Slow mouse in Ms Outlook 2007

Hi there
I use a T61 (3GB RAM) recently upgraded to Vista.
After installing the vista SP-1, I noticed that my mouse works with the significant time delay in outlook 2007. If use keyboard shortcuts or the keyboard arrow keys, items are selected and opened almost instantly, however if I use my mouse, there is time lag - A time lag for the item to be selected and a time lag for the item to be opened.
This only occurs in Outlook 2007, mouse operation with the office aps and windows work as it should - just fine!
I have installed all the updates for Vista and also all the updates for MS Office - but the problem with the mouse operation in Outlook 2007 persists.
Looking thru the forums I saw that there was a patch for this issue but for Windows 7 OS.
Any ideas ?
Solved!

Hi there...
I was running outlook 2007 in administrator mode all this time. Today I had to install this application called MS Communicator 2007 R2, then there was an online update for this, and when I restarted the system .... TADA, no need to run MS office in the administrator mode again!
Whats the solution and how did it get resolved ? Beats me ....

  • Outlook 2007 slow in Bootcamp (XP SP3) on Macbook Air

Outlook 2007 is very slow at refershing the screen and performing basic functions, like deleting an email message, or moving between contacts and calendar.
When watching the performance monitor, it spikes sometimes during the delays, but other times, it is almost at zero. At no point does it max out either processor. Ram is not fully used.
This occurs after a full day of use or a few minutes after rebooting, even when Outlook 2007 is the only application open.
Generally the MacBook Air in XP is reasonably fast. The delays in Outllook are NOT normal.
MacBook Air running Windows XP SP3, 2GB ram, dual core, plenty of hard drive space.
Outlook 2007 and XP have all of the latest updates.

I am not quite sure which OS you are using. WIndows XP or Windows Vista. I am also not sure if you are using a .pst file (Personal Folders) and how large that file is. So I am going to have to make some assumptions and offer my recommendation(s) based on them.
    1. Try updating Outlook 2007 by going to this *[_Microsoft Site_|http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=C262BCFD-1E09-49 B6-9003-C4C47539DF66&displaylang=en]* and downloading and installing it.
    2. Try disabling the Outlook add-ins. The complete procedure is listed [Here|http://www.online-tech-tips.com/ms-office-tips/outlook-2007-slow>. This just may solve it.

  • Pdf's are extremely slow to open and attach in outlook 2007

For the past two weeks, Pdf's are extremely slow to open and attach in outlook 2007.  currently have Adobe Acrobat X Standard and Adobe Reader X running on windows 7, using microsoft office 2007.  is anyone else having this issue?

In an effort to try and solve this I have converted the four reports to native POJO datasources. I thought that maybe the report was looking for the ODBC data source upon which the reports were designed. The ODBC approach was used to help speed up design and development. Now that the DB schema is up and running I can use the POJO and eclipse for preview.
No change in startup and exporting on the QA system.

  • Outlook 2007 very slow to receive gmail on E4200

Outlook 2007 worked fine with my old router and when our laptops are connected on other networks.  But both home laptops take about a minute to go through the "receiving mail" process with GMAIL pop3 accounts when connecting through the new E4200.  Everything is factory default, and I reinstalled Outlook.  This problem does not occur with the roadrunner email accounts also set up in Outlook.  Any help welcome!

I have not heard anything like this before but clearly the problem is, there is a "lag" with the gmail accounts behind the router. Have you tried to reset the router? What is the hardware version by the way of this router?

  • HT1296 I have a problem synching calendar data between my iPhone 3GS iOS 5.1 & Outlook 2007 on MS7.  The basic calendar is OK but the birthdays (little box icon) are a day early & cannot be changed to the correct date. How can I fix this?

I have a problem synching calendar data between my iPhone 3GS iOS 5.1 & Outlook 2007 on MS7.  The basic calendar data transfer is OK but the birthdays (little box icon) are a day early & cannot be changed to the correct date. The birthday entries in my Outlook contacts have correct dates. How can I fix this?

