Slow Motion sound from FCP doesn't get sent?

Hi,
I recently sent a segment of my FCP movie top STP and found that footage I'd reduced to 50% speed is imported as empty sound files or in one case a different part of the audio track. Has anybody else experienced this? The FCP file is fully rendered (and that's all that I could imagine being wrong). Anybody know what's going on?
Thanks

Yeah, had this one myself. Soundtrack pro doesn't except Slowmo... it's a later version thing i suppose. only work around i've figured is exporting your slow mo as quicktimes and re-importing to FCP. then STPro will recognise them. there's a little more on this in the manuals.

  • Playing slow motion movies from Z2 on pc

    Hi Guys
what about playing slow motion movies from Z2 on pc?
I tried and I could not??
Have you got any ideas (win7 x32)?
    Cheers
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I installed CCCP codeks and I'm able to play on Windows media player without the problems.
On VLC media I could play however - not with good quality, the picture did not changed fluently, so I uninstalled.
    Thanks for help as well.
    I'm really happy.
Also I found APP on Android "After Focus Pro" - great software it can do what background defocus cant. So basically I can play with focus as on HTC M8 but in higher resolution (6 MP).

  • How can I get my slow motion shot to FCP

    Hi
I shoot in DVCPRO HD 720p 50 @ 50FPS, how can i import to the FCP to get the slow motion? If i shoot in High frame rate, 720p 25 or 50 is better?
    Thanks

Ah...see, if you said that at the Cow...
Let's see if Cinema Tools will do it.
OK...on your capture scratch drive, locate that clip and DUPLICATE IT. This is important, as you will now be changing the clip forever. Open Cinema Tools...cancel the Database query. Now...Open the clip...FILE>Open. When it is open, to to the CLIP menu and select CONFORM. See if you can conform the 50p clip to a 25P clip. Not having access to a PAL clip, I don't know if this will work...but it is worth a try.

  • Best way to do Slow motion scene from Canon XHA1S (HDV)

The Canon (XHA1S UK version (PAL)) I have records 25f (progressive) and 50i at various shutter speeds and I have, until now always used optical flow in Motion or Change Speed within FCP to create slow motion effects of clips in my sequence. I almost always capture at 50i then bring it in transcoded to ProRes 442, and as I say either change the speed or send a clip to motion and roundtrip it with an optical flow apllied. Is there a better way or more appropriate codec I shlould use to ingress/transcode the origional captured tape to make the the sequence clips ? I know there are some Plug-Ins such as Twixtor out there but given the fairly small amount of times I need this I do not want to spend hundreds of bucks on that if I can get a better result with the FCP / Motion I have. FYI my system looks like this FCP 7.0.2 , Motion 4.0.2 (FCS3) on a MP 2009 Quad Core 2.26,12Gb RAM, Graphics ATI HD4870 (512 Mb VRAM) -
Many Thanks in Advance - Jim

you could try this Jim, a plugin called 'Too much too soon"
Like yourself I also have a XHA1, and use slow mo quite a lot. I never use motion for it, but I have twixtor too. Twixtor is definately the best - but the process to go about getting a slow mo clip is a joke! When you select the clip and apply say a 50% speed it doesn't extend the length of the clip on the timeline, and you can't drag the edges out either side either!! Instead you have to take the original clip, create a new sequence, duplicate the clip, and then bring that sequence back into your edit - and then apply Twixtor!!!You can imagine if your doing that with a whole editied 'montage' of slow motion it's a total nightmare! (Twixtor seemingly claim that this is apple's fault for not 'letting then' have the tech to do it!)
This may be the next best thing though TMTS
    http://www.mattias.nu/plugins/
It's FREE! The quality is somewhere between FCP slow mo and Twixtor, but a LOT easier to apply than twixtor.

