphones while it's charging.

  • What do i have to do to get my phone to play music through my car when i plug it in, what do i have to do to get my phone to play music through my car when i plug it in

hpw do i get my phone to play my music through my car when i plug it in?

When you plug it into the aux port?
Go to the Music app, select what you want and hit play. The stereo should be set to aux. If you have bluetooth in your car, you may need to press the icon on the phone to select the output. Audio out goes to the last connected device. If your bluetooth doesn't connect until after you plug into the aux port, it will try to stream via bluetooth if your system supports A2DP.

  • Do I need my PC turned on when playing music through AppleTV?

I got all the settings and can see my music library on my new Apple TV. However, when My PC is turned off the library music disappears. Is this normal? Does this new apple TV have a hard drive storage inside?

The ATV 1 has an internal hard drive to store your audio and video files locally on the unit. The ATV 2 has no such storage capabilities. So you cannot store music, movies or photos on it as you could on the ATV 1.
What would be really nice is if the ATV 2 allowed for an external drive so if you wanted to store files locally, you could. I like being able to play my music through the ATV without turning on any computers. It will be a sad day when the ATV 1 I have finally dies.