The following peocess corrects the calendar entry:
edit the contact & change the birthday, save the change; edit the contact & change the birthday to the correct value, save the change again. The calendar entry then displays on the correct date.  Alternatively as a temp solution I can just de-select the "birthdays" calendar which stops the icon being displayed.
Thanks for your advice, I think that it's n going to be a slow process to fix all the entries for not much return.

  • Outlook 2007 .ost file corrupt / scanpst.exe 3-4x daily & 3 to 4 runs before "clean", long term issue - need help on how to repair my .OST FILE once and for all, please...

I've had many issues with my .ost data file (couple years) with:  very slow going into outlook 2007, scanpst.exe 3-4x before its "clean", and have to run it few times daily.
No major issues i can pinpoint, but just SLOW, hangs at times, file less than 1GB, IT people just mess it up more, etc.
NEED some PROFESSIONAL minds to help me get this data file cleaned up once and for all... forever hopefully.
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Why the need to repair it?
    You could:
    1. Create a new Outook profile a different name and a new ost will be created ( leaving the old one there)
    2. Close up Outlook completely, delete the existing.ost and re-open Outlook to create a new one.
    3. Close Outlook completely and rename the existing .ost and re-open Outlook to create a new one.

  • Outlook 2007 Calendar Monitoring: track send event for recurring meetings

    Hi,
I'm working on an Outlook 2007, VSTO 2010, .NET 3.5 add-in which monitors AppointmentItem objects changed on the user's calendar. Specifically I'm tracking the send event of the currently selected appointment in the calendar view. Currently my add-in is
set to cancel the send event and call Display() on the selected appointment instead.
I'm testing with Outlook 2007 SP3. The event handler is fired correctly for non-recurring meetings when the user changes the start or end time of the meeting and for recurring meeting occurrences / exceptions when the user changes the end time, but not when
the user changes the start time of a recurring meeting occurrence / exception. These are the specific steps:
Create a recurring appointment with e.g. 3 occurrences, add at least one attendee and send the invitation.
Set the Calendar to display a Week View.
Select the top edge of the first occurrence of the appointment created in step 1 and drag it upwards to increase the length of the appointment by half an hour.
Release the mouse button and press enter to confirm the change.
Answer 'Save changes and send update' in the popup.
At this point the addin should cancel the send event and display the appointment, but actually the event handler is not called. This behavior occurs only when I change the start time of an occurrence / exception. When I change the end time the event handler
    is called correctly.
Do you have any clue why the event handler is only called for the one change and not for the other? How could I work around this issue?

  • Outlook 2007 & Exchange 2007 - Out of office assistant not working

    Hi,
when using outlook 2007 and the users mailbox is on an Exchange 2007 server the out of office assistant doesn't work. When you start the out of office assistant the following message is displayed:
'Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later.'
Using Outlook 2003 and connect to the same mailbox, the assistant works fine, however you don't have the additional features new to the Assistant.
Also, when using outlook 2007 and connect to an Exchange 2003 mailbox the out of office assistant is also functioning fine.
Using Outlook Web Access on Exchange 2007 to set the out of office assistant works also fine, so the error message is not correct.
Any idea how to fix this ?
    Franc.

