Slow Motion while holding K won't work.

I've been having this problem for a couple weeks now and it's driving me nuts.
When I boot up, I can go through footage and while holding K, I can tap L or J to go forward and back one frame.
After an hour or two suddenly it stops working so whenever I hit J or L it starts playing back the footage at normal speed. It's as though I'm not even holding down K. Even if I shut down FCP this won't fix the problem until I re-boot. When I start up again it works for awhile then just stops for seemingly no reason.
Can anyone help me with this before I put the machine through the wall?
Thanks!

  • The hold button won't work and this morning i cracked the screen!!

    Hello,
I was wondering if anyone can help me! The hold switch on my ipod nano does not work, or is very slow. It only works if I press down very hard on the hold button. This is of course very frustrating!
However, just this morning I cracked the screen.I know that cracked screens are accidental damage and are therefore not covered by warranty, but the hold button was not working before the screen was cracked- it is just bad luck that this has happened before sending my ipod off to Apple to see if they can resolve the issue.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get the hold-button issue fixed even though the screen is cracked? I am a bit of a disaster area with electrical goods, having cracked the screen of my laptop and of my phone in the past!
    Thanks

I believe it is a hardware issue, you have to send it

yeah but I won't be able to get the repair done on warranty, will I?

  • Photoshop Scaling while holding shift is not working correctly. How do i correct that issue?

So im relatively new to The Creative Cloud Version of Photoshop, i know there are changes, but i've been having difficulties with the scaling. when i try to scale layer content or even object Photoshop will not allow me to have shift held down to make a perfectly,"Scaled" layer/object. i hold shift and it works more as a toggled button, and then when i let go the object doesnt stay scaled, sometimes it get inverted or reflected.
I've tried things to try to get it to work, i thought it had to do something with my keyboard but it is doing it arcross the board with all the keyboard's i tried.
Thanks for any responses that may come through.

What you describe is not commonly reported here.  Therefore it seems likely something special about your particular setup.  It might be helpful if you'd describe your system.  The Help - System Info menu in Photoshop provides a pretty good text summary.  I suggest copying that and pasting it into a post here.
Do you have any 3rd party plug-ins or extensions in Photoshop?  If so, have you tried running it without them?
Since you know it works for others, have you considered doing a complete uninstall and reinstall?  Something could be corrupted.

  • Clips when imported turned into slow motion while audio runs normally ahead

Im importing videos from my phone to imovies the first few videos imported fine with no problem. The last few videos i imported when i import them they are elongated in length and slowed down in speed while the audio runs normally ahead of the video. For example i imported a 57 sec video which got elongated to 2+ mins and the audio runs ahead of the video ending at 57 seconds. What can i do to have the video imported as it is?

i think it does this because it is trying to get rid of shaking! if that is any help! any ideas??

  • Hold button won't work, please help

Does anyone know y is my ipod nano 8GB always get to pause pisition when i shake it? even i put it on hold, it always stops.

iPod has a feature that pauses the music when (or at least it thinks) the headphones are pulled out. I find that using cheap headphones from the store (those realllly budget ones) tend to be of low quality and have pausing issues. If you are using the Apple earbuds, maybe something is wrong with them.
I don't know if that is whats wrong, but thats what I got from experience.

  • Installing while dvd rom won't work

For some reason my dvdrom will not read most dvd's lately. I've got an old 1st gen MBP and pretty sure the dvd rom is toast. I tried to create an ISO from my other machine, but OSX is asking me to create a burned dvd and install from there.
While i'd love to, I can't read dvd roms
is there anyway to install around this?

Had exactly the same problem with the Superdrive on my MacBook not reading the Snow Leopard DVD; solution is to use CD and DVD Sharing from your other machine and use the Remote Disc feature to install Snow Leopard. The Snow Leopard installation documents detail how to set that up, however despite following the guide the Remote Disc didn't appear in Finder, however managed to resolve that by entering the following commands into Terminal on the MacBook, i.e. the destination machine:
defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser EnableODiskBrowsing -bool true
defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser ODSSupported -bool true
Quick reboot of the MacBook, open a Finder window and Remote Disc is there, it's then just a case of following the install process for Snow Leopard, does take a while though if you're doing it over wireless (took a couple of hours for me). No problems with Snowy since the install on either m MacBook or iMac.

  • When i try to do slow motion, program crashes

whenever i try to do slow motion or hold or fast motion, final cut pro x crashes.

check to see if it works properly on other clips..if it happens on any clip...
trash the prefs   if that fails...
remove any third party plug-ins   if that fails
    reinstall FCPx
I'm assuming you're FCPx Events and Projects folders are on an external drive...if not...there may be some other odd conflict.  Dunno if there are any particular issues with FCPx on MBAir with it's graphics card onboard and all....

