Slow mac and system break down

hi there
My MacBookPro (2010) started to run slowly. The recent couple of weeks it started to break down too. Last time, just a minute ago. Can anyone make anything out of this crash report, cause I really cannot read programming at all.
Any help, really appreciated. Thanks there!

You have the MacBookPro6,2, the Edsel of Macs. You might be able to resolve the problem by reinstalling OS X. Try that first, if you haven't done so already. Otherwise, you may be covered by this program:
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010): Intermittent black screen or loss of video
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested. The routine hardware diagnostics used by service providers may not detect the fault. There is a specific test for this issue.
Print the first page of the panic report and bring it with you.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.
You may be able to stop the panics by disabling automatic graphics switching in the Energy Saver preference pane, but that's not a solution.

From the Premiere Elements Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1042180
•What version of Premiere Elements? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Elements 9 with the 9.0.1 update).
•What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".
•Have you installed any recent program or OS updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
•What kind(s) of image file(s)? When talking about camera raw files, include the model of camera.
•If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
•What were you doing when the problem occurred?
•What other software are you running?
•Tell us about your computer hardware. How much RAM is installed?  How much free space is on your system (C:) drive?
•Has this ever worked before?  If so, do you recall any changes you made to Premiere Elements, such as adding Plug-ins, brushes, etc.?  Did you make any changes to your system, such as updating hardware, printers or drivers; or installing/uninstalling any programs?
    And some other questions...
•What are you editing, and does your video have a red line over it BEFORE you do any work?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
First, open  > About this Mac, and check Version. If it is:
    - 10.7 or 10.8: You have FaceTime on the Dock, so open FaceTime.
    - 10.6: First, open  > Software Update and install the most recent version. Then, open App Store and purchase FaceTime.
    - Older Mac OS X versions: Check if your Mac is compatible with Snow Leopard > http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575 Then, purchase Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

  • Premiere Pro CS4 crashes and system shuts down while rendering

    Hi All,
Good morning everyone, my system shuts down while rendering using Adobe media encoder from premiere pro. I have tried the following:
    1.Completely removing CS4 and reinstalling.
    2. Updating all the video drivers.
    3. Re installing the Operating System (XP and Vista)
But the issue persists, i have attached the crash report and any thoughts are highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Vincent

A number of problems pop out of your DXDIAG:
Both your video driver and your audio driver are more than 3 years old.
Your F drive is slow, because of the fill rate of 90%. You lack other hard disks.
You have Matrox, BlackMagic, Nero, Sony, DivX and other stuff installed. It has been a long time ago that I have seen such a long list of DirectShow filters installed.
Suggestions: Update your drivers, clean up your F drive and add another disk, remove all that Matrox stuff, possibly include BlackMagic and Sony.
What export/encoding settings do you use from what sequence settings?

  • How do I unstick .mac and system preferences for sync?

I've been running 10.4.11 on my powerbook g4 with 3g iphone to sync. That works fine. Today I cannot get system preferences to sync with my .mac (mobile me) account to sync calendars and addresses with my desktop imac which is running 10.5.8. The system preferences seems stuck in the laptop, and I have to force quit to get anything to work. I just had the laptop looked at by mac technician before a trip and everything was ok hardware wise and they checked out other things briefly. The only recent software update was iTunes.

    Alice:
First go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in left column and First Aid in main column.
Click Repair Disk Permissions at bottom left.
If that does not help try Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it says anything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need to use a utility like Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior

  • Serial Number in About This Mac and System Profiler says "System Serial#"

I recently had my hard drive and motherboard replaced under warranty.
I wanted to check the expiration of my warranty so I could buy AppleCare before my year is up. I went first to About This Mac, and then to System Profiler - both of them say my Serial Number is "System Serial#" - any ideas on how to get my real serial number displayed?

How strange! I'm not sure if this will show anything different, but you can also try to get the serial number via Terminal. Just open the Terminal application and copy in this command:
    ioreg -l | grep IOPlatformSerialNumber

    HI Agnes,
Did you just delete it from the Dock?
If so look in the Applications folder.
If you deleted the real Mail.App...
    Get Pacifist...
    http://www.charlessoft.com/
then extract/install what you need from your Install Disc.
Or re-apply the big 10.4.11 Combo update...

  • U410 display and system shut down way too fast when inactive

    Hey guys,
the display of my u410 shuts down when I am afk for more more or less one minute and shortly after the system goes into energy saving mode (don't know how to say that in English, its the same thing that happens, when I close the lid).
Due to my energy management settings this shouldn't happen  for at least 5 minutes after last action in battery mode and not at all in plugged-in mode and it still does.
When watching a film it doesn't happen but sometimes while watching a youtube video on full screen, and all the time when not on full screen.
It also happens when I'm downloading stuff and clearly don't want to sit in front of the laptop for over an hour moving the mouse every now and then just to make sure it doesn't turn itself off, because then the download gets interrupted.
Would be awesome if somebody could give me a quick hint how to fix this!!!

Okay I worked on this today and since no response I guess it is not possible without setting up an entire network. I did hook up a hard drive to the USB port on the Airport and it is working without a hitch. I guess I can use this to move files back and forth when needed. Would have been better to have it how I did with the Netgear but I guess this is the next best.