Whilst I agree that auto-discover and other comment's could be upheld, I know that even when EWS and auto-discover are setup correctly that this problem will still occur.
I manage an Exchange 2007 environment with 300 users and and Exchange 2010 environment with 700 user's all using Outlook 2007.  We are in the progress of deploying Outlook 2010 but I know with the new authentication process of the Outlook
client with Exchange 2007 or older and Outlook 2007 or older, this problem will still occur.
I know that their are just a few out of a 1,000 user base that experience this problem, so I don't see how global settings and configurations and settings are the culprit.
Just like the problem caused by a badly designed update in November or December of last year that meant auto-discover does not auto-configure a new Outlook profile because it would not detect the user's e-mail address but somehow create some random e-mail
address with the AD account name before the @ and the FQDN for the domain name, which involved a further release of another update several month's later to fix that.
Plus the other problem with the daily and frequent prompt's throughout the day for OWA domain login credential's despite being authenticated and Outlook contacting Exchange fine signified by the bottom-right hand corner status stating so.  I press escape
and Outlook carries performing as normal for it do the same a few hours later, however I find that after about half a dozen prompt's over several days, it will disconnect the Outlook client saying 'Need Password' in the bottom-right, which despite left and
right-mouse clicking does not load a login prompt to re-enter credentials that I should not need to be doing in the first place considering that I am logged in with the correct domain account on my computer and using the destined mailbox for that AD account.
Exiting Outlook gracefully and re-launching Outlook a few seconds later allowing time for the background application handles and sub-handles amongst probably other things from the previous Outlook session to close (although, I do find every so often this
process is hampered every so often by having to end the Outlook.exe process directly through Task Manager before being able to re-attempt launching the Outlook client) and Outlook will just reconnect without the need or receiving a prompt to enter the login
details but I will no doubt receive another login prompt that I can likely just press cancel to or the escape button or perhaps, have to follow the above process again.
Just like releasing SP1 for Exchange 2010 to add more problems that worked without it but fixing those problems that existing in 2010.
I find that deleting a database result's in a failure error that in fact does successfully remove the database but since SP1, I know have to run a shell command to remove the database in the registry to delete an entry from a 'state' and 'lockstate' folder
before I am rid of the Exchange configuration, to then have to suspend all database copies on that server and re-start all of the Exchange services before I can actually delete the edb file.  Just absurd.
It's all just a backwards and forwards exercise with Microsoft but would love permanent solutions to all of the above.  Please advise on the above because it is a major irritation.

  • Cannot sync Outlook 2007 Calendar with Alltel BB 8330

OK.....Seems like a lot of folks are having this problem. Here is what I've got
    Vista Home Basic SP1
Outlook 2007 (As a component of Office Enterprise 2007)
    BB8330 running OS 4.5.0.127
Configured with two email accounts-Default calendar/account is the same as the Outlook account. (I have Groupwise at work...this is not the default account/calendar)
    Blackberry DM 4.5
    Here's what I've tried....
Uninstalled and re-installed DM countless times
Installing latest version of DM (4.7)
Installing latest version of device OS (4.5?)
    Deleting Intellisync folder
    Sync only calendar
    Running DM as administrator
Deleted all BB calendar entries associated with the Groupwise Email account
Have run scanpst on Outlook and repaired file (it said there were some problems)
First synchronization worked great, the only thing I did between the first and second syncs were change some recurring calendar events and add two events to my calendar associated with the Groupwise account. I have since deleted those Groupwise events and that calendar shows no entries when i look under calendar-options.
Now i get the much discussed "Desktop Manager has stopped working" error when DM begins to process my Outlook calendar. It syncs contacts fine, reads and processes device calendar, then reads 631 Outlook calendar records, begins to process Outlook calendar records and stops immediately. I have to reboot to get DM to attempt to sync again. Here's the log from the Intellisync folder...

This is baffling. I have used a Palm TX for years and was excited about jumping into the BB world. I love the phone but I purchased it primarily for keeping track of my schedule. I am not impressed and have 26 days left on the trial. I hate to take it back to Alltel but its worthless unless I can easily and reliably sync the calendar. Anybody got any answers?
    Solved!

OK...here's the update. I tried a few more tricks, too numerous to go into and NOTHING worked. I finally downlaoded and installed Companionlink Express and.....presto! I can sync again. 49.95 for the Companionlink software. You would think the BB folks could write (or purchase) a decent piece of software. I purchased the 8330 primarily to help me keep up with my calendar. When that didn't work, I had a $200 dollar cell phone. RIM almost got this one back! By the way, the website is www.companionlink.com.