  • Slow motion sound in audio - imovie5

I am so frustrated. I have had so many audio problems in imovie5. This is the worst. The sound is like it is in slow motion!! What happened? I have put it on standard quality. I have used QT 7.01 and it seemed to work on other videos. How can I change it without redoing my whole video. It is a musical from a drama class this summer. It happened after I extracted the sound which I had to do so it is insync with the video. Now every audio sound is slow motion - even songs from itunes. Can somebody help me?
    Thanks,
    Sandy

I do not know if I have saved the original movie files on one of my two external harddrives. I will always duplicate the original movie now.
Jeff - my understanding is that iMovie HD saves an original version of a project when it performs an update to the HD version. See this topic in Matti Haveri's site here:
    http://www.sjoki.uta.fi/~shmhav/iMovieHDbugs.html#format
So, you may find that you still have a copy of the original project. If you still have your iLife discs, iMovie can be extracted from them. All you need is iLife '04 - iMovie 4 won't mess with a version 3 project (from memory), so it's safe to open in version 4. If you have iLife '04, but can't separately extract iMovie, you can download the shareware program "Pacifist" (US$20) which will easily allow you to install iMovie from the iLife disc. You can download the program here: http://www.charlessoft.com/
You should also be able to extract an earlier version from your OS 10.2 install discs - but I'm not sure what version would be on them. If you do install an earlier version, firstly rename or make sure that your current version is not named just iMovie - rename it to iMovie HD 5.0.2 (or whatever) if necessary. This will prevent the installer overwriting your current version.
All the best with your latest project "Big Sur In Motion" and thanks for posting back Jeff. This link to Dan Slagle's excellent site may provide some additional information: http://www.danslagle.com/mac/iMovie/index.shtml

  • Slow motion video from computer (backup) back to device?

I keep getting idiotic bugs on my iPhone 6, and have been through all the iOS versions. So I have to keep doing resets with iTunes (deletes everything).
I have quite a few slow motion videos on my phone. I back them up before the reset by simply copying everything in the DCIM subfolder to my computer. Question is....how to get the videos back on the phone after a reset, and register as slow motion? It seems impossible. Syncing a folder back with iTunes does not do this. Copying files back onto the camera roll folder is impossible. All I can ever do is get videos back but play in full speed. Thus rendering all slow motion captured useless.
Have Apple completely messed this up?

You have to email it to yourself to preserve the slow-motion effect.

  • How ro export small (compressed) files (.mpg) with sound from FCP or compr.

I have some dv pal footage that I need to store in in very small files. Then I need to convert it back to dv, for editing.
The quality (regarding artefacts and all that) is not important. The stuff was ripped from DVDs originally and are only to be used as reference.
Can I export an .mpg file with sound muxed into it from FCP or Compressor?
    H.264 produces to big files.
    Thanks for any replyes:)

    Hm, what a weird workflow.
I presume you are trying to edit with this stuff in FCP, so my question is, If you are grabbing media off DVDs, and converting with MPEG Streamclip or some such thing, and then trying to down-rez to edit with proxy footage, how do you plan to use timecode to reconnect to the high-res media when your cut is done?
h.264 can produce to big files or small files, depending on the settings of the file you tell it to produce to.
Consider that the amount of time you would spend converting media back and forth to low-res formats of lousy quality could be much more valuable than the cost of a firewire drive which you could use to convert your DVDs directly to DV, which you will find much easier to work with.
Hope this is helpful to U

  • Slow motion sound.

Whenever i add a recorded video on the timeline to edit it, the audio plays in extremely slow motion while the video is just fine whats more, the video and the audio are the same length but somehow the audio plays in extremely slow motion. This started happening a while ago and happens only when i import videos recorded with bandicam. Here are my bandicam settings:

  • What is the suggested frame rate to record in for fast / slow motion processing from a clip recorded

I want to create a video however I only have 1 dslr camera and I want the ability to post process the clips I record to be either in slow motion or fast motion. I don't want to have to record something in 24fps then 60fps. is there an ideal frame rate for both. What are some of the best practices for this in regards to recording and post processing in Premiere Pro.
Example of fast and slow video. Thanks.
    http://vimeo.com/75259949