  • Just did a Mac update yesterday for Yosemite and I can not open a picture in elements with out it crashing.  Spent over 4 hours with Mac and it came down to an Adobe Issue with the New Photo which is replacing the I photo. Elements does not recognize it,

Does anyone know a direct number for adobe that will not cost you to just ask about their program which will not work with a new mac update!

You can do that in iPhoto, too. Just go to the iphoto prefs>advanced, and set PSE as your external editor. Note that the actual editor is not the file at the top level of Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements < version number >, but rather hidden away inside the Support Files folder:
Then you just right the click the photo in iphoto and choose edit with external editor.
If you have the new Photos app, you can't drag and drop, either.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 causes black screen and system shut down.

Every time I start PS CC 2014 my machine dies within 2 minutes. I am not having issues with Lightroom or Bridge.
I've spent hours on phone w/Dell tech support. They say my machine is fine and that the problem is with photoshop.
Drivers and installs are all up to date. Any help would be appreciated.

    I'm running on a Dell 8500 w/ a 2 TB hard drive.
I've run DM Log Collector and have a zip file with the results, but I don't see how to attach it to my post.

  • System break down after installing new version

Today I connected my ipod touch (3rd g) to my computer. iTunes told me, that there is a new version (ios 5) and i want to install it. During the installation my computer suddenly did not recognize the ipod an it could not be installed. Now on my ipod i see an icon, that i should connect my ipod with itunes. When I do this, Itunes tells me, that my Ipod has to be restored. I try to do this and it alle happens again, my computer do not see the Ipod. What can i do?
    And sorry for my English

  • Hi. Since updating to iOS 6, my iPhone 4S can't connect to Wi-Fi and completely breaks down my broadband connection so I can't even use Internet on all my connected devices, including my computer which had an Ethernet. Help?

I'm getting incredibly frustrated at Apple because of this, it's causing problems as the Wi-Fi connection will occasionally reconnect and then skip out for whole days when I need it the most. I've researched fixes across the Discussions board and have tried everything from resetting and rebooting my router, resetting my network settings on my iPhone, selecting Auto in the HTTP proxy, selecting auto join, switching off cellular data...practically everything I can do. What are the next steps and when will Apple release and update to resolve this issue?

  • Slow Mac and Suspicious Console Message

I've been researching how to speed up my 2010 macbook running 10.75 and read about console messages. Looking at mine, I saw this:
An instance 0x7fcba739e700 of class IMAPConnection was deallocated while key value observers were still registered with it. Observation info was leaked, and may even become mistakenly attached to some other object. Set a breakpoint on NSKVODeallocateBreak to stop here in the debugger. Here's the current observation info:
        <NSKeyValueObservationInfo 0x7fcba669c2d0> (
<NSKeyValueObservance 0x7fcba61e04c0: Observer: 0x7fcba3e82970, Key path: isDisconnected, Options: <New: NO, Old: NO, Prior: NO> Context: 0x0, Property: 0x7fcba54daa70>
Does that mean someone has installed a key stroke tracker???

I believe that those messages have to do with memory management and memory being allocated and deallocated, and have nothing to do with keystroke loggers.

  • Link between Financial Statement Item and Break-Down-Category

    Dear all,
we try to create an own data entry functionality in SAPNetweaver for our BCS Data.
Therefore we need to implement a coding vor a validation (IP-coding). Do you know in which table we get the link between the financial statement item and the break-down category?
    The customizing phath is
TA UCWB > Master Data > Items > Item (select item) > Field Breakdown Category (field name: ITGRP).
We need the tecnical link (table/structure) so that we can create a validation based on the financial statement and the breakdown category).
    Thanks!
    XmchX

The tables themselves are generated objects that are structured based on how you've defined your master data (custom attributes, etc).
You can probably find them through table UGMD2011 and entering the fieldname of your FS Item (I think the delivered item is /1FB/CS_ITEM).
The following snippet is from a function module I wrote to check movement type restrictions (min/max selection set) might be useful.  I've previously created a custom task for posting custom documents (that could not be defined with standard reclassifications or IU eliminations).
I've never worked with the portal, but presumably you can create an RFC interface and replicate the selections which normally come from the cons monitor (Cons Area, GC, FYV, Period, Year, Cons Chart, + and additional fields fixed in the cons area) on a portal page and inherit them that way.  I actually thought about creating an Excel workbook that would send postings directly into BCS...just never got the time, and it was never a "requirement" as the volume of manually entries has been pretty low (or, at least always planned to be low)

Would recommend debugging these two methods to get an idea of what BCS is doing:
    cl_uc_tx_data_change->if_uc_tx_data_change~analyze_and_add_data
    cl_uc_tx_data_change->save_data
Anyway, hope that helps.  It took me a lot of debugging to figure out exactly which objects were being used by the posting process, getting the refresh right (delete/reverse existing documents based on special version customizing), etc.  I wouldn't recommend slamming them into the cube and ODS directly with a RSDRI_CUBE_WRITE_PACKAGE or anything...