    Hi,
This issue may be related to importing from IMAP PSTs.  The solution was to use mfcmapi to change the PR_CONTAINER_CLASS on the Inbox.
Here is a related thread for your reference.

  • Use of Outlook 2007 Tasks (iTasks) repeatedly crashes Outlook

I'm using Outlook 2007/Win 7 with all patches
Have the iCloud add-in installed and enabled for “Calendars & Tasks with Outlook”
I accept that I can’t use the native “Tasks” folder under My Tasks and have moved all my Tasks to “Tasks in iCloud” under iCloud – I hate losing built in functionality, but I favor synching tasks across multiple devices: PC, phone and iPad.
I’m not using Exchange Server – this is a standalone machine at home.
This setup I've been using with good success for the last 4 months -- with the exception of this error that crashes Outlook randomly and repeatedly multiple times per day while updating tasks. I'm a techie and I've been monitoring this error trying to figure out exactly what the conditions are to recreate this error to no avail.
Note: my machine is very stable and I have never had Outlook crash for 2 years prior to using iCloud.  Outlook only appears to be crashing when I am making changes to tasks details in Outlook's 'Tasks in iCloud'. Usually it's not a problem, but every 10th or so change it totally crashes Outlook.
    What kind of changes?
Usually changes are made to various details and the task is saved, deleted, marked complete - or sometimes just closed without changes = crash & outlook restart
Changes to the subject line, progress fields, details, etc.
Moving tasks between categories or assigning categories to a task
After it restarts outlook, if you go to tasks in iCloud right away, often they don’t appear, it's totally blank. I freaked the first time this happened. You have to exit out of outlook and restart it - sometimes many times and finally the tasks are brought down from the cloud into outlook.  I've found that it's best to not go straight away into the itask folder after an outlook automatically restarts (usually the tasks are all missing).  Instead, I go into mail, select the Inbox and then go to tasks - that seems to have a better chance for the iTasks being there.  Sometimes that fixes the problem; other times I need to restart Outlook several times. Time doesn't seem to matter: Sometimes it crashes/restarts, there are no iTasks, then I leave it for 4 hours and recheck it later -- still no iTasks.. so I restart outlook again and it's fine.
This problem nags on me as I am a task master and the constant hard crashes of outlook is annoying as #$# and I'm very worried that my Outlook .pst files will eventually get corrupted by the constant crashing.
Any suggestions or a shoulder to cry on would be nice...
    Thanks,
    Rick

Feel like all I do is talk to myself on this "help" board. This is why Apple is miles away from taking over the corporate enterprise... mickey mouse support.
Additional info, my @me.com email settings in Outlook, I used this after having problems with the recommended settings.
    Account Type: IMAP
    Incoming Mail server: p99-imap.mail.me.com
    Outgoing SMTP: p99-smtp.mail.me.com
Password is remembered, SPA not required for login
Outgoing mail server SMTP requires authentication
    Advanced tab: IMAP: 993 & SSL  // SMTP: 25 & Auto
Maybe this matters..maybe it doesn't.. not worry  Outlook crashing 10 times a day is fun..thanks Apple!

  • Migrating from Outlook 2007 to Entourage 2008

15 days ago, I bought my first Mac after a 12-year gap. I have been trying to get my information from Outlook 2007 into Entourage 2008 without any luck. I've google'd and found that there are indirect paths only. (via mbox).
My E08 refuses to recognize the mbox files. After renaming my Inbox files as Inbox.mbox, they show up as E08 files (with the E08 icons). But I cannot open them in E08. When I go the File, Import method in E08, all mbox files are grayed out and I cannot select any of them.
I've installed Thunderbird on my Mac and got all the files into Thunderbird from my Win PC. Apple Mail crashes consistently when I try to import from Apple Mail.
Total file size is 5+ GB with 30 folders. Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong.