  • Videos play in slow motion using quicktime 7.7 with Iphoto 08'

I have several HD videos from my Sony NEX-3 camera that will not play very well from within iMovie.  They freeze up, or run in slow motion while the sound track continues without any problem.  I've seen other related comments on this forum, but no one has suggested a fix yet.  I can play my clips just fine from the finder menu using "Quick Look".  Other videos from the same camera work, what has changed?

After some tinkering, I discovered this solution.  It worked for me, and it was pretty easy....go to system preferences and look at the bottom of the screen for your list of OTHER options.  I had an icon for 3ivx MPEG-4, so I clicked on it and selected the option that reads "I would like 3ivx to decode all of my MPEG-4 videos.".  Now everything is running smoothly again.  Hope this helps anybody else with this situation!

  • Slow motion sound.

Whenever i add a recorded video on the timeline to edit it, the audio plays in extremely slow motion while the video is just fine whats more, the video and the audio are the same length but somehow the audio plays in extremely slow motion. This started happening a while ago and happens only when i import videos recorded with bandicam. Here are my bandicam settings:

I do not know if I have saved the original movie files on one of my two external harddrives. I will always duplicate the original movie now.
Jeff - my understanding is that iMovie HD saves an original version of a project when it performs an update to the HD version. See this topic in Matti Haveri's site here:
    http://www.sjoki.uta.fi/~shmhav/iMovieHDbugs.html#format
So, you may find that you still have a copy of the original project. If you still have your iLife discs, iMovie can be extracted from them. All you need is iLife '04 - iMovie 4 won't mess with a version 3 project (from memory), so it's safe to open in version 4. If you have iLife '04, but can't separately extract iMovie, you can download the shareware program "Pacifist" (US$20) which will easily allow you to install iMovie from the iLife disc. You can download the program here: http://www.charlessoft.com/
You should also be able to extract an earlier version from your OS 10.2 install discs - but I'm not sure what version would be on them. If you do install an earlier version, firstly rename or make sure that your current version is not named just iMovie - rename it to iMovie HD 5.0.2 (or whatever) if necessary. This will prevent the installer overwriting your current version.
All the best with your latest project "Big Sur In Motion" and thanks for posting back Jeff. This link to Dan Slagle's excellent site may provide some additional information: http://www.danslagle.com/mac/iMovie/index.shtml

  • Quicktime plays video in slow motion

Quicktime plays my video from a Sony NEX-3 camera [H.264 MP4 files] in slow motion. The images plays at a reduced speed, while the sound plays at full speed. One consequence is that image and sound is completely out of sync. The video plays fine in iMovie and MPEG stream clip.
I tried in two Macs: a Macbook Air (10.6.6) and a Macbook (10.6.5) and on both the video is slow motion, but on the Macbook it is extreme slow motion, while on the Macbook Air it is slight slow motion [mainly noticeable through lack of sync between image and sound].
Video from iPhone 4 plays without problems in Quicktime.
Since iMovie plays the Sony video fine, I would assume it is not a Sony video problem, but a bug in Quicktime. How do I get Apple to fix that bug?

  • My slow motion effect won't work... HELP ME!!!

I really need some help here. The original version of Imovie that came with my OS X worked great when it came to adding the effect of slow motion with the little bar at the bottom. I just recently purchased the Ilife 05 package and was all excited to get editing... but now I can't get the slow motion effect to work at all. It does all the rendering of the clip but the effect does not appear in my time line!!! What is wrong??? Please help me!!!

    Hey Karsten... I'm back again...
Yes you guessed correctly... but I never want to see another pc in my life. Now about my prob... I did as you said and still nada. I wish the upgraded version in the Ilife 05 package still had the slow motion control at the bottom of the main screen like in the prior version, but they have taken it off of the main screen and placed in the special effects folder as "fast/slow/reverse". and it is here that it slows the clip down in the preview and renders the clip with the red bar on the main time line. But the red bar on the bottom of the clip in the time line doesn't move and ofcourse the clip is not put in slow motion.
My brother is quite savy with Mac as well and he can't figure it out either. What do you think???

IOS7 installed OK to my iPhone 4S and worked OK for a while but I have somehow managed to completely jam my iPhone 4s. The touch screen won't work except for up and down gestures (some of the time). I can't make or answer calls, I can't even power if off. I can't access the hardward ID which Apple support seems to require for Chat.
It might have happened when I was accessing my camera bypassing the lock screen!
All I know is that the thing is now useless and it looks like I will have to wait for the battery to run down to see if powering it back up afterwards will solve the problem.

I have since discovered the "hold down home key and power button" together for a few seconds and this seems to have worked .... phew!

Premiere Pro CC slows down, then  stops working, then won't work, then it won't quit. So I have to force quit every time.
It does not matter if I am working with HD or 4K - same thing happens.
This began happening about a week ago. Nothing really new has changed. I tried to repair permissions and check this from a new admin account because I know that is what Adobe thinks the answer to every problem is. But it did not change anything.