The ideal is to shoot in different frame rates, one for real time footage and one for fast or slow motion clips.  This is called under and overcranking.  It means you have to decide when shooting whether the clip will be real time or not.
Less than ideal is to shoot everything at one frame rate and then slow it down or speed it up later.  It's less than ideal because the effect is never as perfect as the ideal method.  Especially in PP, which does not do very well with slow motion to the point I recommend using After Effects instead.  (At least with 24 fps media.)
On a side note, you can help solve the horrible slow-motion problem:

    Hi
I recently sended an email with a lot of attached files in it, but it went straight to outbox and suddenly disappeared. I didn't get anything in my sent draft, so I assume that it didn't get sent?
My question what happened to the email, can i get recovered?

I'm not sure if you are having the same problem as me.I had vonage and the vonage router was blocking my emails going out but could only send one line text. After changing the router to a new one it worked.

  • Email sent from iPad don't get sent

Some email messages sent from my iPad 2 just disappear. Don't get sent.

POP by definition doesn't "share" folders. Sent messages from one machine are invisible to another. Messages deleted on one machine are gone, period. IMAP, used by MobileMe and Gmail, may be better for your needs. I don't use Yahoo mail, but I'd be surprised if this weren't "working as intended" (by them, if not by you.)

  • Incoming MIDI data from unassociated devices still gets sent out in 2.1.3

The problem I have reported numerous times for previous versions of MainStage is still present in 2.1.3.
An incoming MIDI CC value that is NOT associated with a device is being sent to other channel strips. Last night before rehearsal, I added a Minimoog XL into my rig. It's connected via its own MIDI port on a MOTU 128 Express. I discovered that when I turned the Vol control on the Minimoog, it sent out CC 7 and CC 39 (LSB values for volume) messages to a channel strip associated with a VocalLive voice processor and had absolutely NOTHING to do with the Minimoog.
As reported before, this also happens for CC80 and CC81 and I cannot see any reason why such events would get sent out to other channel strips if there is no explicit mapping defined.
I had to add in new dummy knobs to explicitly block these values, further polluting my layout, which is already full of knobs defined just for blocking stuff.
A generic MIDI device set to listen on all inputs and MIDI channels with output blocked does NOT stop this from happening.
More details are in these older threads:
https://discussions.apple.com/message/12572359#12572359 and with more detail (including how to reproduce) at
https://discussions.apple.com/message/15483068#15483068 is still present in 2.1.3
(I've already submitted this at the feedback link (which, by the way, has no entry for 2.1.3 in it) but I am quite pessimistic about this getting fixed, it has survived many versions of MainStage....I don't understand why)
    This is so disappointing.

That's partially why I'm so concerned about this --- I cannot conceive of a scenario where this behavior makes any sense --- essentially some external synth can generate arbitrary MIDI data which just goes out through other channels, and that data is at best of no interest and at worst can actually screw up the receiving device (which happened to me when my Korg Oasys was sending out CC80/CC81 as part of a program change and it was changing a parameter on my Minimoog)
It seems to me that they could have fixed this quite easily by providing (perhaps an extended version of) a MIDI Device that REALLY blocks everything so users with the problem could just throw that one gadget into the layout instead of having to make a bunch of knobs to block all sorts of things.

    hello
i ve got a probleme, my export is different off my timeline.
it's aways at the same timecode, few time in the video
i checked the frame rate, off the footage, it's ok (25 fps)
try to export with the self-contained doesn't work to
i reboot the computer, and FCP
it's a long video (1h20min), but i try to export small part of it and i always have the same problem at the same time code
i try to export in full def, quicktime movie, and quicktime conversion, both fail.

    2x2,26 Ghz intel xeon

    on mac osX 10.6.2
    any ideas will help
    thanks

The media file may be corrupted.  Open the problematic clip in QuickTime Player Pro 7 and see if it plays OK there.  If not, then you'll need to re-import or recapture from the original media.  If it does play OK in QuickTime, then you may have a corrupted render file(s).  Locate and delete the offending file, then re-render.