Here is a long pending update on how I got my OL2007 data into E2008.
    On the PC:
    1. Setup Gmail Imap in OL2007. (I used my Gmail account for this purpose. Go into Gmail and search for "Outlook Imap setup")
ENSURE ENTOURAGE IS NOT RUNNING ON THE MAC.
    2. Drag and drop each sub-folder from the Inbox into the Inbox of the Gmail Imap folder.
    3. Depending on the size of the sub-folder and attachment, it makes take a few minutes to a couple of hours.
    On the Mac:
    4. Setup the Gmail Imap folders in Entourage too. (again refer Gmail help section).
    SHUTDOWN OL2007 ON THE PC
    5. Drag and drop the subfolder you created in step 2 onto your Entourage Inbox. (because this is a "download", it might work faster).
    6. After step 5 is complete, quit Entourage.
    7. Back to your PC, start OL2007.
    8. Drag and drop the sub-folder from Gmail into the OL2007 Inbox. (this step is required if you want to preserve all the data on OL2007).
    9. Repeat for other folders present on your OL2007.
This process is excruciatingly slow and painful, but it did get me all my data, attachments, preserved the links intact and organized it according to categories. For categories, ensure that you create the same categories as your OL2007 on E2008.
    Good luck.

  • Vista & Outlook 2007: Sync with second XP & Outlook 2003 - The passed buffer is too small for the reply data

    Dear Community,
I'm synchronising my T3 with two PCs. One with Vista & Outlook 2007 and the other with XP & Outlook 2003. Both with the latest conduit & Hotsync Manager versions installed for each OS based on the availability on the Palm Website.
My problem is that when I synchronise the T3 with either PC and then try to sync it with the other I'm receiving the following error message for the Calendar:
    Outlook Calendar
The passed buffer is too small for the reply data.
    OLERR:0D-0008
    OLERR:0D-0004
    OLERR:0D-0001
    - Slow Sync
    Outlook Calendar synchronization failed
The second time the sync is successful but takes a long time and the actual problem is that it creates duplicates for records previously changed on either PC - but with a sync in between those changes, i.e. no conflict in the sense that the same record was changed in both environments since the last sync. I have configured the conflict handling to establish a hierarchy PC1-T3-PC2 but try to avoid them by synchronising as often as possible.
Has anyone come across that problem or any ideas? Can you somehow adjust the buffer size for the sync? I have been using Lotus Organiser & then the various Outlook versions for a number of years.
    Thank you
    Rainer

As they say on TV, "Doh"!!!
I figured out the problem. I started the Sync tool, selected "Settings", then "Mcrosoft Outlook" tab and then "Select Folders" button. I browsed to the proper folders in Outlook (Calendar, Tasks, etc). Select OK enough times and retried the sync.
    It worked.

  • Outlook 2007/Desktop 5.0 contacts synchronization

I'm a relatively new Blackberry user (4 months).  I synch my Blackberry Curve 8330 with Outlook 2007 on a Windows machine using Blackberry Desktop v 5.0.  While the calendar logic synch's right, the contacts do not.  It seems that when I synch from Outlook to the Blackberry, it just seems to ADD contacts, rather than MERGE them.  You can imagine that this means the number of contacts on my Blackberry keeps growing, with obvious duplicates.
Note - I only do "1 way", in that I don't need changes on my contacts on the Blackberry to transfer back to Outlook.  It is a one-way street.  Also, I know the work around - every so often, I do a "replace contents" when I synch so that all the contacts on the Blackberry are deleted, and the new contacts from Outlook get transferred.  Given that I have about 4000 contacts, this is a rather slow process, and I don't want to do it everytime.
    Thanks.

    Welcome to the forums
I would setup the sync settings for the address book again. After your select one way sync, make sure the "replace all data in the target application" is checked off.
If you don't want to do this, you should also check the "Advanced" options. Under the address book tab, click on "Conflict Resolution" and see if it is set to "Notify me if conflict occurs". Changing to this, or one of the other options, may help.
    Cheers,
